The Riad was very traditional and the room was sizeable. It was very peaceful. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful at all times.

Cons: The bathroom whilst large didn’t have a separate shower or even a shower with a fixture so you could stand up under it so you had to hold it up. It is down quite a number of windy lanes so not very easy to find and was fine for us as a couple but possibly slightly less attractive at night to a solo traveller.

Two parents and a teenage girl with her grown up sister arriving just before midnight we warmly greeted by the one man in charge of the Riad nearby, as rhe way to the place is complicated when you are the first time in Marrakech. The rooms are keeping with the traditions of the Riad, be it that Riad First has kept it simple and clutter free. Very quiet in the midst of the working part of the medina. Street at night are full of garbage and you wonder if all your prejudice will live up to expectations. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom with the painted concrete are cool, water pressure good and the accommodation is confortable and functional. Early start in the day; the master of the house presented a lovely set breakfast with all you need for the day, detail to attention, fresh and delicious. Stepping out and.. what a change! The streets at 07.30hrs are meticulously cleaned, not a piece of trash anywhere, roads washed and the medina is waking up for a bustling business day. All in all, a great two night start in Marrakech!

Salumi ( ovviamente) e formaggi inesistenti.

Cons: WiFi wasn’t great and would benefit from it being stronger up in the rooms. Especially for our teenagers !! Being from UK our own mobile providers made it really costly to use our mobile data in Morocco so the WiFi was needed to use Google map etc to get around.

The place is very nice, staff is really friendly and the location is good. It is close to the center but still in a more quite area. You are often alone in the small streets around the Riad but we never felt unsafe. A recommendation is to ask the Riad to arrange the transport to the Riad on the first day because it is not easy to find. The driver took us as far as possible and there was somebody from the Riad waiting for us at the point where the driver dropped us. The last 200m you cannot reach by car and it would very difficult to find if we didn't have the person of the Riad joining us.

Cons: The swimming pool was very cold but we visited in November and the nights become colder, so it is normal.

Can’t say a single good thing about this hotel

Cons: Terrible location/ Rude manager/ Overpriced. You’ll find Raid First in between a maze of alleyways that has only one way out through a meat market full of gathered men and young lads who advantage of the fact this hotel is in the middle of nowhere and ask for payment to show you the way. The hotel is a lot smaller then shown in pictures. i.e the swimming area is half the size compared to pictures. It also has an open plan for the bathroom including no door for the toilet. Manager is as rude as it gets and won’t understand any circumstances you may have please be aware she will take her money for the whole stay no matter what may come of your travels. Circumstances can change even if it wasn’t planned however she will NOT understand. Overall the location, staff and cost of this hotel is outrageous, would never recommend to anyone. I myself along with my partner left Raid First and moved to a lovely hotel called Hotel Nassim check out their location you won’t be disappointed. Booking.com will not allow me to post pictures of the area surrounding this place. Just goes to show how awful it is.

TLDR: beautiful, very comfortable and run by charming Fatima, who was extremely helpful and genuine. Ok, few realities first. It’s a little hard to find (google doesn’t take you to the right place, the taxis won’t drop you so close, although local guys will show you for a fee), and it is in the medina (so a bit chaotic outside). Once you’re inside it’s calm, really beautiful and charming, although your door doesn’t lock and there isn’t a roomsafe. But you feel safe and cared for, like a little oasis in the chaos. You’re under the care of Fatima, who took the time to ensure we had everything we needed, was happy to help recommend and book restaurants and hammam. The Riad was so peaceful. The room was nicely decorated, the bed very comfy and the bathroom was very cool. We went in November so didn’t try the pool, but the roof terrace was quite special. Breakfast was Moroccan style (breads, jams, eggs, fresh juice and coffee) and very good. Missing it already and a big thank you to Fatima, her son and the team.

Visiting Marrakesh with my partner I was looking for a place to stay and came across this riad. At first I was bit concern about asking for two man sharing a bed in Muslim country and I had expected some raised eyebrows. To be honest no raised eyebrows when we checked in and to be honest we felt very welcomed. All the staff working there was pleasant, friendly and helpful. 5 star from me and I would definitely stay again.

Riad First, at first glance, is beautiful. That is undeniable. It sits, hidden away from the hustle and bustle outside. White walls, a swimming pool and a terrace all enhance it’s superficial beauty. The staff who were at the hotel were helpful too - providing assistance with airport documentation and general queries. Of particular help was the young gentleman who was on night duty at Riad First. Exceptionally accommodating and welcoming. However. I strongly believe that when a business, particularly in accommodation, gives you a product in addition to a fantastic service - it deserves 5 stars. This is where Riad First fails. Upon being presented with its failings, you realise that you are not particularly happy with your relaxation near to be pool, being interrupted by a gentleman carrying out plastering works to some columns near to you. Nor are you happy that your bedroom does not have a functioning light switch. You are not satisfied when you realise that the toilet within your bedroom hardly provides room to stand in - not even mentioning to sit in. You do not appreciate staying in a room where your morning shower is a dribble. Not to mention the lack of a door for privacy. You do not understand how it becomes the guest’s problem that the heat for the ‘Jaccuzzi’ on the terrace must be turned off because: “it takes 6 hours to heat up”. It then becomes harder to understand why you must be charged for each bottle of water (50cl) requested, particularly when other Riads provide this for free. Least of all, you do not appreciate appalling standards of communication from management to rectify the cancellation of a room, in which a request was made, but no response was provided. When a issue as large as this arises - coupled with the point blank refusal of management to discuss the matter - you realise that there are many other smaller issues you are not satisfied with. Based on this experience neither I, my travelling companions, nor any of my family members shall visit this Riad again. “Don’t risk it for a biscuit”. Find a Riad that provides beautiful accommodation and has 10/10 service. Without it, memories of your trip to this beautiful country will be sullied. We shall be returning to other Riads that are interested in ensuring their customers are satisfied.

Location is right in the heart of the Medina so quite busy but as soon as you walk through the doors it's a true oasis amidst the chaos. It's breathtakingly beautiful, the staff treats you like royalty and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is so amazing and prepared specially for you. After a busy day in the streets of Marrakech there's really nothing better than the peace you'll encounter in this perfect Riad. Value for money on this is beyond fair. Having stayed at a different Riad towards the end of our stay (Riad First was fully booked for our last night there) I cannot recommend this enough. It's very much worth the price.

My brother and I spent 3 nights at Fatima's amazing riad. Fatima and her family were extemely nice and kind and helped us with anything we needed. The room was extremely clean and beautiful and the riad was perfectly calm. The only thing to take into account is that the rooms themselves are quite dark (there is a terrace though) and there is no door to the bathroom. But that didn't bother us at all and we enjoyed every second at Riad First!!

Returning to Marrakech for the second time this year, I chose Riad First for our stay as I was impressed with some of the photographs i'd seen online. It was my mum's first time in Marrakech and what a great choice it was to stay here for her first experience here! Our room was so spacious and everything was spotless and all prepared for when we arrived. The courtyard and modern decor is stunning and we spent a lot of time relaxing on the rooftop on the comfy seats in the sun before heading to the souks/out for lunch. The pool and the courtyard gives off a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere, almost as though the busy streets of the medina weren't on the other side of the door! We were both very impressed with our breakfast every morning which was made by the wonderful Fatima, who made us feel very welcome and as though the Riad was our own. Many thanks to the kind staff that looked after us and do a great job of looking after the riad. Would 100% recommend Riad First and I hope to return in future indefinitely.

I have visited Marrakech for the first time this winter, staying in a different Riad. This time I have chosen Riad First and I just couldn't go wrong! It is a hidden gem inside vibrant Medina, with interesting modern decor and lovely relaxing atmosphere. I was greeted with a traditional Moroccan dinner which was delicious. My room had an amazing view and was cosy and warm. The room and the grounds were spotless clean. Fatima and Simo provided a very professional but friendly service and did their best to make me feel satisfied. Overall, I had a great time and will definitely be back.

My family and I rented the entire riad for ourselves. What a treat to have this beautiful home to enjoy in its entirety. It's location in a very quiet dead end "derb" inside the medina was absolutely perfect to enjoy the 'true' feeling of being in Marrakech. The owner, Vanessa, is a delight to deal with: always quick to answer emails and arrange day trips for us. The decor is modern and sleek which provides a nice juxtaposition to the traditional medina. Beautiful, big rooms: sumptuous bathrooms with the most exquisite bath products! In the heat of August in Marrakech nothing is better than the courtyard plunge pool to cool off after a day of sightseeing. But, truly the best part of Riad First is Fatima, the housekeeper. Our memories of Marrakech are all combined with memories of Fatima and her sweet disposition. We traveled with our daughter who fell in love with Fatima and her caring personality. Nothing was too much trouble for her. And her breakfasts! What a moveable feast! I have already shared our discovery with friends who are considering visiting Morocco. And renting the whole riad is the way to go. We are already planning a return visit real soon. Shukran!

We really liked this riad in the lively neighbourhood. The hosts are really friendly and helpful. The riad is quiet and nicely designed. Have breakfast on the roof terrace and enjoy the local people on the nearby souks

Beautiful little riad within the medina. The riad is owned by a French couple and run by a Morocco mother and son duo. Fatima and her son are helpful and genuine. It's true that it feels like you are staying in a friend's home as it is not exactly professionally run. Breakfast is mediocre and though the room was clean, we found the towels to be quite hard and 'used' and the blanket to have stains on them. The place is of a reasonable price and is beautifully decorated but if you want something more up to standards, there are other riads you can choose from. Also, if you choose to drive, you can park at Bab Doukala Mosque where it costs roughly 25 MAD per day. The riad will arrange a young kid to being you to the riad and help you with your bags.

Riad First is a lovely traditional shaped riad, redone with a modern twist. It has only a few rooms, but all of them are beautifully decorated, and all have wifi as well as air condition. The beds are big and comfortable too. The family that works at the riad are LOVELY. they greet you by name every morning and give you advise about your stay in marrakech, and offer to make you some amazing mint tea everytime you come home. it doesnt feel like a hotel, but more like youre staying at local friends house. The roof terrace is stunning, with sunbeds, a shallow pool to walk through for a cool down, and views over the marrocan rooftops. the location is also good, right in the middle of the hustle nad bustle of the medina. It is, however, a bit difficult to find, as the medina is a bit of a maze. We got lost twice, and called the hotel, and they sent us someone to pick us up.
