The property is beautiful and decorated with love and attention. There are so many little details to enjoy. The location is excellent as well, north of the main square and away from the tourist heavy areas so you get a more authentic experience near locals. All staff were wonderful. The breakfast was excellent. And our personal favourite part: the housecat Luna is so adorable and sweet; sge spent a lot of time with us and we still think about her. Great stay overall.

Cons: Only thing for me personally is the bed was a bit small as I am taller, and with the footboard I couldn’t fit normally but that is specific for me and a minor issue

Accogliente e pulita, camera ampia e confortevole, personale gentile.

Everything. The staff were so gracious, welcoming and friendly, especially the resident cat Luna! The owner has an amazing eye for design and the entire setting is simply stunning and tranquil.

Cons: Nothing really, it was perfect. If you are thinking of booking here there is sometimes a little noise outside but you are in a city and that is absolutely nothing compared to if you were in the main tourist area. It’s a part of medina culture.

The staff were really friendly and were always really attentive and helpful despite the language barrier! The riad was clean and beautiful. It was slightly out of the way from the medina however you could easily walk there with no problems. It was so peaceful and quiet in the riad.

Cons: The only downfall was that we were told we could pay the remaining balance by card prior to arriving however, once it came to paying on our last day we were told this needed to be in cash. This was more inconvenient than anything and wouldn’t stop me staying here again!

Riad Samsara is a hidden gem, a peaceful pearl in a lively Marrakesh. The staff was excellent, nice and very helpful, doing great job. The Riad was beautiful, extremely clean and decorated with style. The room and bathroom were spacious. We spent a week there and could not chosen any better place to stay. The location in the north of Medina was good and a bit away from the most crowded touristic areas which was nice: we could see how and where the local people live. However, everything was in a walking distance. Also need to mention Luna, a cute and friendly cat of the house who wants to make friends if you are a cat-lover, but leaves you in peace if you are not a cat-person. I certainly will stay in the same place if I go Marrakesh again.

This riad is beautiful with incredible attention to detail when it came to the design. It felt like we were transported back in time. It is clear the owner made an effort to keep the riad as true to its original beauty as possible. The issue we had was with the staff. They were much less warm and welcoming than our previous riad experience. They also were not around to answer questions or help out with our stay as much as we expected and did not respond to our messages in a timely manner. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication regarding payment for some of the drinks we had at the riad and laundry services. We were not told ahead of time that we needed to pay in cash and no one was around for us to talk to about this. When we were leaving for the airport, I again messaged the host and asked how to pay and she said in cash. When I explained that we did not have enough cash and that we assumed we could pay with card (literally every place we went took card, even the smallest shops) she insisted we have our driver take us to an ATM and return with cash to pay her. I explained that this was not an option because we had a flight to catch and she continued to argue with me over the phone and offered no solutions. Ultimately she said she would send us a link to pay online but it was an unfortunate end to our stay that made us feel very uncomfortable.

The riad feels very authentic with some really nice decorative details. I loved the plants in the inner courtyard. The rooms were comfortable. The roof terrace was pleasant and a nice spot for breakfast.

Cons: I didn't like the location. It was right at the edge of the medina and, although I didn't feel it was unsafe, it felt isolated. Added to this, there was no staff on site during the evening. The staff that were present at the riad were very nice and polite but had to call the owner to answer my questions. It was also inconvenient find out that we had to pay in dirham as there seem to be no nearby cash points.

Thank you so much for the hospitality and our wonderful stay in Riad Samsara! The Riad is exceptionally beautiful, and all the women working there are incredibly kind! Special thank you to Bouchra and the other ladies who cooked us wonderful breakfast every morning and helped us with everything we needed. The fresh roses were a very pleasant surprise and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. On the days when we were going on day trips, the ladies at Riad even prepared the breakfast for takeaway because of the early departure. This Riad is an oasis of peace where to rest after days filled with so many experiences in the bustling Marrakech. We hope we can come back someday. Thank you once again for making our trip to Marrakech so peaceful, beautiful and unforgettable.

A real oasis! Yes, a bit out of the way if you want the manic Djemaa El Fna (which we didn’t) but only a 25 min walk back there (if you don’t get sidetracked by the souks!). We booked a taxi from the airport on arrival (150MAD). Walked everywhere after that. Did get lost in the back streets one evening trying to get back. Stick to the main streets. 20 minute walk to Jardin Majorelle. Breakfast very good and the meal we had there one night was delicious and very beautifully presented. Bed good and everything very clean. Roof terrace was pretty and lovely to watch sunset from. Miloudia is a lovely woman and took such good care of us. A real treasure.

Cons: A sign on the wall where you turn into the alley would be so helpful! Easy to miss it. It helps to speak French to talk to the lovely staff, although Bouchra speaks perfect English. Luna is a beautiful cat but might cause you a problem if you are allergic to cats. I have my own cat at home, but strangely I was allergic to Luna. Wasn’t a real problem.

We travelled with a baby and this riad really felt like home. Highlights include the lovely decor, chill rooftop, kind staff, the most amazing riad cat. They helped us organise an airport transfer and found a spot for us to hang out bab/ laundry— just a really lovely team. It’s a little way out of the main chaos (15 mins walk) but that’s actually really lovely because it’s quiet and chill.

Cons: It was lovely, no issues. Communication before we arrived was a little confusing, but everything else was great.

Cons: Take taxi to go outside of the Riad to avoid any bad surprises.

You will be shocked in a very positive way when you enter from the street to Riad, it is truly a hidden gem. Its location is amazing since it is close to attractions but at the same time it is far which gives you a chance to explore the real local culture. So I would say the location is optimal! Staff was kind; brakfast was nice;

Cons: Location: was a bit far from the center; pillows were somewhat uncomfortable but not bad; the main issue we ran into was cockroaches; the room did seem pretty clean, however on our second night we noticed a small bug on the wall - a tiny cockroach. Since it was so tiny we didnt make much of it and went to sleep. Littke did we know we would wake up in the middle of night to another cockroach, a huge one this time, crawling over my girlfriend's arm - total jumpscare. Got out of bed as quickly as we could and informed staff right away (around 2 / 3am). Needless to say we didnt get any more sleep that night, nor were we comfortable enough sleeping another night in this hotel, so, although we had booked a 3 night stay, we left early in the morning after de 2nd night and booked a different hotel - we informed the staff we would be leaving; they were helpful and understanding and told them I'd be in touch in order to solve this matter; What was absolutely disgraceful and even worse than the cockroach incident, was the management behaviour which we then contacted via booking.com as we asked for a refund only for the 3rd night (a refund of the amount for the 3rd night - the night we didnt stay); Firstly they told us they were going to check with staff. Since we didnt get any feedback from them, we contacted them again only to be ignored; We insisted yet again and were told they were dealing with this matter with booking.com (we were told they had initiated sone kind of procedure). We later got in touch with booking.com only to find out no procedure was initiated. We got no further updates from the hotel on this issue. The only reason we won't be giving a 1 in this review is because of the hotel staff; Don't recommend;

The overall experience at Riad Samsara was absolutely superbe! The location is outside of tourists areas and noise, instead it's in a real Marrakech neighbourhood where local people live, so you can see a bit of the city's real life. The area is calm and quiet and even more inside the Riad. The room was wonderful, it was cleaned every day and with attention to every detail; the typical moroccan breakfast was delicious and prepared fresh every morning, not to mention the meals we had for dinner, absolutely stunning and with that taste of authentic food that you can just find at home, cooked from a local person. Everything, in fact, was perfect thanks to the wonderful women that work there, starting from the house manager to all the others. They prepared our room before the check-in time since we arrived early, also left us breakfast ready when we had to leave early in the morning before the breakfast starting time and they also arranged cake and decorations on my boyfriend's birthday. Everything was really amazing and exceeded our expectations, I can't wait to come back!

Cons: There isn't anything I can complaint about.

Everything. The room, the breakfast, the dinner, the staff. The commentable attention to detail in the buildings renovation, preserving all original features. It gives you such a great vibe you just cannot get enough of it. And I need to mention, do not skip the dinner they offer! On our first night we politely refused the dinner, wanting to go out in a restaurant. But then when we had breakfast the next day we knew we had to eat. It was the best food we had in all our stay in Morocco. and you have the experience of private dining. 5 stars exprerience, perfect service with a very very reasonable price. Also, we travelled with our 3 year old, and we couldn't feel more welcome. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing our experience was. also, it's only 5' walk from the lively souks!

The room was beautiful and so clean and comfortable and the breakfast in the room off the courtyard was a lovely relaxing way to start the day.

Cons: Nothing - we loved it.

Wonderful Riad. Very peaceful. The staff are friendly, attentive and always willing to help. Breakfast is freshly prepared and varied. It can also be made up in advance in the event of early departures for day trips. The whole Riad is spotlessly clean, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Bonus - Luna the riad's cat is both beautiful and affectionate. She will likely come visit you in your room

From the moment we booked, we were taken care of. Bouchra organised our transport from the airport and made special arrangements for us to check in very late in the night due to our flight time. We were warmly greeted on arrival. The room was lovely, very clean and well equipped. The breakfast provided was wonderful and truly one of the best parts of our days as it was so relaxed and peaceful in the riad. We enjoyed the tranquility of the riad so much we also chose to have supper on one of our nights there. After the hecticness of a day at the souks, this was such a good decision. Not only was the food prepared delicious, but the cook took such good care of us to make sure we had everything we needed including lighting the fire when we requested it. On our last day we were allowed to leave our bags at the riad after check out to enjoy our last day in Marrakech and came back for an hour before our taxi arranged by Bouchra arrived to take us to the airport. We asked the lovely cook if she could make us mint tea (the best we had in Marrakech) and she happily obliged and wouldn't even accept payment. We truly felt looked after so well here. They are incredibly warm and welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We also couldn't finish this review without mentioning the absolute highlight of our stay at Riad Samsara, LUNA the cat! Our 11 year old daughter adores cats and it really felt like Luna the cat takes huge pride in looking after the guests. She seemed to do her rounds of all the guests and whenever she was with us she was SO sweet and cuddly. We can't wait to come back to Riad Samsara to see everyone including beautiful Luna! Thank you all for making our first trip to Marrakech such a wonderful experience! 10/10

Very accommodating and kind staff. They arranged a great tour guide for us and taxi service on demand. Everything was great. Many thanks to Bouchra!

Cons: The safe in our room was broken and the rooms don’t have a lock by default. They did provide one upon request

The decoration and especially the pretty courtyard with Bougainvillea and Mandarin trees. Staff were very helpful, especially when I fell ill. Good shower with plenty of hot water. Being in the centre of where locals live.

Cons: Breakfast was good, but a bit too stodgy. Something with eggs would have made it exceptional. It is quite a long walk from the main souks and centre.

The place is beautiful, we really liked it. I stayed in the hybiscus room and it was spacious maybe with too much furniture. Breakfast was great we loved it. Coffee or tea with many sweet and salty options.

Cons: it was very cold, the room, the common room and all the spaces. We had to ask them to light a fire in the fireplace and sometimes they didn't seem very happy about it. The old lady in charge of cooking and cleaning was very friendly with my friend and not at all with me, that was weird.

A beautiful Riad that feels like an oasis. Our room was the most spectacular across all of our stays in Morocco, definitely something to remember. It was incredibly generous in size and was beautifully decorated - a great first experience in the country. Breakfasts were fabulous, eaten downstairs in the beautiful courtyard (or take up to the lovely terrace if weather permits). The staff were all super lovely and the owner was very accommodating with quick communication. She helped us organise transportation to and from, which was super helpful.

Cons: Our only quarrel is the location - it is only a 10 minute walk away from the heart of the medina but we found this area to be very tricky to navigate and easy to lose your track. We got lost a few times, and haggled by some people who asked for money for directions. We fell for it once, but then figured it out. Other than this, no issues at all!

All the staff was very welcoming. The staff contacted me prior to the trip and asked me about the transportation and everything. (I highly recommend you do this because it's quite hard to find if it's your first time visiting the country and the taxi drivers in the airport will charge you 30-40% more) It feels very homey and safe while you're inside the Riad. Most of the staff spoke French/Moroccon Arabic only so if you don't speak those languages, I highly recommend you download google translator prior to the trip. The room was very clean and breezy, they provide you with two water bottles on your first day(the rest, they will charge you 1 Euro per small bottle), the breakfast was simple but fresh and they accommodate you with basic toiletries in the room.

Cons: The distance to the main area was around 20 mins walk. At night it gets very dark and I personally didn't feel comfortable walking back late at night. The wifi upstairs was weak. I had to work for a couple of days but I would connect to my data to be able to use zoom.

Great stay! Rooms are great and the Riad it self is out of a fairytale book. Breakfast was included, very Moroccan style with coffee, tea, yogurt and a spread of breads, pastries and toppings. Some tips: - Riad Samsara is located in a more local part of the Medina and at first Marrakesh can be a bit overwhelming, but we (two blond girls) did not feel scared or were not harrassed even during the evenings. Just know where you are going and don't engage - We booked a airport transfer through the riad, that is higher cost than the 'normal price' but it was much easier as the driver took us right to the front door. - Theres not many restaurants next to the Riad, so considering booking a dinner for the first night at the Riad especially if you are arriving later. There are local stores/kiosks very close for necessities such as water and snacks etc - We were afraid that it would be cold (it can be very chilly in January), but the A/C kept us really warm in the room :)

I enjoyed my stay at this Riad. Great staff whom ensure comfort, friut basket in the room, tea and treats on check in, great terrace breakfast... Only negatives are it’s difficult to find initially with google maps having a different location given and if airport transport is arranged through the hotel you will easily pay more than double of standard 60dh Médina to airport (or even gouged 80dh like I did) taxi fare. Just hire when you need them instead of arranging through the hotel.

Riad Samsara is a beautiful gem of a hotel, the exquisite decor, the dawn and evening birdsong and a very special breakfast all contributed to making it the most wonderful oasis amidst the noise, bustle and choas that is the Medina. Jaquelin, Melouda and Latifa are a brilliant team and make it a very special place.

The building is incredible--it is three levels with two salons and a courtyard with a fountain on the first floor, three rooms--each one decorated differently on the second floor, and a roof top terrace on the third floor. The owner has lovingly restored it all and the craftsmanship is amazing. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom spacious. Breakfast is served on the lovely terrace with homemade yogurt and jam and crepes and fresh squeezed oj each day. Also the wifi worked well and the manager booked us a great tour guide and a ride to the Atlas Mountains on our last day. She also lent us a phone in case we got lost. The staff are hardworking and lovely. We would stay again.

Had a great time here!!! A very lovely Riad located in the old town. 20 minutes walk from the square but that makes the raid quiet and comfortable. The bedroom is well decorated, spacious and clean. The breakfast is fantastic too. We love here very much that we change our itinerary so that we can stay one more night.

We stayed here for 6 nights in early Feb. We were collected from the airport by pre-arrangement which was a good decision as finding the riad for the first time is difficult. The hotel is beautiful and smells amazing of fleur d'oranger, amber, jasmine and musk. On arrival, we were brought into the courtyard and offered mint teat and Moroccan pastries. The staff were very welcoming and spoke excellent English. They offered us a free upgrade to a suite which were delighted to accept. The rooms are decorated in traditional Berber style and give a true Moroccan experience. The bathroom was large and had both a shower and bath. Toiletries, towels and dressing gowns were supplied. There were tea/coffee making facilities in the room, bottled water and a fruit basket. Breakfast could be served on the roof terrace, in one of the downstairs salons or in the room. As the weather was good, we chose the roof terrace. Breakfast varied slightly each day and included a good selection of bread, Moroccan pancakes, croissants, fresh fruit and jams and yoghurt. I require a gluten free diet and this was well-catered for with freshly made gluten free bread and pancakes. Once you know the way to the riad it is easy to find and as two lone female travellers it was safe to walk back at night, although we found that after 10.30pm it started to get very quiet in the area. We were given a mobile phone woth a number to contact if we ever got lost or ran into trouble. We would definitely recommend!
