A beautiful riad in a quiet setting on the edge of the medina, within walking distance of all the top attractions. The room and bathroom are spacious, and are just like the photos on the website and the towels were changed daily Taxis can pull up right to the back of the riad, which is a huge advantage when loading and unloading luggage.. Mohamed, the manager, and his staff were fantastic. He gave us excellent tips and suggestions for our stay in Marrakech. He was always ready to help and made sure we had a wonderful holiday. The typical Moroccan breakfast was delicious,. This riad is highly recommended, and we will definitely be back.

All like pictures and even better. Our family of four enjoyed the full experience. The room was cozy. The bathtub felt like true spa. The balcony was superb. The roof terrace was wonderful. The welcome dinner was the true cherry on top! Taxi station nearby. Interesting walk (even with our 5 and 3 YO) from Koutoubia.

Cons: You might want to light up the room for some cases (ex packing your luggage), but all was wonderful!

Struttura bellissima, una perla nascosta nella Medina. Camera ampia e spaziosa.

The beautiful courtyard, the terrace, the peace, quiet and tranquility of the Riad (which was very welcome after spending the day in Hustle & bustle of Marrakech!) and of course our fantastic hosts Mohamed and Hussain

Cons: It was a little far from the central area of the Medina and i would say in more of residential area. It’s approx 15 minutes from the start of the Souks and about 35 minutes from the main square. But there are some very good and reasonably priced restaurants close by - strongly recommended Limoni, which is less than 5 minutes away.

Servito in giardino.

So convenient for souks, taxis, sights etc… inc food stops, restaurants, ATMs (cash is obviously king). It was authentic accomodation and in a good location within easy reach of everything we planned to see but at night felt so peaceful despite the frenetic pace of Marrakesh just outside the door. Mohammed and Yusef speak very good English and were so helpful.

Cons: Not a complaint but in parts the decor could do with a refresh but the beds were comfy and clean and the bathroom was lovely with a good strong, hot shower. Good value for money.

Ничего! Полный треш!

Cons: This is the worst riad! I have been to Morocco many times, this was the worst! No one has ever cheated me out of money like they did! An old, stinking riad, with bedbugs and insects! Everything is dirty! The breakfast is terrible! The cutlery is broken! You have to ask them to bring you a clean plate! The air conditioners do not work! The pool is dirty! The plants are not green like in the photo, but dried up and dead! The sockets do not work! In addition to this, they do not give me the owner's number and do not return my money! I will complain! They advise you to choose any other riad, even for 10 € a night, and it will be 100 times better, I am sure, than this lousy and rotten riad!!! They can't even buy new dishes for breakfast, they are all broken!

A beautiful retreat of peace in the middle of the chaos from Marrakesh. It is walking distance to the medina and the big square. The guys working the Riad are the most wonderful people. Cons: I’ve traveled a lot, but I’ve never had such a bad experience as I did here. We were really looking forward to staying in the Petit Patio room, but when we arrived, they said it was unavailable. Instead, they showed us a room that was clearly not ready for guests—damp, overgrown, and with no air conditioning working. In the scorching heat of Marrakesh, it was absolutely impossible to stay in a room like that. They tried to convince us to stay there, but we refused. Then, they offered us the Gallery Suite, which was supposed to be an “upgrade,” but honestly, it wasn’t. The air conditioning was weak and didn’t cool the room down at all. After a long day, we just wanted a comfortable place to rest, and we didn’t get that. The worst part was the manager, Frederick. He wouldn’t answer our calls and only texted, which was super frustrating. When we asked about a refund, he said it was nonrefundable because the Gallery Suite was an “upgrade.” It wasn’t. We should’ve been notified ahead of time about the issues with the Petit Patio room, so we could have canceled within the policy window. They just wanted to get paid and didn’t care about customer satisfaction at all. I won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

The riad is charming and after a hot dusty day in Marrakech it's the perfect retreat. Mohamed and Yousef were both great, Mohamed was particularly helpful.

Cons: The riad needs a lick of paint of a refresher, it's getting tired. Pictures in Booking.com appear to have been taken a while back and the owner needs to invest in replastering in places, repainting in general and replacing some of the furnishings eg. floor rugs with holes.

We spent 12 nights at the Riad Zaouia 44 as a family with two children (11 and 8). The riad was the perfect place to stay in Marrakech and we would all go back at the drop of a hat. We stayed in the Salon Suite which was large, spacious and comfortable with an excellent balcony overlooking the leafy courtyard. The rooftop terraces were lovely places to relax as well as down in the courtyard, where the temperature was always nice and cool however hot it was out in the medina. The location is also great, not too far from the buzzing Bab Taghzout, where there are plenty of places to eat. Best of all though was the staff. Mohamed and Youssef couldn’t do enough for us, they were always on hand to answer questions or help out, and the kitchen staff provided an exceptional breakfast every morning. Thanks for providing us with a memorable stay in Marrakech!

Nice garden in the middle of the Riad. Breakfast was also good.

Cons: 5:00 starts praying and the minaret was very close so it was very loud. The room blankets and outside furniture very old. Taking into account how high is the price per trim it should be more invested in decoration and furniture. Location of the Riad to the Center is around 25min walk.

Beautiful riad! Beautifully and carefully renovated and decorated. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The courtyard with its garden and pool has an amazing atmosphere!

Cons: Seems like the owner has not been around lately as the common living room is a bit carelessly taken care of and appropriated by the staff, the bathing towels are very old, the sofa bed is deformed,… Staff is ok, but does not show you around the riad when you arrive. Beautiful building inside and very comfortable room. The decor is very minimalist. It could use some more touches here and there to lift it up to a perfect and ideal spot. Nice roof terrace and good location in the north of Medina - close to the soeks and a “ real “ less touristy part of town. Very quiet inside, perfect for sleeping. The hospitality and kindness and high quality customer service provided by Mohamed was very appreciated. Our stay got a “personal touch” and it felt like staying at home with a friend that knows where to join in and when to give guests some space. We got lots of information about the city and safety. And help with arranging a shuttle when other hotel we stayed in just ignored our requests. Very professional.

Cons: The Riad’s courtyard is very chilly in winter. It would be better to have breakfast on the roof top ;-) what we did last day. But in summer time this must be a wonderful escape from the heat. Also, the room had a heater so it can be warmed up to somebody’s liking.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. We had dinner at the Riad one night and it was the best meal we had during our visit to Marrakech. Home cooked and delicious.

Cons: One thing that wasn't ideal, but is out of the control of the Riad, is that there is a mosque very close by, and the morning call to prayer around 6:30am is very loud.

The hosts Mohammed and Yusef were extremely friendly and helpful, which made the stay comfortable and smooth. The riad was clean and we liked the option to sit in the shade downstairs or the sun upstairs. The room was nice and clean too, although cold in the evenings so bring a jumper! Breakfast was simple but good. While not in the very centre of the medina we found the location good - 15/20 min walk to the centre, taxis could be picked up two minutes away and would drop you right back outside the riad door. There was a bank/ATM about 5 minutes away too.

Cons: The rooms did get cold, particularly in the evenings. It might be nice to provide some disposable slippers as the floor is very cold and consider little heaters.

The staff were so warming and lovely every day. The riad is beautiful! The rooftop is breathtaking.

Cons: We went in Feb, so the room is a bit cold so we had an electric blanket but only one one side so extra heating for cold months would be good. In the middle of the riad as it’s open, it’s open so also outdoor heaters would help too but I can’t fault anything else as everything was exceptional.

I’ve been in the riad for a week and the staff is very friendly and working hard for your pleasure! The riad itself is hidden in a small street just outside the marketcentre, you wouldn’t know it was there if you don’t have a map. When you need some shade you can sit outside on the ground floor and if you want to bake in the sun you can just chill on the rooftop. If you are in the mood for some wellness there is a possibility to get massages or a hammam as well, we booked the hammam and it was very nice! I really loved the stay!

Cons: Close to a mosque with loud minarettes

The way Mohamed made our trip the best we ever had is indescribable! He was there 24/7, taking care of all our requests and helping us. I’ve never seen such an amazing human being before! He made us feel at home and was a big help with navigating through a foreign country! Big thank you to him and also the whole team! We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay at the Riad Zaouia 44 more and we will be back next year for sure! Hope you know what a dime as an employee you got there! Best wishes from Vienna!

Super friendly and welcoming staff. Mohamed and the team shared a lot of helpful information already before our arrival and were always available during our stay when we had questions or needed something. The suite is great with an own small courtyard and the bed very comfortable. The riad is beautiful with a nice courtyard for usage by all guests, incl. a small bassin to refresh during summer. The two dinners we had at the riad were delicious and the table nicely arranged at the open fireplace (we stayed in winter). There is also a nice rooftop with a beautiful view, and the riad also has an own hammam that can be booked by guests. We enjoyed our time and felt immediately "at home" thanks to the really fantastic staff.

Cons: It can get a bit cold in winter. While an electric radiator was provided in the room, breakfast is served in the courtyard (or the not heated communal space). So for people sensitive to cold, bring a jacket for breakfast ;) The Riad is located a 20 mins walk from the touristic center of the medina, in a more residential (and therefore, authentic) part. We liked this, but people who want to stay directly in the center of the medina should be aware of this. The shower did not get hot twice, but has been fixed by the staff within a few minutes.

It felt very traditional. The bed was comfortable and our baby daughter had her own bed to sleep in. The staff were very nice and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast that kept changing every day, but was always typical Moroccan food. The alcoholic beverage options and the prices. The massage was really good and a great price.

Cons: It was winter so the room got and stayed very cold. The room were I got the massage was also very cold, the massage would have been better if the room had been warmer.

This Riad is definitely beyond your expectation. We've tried three different riads in Marrakesh and they all pretty good, but this one definitely is the best. the booking rate is for sure underscored. All the riads are in the old town and quite hard to find, but this one the car still can be reached out and Mohammod is very helpful to send a lot useful information before. The way to the riad is like a secret garden and get into it you will absolutely love it. It is very quite and beautiful, very cool. the service, the room, the dinner and breakfast are definitely out of 10, we also tried massage which is really a very Moroccan professional way. worth to try. At the end we dont have cash and Mohammod kindly help to pay for us, they are really friendly and there to help. Absolutely the best. If you are still deciding, this raid is definitely worth to try.

Cons: there is no 12 of 10 for me to score it.

We had a fantastic short stay at this beautiful riad in Marrakech. From the moment we arrived, Mohamed and the entire team made us feel incredibly welcome. They were warm, friendly, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Mohamed went above and beyond, providing us with valuable local tips and even assisting us in arranging a hire car, which made our trip so much easier. The riad also offered a lovely massage service, which was a perfect way to unwind during our stay. Traveling with my young son, I was especially impressed with how kind and accommodating the staff were towards him. It made our experience even more memorable. The breakfast each morning was a highlight—delicious, fresh, and the perfect start to our days exploring Marrakech. We truly enjoyed our time here and highly recommend this riad to anyone visiting the city. Thank you, Mohamed, and the entire team for making our stay so special!

Big room and nice location. At night the lights make the house very cozy and retouch the flaws.

Cons: Facilities seem rather run down, the room was super dark and overall the expectations based on the reviews and photos were not met. Additionally the service was below average and not to local standards. Due to the season the room was also very cold when arriving.

Great looking riad with comfy bed, nice bathroom and spacious bedroom. Breakfast was delicious. Location is good, about 15-20min walk from them plaza. To get to riad you have to walk through a rough looking area but that is very common in Marrakesh. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

We stayed at this beautiful Riad during wintertime (mid December), and we had a wonderful and relaxing time. The service was really great, the manager and staff are very helpful and sweet. I could imagine this would be a great place during summer with the little pool and the rooftop facilities. Our two girls (3y and 7y) really enjoyed all the plants in the yard, and our big room, bathtub and own balcony to relax in the afternoon.

Cons: The facilities are a bit old. The carpets on the floor and lounge furnitures on the rooftop.

Amazing location, the room was so comfortable and cosy. The staff were so helpful and made our stay memorable. This location truly offers a remarkable experience. The comfortable and cozy room provides a welcome retreat. Helpful staff members enhance the overall stay. Every detail contributes to a memorable visit. We appreciate the exceptional hospitality.

Cons: Ants in the room. Lights are very dull. But overall you can't fault this placeWhile tiny ants meandered across the floor, the dim lighting added a certain ambiance. The gentle hum of the air conditioner provided a subtle background noise. Despite these minor observations, the overall experience proved quite agreeable. It's a place one could easily find comfort in.

Modern take on a classical Marrakesh Riad, with calming minimalist designed rooms around green courtyards. It's in the northern part of the old city, close to all tourist attractions. It's very quiet at night. The hosts gave us detailed information before arrival which was very helpful.

Cons: There are some shady characters on the streets surrounding the Riad, hassling visitors and asking for money when visitors find themselves lost in the maze of the old city. We were given good and honest advice about this by the hosts in advance, and we would have been wiser to follow it!

Great little riad, calm and peaceful with wonderful hosts, Mohammed and his team couldn't do enough for us and it was very much appreciated! Comfortable room with everything we needed, delicious breakfasts, the sunbeds on the roof were a welcome treat and we enjoyed a quick dip in the pool (even though it was a little chilly). We would absolutely stay here again 😊

Cons: There was nothing we didn't like - we were worried beforehand that the bathroom might not have a door as we'd read they often don't in riads, but our room even had that so there was nothing we could fault 🙂

The attitude of the staff was amazing! They were really helpful and tended to us when my partner had food poisoning. The inner yard is cozy and refreshing. The breakfast was tasty, even if it missed vegetable options.

Cons: The place is understaffed. Mohamed and Yussef are doing a great job, but they don't get a break and backup. We've been there for 7 nights, and they didn't seem to have any time off. The room had no kettle, no fridge and no desk. We did get hot water or cold drinks if we needed it, but we needed to go downstairs. The air conditioning unit would use some maintenance or an upgrade as it barely kept our room at 26 degrees (at the 17 degrees set temperature and max power). Shower/bath water temperature and pressure varied a lot throughout our stay. All in all, the self assigned 4 star rating is not justified. It's more at the 3 star level, it seems like management could certainly invest a bit more

Suites we booked: Menzeh Wahed Suite + Gallery Suite. I loved the riad’s contemporary look, if you are someone who loves creating content online, every corner of this Riad is basically IG-worthy. What elevated this experience the most for me are the hosts and the caretakers of the Riad. Mohamed who is usually the host made sure we were taken care of even before we arrived in Marrakesh, he was easy to reach out to and was super helpful leading up to our trip. Imad who was the host during our stay went above and beyond to accommodate us. He is so attentive and just an all-around wonderful host. He made sure that we were able to find our way around the city, gave us the best tips for taxis, souks, etc. The rest of the care takers were also very friendly and they do a great job at maintaining the place. The whole staff made sure we had a pleasant stay at the riad. If I ever get the chance to come back to Marrakesh, I would definitely stay here again.

Cons: In the Gallery Suite, the AC is set up inside the top shelf of the wardrobe, which means the cool air doesn’t properly spread around the room. Only certain parts of the room had cool air blowing on it so it was a bit hard to relax in the room especially since we stayed here in august which is usually the hottest month in Morocco. Other than that, everything else about this Riad was great.

A beautiful riad and a sanctuary away from the busyness of Marrakech. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Mohammad! Lovely breakfast, large and comfortable rooms and an all round great place to stay.

Cons: The entrance to the riad is underwhelming as there's no signage at all which seems strange and you have to knock and wait for someone to let you in. The pool is a lot smaller than it looks in photos. Fine for 4/5 people but too small for proper swimming, but perfect for a dip to cool off and kids loved it!

Great hoist, Mohamed and Iman did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Very informative with all information to get around. What to expect in terms of not getting scammed getting around to tourists attraction using google maps. Complimentary water and tea on arrival. Location wasn’t to bad in a residential area about 15 mins walk from souks.

Cons: Rooms are a bit run down needs revamping( walls have mould/damp stains)in the petite patio. Fixtures in the room are as seen in pictures however pictures are very filtered. Mould stench smell from petite patio even if it’s in an open outdoor space. Stench from bath? drains Wifi interruption over two nights but quickly fixed by staff. Pool not working over a course of two days. No Ac in petite patio ( looking back at the reviews seems to have been broken from Nov 2023. Small fan in place. Basic breakfast, no choice or options. No menu. Fried eggs every morning. 1 iron for 8 rooms with no ironing board which does not work properly. Riad is in a very remote area with no name signs just looks like a random door.

If I could give 6 stars I would have given it to Riad Zaouia 44, Mohamed was so thoughtful and very helpful. This was our first time visiting Marrakech, he had WhatsApp me several times to make sure I had everything I need. During our stay, he went on and beyond to help me with a lost item, even it’s not found but I really appreciate his efforts. The room we stayed was the suite, big enough for us and the two kids. The breakfast was awesome and the courtyard was just so peaceful and away from the hustling and bustling. It’s a bit walk from the Medina, about 6-8 mins but once you know the area it was easy to get around. Mohamed and his crew also helped us moved the luggage up and down the stairs. They even carried them to the car service that was stop one block away from the Raid. All and all, if u don’t mind walking an extra two mins from the center of Medina, this is def the great choice, our kids age 10 and 7 had no problem walking with us. highly recommended this Riad.

Had a very enjoyable stay at this riad- the courtyard full of beautiful greenery and a small pool feels so very peaceful and soothing, providing a complete shield from the rush&madness of Marrakech streets! :) The room was also lovely (stayed in Menzeh Jour Suite)- many authentic architectural features but not ‘over the top’, which was a great fit for us. Very Spacious, comfortable and practical. The staff were all absolutely lovely and caring; looking after us very well! Namely Mohamed- the House Manager was fantastic!! Very friendly and helpful- he helped us arrange various things such as private guide, trip to desert, etc. even prior arrival; transportation and overall support with getting around or anything you may need once arrived; and caring- he would personally wait until all his guests return to the riad late at night to ensure everyone gets the support they might need, quite unseen! Mohamed is an absolute superstar and a great asset to the business!
Overall a wonderful experience, absolutely recommended and would definitely come back!!

Our stay at Riad Zaouia 44 was nothing short of exceptional, largely thanks to the outstanding hospitality provided by Mohamed. From the moment we stepped in, he took excellent care of us, ensuring our needs were met and going above and beyond to assist with any queries we had. The room was not only a good size but also impeccably clean, offering a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. Mohamed's attention to detail and genuine concern for our well-being added an extra layer of warmth to our stay, making Riad Zaouia 44 a standout choice for those seeking both comfort and exceptional service in Marrakech.

Cons: It's worth noting that we encountered occasional issues with the shower, where it would unexpectedly turn cold and, at times, took longer than expected to heat up. Great architecture and rooftop, you can really feel that there has been a lot of thought put into the riad. Breakfast was nice and overall the location is good, especially since it's not directly located in the medina.

Cons: - Staff could've been more attentive: We were asking for tips several times but nobody really took the time to give us any recommendations, also denying water for example - Outside the door is a bit sketchy: We, two women, had several issues right in front of the entrance door with people waiting in front of the door, asking for money or trying to get in. No help was offered by the riad staff - You can find better value for money: Overall it was a nice experience but I think you can find better riads in Marrakech that offer similar comfort for less money

The room and bed were big and very comfortable, and the decor is classy, understated and chic - exactly as shown in the photos. Breakfast was tasty and served everyday in the very beautiful courtyard - a very relaxing place to retreat to. The staff were just fantastic, they really looked after us and were on hand at all times and responsive before arrival via WhatsApp, answering a few queries I had and arranging taxi collection from and to the airport. Mohamed also provided helpful advice when there. Housekeeping also did a wonderful job, the room was spotless. The shower is a rainfall shower so bring a shower cap ladies if you use one - excellent hot water pressure. We had a nice dinner on the roof terrace on the day we arrived.

Cons: Rooms are a little dark, and no full length mirrors in the room. Beers are expensive (although alcohol is expensive generally and heavily taxed, but price comparable to fancy bars in the town so you may prefer to wait until you are out). The Riad itself is so quiet and peaceful but be aware that there is a narrow but often very busy road to navigate which can be quite chaotic and stressful when going out, even if just going to the nearby taxi rank. We found the dust and fumes to be overwhelming when the traffic was bad (motorbikes mainly) - I wish I had brought a mask with me to help with this. This would be true if you stay anywhere in the medina though so not a complaint of the Riad at all.

The stay passed wonderfully. The riad is lovely, the room was a large 50m2, very nicely decorated and well equipped. It was cleaned every day. Mohamed was a great host, he took care of us as best he could. Location very close to the Medina. The downside was very poor internet in Douiria room but on the Patio it was very good. Breakfast although tasty was basically the same thing for 7 days , in sweet form. Without any vegetables unfortunately. All in all I am very satisfied and will definitely return to this Riad 🧡 Best Regards Magda & Monika

Google Maps fort utile

The riad has a beautiful enterior, it is calm and clean. There are large rooms, large bathrooms, it is quite comfortable. The dinner was the best, we had in Morocco. We liked the location, we loved the green inside.

Cons: The air condition was a little bit dirty and noisy, it needs some refreshments and maintenance.

I had the pleasure of booking a stay, and I must say it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the outstanding service provided by the staff made us feel right at home. I want to extend a special thanks to Mohamed, who was not only incredibly helpful but also one of the nicest individuals we encountered during our trip to Morocco. He went above and beyond to guide us and make us feel comfortable, ensuring that our every need was met. The Riad itself offers a delightful oasis in the heart of Morocco. The pool was perfect for a refreshing dip on hot days, and the terrace provided a good view of the surroundings. What's even better is that you have the option to enjoy some shade or bask in the sun, making it a versatile spot for relaxation. The overall experience at The Riad was so enjoyable that I'm already planning my next visit. Without a doubt, I will be returning, and I will wholeheartedly recommend this place to my friends for their future trips. The Riad and its exceptional team, especially Mohamed, made our stay truly memorable.

Cons: You need to walk around 15 minutes to the center, but taxi is also a good option if needed.

What we saw looked nice but….

Cons: This is an unusual story as we were booked in the night after the Moroccan earthquake. We arrived at the riad but were told by the manager, after checking in with passports etc, that it was too dangerous to stay and that we should go somewhere else. A refund would be given. We followed his advice. Stayed and paid in another location. However …. Still no refund. Nor any replies from Mr Baptist to my emails. Very unhappy about that as a refund was promised.

The breakfast was included in the price which was good. The staff were welcoming and happy to help with anything we needed.

Cons: The location was a bit far out of the medina, I had stayed in a different hostel the night before so was comparing them and this one is a bit far out. Also, the air conditioning in the room was not good. It didn’t cool down the room very much at all and made our night sleep difficult. We were not able to check in at 12 as I had been told, and the cleaning staff seemed in no rush to get our room ready despite us sat waiting for it for 2 hours.

We loved the entire courtyard area including pool, gardens and seating areas. The rooftop was ideal for uninterrupted sunbathing. Air-conditioned rooms. Very comfortable beds. Great breakfasts and evening meal on day of arrival. By far the most exceptional thing of all, is Mohamed the host. Any lack in any other area was made up for by him. A wonderful person who cannot do enough for you. We thank you so much Mohamed.

Cons: The supplementary bed (single/sofa bed) was uncomfortable. The air con unit could be better placed so that the cold air fills the room more efficiently. The approach to the Riad was a little shocking on arrival. But typical of the Riads in the Medena. Again, any lack in any area was made up for by Mohamed and his team.

The interior was good and according to expectations. The staff was super friendly, always available and happy to help. Even though it was very hot outside, the Riad is fresh and cool. They offer a basic, but very complete breakfast (coffee/tea, eggs, local jams, butter, bread, juice and local version of pancakes). The pool is small but perfect to cool down after a hot day outside.

Cons: Wifi did not reach my room, so it was hard to work from there (I was on the third floor). The beds we're smaller than expected (I'm not that tall and my feet we're hanging) and the AC could have worked a little better. The outside of the riad does not match the clean and well maintained inside, so don't be scared when your taxi tells you that you have arrived and don't get mislead by the neighborhood. Once you go through the little black metal door with no sign whatsoever and some trash outside from the neighbor, you're inside the fresh and cozy interior. The shower wasn't draining as fast as required for the water flow, so don't expect very long baths. Also, the floor around the pool is very slippery, so beware not to trip and fall, as me and some other guest (that I'm aware) while I was there.

Mohamed and Imad were amazing, really helpful and available to any requests we could have. They give a lot of advices and make life easier for us. Many thanks to them! Breakfast was nice. The road was clean and comfortable

Cons: the lack of privacy in the room regarding the toilets and the bathrooms was a problem for us as we were a group of 3 friends and they were no doors linking the main bedroom and the bathroom/toilets. Or course it’s not directly in front of it. but we needed to say when we’re going to take a shower or go to the toilets as nothing separated both spaces. the third bed (sofa/bed) wasn’t that comfortable. the wifi wasn’t that good sometimes

This hotel is a proper gem and I can only think of positive aspects: the hotel is splendid and really comfortable, the rooftop is beautiful and the service was impeccable. I would definitely go back if i get to visit Marrakesh again, without the slightest hesitation.

Cons: The only slight minor aspect that is not even so much of an issue is the walk to make it to the souk and central medina - just a tiny bit long. But that really is a minor comment.

My family and I recently stayed at Riad Zaouia 44 in Marrakech, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The riad's simplistic design created a calming atmosphere, which was a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the standout features of our stay was the manager, Mohamed. He was exceptionally friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the city, providing us with great tips and advice on how to best navigate and enjoy Marrakech. The food was fantastic, and the staff were all incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that our family of four had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay in Zaouia44. Some of us had already stayed at Zaouia44 in the past and it was a no-brainer to come back here when in Marrakesh. The riad is a beautiful and calm oasis, offering you a very special atmosphere which makes you feel you just gained an extra home. It's located a bit outside of the most touristy areas, but we liked that since this way you also get a feel of what local life in Marrakesh looks like. Mohamed goes above and beyond for all his guests and knows how to make you feel at ease. You can't have a better host and manager than him. The service and attention that goes into the guests is outstanding. Breakfast is delicious and leaves nothing to wish for. Without exaggerating, this place is one of the best, if not the best, we've ever stayed at.

Cons: To be honest, we cannot think of any dislike.

WOW! this riad exceeded our expectations! I’ve stayed in a few in Granada, Lamu and marrakech but Zaouia had all the charm! the location is easy to get to by foot from popular medina landmarks or by car as there is a well located road nearby. Our room was generous and we loved the bathroom + double sinks. My friend and I appreciate the warmth and treatment by Mohamad and Emaad (?) who gave us plenty of advice and went above and beyond respectfully! The host Mohammad and the staff who served us breakfast were always attentive and very helpful.. I loved the morning breakfast, fresh coffee and fresh juice. We always looked forward for it.

Cons: Although the room was of good size, pleasant and clean , there was no door to separate the bathroom. So it was a bit inconvenient when there was 3 of us in the room together with my adult daughter. . The sofa bed for her was also not so comfortable for long stay as we stayed there for 5 nights. There were no TV and ironing facilities in the room. Neither were there coffee making facilities or cups.. But we were told this is common for Riads. The location was a little bit far from the Souk/market s and signage outside the Riad to indicate its name would have been good.

The atmosphere is so nice and quiet. The beds were absolutely amazing and the room was big (grand patio suite) and had two sinks in the bathroom. Also Mohamed and his colleague were so friendly. The Hamam was lovely!

Cons: This Riad uses euro instead of Dirham as currency… We booked a hamam and massage which costed €35 and €45 per person. When we wanted to pay, the euro price was suddenly converted to Dirham (daily conversion rate) and had to be paid in cash. We lost money at the ATM and again in the Riad, and therefore we paid more than €80. The Riad is located in Morocco but charges in euros what leads to changing dirham prices for the same service…

Place is owned by French people that don't seem to care too much; their local manager Mohamed is a very sincere and interesting young man who makes up for the lack of real care and attention that this place breathes otherwise.

Cons: The entrance to Zaouia 44 is a totally non-descript small door (yes, that small door in the middle) in a dark and ugly alley - no sign or anything. Our Morroccan driver made the fatal misstake of asking a few bystanders for directions; in no-time we were surrounded by a gang of young and extremely aggressive man demanding payment for their 'service'. I didn't pay them anything but our driver felt so intimidated that he paid in the end. All the while the manager of the riad did nothing and just watched this typical Marrakech theatre unfold; he would later explain that he is not a local arab which supposedly makes it impossible for him to intervene. True or not - this was very unpleasant indeed and whatever the cause this really is something that the owners should deal with...I have been to Marrakech many times and this whole thing really was a total disgrace like I never experienced before.

We had a great two nights at Riad Zaouia. Both Mohammeds were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, thank you again! Breakfast was wonderful. Our room was spacious and the air conditioning worked well, the terrace outside our room was a lovely place to sit.

Cons: Mattress was too hard for us but we found this in most places we stayed in Morocco

The best thing about Riad Zaouia is Mohamed and the wonderful care and attention he gives his guests. His advice and help made our stay in Marrakech fabulous. That says a lot because the property is also stunning. Its a calm and peaceful haven after a busy day out and about. The decor is simple, with a nod to Moroccan style. The food is fresh and delicious. I would definitely recommend a meal in house. Thank you Mohamed and Mohamed for a wonderful stay.

we liked everything about the property, everything clean, nice. Mohamed is the best host ever, made us feel like at home. Welcomed us every time with mint tea ❤️ Suggested us a lot of things and made us feel comfortable in Medina too. we had a nice big room with our own terrace. There is also huge terrace on the rooftop - amazing for the sunset. the main floor of Rias also is quite big, with some tables for breakfast/lunch/ dinner and the relax area by the small pool - nice escape from the heat in noon.

We had a great time at Riad Zaouia 44. The two Mohammed were incredibly helpful and gave us lots of tips to get around. Amazing breakfast. Spotless rooms. The area was quiet and gave us a real feeling of Morocco. We will be back! P.s. Thank you so much for the amazing mint tea!!!

Cons: Everything was perfect! We just had some issues with hot water which were promptly solved!

Firstly the host, Mohammad was exceptional! He made our experience of Marrakesh as good as it was. The food he prepared was delicious and was on hand at all time for any queries or help. The breakfast was lovely each morning with a nice layout by the pool The dinner was also delicious cooked by Mohammed himself, served by candlelight. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable

Mohamed is also a great host and does an excellent job at making your stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend Riad Zaouia 44 and would gladly stay again.

We had a great time in the Riad Zaouia 44: a relaxing oasis in the exciting hustle and bustle of the city. Very nice reduced and homogeneous design and the tagines of the house were the tastiest we ate during our 5 day stay in the city. Moha and his super friendly and nice team were extremely hospitable and always available for helpful advice. We recommend to use the pick up service from the airport. By taxi this can quickly become adventurous... A la prochaine fois!

Property was gorgeous. However could review facilities, need more than 1 bin in a large room and bathroom, no drinking water or kettle provided, no tv in room. I understand they were going for minimal look but people need to "stay" in the rooms. Hidden gem, however not ideal for just girls to stay in the medina area in general, especially having to walk up the alley to have access to the riad. It was just 2 of us girls that stayed, the men around the area would always make sleazy comments when we walked out and around the area - so uncomfortable. Once we got a little lost in the medina area and a man offered that his friend would show us the way back to our riad, when we got back to the riad he was already there and he insisted that we pay his friend, even after HE offered to help - to a point where about 6 men ganged up and wouldn't let us go into our own riad. NOT SAFE FOR JUST GIRLS. The staff really dissapointed us. They were so lovely and super friendly when we arrived. On the first night they offered to take us out for a few drinks and shisha so we all went. When we came back the manager there Moha (Mohammed) lit up the fireplace and we ate mcdonalds while he continued to drink - he had a few too many and started to get a little touchy feely which i found so inapropriate so i called it a night and we went back to our room to sleep. after that night he kept inviting us to drink, we would decline offers, he would get wound up, give us a hard time, we booked an excu

The riad is very far, about 30 min walk by the easy route. But navigating through the souks is a bit daunting but w/ a gps app you can get there eventually. The riad isn’t well signed & no no. on the entrance doors & being pestered by the local kids offering help to get there through a longer route isn’t very settling. All these is compensated by the Riad beautiful architecture & the nice staff. They’ve taken a simplistic approach to the Moroccan style w/ clean hints of the Moroccan ornamentation. The bedroom we stayed in looked very sleek & contemporary. Our room didn’t have any locks, which we found a bit strange. There was no tv in the room,it didn’t bother us, but others may think differently. The shower was great but the water hitting the floor can be very noisy to others as most of the surface are just concrete & very echoing. We felt that the sheets weren’t well cleaned as I had running nose & sneezing due to the dust-mites.We must comment about the safe which isn’t bolted to anything,so I wouldn’t recommend leaving money in the safe as it can be taken w/ no problem. There is only one bin in the room, which we used in the W.C., leaving us to use plastic bags or cotton bags(which is largely used in Marrakech)to discard rubbish. We appreciate the minimalist looks of the riad but acoustic treatment solutions are much needed as during our stay some guests had children & we could hear a lot of banging & stumping noises throughout the day so falling asleep was a challenge.

Beautiful Riad but needs some updating and a good cleaning in places. Difficult to find but manager came out to meet our taxi and gave map and cell number in case we got lost. "Welcome dinner" ad fireplace on first night were lovely. Quite chilly in morning. A bit concerning that room is not locked when we were out.

We loved this beautifully restored, peaceful riad - an oasis of calm in Marrakesh with kind, welcoming staff who couldn't do enough for us and especially our kids. Breakfasts are simple but delicious with fresh bread and pancakes and great coffee. You should also have dinner at least once - fresh, delicious, authentic Moroccan food in the most atmospheric setting imaginable!

Beautiful riad! I recommend staying at a riad when you visit Marrakech and Zaouia 44 is amazing! We stayed in the Douria Suite. Tasty breakfast was served every day and you can book dinner as well. Make sure to arrange for airport pickup with the riad (15 euros) because finding the riad is near impossible (no sign or street number). Thank you Momo and Muhammad!!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and all in all it was a decent hotel. We visited in Dec so Morocco is pretty cold during this time and the hotel itself was cold(maybe due to it being a concreted building and internal design was kept to that). Momo the night manager tried his best to assist with the evening coldness and we were very thankful to him. The owners should maybe think off acquiring more blankets or more heaters during Dec for their guests. Other than an issue during checkout which Momo came through and assisted rectify, the hotel itself is in a great location and is well worth it

The pick up from the airport arranged by the hotel (€15) was uneventful. Arrival at the Riad is somewhat worrying as the there is no signage at all, with a small black door and only a large knocker. Without using the arranged transfer we would never have found it. We were welcomed by Momo who was very helpful and friendly. We had requested dinner on arrival as this had been offered in a confirmation e mail from the riad along with their offer to arrange an airport pick up. Momo was oblivious to this arrangement saying they may not have received the email but it had been the same email accepting the offer of the transfer. We went out to dinner and at a restaurant he had recommended near the Jemaa. Not the best choice for our first night in Marrakech. Wifi in the hotel on the first night was not working but the wifi service was available the next morning after around 9:00am We stayed in a balcony suite overlooking the courtyard which was very spacious, the bed being super comfortable but for some the bed may have been a little too firm. The furnishings are getting rather shabby with stains on the sofa and the curtains hanging off the hooks trailing on the floor. The room was serviced daily but the rug on the floor was never cleaned during our three day stay. The simple breakfast is served either around the courtyard or on one of the roof terraces. The furniture cushions on the rooftop furniture is all white plastic. Either dirty or wet!
