Riad ILayka Review. Great location just a short walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa main square. A beautiful building, atmospheric and spacious room with a great bed, and small but lovely roof top seating area complete with a small plunge pool. Very tasty breakfast, and amazing evening meals if you decide to eat there. Super attentive, friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Riad ,elegantly decorated in a chic traditional Moroccan style . Fabulous location close to the main square and souks . Down some winding alleys but you soon get your bearings !! The downstairs courtyard garden was lovely and the roof top terrace had several areas to sit and relax and a welcome little plunge pool to cool off in ! Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was fabulous with a beautiful shower cubicle and traditional tiles ! All the staff were amazing ! So friendly , attentive and helpful . We even got a picnic from Abdul when we missed breakfast and he helped us with our early morning taxi back to the airport which we really appreciated! We had a wonderful stay and I’d definitely recommend this Riad and hope we can return one day ! Thank You Team Ilayka

"If you are coming to Marrakesh, stay here at Riad lLayka ! I was so impressed by the high standard of cleanliness throughout the entire property. It’s rare to find a place this well-kept. Beyond the facilities, the staff are the real stars—always smiling and ready to help with a kind word They were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome especially Abdelilah . He is really kind sweet kid he even give us his phone number and told us to give him a ring if we had any difficulty in The town or anywhere around. I felt right at home and can't wait to return!"
Cons: There is nothing not to like, but I wish there was a little Fridge in the room to keep my drinks cool

Doskonała lokalizacja - w samym centrum mediny (ale w spokojnej części). Bardzo blisko głównego placu i targu. Zawsze pomocny i uczynny personel. Każda nasza prośba została spełniona. Riad Ilayka is truly beautiful and hard to describe in words – the interior is designed with great taste and attention to detail. The only small downside was that our room felt a bit dark, so stronger lighting would make the stay even more comfortable. On our first evening, we had dinner at the riad, and I can honestly say it was the most delicious meal we had during our entire stay in Marrakech. Compliments to the kitchen! The location is excellent, just a few minutes’ walk from the main square and all major attractions. At first, the maze-like streets leading to the riad can feel a little confusing, but once you remember the first few key turns, finding your way becomes very easy. Throughout our stay in Marrakech, we felt safe overall, although we did experience a few uncomfortable situations with people trying to deliberately mislead us in order to get money. If they don’t succeed, they can become aggressive, so it is best to ignore them completely, even if you get lost in the medina. You can always ask someone in a shop for directions – shops are everywhere, and most people are kind and genuinely willing to help. Still, a bit of caution is advisable, as some individuals unfortunately try to make quick money in dishonest ways. Finally, Riad Ilayka is a truly wonderful place with exceptionally warm and caring staff. I would especially like to mention one lovely young woman with beautiful curly hair, who arrived from France a few months ago (unfortunately, I don’t know her name). She surprised me with a gift for my birthday, and our room was decorated with rose petals – a gesture that truly touched us. Riad Ilayka comes highly recommended, and it is a place we would happily return to!
Cons: Nothing, everything was excellent.

Location
Cons: The lady working at front desk was rude and not helpful as we enquired about our money that was scammed when paid to the Riad. They have not at that stage made contact with booking.com and only after we insisted that we need feedback did she phoned the owner who replied: its not our problem!!! We still have not had any other reply since we left and are we of the opinion that the Riads platform was hacked on booking . Com and therefor they should take some respnsibility. Wouldnt recommend anyone to stay there as no assistance would be forthcoming if anything happened with your booking. We had to pay another nearly 900 Euro to keep our booking.!! Very sad indeed. Rather stay at a bigger hotel with infrastructure and people who have empathy with their guests.

This place is a gem in the middle of the medina. Peaceful and quiet, yet walking distance to everything. Beautiful room and bathroom,, nice terrasses and amazing breakfast. All the staff are wonderful as so helpful, but Adbo is exceptional! Felt very safe for single mother with teenage daughter. Riad Ilayka is absolutely beautiful. The moment you walk through the door it is a peaceful oasis. It is a gem in the Medina. Our room was the perfect blend of authentic charm and modern conveniences. We utilized their shuttle service from the airport and were met outside the Medina and escorted to the riad. We enjoyed a refreshing beverage upon our arrival and a delicious breakfast every morning. Abdul was an excellent host. The Riad was well maintained and clean and the breakfast was fantastic. If you are looking for an authentic morrocean experience, this is the place to stay in the heart of the medina. It can be confusing to get to the Riad and it's dark on the walk up to Riad at night so best off staying there in a group, not on your own.

Riad Ilayka is a beautiful Riad in the heart of the Medina, Very peaceful. The rooms are traditional decor with dark wood and walls. There are outdoor areas to shade from the heat of Marrakesh and side areas in the courtyard. On the first floor, there are another few shaded seating areas.. There's also a seating area on the roof (covered), where you can see the rooftops for miles and sunbathing beds with umbrellas. Breakfast is a traditional breakfast a selection of mini bread rolls,, pancakes, flatbread and spreads, yogurt, fresh juice and tea, everything was tasty. All the staff were friendly and accommodating particularly Azzadine. The location is great and the Souks near the Riad are a little calmer than the main square and have a great selection of goods both modern and traditional particularly along the route to Rue Sid Abd El Aziz.
Cons: Nothing bad about the Riad. There was a celling fan in our room but I would get a room with air-conditioning next time just for some extra comfort. And I found the last few streets to the Riad a little claustrophobic... but that's just me.

The staff were all lovely and friendly, the riad was in the perfect location in between the Medina and Jemaa el Fna and we were also able to walk to the majorelle gardens and Yves saint Laurent museum from there (approx 25-30 min walk). The room was beautiful with lovely handmade shower gel and shampoo. Water and snacks were also in the room. There was a lovely welcome drink and biscuits too, gorgeous touches that made us feel welcome and special. The riad has a beautiful rooftop area too. Breakfast was really good, every day had a slightly different cake, pastries, pancakes, fruit, yoghurt and break as well as freshly squeezed juice and coffee.

The staff is exceptional and very thoughtful. The terraces and garden/fountain are a welcome refuge from the craziness of the Medina outside. We also very much appreciated the welcome drink, snacks and amazing breakfast.
Cons: The ground floor riad rooms are very dim, especially the shower area and there are some issues with smells from the drains that are hard to mask though Ilayka has put room incense in the bathroom. Also the bed is not very comfortable for the price point.

Azzedine, Khadija and the rest of the staff have just been fantastic before, during and after our stay. Smiling and ready to help at all times, we were welcomed with a fruit juice and some traditional pastries. The Riad itself is a jewel, it's spacious, green, beautiful and very quiet from the streets' noises. The breakfast is very good if you are a sweet tooth. We would clearly repeat our stay there.
Cons: Our room on the ground floor was very spacious and cozy, but if guests use the stairs with suitcases, we could hear them. Same topic, around the noise, thanks to the nice trees in the patio, we could hear the birds at sunrise :)

The Riad was exactly as pictured online, but it was the staff that made it so warm and worth recommending. They met me at the outskirts of the gates, and took my luggage through the medina, and even sweetly came to get me late at night so I wouldn't be walking alone. As a solo female traveler, that added attention was a real benefit. The breakfast was great and the room was clean, bathroom was good by western-standards. In January, it was a little chilly, so prepare to wear a jacket at breakfast in the outdoor court (although they cover it). The location was good - central and easier to find than another riad that I stayed at later in the week that was ridiculous to find.

As our first experience in Marrakech, it felt a little intimidating at first but the staff at the Riad took care of every question and need my group had. We reserved 4 rooms out of the 7 available and it honestly felt like home that first night. They picked us up from the airport and once at the main square, we were greeted by another member of staff who grabbed our luggage and walked us through the market to the Riad. The place was clean, the staff were wonderful, the food was delicious. I have no complaints!

excellent breakfast, super friendly stuff, a really beautiful atrium. The room, in the ground floor was nicely decorated and clean. excellent location in the middle of Medina although a bit difficult to locate in the first instance. choose transportation from the airport by the hotel stuff.
Cons: No refrigerator or air condition which might be a problem in summer. Plumming and electrical net needs renewal.

The room was very nice and big and very bright (we were on the first floor). Super nice lookout from the rooftop terrace
Cons: One night the doormen was just not there and we had to wait over 30min until a neighbour saw us and found the doormen. Even the following nights, he would disappear again. They never came up to us in person to say sorry or similar, they just wrote us sorry but nothing else. In general, even though we stayed 5 nights there, it felt super impersonal. I travelled one month in Morocco and stayed in different Riads in Marrakech and this one must have been a gem once, but just not up to the standards of other places anymore.

The team who run this riad are exceptional in every way can't thank them enough for making me feel so welcome. . The Riad is beyond fabulous like living in a Moroccan Palace (which it probably was originally). That architecture and decor is so traditional and absolutely stunning. Everything in this riad is done with such style. The breakfast is sumptuous both in the presentation and taste. With such a great location you could not find a better place to stay.
Cons: That I wasn't there longer

This stunningly beautiful riad, with its authentic Moroccan decor, transported us into a world of timeless charm and elegance. Every corner of the riad tells a story, and the attention to detail in the design is simply breathtaking. Mornings began with a delicious breakfast in the serene courtyard, a perfect start to each day. On New Year's Eve, the team created a wonderful atmosphere, hosting drinks and nibbles for all the guests—a thoughtful touch that made the evening memorable. The location is unbeatable, nestled right in the heart of the medina, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the magic of Marrakech while always having this peaceful haven to return to. The staff were truly exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Their hospitality made our trip incredibly special. The riad was spotlessly clean, and the level of care provided by the team went above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. If you're planning a trip to Marrakech and want an unforgettable, authentic experience, staying at Riad ILayka is an absolute must. We cannot recommend it highly enough—it truly captures the spirit and soul of this incredible city. Thank you, Riad ILayka, for a magical stay!

The property is lovely throughout the whole block and the stuff for really really nice they welcome does every time and was always there to open the door quickly. The location is great it was very clean. After getting to know the area and location is easy to find and it’s very safe during day and night there’s always guards around.
Cons: The room itself was lovely and good size, but it was a bit too dark even when they’re all the windows are open and lights. The location is hard to find on your first visit so we got someone to bring us. when we go off the Taxi, there was a guy with a trolley that we asked if he can take us there because we were not able to find it.

I had a wonderful stay at Riad Ilayka. The riad itself is charming, with a lovely courtyard and rooftop terrace, and my room was very well-appointed, attractive, spacious and cozy. The staff were extremely communicative and helpful in every way. The location is great for those wanting close access to the souks and a feel for the old medina. Some might find it confusing and/or slightly unseemly, especially late at night. But I never felt unsafe.

Riad Ilayka is an oasis of peace in the middle of the beautiful chaos that Marrakech is. We were surprised on how quiet it was. You walk less than 2 minutes and you are in main Souk, and less than 10 minutes safe walk to the main plaza. True highlight of this Riad is its staff. Kuddos to Rahim+++, Kadisha in especial. They went above and beyond to make us feel special. Azzadin and Abdul were super nice too. The Riad is beautiful and nicely taken care of. We enjoyed the main patio where we had breakfast every morning. Breakfast was fantastic and bountiful, so beautifully presented. We enjoyed the first floor terrace where we ordered dinner one night. We enjoyed the upstairs gazebo where we sat down overlooking the ceilings of buildings around and the tower not far from us. The Riad has 7 rooms, on 3 floors (counting ground floor + other two), no elevator. We were in one suite on first floor. The room is a little bit dark to my taste, but beautifully decorated and maintained. You are received with water and some local sweets nicely presented. There is no lock for rooms. you close the door with a latch. There is a safe in every room if you are concerned about valuables, but I really left my laptop and phone out all the time and closed the latch and wooden door and that was it. We ordered wine and drinks from them. they bring them wherever you want in the Riad, even to the top gazebo which impressed us. At the top, there is a small pool and lounge chairs, and also even supposedly hammam/massage services, that we only discovered late, so we did not use any of these. We loved how it was walking distance to absolutely everywhere we wanted to go. Only got picked up for day trips somewhere else because car access is not permitted on those areas - be prepared to walk back and from the hotel when you arrive and depart, but a staff will accompany you. Highly recommended to order transport from airport from them: can be tricky to arrive on your own, as it is a bit hidden.
Cons: Internet can be improved in upper floors - it was excellent in the patio. Clearer details on what day trips include (driver or tour guide, entry fees or not, alternate guide or same always) - and try to match with English speaking tour guide if we don't speak French.

A stunning Riad in the heart of the medina. An oasis of calm in the middle of the bustling streets. The suite was large and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was fresh and substantial with different friuts and juices each day. We had 2 meals that were great value and exceptionally tasty. I did the cooking course, shopping in the market then preparing 6 salads and a tagine a thoroughly enjoyable experience. They had a few nice wines and beers to have with dinner or on the terrace. The stars of the experience were the staff who couldn't have done any more to make us comfortable and advised on things to do and to navigate the streets. Book transfers as they will meet you and walk you through the square and medina, I doubt we would have managed ourselves.
Cons: Absolutely nothing but a few things in the room could have helped a little, such as grab rail in the shower/ bath. Our room had a window onto the road so there was a little workmen and donkey noise in the morning but nothing extreme.

Location was excellent and the staff were outstandingly helpful and flexible. The riad has lovely terraces where you could rest, have a drink and read. The breakfast was tasty and had different fresh fruit everyday, yogurt and pancakes, bread and cake plus an array of jams.
Cons: We didn't like our room as it was small and very dark. The room was right at the top of the riad and we had black steps in the room that made it look even darker. The bathroom was compact and in need of a revamp to make it look smarter and cleaner. It would appear that other rooms were more spacious and inviting.

We liked the location. It was very safe and quiet, yet central. The room was lovely and comfortable. We loved that there were little spots to relax around the riad, such as on the roof terrace or the first floor outdoor lounge. Tip: go on the rooftop at sunrise and admire the hot air ballons rise up into the sky in the distance, facing the Atlas Mountains opposite. The riad is very cosy and homely, yet spacious enough when it comes to the rooms for instance. The staff is incredibly helpful. Abdul came to pick us up and walked us to the riad on arrival. He and the manager were so helpful at arranging excursions and giving us tips for places to visit or how much we should pay or haggle for things. You have to go walk through tricky alleyways before getting to the riad. They're all safe but you'll have to have a good memory or take pics to remember where to turn etc. We almost got lost once but someone kindly helped us. After that we knew the way eyes closed.
Cons: Nothing.

Everything! Amazing staff, so caring and genuine. Breakfast outstanding. Location could not ask to be in a better position within the Medina. We have been very blessed to travel to other countries & in all honesty I would 100% recommend staying here. We would never choose a hotel over a Riad and Raid Llayka exceeded our expectations. If you are visiting Marrakech, please stay here! Abdul and all the staff just made the holiday. Abdul and all the staff thank you for making our trip so memorable. We made requests before even entering the country and everything we asked for was met. Communication with the owner was also on point. Amazing hotel with everything you need to feel peace in the heart of a chaotic city. We loved the location of the Riad. Very central, actually in the souks! Definitely worth the 20euros for airport pick up as a uniformed member of staff meets you in the plaza and escorts you through the winding streets. The staff can't do more for you, very attentive and accommodating. From arranging a 5am breakfast on Excursion day to a late cup of english tea in the lounge in the evening, they were always happy to help. The rooms are a great size with comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms and attentive housekeepers. Overall the Riad is a peaceful retreat from the bustling streets!
Cons: Although the Riad offers a dining experience on request, it is a shame their kitchen doesn't have a small snack menu for when you are having lazy days on the rooftop.

Amazing staff special mention to Abdulhaq, Muadz and the ladies in the kitchen. As a Muslim traveler they treated us with much love & we’re like family. Even the lady boss Nadia too. The breakfast spread was amazing, accompanied by singing birds on the orange tree every morning. And i’m in awe with the authentic Moroccan decor. Do get the Riad to book airport pick-up, you can’t navigate by yourself the medina is complicated. We were saved by the kind security guy who showed us the way. Otherwise you’ll gonna get derailed by the people in the medina. Once u get there, you’ll find it is very close to the main square where all the activities of the nights comes alive. Room layout and vibe was unique. Quiet and peaceful even though we stayed on the first floor. All the staff were helpful and accommodative (we had to take breakfast at 5:30am one morning and the food was fully prepared upon communicating with the staff). Would come back if have a chance.

We absolutely loved our stay at Riad Ilayka. While we were only there for one night, the staff made us feel completely welcome and went out of their way to accommodate us. We arrived at 9 PM to check in, as we had just come off of a desert tour. The staff swiftly showed us to our room and helped us with our bags. We had to check out at noon, but our flight wasn't until later in the day so the staff stored our luggage, so we could go out and explore before our flight. The location of the riad is a little hard to get to, but I would recommend just calling the staff once you are in the general area and they will come and guide you back to the riad. All the facilities were just perfect, and the riad itself is beautiful. It is probably the best hotel we've stayed at and we will likely be coming back to stay, if we ever came back to Morocco. We wanted to give a special shout out to the night manager (I believe his name is Mohab, but please forgive me if I'm wrong). He was very warm, inviting, helpful and generally just made our short stay extremely pleasant. Thank you, Nadia and the rest of the team at Riad Ilayka for an unforgettable hotel experience!

The service is above and beyond expectations. Thanks to Khadija, Abdou and the rest of the staff who took care of us. They provided good tips and tricks to make sure we feel comfortable to navigate through the city and provide excellent service at the Riad. The breakfast is very generous and delicious. The location is great if you want to be in the heart of the medina, walkable distance from the main square and other main sights. Nice view of the city from the rooftop, beautiful sunset. We will definitely come back.

Amazing location in the middle of the medina, allowing exploring. Very quiet. very clean. Delicious breakfast in the central courtyard. Staff was very kind and helpful in meeting up with us, helping with luggage, walking us and picking us up from a little restaurant. So easy to get lost, so we really valued their help. The kitchen staff were top. Water nice and hot. Heating in room and bathroom, nice to have in Jan-Feb!

Such a wonderful property and such a fantastic location. The rooftop at sunrise and sunset is stunning. The staff were impeccable; I’d especially mention Abdul who was so attentive. Thoroughly recommend getting the Riad to arrange your transport to and from the airport as they will meet you and guide you through the maze of streets - we saw lots of tourists being taken advantage of when they hadn’t done this.

The place itself is lovely, nice rooftop and furnishings etc.
Cons: We were really careful to look through all photos of the room before booking and booked because there was a bath. No bath in the first room, but they did move us to one with a bath. Water ran for 5-10 minutes and then ran out. Waited a full hour and the water was still cold. So we had to move to a new riad. At the time, the staff member was apologetic and polite and we left with no issue. I would not have written a negative review as we ended up not staying there, but then they had the nerve to try to charge my card when we couldn't even stay as they had not even the most basic amenity: hot running water. We stayed at 4 other riads and a desert camp during our stay and all had hot water. The room was also cold and didn't have a/c heaters like other riads we stayed in, just a tiny portable electric one. Definitely don't stay here in winter.

I can completely understand why this property has such high ratings! We were so well taken care of while we were here and Azeddine went above and beyond anything that was required to make our stay as comfortable as possible! I was so tired when I came in that I felt too weak to even go back out and get food and he went and picked up takeout for us! He arranged a taxi tour around the city for us because we had a limited amount of time. Truly above and beyond! The breakfast was stunning, and the accommodations were magical. My only regret was we didn’t have more time in this amazing and unique city. I can see why people move here and stay forever.

The staff were incredibly helpful, respectful and very nice. They made us feel like we were home. We stayed at what was probably their nicest room. It waz spacious, clean and comfortable but to get to it there is a narrow stair that might be hard for some tall people or that have mobility issues. They have other rooms with no stairs. Their included breakfast with table service was incredible. You just need to tell them when you want it. My wife and i had a beautiful dinner setup for us, not included. They gave us so much fantastic food that we did it again the following night. They also setup airport transportation and a great tout around the old town. I highly recommend this place for a wonderful experience in Marrakech.

Cute and super quiet Riad in the center of Medina, close to everything but definitely not easy to find. The first day we already stopped and needed a guy who insisted to bring our suitcases and lead the way and try to charge us 300MAD!!! But the hospitality, staff and everything in the Raid is perfect. Muhar became our friend, offered us all the guidance we need for our short trip. Abdo is our last days’ helper, arranged an amazing dinner for us when it was very delayed until late due to our trip that day. All the staff there are full of smile, you feel like home. Only thing needs to note for people cannot consume sugar/diabetics, is that the traditional breakfast is quite sweet, full of different jam and desserts.

Cons: The location is very difficult to reach and takes 10-15mins walk from any taxi as taxis are not allowed to enter. Google maps does not work towards the hotel so it’s a 5min walk if someone is nice enough to guide you there or else it’s very hard to find on your own with no access to Google maps.

We enjoyed our stay at Riad Ilayka. Between the meals in the courtyard and the excellent hospitality, this place lived up to the reviews. The room’s decor was traditional and ornate. The rooftop was a great place to view the city and sunset. Another benefit was that they arranged for transportation to and from the airport. This included getting through the souks, which would have been challenging. While breakfast is included, we recommend booking dinner there as well. The tangine was delicious and beautifully presented.

We only stayed here one night but wish we had been here longer. The riad itself is beautiful and our room and the terrace area were fantastic too. Absolutely no complaints about the environment. We booked dinner at the riad which was served in the dining room as it was a little cold in the evening, the surroundings were great and the food was lovley. The breakfast in the morning was perfect too. Didn't take real photos of the food as we were too quick to eat it! Abdul and all the staff were amazing, happy to answer our questions about the building and Marrakech. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in marrakech. The only difficulty was finding it; as we were already in Marrakech so didnt need the airport transfer. We went the day before to check it out and then we're guided back towards the square by helpful staff so we could remember the easiest route. Well light at night and quiet.

My wife and I had no idea what to expect as we made our way through the winding streets of the Marrakech Medina to the door of the Riad Ilayka. We were spent, mentally and physically from the flight, the drive over, and then the walk to the front door. But as soon as Abdul opened the door and sat us down with a refreshing drink, he calmed our nerves and made Marrakech our new home for the next few days. The riad's amazing first floor was charming and historic. After we calmed down, Abdul showed us the second floor, our room, and then all the little details that the riad had to offer. It was like we were in a dream! His and the rest of the staff's courteousness knew no bounds over the next two days, as we were given directions personally, made exquisite breakfasts and a delicious dinner, any need taken care of instantly, and a personal gift of wine delivered from the owner herself. Even when we needed to leave at 5am to drive to Merzouga, Abdul not only took care of our breakfast but made sure we safely made our way back through the Medina to our car. The riad's quiet beauty and gracious staff made it the treasure we didn't expect in Marrakech.

Great experience. Very traditional Morocco riad design with the internal garden, fountain, and 4 trees. The staffs are great. Very professional and passionate. The only thing need to pay attention is the safe. It doesn't open in the morning and waste us 1 hour to wait for the manager to open it. It happens to another lady in her room as well. Her passport is locked in the safe on checkout. Suggest to avoid using their safe. The riad feels safe enough to leave things in the room. On the other hand, suggest the riad to replace those saves.

This hotel is right in the Medina. It is very difficult to get to as you have to walk though alley ways to get there and these alley ways are a bit scary. Once inside its a lovely place and the service is excellent. Note, the rooms have no locks on them. There is a safe in the room but I had an issue with it and the owner had to open for me so I am skeptical of its safety. You will definitely need them to pick you up from airport and bring you to hotel.

If you are looking for luxury ryad with stunning interior, than stop and book your stay at Ryad Ilayka. We were picked up at the airport and brought all way to the Riad. Huge rooftop with mazing views over the medina. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises, highly recommend going to the rooftop terrace during night prayer, very unique experience to listen mosques echoing each other all over the city. We also enjoyed our breakfast in the beautiful garden. The even served us breakfast on the first day late in the morning because of delayed flight. This place is just a pure gem. Can be tricky to find your way back, so make sure you remember the surroundings. Alleyway leading to the Ryad looks a little bit sketchy at night, but we had no troubles.

First off I have to mention the staff. I have traveled all over the world. Stayed in some of the top hotels, and the staff at this Riad has to be the friendliest and kindest of any place I have stayed. The Riad is beautiful, the food is out of this world. But the time thing that will stick with you is the personal experience with the people running the place.

Upon arrival, stale store bought "pepperidge farm" cookies were presented as opposed to any of the amazing baked Moroccan pastries that are available (& in other Riads are baked fresh daily). Second afternoon, I asked to have dinner in the Riad, was told it was not possible ~ shopping had already been done for the day. This was very disappointing as other Riads I stayed in were always able to prepare something even on last minute notice. All aside, the Riad is beautiful, my room perfectly lovely (a bit dark), breakfasts were wonderful. And, it is well located. One staff member, Abdul, stands out above all. He always went over & above to be helpful, was patient with questions, took time marking maps, & even walked with me to the main square to orient me on the first day, advising where to take photos that would be best markers to follow en route back.

Riad Ilayka is a beautiful traditional style riad located in the souks. My stay included a breakfast spread each morning that was quite tasty. Because I'm a little directionally challenged, I got lost a couple of times trying to get back to the riad but was able to call someone there to meet me in the souks. The staff are excellent! Abdu who walked me to and from my ride to/from the airport was helpful with anything I needed. And Mohammed the manager was informative and helpful as well. Overall it was a good stay.

The riad itself is beautiful, the rooms and the public areas. The staff amazing, hospitable, informative, and helpful which is particularly important because it is so easy to get lost in Marrakesh. Riad Ilayka is full with beautiful arts and fairy tales. It locates at the noisy and chaotic Medina, but is a quiet paradise hided in depths of the lane. There are three floors in a large yard with only seven rooms in total. Even the layout of each room is different, they are all with antique art furnitures, rich bedding. Antiques and red roses are every where. Super service, specially they not only arranged a car to send us to the airport, but also brought our suitcases to the car which was parked out of the Medina.
