We had a very pleasant stay at this riad. It was clean, quiet, and offered a relaxing atmosphere. The room was spacious, and the shower had excellent water pressure. The host was very knowledgeable and gave us great tips on how to get around Marrakech and make the most of our visit. Overall, a comfortable stay with warm hospitality—we would happily recommend it.

It was decorated beautifully inside, everything was ornate and more authentic than another Riad we stayed at. The staff were also exceptionally nice, sitting down with us on arrival with a pot of mint tea, allowing us to store luggage there during our day in Marrakesh, and making us a meal even though we arrived slightly later than anticipated. It was also very calm, quiet and peaceful despite being so close to the main street, and with many other guests staying.

Cons: Nothing, everything was excellent.

Ubicato in strada secondaria rispetto a quella centrale e quindi molto silenzioso.

Large room and comfortable bed

Cons: My main problem is setting the price in Euros, then applying an inflated exchange rate, and being charged in local currency. This is obviously intentional to have the supposed price in MAD converted to EUR, and then back to MAD before actually paying. The shower was not good. The breakfast was below average. Using fake orange juice in this country does not make any sense.

Well situated in Medina

Cons: Although the check-in time was officially 2pm, our room was not ready until 3pm. We were left in the reception room without any information on how long we need to wait until our room is ready. Also, it was very cold in the room and the heating (AC) run all the time, but didn't heat up the room at all. On my birthday, we asked for eggs for breakfast but they just said, they don't have any. Quite disappointing for a booking in this category. Overall, little service- and customer-orientation.

This Riad is in a fantastic location and incredibly peaceful, your hosts are absolutely wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are stunning and we had the Attarine room with its own terrace on the first floor, we had breakfast on our terrace in the mornings and enjoyed a home cooked Moroccan feast prepared by the lovely Fatima one evening before an early morning balloon flight. Perfect location and a wonderful Riad. Superb breakfast and wonderful staff, nothing was too much trouble for the manager Abdul or his staff. We booked via Abdul the manager both a trip to the Ourika Valley and a Hot Air Ballloon over the desert to see the sunrise, both were fantastic and well managed. The Riad is perfectly located within the Medina, just a few minutes walk to 'Jemma el- Fna' Square, Mellah, El Badi & Bahia Palaces. The Riad was truly beautiful and exceptionally clean, with daily housekeeping and 24 hour service. The roof terrace is a wonderful space to relax and unwind after a hectic day of exploring and we made great use of it. All in all this was genuinely a wonderful holiday made all the more comfortable and enjoyable by Abdul and his team, we cannot speak highly enough of them and the service they provided to us. We do not hesitate in recommending Riad Dar El Souk and we are sure if you stay there you too will have a memorable and enjoyable time. Thank you Abdul and team ... you really did help make this a special trip.

Cons: Truthfully cannot think of anything that we didn't like. It is very difficult to find criticism with any aspect of our stay at this Riad.

Beautiful riad located in the heart of the Medina! Amazing location and close to most tourist attractions. We felt very safe staying here considering there is staff present 24hours a day and additional safety measures to enter the building. What really made our stay memorable was the hospitality of the staff. Such warm and good hearted people! The breakfast was fantastic. Rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean! AC worked very well.

Cons: Wifi was quite spotty at times.

My favourite riad in Marrakech, at least so far. Have stayed there a total of about a month, over time and two different visits. Abdellah and his team are the best -- so warm and helpful. They feel like family now. Beautifully decorated, not over-the-top, just enough...with a lovely salon, courtyard, rooftop. The rooms are gorgeous -- I have stayed in three of them and seen others. (My favourite is Azzarine.) Fatima is a brilliant cook if you want to order supper ahead...makes some of the best tagines I've had in Morocco. The riad is easy to get to (relatively!) from the Mellah area roundabout, where taxis/cars drop you off. The old city's central square, Jemaa el Fnaa, is about 8 minutes away, walking. Bahia and Badi palaces are nearby. The riad is usually booked out, so book ahead!

The whole riad is beautiful and we loved being inside the Medina yet still away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets, but by far and away the best thing about Riad Dar El Souk is its staff. Fatima’s cooking is so good it quite literally brought tears to our eyes (my husband was born in Casablanca and he said he hadn’t tasted food like hers since his mother passed away). Aside from which, they took care to make me an incredible vegan dinner I will never forget! Thank you all for making our stay so special. We truly felt that you treated us like family.

Cons: I honestly can’t think of anything that could be improved upon.

All staff were amazing, very helpful with places to visit, prices to pay & restaurant recommendations, always happy to help & always asked how we were & how our day had been! The Riad itself is beautiful although a little run down, the shower in our room had to be used by hand as it wouldn’t securely stay on the showerhead holder above. The menu states food all day everyday, however when we asked for a light lunch of panini they said they weren’t serving food, which was disappointing! The WiFi didn’t work for a day or so but the staff worked hard to restore this problem, no alcohol is served here also! The breakfasts were lovely & you could choose to eat them wherever you wished. The bed was solid however we had a surprising amazing sleep! All in all we absolutely loved our stay & would definitely return.

Everything!! Our room was lovely with a sitting area outside our door. We all agreed that the rooftop was our favorite spot, a lovely place to take breakfast or to sit in the sun after a long day winding through the souks. Great location , a 15 minute walk to most everything in the Medina. Best of all were the staff. We really can’t say enough, they’ll make your stay incredible! Zakaria greeted us upon arrival and we immediately adored him. He was filling in briefly for Abdullah Youssef who truly is an absolute gem. After moving on to a riad in Fes that was less than stellar, we sat at dinner and actually spoke of missing the staff at Dar el Souk!! Book this place immediately!!

The staff are incredible at Riad Dar El Souk. Abdul (day manager), Fatima (chef), and Youness (night manager) are always there with a smile to do everything they can for guests. We loved chatting to Abdul to learn more about Marrakech, and he had brilliant recommendations for us. The breakfast was lovely and very filling, and the rooms were comfortable and always really clean. The whole Riad is beautifully decorated and is a very welcome and calm place to relax in the mornings before going out to explore the city (with the central square just 5 minutes walk away), and in the evenings relaxing on the roof terrace to get some sunshine before showering and heading out for food was exactly what was needed. 10/10 would recommend everyone considers staying at Riad Dar El Souk!

Cons: The only very small thing to note is that on our very last morning the hot water was not working. However, it had been working perfectly the rest of the stay (and was lovely pressure and got hot very quickly all other days). As soon as we raised it, the manager Abdul immediately got to fixing the problem, so really that shows how good they are at helping and caring for customers!

We absolutely loved our stay at Dar El Souk. Everything was wonderful - the property itself is really beautiful, a lovely little courtyard garden with a plunge pool, up to the stunning roof terrace. I spent a couple of afternoons lounging on day beds, sipping mint tea and reading. Abdullah is a fabulous host, he really helped us with everything, from directions, recommendations, taxi prices, everything. Fatima is a wonderful cook; we had the pleasure of enjoying her home cooked dinner on the first night, which was probably one of the best meals we had in Marrakesh. The location is perfect - nestled right inside the Medina, close to countless restaurants, shops etc., but so quiet, you wouldn't know you were in the centre of it all. Every morning we woke up to nothing but birdsong. Our room was beautiful - clean, comfortable, and every room has it's own outside seating area. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

As mentioned by other guests, hosts in this riad are very hospitable and polite. Location is great, just 5-6 mins walk to the Jemma-el-Fna.

Cons: Unfortunately breakfast was below our standards. Not very nutritional. Out of 5 days we only got eggs twice and it was just one egg per person. Our host Abdallah and the rest of the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast changed a bit every day and was lovely. The rooftop patio was a nice place to hang out as it was fairly sunny during the day and quiet. And finally, the room we booked was big and comfortable. By the end of our stay my wife got sick and they were nice enough to give us hot water and lemon, even the owner came by to check on her.

Cons: Nothing.

Great location, only 5 minutes walking distance to Bahia Palace and Badi Palace, and 10 minutes to Jemaa El-Fina. The stuff was very polite and welcoming, always smiling and helpful. Even though, it’s located inside the Medina, the location is pretty quiet and you do not hear a single noise during the night.

Cons: The room was a bit dark, even opening the windows facing the courtyard, we always had to turn on the lights.

We loved how quiet and peaceful it was, we especially loved the rooftop terrace which was the perfect place to relax and escape the hustle & bustle from the markets. All of the staff were really helpful and friendly, they were kind enough to make us an early breakfast at 7am on the day we flew home (which we didn’t expect, as breakfast was usually served from 8.30am) They arranged our taxis to and from the airport and escorted us to meet our driver when we had to leave. The room was lovely, comfy bed and good shower and good WiFi - we felt really safe and welcome here 😄 thank you for a lovely stay!

We opted for Riad Dar el Souk due to unavailability at our next rental for our one-day-earlier arrival. Our decision proved immensely fortunate. This Riad is exceptional, commencing with a warm welcome in the breathtaking patio. Our room was spacious, the bathroom provided ample room for storing all our products and move around, and the shower offered rare, wonderful water pressure (usually rare in Morocco). After a serene night in a totally quiet environment, we relished a generous and delicious breakfast, the coffee was delicious too. I 100% recommend this Riad and hope to come back to Marrakech and stay there.

Cons: Attempting to extend our stay, we found it fully booked – no surprise for such a fantastic place with a welcoming atmosphere!

Cons: The room was a tad dark and the wifi was a little temperamental but worked well once switched off and on again.

The riad is stunning in photos but even more so in person. The look of the property and all of the services they provide were exactly as described. We were first time travelers to Morocco and it was very comforting to get what was expected. The daily breakfast was made to order and delicious. The rooms were stunning and very comfortable. The AC units worked well and helped a lot to beat the heat. The staff was amazing as well. Abdullah and Youness are the day and night time managers respectively. They both attended to all our needs courteously and efficiently. We needed transport to and from the train station. We also needed to get laundry done. Both needs were met without any issues. Overall it was a wonderful place to stay and I would stay again in the future and recommend it to others.

Cons: Nothing, it was as expected.

Very kind staff

Cons: The room had a lot of noise, and the room's Wi-Fi was not good. Compared to the previous riad we stayed at with a similar price, the decorations felt old-fashioned, and the courtyard seemed cramped and suffocating due to the abundance of plants. Additionally, the breakfast coffee wasn't satisfying. As you entered the riad, the initial sight was of a kitchen with an open door, which gave an untidy impression.

My home away from home in Morocco...I will have spent 16 nights there by the time I finish my trip, am going back for 12 nights soon. It's a beautiful little riad, quiet and peaceful but just a short walk to the Jemaa el Fna and the souks...The staff is like family. There is nothing they won't help you with, always with a smile and kindness. Top marks! Breakfast (continental/Moroccan) yummy, a lovely salon and rooftop as well a wonderful variety of colourful rooms (I will have stayed in three of them). Dar el Souk is a hidden gem in Medina! Madi and all of the staff ensured that we would have an excellent stay. We got in quite late to Marrakech but Madi was able to organise an airport transfer and we arrived at our riad swiftly and without any issues. The staff helped us in with our luggage and provided us with recommendations for what to do around Marrakech. Although we only stayed here for 2 nights, we were given the full 5 star treatment. We had to check out early on Tuesday morning (6:30 AM) because we had a 3 day tour scheduled. The late night manager (I believe his name was Abdullah) was very kind and helped us check out early so we could make our tour on time. He even packed us a breakfast because we didn't have time for a sit down meal before we had to leave. All in all, we had an amazing time at riad Dar El Souk and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Marrakech. Thank you Madi and the entire staff for making our stay so pleasant!

I loved everything about the riad. Our room looked even better than in pictures. Breakfast was really good, we had it in a salon with a fireplace or up on the roof. I wish we had eaten dinner there, but there never was enough time. The staff was so incredible. They helped us with everything - booked us a spa when there were no spas available, helped me with bargaining for a carpet I really wanted - gave me tips on how much to pay and where to go. I also had a chance to meet the owner - a really kind lady. Overall this is the best place I’ve stayed at.

The location is nice and well maintained, all rooms have an outdoor space with a table and chairs to relax, you cannot hear much noise from Medina in the Riad (which is super important), the staff is friendly and they pay a lot of attention on all your requests. You will feel supported. They have plenty of options for tour and guides, I suggest Ciel d'Afrique hot air balloon, a unique experience. The breakfast is good.

Cons: Beds are not that comfortable and we had not a queen bed but two small beds side by side. The rooms are a little bit dusty.

We had the most lovely time here ! -Beautiful building and our room was fantastic, I loved the mattress it was the best nights sleep I can remember having in a while ! Room was equipped with great storage for clothes and suitcases and lovely seating area. I also really appreciate the hair dryer with diffuser in the bathroom The staff Abdul and Fatima were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Abdul went out of his way to arrange a birthday cake for my partner on his birthday and it was delicious ! He was there whenever we needed him to give advice and help us with an queries. And Fatima makes the most delicious msemen pancakes for the breakfast and is just so sweet and lovely! We also met the owner too who was a lovely woman. The location is fantastic l, just a short stroll to DJema el fina and was in the Mellah area, it’s nicely tucked behind a little side street but then it open up right into a souk we loved it ! The breakfast consists of fresh baguette with jams honeys, fruit and tea as standard and then each day has some different additional items which was great for variations

Cons: I can’t think of anything I didn’t like in particular but would add a little bit more lighting in the bathroom - there was lighting but might be good to add an additional light near the shower cubicle - but that’s just a really minor thing

Okey so atmosphere in this Riad El Souk is perfect, hosts always will help you and are very kind, everything is so beautiful inside, the interior seems to be so authentic and luxurious that you want to stay there forever, you may have breakfast on the rooftop or first floor near pool which is also spectacular. Our room was pretty comfortable and cozy, found everything what we need, so basically everything was nice 😉

Cons: At first day what we didn't like was like we dealt arrangement with stuff that a driver will take us from airport to riad for 15euros which is ok, but driver brought us till Medina of Marrakesh, its old-town, and I don't know he found some kind of random guy and said that he will lead us to riad, ok nice, but after like 200-300meters before we reached our final destination that random guy insisted for tips, ok whatever I thought, Marrakesh ir Marrakesh, wanted to give like 1-2 euros, but he insisted for 5 euros, and even said it's part of the deal and was arranged before, but it wasn't.. Second thing, Riad is really nice, but has to fix some basic things like doors for example, we couldn't close them properly with lock 🔐 you can always see like a gap space between doors, so basically it doesn't feels safe you know. And maybe last thing air conditioning, its working, but at night still were a bit cold, ofcourse january is not the hottest period here, however inside wanted more warmth 🙂

Myself and my husband have just got back from the most incredible few days spent in Marrakesh at the Riad Dar El Souk. The staff were very attentive and polite; and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The riad itself is absolutely stunning. Like stepping into paradise. We spent a lot of time on the roof terrace also- which is very relaxing and a great sun trap. The Moroccan mint tea was delicious, and the breakfast on the rooftop in the morning was lovely. The staff; particularly Abdul spent a lot of time making sure we had transfers, excursions planned and booked for us, and dinner reservations sorted. He made sure our stay went as smoothly as possible.

Cons: There was only one small issue with our room - the bed was quite hard and small (it had a frame) in which my 6ft 2 husband struggled to fit in length wise. But if you’re smaller than 6ft you’ll be fine! The pillows are also too large and hard. So this is where we marked down for comfort. We also found that some of the other guests had a lack of respect for others staying in the riad - Sound proofing isn’t great so we were woken every night by a number of the guests- staying up late (till 3am) laughing and joking loudly, and some guests arriving late in the night shouting in the courtyard again at 3am.. having no thought to who may be sleeping directly in the rooms off of the courtyard (us!). **This is no fault of the staff or the property - just purely the inconsiderate guests.

This riad is a very beautiful lush oasis in the busy medina. The riad is beautifully decorated with tons of lush green plants everywhere. There is also a very nicely decorated saloon of which we ate breakfast in several mornings. My partner and I stayed in the Sagha room which was located on the upper floor so it was nice and quite. It was beautifully decorated with traditional Morocco decor. The room was spacious for the 2 of us and the bathroom as well was spacious and very clean with a good shower. The beds were quite comy and the pillows were soft comfy western pillows which was nice. In the morning we awoke to the sound of the birds flying around and chirping which was nice. I found the beds here to be the most comfortable out of the places we stayed. The terrace was a relaxing place to unwind as well. The riad is close to a mosque and I enjoyed relaxing on the terrace listening to the call to prayer. Location of the riad to the main Jamma El Fna Square is very good about a 10 min walk. Staff was pleasant and helpful though could be a little aloof at times.

Cons: We felt the breakfast could have been a little more varied. Before booking i messaged to see if eggs would be available to which the answer was yes but the breakfast mostly consisted of carbohydrates of crepes\bread\morroccon pancakes and a little bit of fruit. Breakfast had specific hours which we noticed when we ate a little later it was not very warm and coffee tasted like it was sitting for a awhile so my suggestions would be to eat earlier in the morning. We had dinner here one night as well. It was very tasy but the pastilla was a little dry which gave me the impression it was not as fresh as it could have been. We also had a lamb tajine which was very good but it did not come with couscous as specified on the menu. when i enquired about it i was told it does not come with couscous even though the menu specifies otherwise? The establishment may want to update the menu if this is the case. I felt the riad could use a bit more ambiance at night - the main area with the plunge pool was completely dark at night so not very picturesque and the terrace i noticed had little fountains and candles that would add some ambiance that were not used. The seating area outside of our room and the cushions in the common areas was a little dirty so that could have been better maintained.

If you’re looking for the perfect escape from the busy medina, look no further. Riad Dar El Souk is absolutely beautiful and a tranquil oasis that is just a short walk away from brilliant restaurants and shopping in the souks. We stayed two nights but could have stayed much longer. Abdul the Riad manager was fantastic, relaxed and informative. He helped us so much, gave us tips for shopping and navigating the souks, organised a day trip to Essouria for us even when we were staying in a different hotel much further out of Marrakech, and let us store our bags at the Riad on our last day in Marrakech and arranged a taxi for us to the airport. He made us feel so welcome and comfortable at his Riad, and the rest of the staff were all so happy and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and our room had everything we needed and more. We would definitely go back and recommend Riad Dar El Souk to anyone.

Truly Exceptional... Better than 10/10 or 5/5. From the top to the bottom this is the BEST Riad Hotel to stay at bar none. The staff is incredible. Abdul, Mohammed, Fatima- really the best of the best in hospitality; attentive, and anticipate any and everything you may need beforehand. Owned by a truly fantastic owner Madeline, who really truly cares about you and the experience at her property. The building itself and the rooms are decorated in truly Moroccan authentic wares. Beds are very comfortable, showers hot and perfect after a long day of walking the area whether on tours or by yourself this property is located perfectly in the medina to explore at will. Breakfast is also exceptional. Plenty of food and juice, tea, coffee, etc to start your day. The property is well maintained and ultra clean. If you are reading this and on the fence.. book this RIAD. I've stayed at 5* hotels in many cities across 54 countries. This really is 5* in every way. As I said earlier, truly Exceptional

The riad is not close to the main road and you may need a porter to help carry your luggage. Unlike other riads, riad staff didn't help us carry the luggage up the stairs to our room on the second floor. We also had to carry our own luggage down when we checked out. Riad decor was very nice and the patio was a joy. Only bread for breakfast with no warm food (e.g. egg, sausages...).

It was my first time in Morocco but the staff was so kind and made my visit feel safe and relaxed. As I was there in November, the tile floors were cold so slippers would have been a nice touch (another place in Rabat where I stayed the days immediately before offered these in the room) - but I just doubled my socks. ;) The location is very tucked away... I felt generally safe as there are other riads closeby but I didn’t stay out too late. Breakfast daily was yummy, and the garden in the courtyard lovely. Very instagrammable facilities all around as well! :)

The souk was relatively easy to find, we had our driver walk us to the door as the cars can’t go in the narrow lainways. Everything was beautifully arranged and comfortable. We were given a room on the ground floor so we asked to be moved higher as we were just getting over food poisoning we got on our tour we needed to sleep and they graciously accommodated us. We were very thankful for this. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious and plenty. The only thing that left a bad taste in our mouth was an envelope that was left in our room asking for a tip for the staff. NEVER has this happened in any of the souks in Morocco or anywhere else in the world. We would have left the tip anyway but this way we felt forced to and I don’t like being guilted into giving money! Bad way to end an otherwise nice stay.

Quiet Riad away from the main streets but easy walking distance to all main sights in the medina. Great, friendly service from all staff. Lovely large room (Sagha) with outside porch area. Highly recommend for your stay in Marrakech.
