Cons: Let me start with the location of the Riad, it is indeed close to the popular tourist attractions but the entrance is extremely hard to find. We needed to ask a random person to lead us through narrow back alleys that in turn led through some kind of contruction site. Once we arrived the guy who led us there wanted money from us. After our arrival we had communication problems with the receptionist in English. For Riad of that price I would at least expect someone speaking English. When we wanted to leave the room to go to city center we realisted we had not been given the padlock to the room which made us feel unsafe. The receptionist forgot to give it us. Be aware that the room is really small and had a couple of problems: - First problem is a lack of privacy, everything from inside the room can be heard outside it in the reception. The problem lies in the location of the room and doors which can’t be fully closed. The lack of bathroom doors also makes for an uncomfortable experience, because people sitting in the dining area right outside can hear you. In addition we could even hear videos that the night receptionist played on his phone during the night, which makes the privacy problem even worse and is a rude behaviour on his side - Bathroom smells like sewage and there is no way to get rid of this. I woke up in the morning because of the sewage smell accumulated over the night and I needed to leave the room because it made me feel unwell - The faucet is too close to the edge, so it’s very difficult to wash your hands. I had to wash hands in the shower The room is not worth 100 euro a night. This should never be rented out to people in current state. You will be better off an entire airbnb appartment for half the price. I am dissapointed, have been lied to and denied refund. You promised me a refund, I tried to contact you via whatsapp but got no response. You didn’t even answer messages from Booking employees.

I feel I was mislead by some of the fabulous reviews, so I will try to be as honest as possible. I tried really hard to think about something positive to say, and I honestly couldn't find much. I think the only thing is that the room smelled less damp than some riads we have stayed at. However, this place is outrageously overpriced for what it is, even for Marrakess (see below why), and I would very much not recommend it.
Cons: Having now spent two weeks all over Marocco and stayed in 9 different riads, including another one in Marrakesh, I can confidently say that this place is ridiculously overpriced for what it is. It is possible to walk to the centre, but it is not in a nice part of the town, and it is down some pretty dodgy alleys even for Marrakesh. I walked around the whole city by myself but as a female traveller I would be very nervous staying here alone. It manages to both be very remote AND very loud in the evening, as it seems be very close to some kind of nightclub? The place is overall very, very shabby (and definitely not chic). Our room was large enough, but there is only a curtain for a bathroom door, the tub and paint on the walls was peeling, the rug on the floor was so flithy that we couldn't walk on it barefoot, and there were no duvet covers on the divets (perhaps that is only a pet peeve of mine but duvets are not washed between guests and I am not keen in sleeping in other poeple's duvets). The porthole windows were literally coming off the walls. The main common area was very shabby, with bikes, cables, other debris stored around, the common area toilet was gross, the pool seemed pretty grim as well. To be clear, I wouldn't mind it all so much if this place was actually budget-friendly, but we paid 140 a night for it, and as I said, this is ridiculoursly overpriced. If you can get it at a better price in the off season, it may be worth it to save some money, but it is definitely not worth a price like that. For the same price we stayed in much much nicer places all over the country, including in a lovely place in a much better location in Marrakesh. The staff seemed friendly enough, not that they bothered very much with us - only to make sure that we pay the tourist tax before we left. The roof terrace has a nice view, but the loungers are old, dirty and coming apart so it's not really nice to hang out there.

Stayed at the Riad Chalymar for 3 nights in early March. It's in an excellent central location for exploring Marrakech. It's situated down some narrow streets and not the easiest place to find but felt very safe even when returning late at night. The were staff very helpful and attentive and breakfasts were lovely. My room was clean and tidy and the shower and facilities were good.
Cons: There's some building work near the Riad but it wasn't noisy and it didn't was any disruption. However, you do have to navigate your way past them to get to the Riad.

The staff were lovely. Sarah and Mohammad cannot be faulted. The riad was in a great location, only a 5 minute walk from the medina. The place was very clean.
Cons: We stayed in the ground floor bedroom, it did tend to get noisy in the morning very early so maybe just ask for a different room. Some fruit would also be nice with breakfast and maybe fresh juice ! Otherwise we are happy with our stay

The breakfast were lovely and the staff were all very helpful whenever we required something. The Riad is also very well located as it is closed to all places of interest within the Old Town.

The property was a typical Riad which we’d chosen to stay so we had an authentic experience in Marrakesh. Sarah & the staff were very friendly & couldn’t do enough for us. The bed was comfortable & shower hot. It’s convenient for the square & close to the oldest Mosque so quite central.
Cons: The Riad is through a labyrinth of lanes before you reach the door. There is building work repairing the hospital I think which is at the start of the labyrinth which is very messy & doesn’t give a good impression on arrival.

I liked the breakfast and the staff who were very kind.
Cons: I was not satisfied with the bedroom because it was cold, and the toilet had no door. The bed was small, and the sheets were never changed, even though the bed was made. The bedding felt like a parachute and was very uncomfortable, with constant rustling from the plastic material that made it hard to sleep. Additionally, the room was old and poorly insulated, which meant that noises from guests going downstairs for breakfast, especially after 8:30 AM, were very loud.

It’s a traditional riad that is well maintained and kept clean. Location is very convenient if you are looking to explore the Medina, Mosque or the Jamaa Al Fnna areas. The breakfast is delicious. All the staff are extremely welcoming & friendly. Both, Sarah and Mohammed were available to help make recommendations or support in any way to make your stay comfortable. The staff were exceptional and I would highly recommend the place.
Cons: My issue might be specific to the room I had but the room on the ground floor which is not noise proofed. This might be uncomfortable for yourself or others if like me you snore :)

It was cheap. The location was great- easy walk to everything we needed to get to.
Cons: The staff were friendly but no one went above or beyond. The bathroom didn’t have a curtain to divide it from the bedroom until the 3 night of our 3 night stay. No hand soap for the sink, even when I asked. I was told to use the body wash from the shower. Still not sure which of the 2 little containers was the body wash. Not labeled. One was yellow. One was white, then refilled on the 3 night with something green so I was half white and half green. No new towels during our stay. We needed to check out early on our last morning (7:00) and asked if we could have a little something for breakfast prepared. Were told, “no problem. We’ll do something to go.” Not a soul was around then we left. No breakfast, not checkout. But, they made sure we paid out city tax the night before. I don’t recommend Riad Chalymar, but it is cheap.

An incredible, surprising experience. The street to the riad seems difficult but it's kind of Marrakesh, very close to Jemana Alfena, 5 minute walk. Sara and Moahmed are kind and wonderful people, they gave us information, we shared tips, experiences and we made friends. Very kind, I love this people. Wonderful people. We had a great stay at this beautiful riad. It had a private rooftop and nice, clean rooms ❤️ Really friendly staff that helped us out with everything we needed and even offered to show us the way to the bank etc. Really great location! It was the worst experience ever after booking i have tried to call them many times to confirm the location and ask them to assist with my luggage many times however there was no response. And once arrived the Riad was actually in a bad condition and not ready for guests at all. To my surprise and after 25 mins of walking to find the Riad the lady there said that sorry the bed is broken and we can't have you here. They have moved us somewhere else! Which was an average and not to my standards however better than sleeping on the road!. Not sure how they have opened the place on Hotels.com and how they accepted the reservation. This has impacted my trust with Hotels.com and I am more upset from them rather than the Riad itself!

Cons: Unfourtanetly it is very noisy as you can hear every noise even if you are in your room. As soon as the first guests eat breakfast it is impossible to sleep any longer… same for the nights. Our bed was also making lots of noises and it’s unfortunate that there is no bathroom door.

All the staff was amazing, and very friendly and helpful. The first day we didn't had air conditioner, they offer us to go to another riad, but we wanted to stay there. The next day it was solved! Simply perfect. We loved the riad, as much as the two little cats there. It makes you feel like home, for sure. The location is perfect, close to the jeema El fna, souks, and everything. It was a very good experience.
Cons: One of the things we didn't like so much, was the fact of not having a key to the main door. However, the staff was always available to open the door, no matter what time it was. The first days was a little bit hard to sleep because of the loud noise at night, which sometimes was till 1 o'clock in the morning. But this was only the first 2 days. But we were traveling with a kid, so it was a little bit harder for us. In general was amazing.

We wanted to experience a stay in a traditional Riad and this Riad was highly recommended on Trip Advisor. We stayed in one of the junior suites. The whole experience was excellent. The Riad was based in the heart of the medina. The staff made us feel very welcome and we immediately felt at home. The staff went out of their way to help us, even coming to find us when we got lost! The Rooms were cleaned everyday, even changing the towels and bedding. We received a different, freshly prepared, Moroccan breakfast every morning. The Riad was also great value.
