We hope the management improves the level of service, cleanliness, and attention to detail so that future guests can have an experience that truly matches the cost.
Cons: We stayed at Kella 2 Hotels and unfortunately felt that the price did not match the quality or service we received. We paid €148 + €28 in taxes, which is quite high considering the overall experience. The riad itself looked nice in pictures, but the service and facilities did not meet the expectations for this price range. We believe the value offered is unfair compared to the amount charged, especially when compared with other accommodations we stayed at in Morocco that provided much better quality for a similar or even lower price. We hope the management improves the level of service, cleanliness, and attention to detail so that future guests can have an experience that truly matches the cost.

High-quality breakfast, prepared and served with attention to detail. Extremely caring and attentive staff, who made the stay very enjoyable and comfortable. The location is unique and perfect for those who want to experience small-scale authentic accommodation close to the bustling nightlife and markets of the medina yet extremely quiet and calm at the same time. You won't hear anything from outside and before from the cool and sturdy walls. Everything of very high standard.
Cons: Absolutely fine for me but be aware that you will need to walk out of the medina if you want to use taxi or public transport, which will take you min 10 minutes.

As with many places in Morocco, the staff is what makes this road so very special. We were warmly welcomed by the manager Sanae, and she was incredibly helpful orienting us to the city and and getting us reservations. The night manager, Khalid, was willing to walk us to restaurants in the evening if we needed him. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the breakfast is excellent. We dined at the sister riad (Riad Kalaa) which was truly excellent. Great linens and comfortable beds.

The riad is very nice and the staff are very helpful . They also offer a pick up service from the airport and the driver will take you to the riad as it’s hard to find first time. It’s €25 the driver was there with our names on a sign when we landed.
Cons: The WiFi is very weak particularly if you have work to do. Also I booked a standard room ( Ifrane) all the rooms have names. Which turned out to be basically a box room. The room is small, narrow and very claustrophobic. Ok if staying one night, but we were there for four. No proper area to sit down only two chairs under the stairs as the bed is up a flight of stairs. You are looking out at a brick wall followed by a second wall. The lighting is terrible, and even if you sit on the chair you have to be careful not to bang your head getting up. My husband is 6 1. There are other rooms in the riad that are lovely such as Casablanca, Rabat and feis. As I looked at these when there but avoid Ifrane pay the extra for a nicer room. Also if you want dinner you have to go to riad kalaa 1 which is 1 minute away. This riad does not offer lunch or dinner just breakfast. And the lunch menu is the same as the dinner menu which is 3 courses for €29. Which is not ideal at lunch time when you want a snack. Therefore you have to go outside in search of something to eat. Also the AC did not work which left the room very very warm both day and night. Be aware that upstairs you have to climb into the bed as there is no room to comfortably get in by the side due to the narrow space. So not suitable for anyone with mobility, breathing problems as you will also have to go down a flight of stairs to use bathroom at night time.

This riad was beautiful. The staff was amazing. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had a wonderful stay. We did not want to leave! Jiscar and Sana and their staff took excellent care of us. Even though we left for tours early in the morning before breakfast, Jiscar accommodated us by serving breakfast a little early. I would highly recommend this riad. We hope to return to Morocco one day. We want to stay there when we return. This riad was also very close to some important sights and attractions in Rabat Medina, and it was close to the beach.

Such a great Riad here in Rabat. In the Medina, along the whitewashed lanes with the ornate wooden doors, Riad Kalaa 2 has a sunny courtyard, beautifully decorated rooms, and fabulous breakfast with pastries, omelette, coffee, yogurt and freshly squeezed orange juice. The people were incredibly hospitable and welcoming. We would gladly stay again! We enjoyed dinner at the Riad Kalaa (1) just two minutes away. The meal was delicious. Lamb tajine was delicious and the duo of fish was worth a mention. The dessert was perfect - a nice blend of sweet and savoury.

We stayed at the Riad Kalaa 2 for our final two nights in Morocco. Most review will say it is a little distance from the car drop off point. With the Riad not having a sign outside, better to have someone guide for the first time. We were given the Ifrane room on level 2. It’s a smallish room with the bed and TV on a loft, which meant having to go up and down stairs. The room is not very well lighted though or maybe it’s just me. Leaving the curtains opened during the day helps. We can only call the room crammed. Has a small fridge and the smallest in-room safe I’ve ever encountered. No kettle in the room nor coffee making machine though helpfully, there were a couple of bottles of water provided. The bathroom is under the sleeping area. The shower area is however not fully enclosed and so one has to be careful not to spray water everywhere. Moroccan breakfast is served between 7:30 to 10:30 in the central courtyard. Helpfully, they do have laundry services. The restaurant is in big sister, Riad Kalaa, a short walk away that has a sign out front! The food was delicious and as a bonus, alcohol can be served. We tried a Moroccan red wine which was great. The riad is a beautiful property with excellent and friendly service. However, after much consideration, we decide to suggest avoiding the Ifrane room unless you are a sole occupant without mobility issues.

We had an amazing magical stay! The Riad was beautiful, the room (junior suite) very comfortable and the location is perfect to enjoy an authentic experience within the medina, explore the historical sites of the city or admire the Ocean. The rooftop with the small pool was a fantastic bonus to relax after our visits and enjoy Rabat sun and view. The staff was very friendly, special thank you to Sanaa who’s been so helpful!
Cons: Internet was a bit unstable but that was maybe more a general local issue than a specific one related to the Riad.

Conveniently located in the Medina, this riad had beautiful and well appointed rooms. There was a small rooftop pool that was perfect in the August heat! The staff were outstanding, providing great recommendations and preparing an excellent breakfast in the morning. The location in the Medina may make it a little challenging to find the first time, but the staff were very helpful with directions and helped us transport the luggage.

Friendly staff, excellent rooms, great pool and terrace area. Great neighbouring restaurant. Pictures accurately depict the rooms.

Everything was very clean and very nice. The staff were excellent and accommodating. The pool was great. Our only issue was that the AC in our room was semi functional and the water in the bath and shower reached lukewarm levels at hottest. Luckily it was warm enough out that a shower on the colder side was nice but because of the heat not having consistent AC was a little uncomfortable but with the breeze and open windows it was manageable. Overall a lovely place to stay with a few things that could be a slight inconvenience but if AC or hot water isn’t necessary for you I whole heartedly recommend this hotel.

BEWARE this property is a long walk from the main road and takes you through narrow alleys to get there. It just doesn’t look safe and is dark at night. My taxi driver had to call someone from the hotel to take us there, eventually after 5 minutes someone from the hotel escorted to this place and it took more than 10 minutes walk to get there. Just imagine dragging 2 big suitcases along this alley, right there we were very concerned and hesitant about this place. It is very scary to walk through this narrow alley at night, it’s a long walk! Since we were there we saw the place and were totally convinced that there is no way we can stay in the place. The staircase was narrow and the room for 3 people has 3 tiny beds. We decided not to stay here even if we lost $300. This place is definitely not worth $170 per night. Also, the description on Expedia is very deceptive, it just doesn’t say anything we experienced but it glorifies it. We decided not to check in and started looking for a place to stay, finally we found Hotel Rabat for the rescue and ended spending a night at Hotel Rabat. Even if Riad Kalaa 2 was for free I wouldn’t stay here. I don’t care if I lost $300 (2 rooms), but one should feel safe.

BEWARE! This property is not accessible via car, it’s very hard to locate this hotel. My taxi driver had to call the hotel, eventually after 5 minutes waiting on the road we were finally escorted by someone from the hotel and took 10 minutes walk through narrow alleys to find the hotel. Mind you that this walk was very scary, felt so unsafe! There is no way you can walk back to the hotel at night, looks very scary! Since we were at the property we decided to tour it, but absolutely not good, the room to house 3 people had 3 tiny beds and the stairs were so narrow. Just imagine dragging your suitcases through this narrow alleyway. We decided not to checkin since we felt not safe! We were scrambling to find another place to stay and started driving around, luckily we found Hotel Rabat, just a regular hotel experience where my taxi could pull right into their parking lot. We lost $300 for 2 rooms, but safety was #1. Even if Riad Kalaa 2 was for free, I wouldn’t stay at this place, absolutely unsafe! I hope it will help at least one person to make the right call. The description about Riad Kalaa 2 on Expedia is very deceptive, but instead glorifies it.

We stayed one night. The Riyad is deep in the Medina and can be hard to find, but they will send someone to bring you from the parking. Rooms are comfortable, well decorated in traditional Moroccan style and eclectic. Nice hot showers. Delicious breakfast in the morning. We enjoyed our stay, only issue is managing getting luggage from parking to the Riyad because it is a long walk, but they are very helpful and nice.

The breakfast was the typical Moroccan breakfast. The room was spacious and cozy.
Cons: I wrote before our arrival , that We would like to have dinner in their restaurant. I never got an answer until we arrived. The restaurant was full. Finaly they tried different other restaurants that were full. We ended up as the only guests in a not good restaurant I know it is not their responsibility, but if they had answered me, I could have made a different reservation.

After staying in a "variety" of places while visiting four other cities in Morocco, this Riad felt authentic and was exactly what we needed: a taste of luxury in a very central location. We booked the bougie suite on the top floor, which meant that we had the terrace to ourselves almost the entire time. The rooftop pool was most definitely our favorite aspect, and we spent a lot of time just laying out, swimming, listening to music, and relaxing after having had many intense days of sightseeing - it was clean and like a little oasis amidst the neighboring satellites and rooftops. The suite itself was also clean (albeit a little dated) and very spacious, the bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom featured a huge bathtub that I enjoyed immensely (caveat: it is a doorless bathroom!). The wifi worked well in our room too, despite being on the top floor, so watching shows at night was possible. The common area downstairs, where they offer a delicious and varied breakfast (they served some sort of clotted cream which was divine), was really stylish and beautiful. Finally, the staff in the reception and the kitchen were very friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for a gorgeous place to stay while exploring Rabat or just relaxing, this place is for you.
Cons: We really really enjoyed our stay but a couple things were not to our liking, the biggest of which was the bathroom situation. For some strange reason it was basically open to the rest of the room and meant using the toilet was a group experience. We cannot imagine that ANY couple would want to poop in a room without a door - and our solution was to go outside while the other did their business. That said, this was not possible in the middle of the night and waking the other person up with some less than sexy sounds/smells was not an option - hence frantically searching for the toilet downstairs at 3 AM; Pro tip: ask where it is when you check in. Less importantly, but worth mentioning, is that the sofa was quite dated and uncomfortable, and the colorful Las Vegas-style lighting was tacky and simply did not match the overall ambience.

The staff was very helpful with everything and kind as well. I had a 2-nights upgrade for a suite, as my room had a little issue, which was cool. The building is beautiful and I enjoyed the interior design very much. Also, I benefited from the pool at the roof top to relax after work. The breakfast was delicious. The location in the Medina is very beautiful. I would come back next time.
Cons: My bedroom was located on the ground floor next to the inner courtyard in the middle of the Riad. This led to lack of privacy on the sound level (noise from breakfast preparing or other guests - but also my noise from the room would be heard in the courtyard) and therefor also lack of sleep. Next time I will book a room on the first or second floor, as I know better now.

My daughter and I traveled to Morocco for the first time and decided to stay in riads rather than hotels most of the time. We flew into Casablanca from Miami and then took a private transfer to Rabat. Our driver called the riad and let them know the approximate time of arrival and the riad sent someone to retrieve us and our luggage. The riad was perfectly located on the edge of the Medina so that we could come and go as we pleased while shopping and sightseeing on our own. Sena, our hostess for the 2 days was very accommodating making sure that we were comfortable and well fed. She served us hot Moroccan mint tea and cookies upon our arrival. Breakfast was a smorgasbord of breads, pancakes, boiled eggs, pastries, fruit salad, fresh squeezed juice, yogurt, coffee and hot tea. Riad Kalaa 2 is a lovely small guest house with beautifully appointed rooms and private baths. All rooms had high ceilings, large ornately carved wood doors, exquisite light fixtures, and bedding. Everything was immaculately clean. Breakfast and our afternoon/evening tea was served in the open courtyard. Sena and the rest of the staff made our stay very enjoyable. We would definitely return to Riad Kalaa 2 in Rabat again!

I loved my stay at Riad Kalaa 2. The hotel is located in the heart of the Medina and is just a minute or two away from the market streets and the beach is just 10 minutes away. The pool area at the roof of the hotel was great and private. The Riad staff was very kind and offered me late breakfast when they noticed I didn't come out of my room during breakfast hours. Good wifi connection too which was nice as the mobile surf in Morocco was quite expensive as an European.
Cons: Don't expect a lot of privacy when it comes to noices, sounds etc. At least not if you have a room on the bottom floor. There were a little bit of insects in the room (ants in one corner, a dead cockroach in the toilet one morning) but might be expected living in the Medina.

The staff were very welcoming, and the room was prepared in a very nice way for us. The room is different and authentic. Also not to forget the breakfast which was great.
Cons: As I arrived very late, it was very confusing to find the location. Also parking my car was not easy which around 7 to 8 minutes walk from the hotel. It wasn't amusing especially with the language. The start was not OK. But after that everything went well.

Rien à dire c'était bien propre. Il y avait une petite odeur de canalisations qui remontait dans la chambre Chichaoua, hormis ça c'était top.

One of the best places we have stayed ever. A little hard to find at first but with a map of the Médina and Google Maps you will find your way. The bedroom was very nice and clean and on floors. The lacking of handrails up to second floor was a little scary! The Staff was very helpful at all times. I will highly recommend this place!

This property is uniquely designed. Location is great, with you being easily accessible to everything. Staff could be more attentive to the guests. Upon arrival our hostess said should would provide things of interest etc, and never did, and seemed more interested in the phone calls than us.

We arrived at Riad Kaala 2, however there was no response at the door. Tried calling and permenantly engaged. Traced our steps back to Riad Kalaa (1) and tried to explain. Was told that 2 was closed during Ramadan and we were staying there. Riad Kaala is a fantastic place to stay but no communication and coukd see others being totally confused.

Riad parfaitement à la hauteur, la propreté des chambres, l accueil du personnel est au top vraiment. Le riad est situé au cœur de la Médina proche de toutes commodités tout en étant en retrait. C était génial. Encore merci au personnels.

This hotel is stunning. The rooms are modern and comfortable. I only had an issue in that i wasnt informed that the hot water is shut off from a certain time to certain time so had to wait over an hour for the water to heat up on the night off our arrival...guests should be informed. Also carry cash for payment off the tourism levy. Other than those 2 items, our 1 night stay at the Riad Kalala 2 was amazing and by far the most stylish Riad i have seen throughout our stay in Morocco

Great hotel set in the Medina with friendly and helpful staff able to provide good advise on places to eat and points of interest. Room was great split over two floors with a lovely bathroom, sitting area and mezzanine bedroom. It's worth paying a bit more for a better room. The pool on the roof was small but beautiful. The breakfast was great. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Thanks to Amine and Phino We are very impressed with the Interior full of decorated arches and columns. Rood patio looks nice although we did have a chance to use it. A stair goes to mezzanine level without a handrail was not a problem to us but it is better to have it.

Modern hotel preserving traditional architecture in the heart of the ancient city. Personalised service provided by managers and staff made this and its nearby sister hotels a great place for a small team of people to use as a short-term project working base.

The rooms are beautiful and unique. You can tell its a boutique hotel and that a lot of effort and thought went into the decor. Most of the rooms have lofts, which is exciting at first but not good if you don't like having to go up and down the stairs in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Our room was also quite hot and we could not find the remote control for the aircon. However, we slept ok and the room was spotless. Breakfast was really good and the location was convenient to walk to the various sights in Rabat. We felt the airport transfer of $22 was a bit expensive and tried to get a taxi ourselves. It was a complicated process and the taxi driver tried to take extra money from us so in the end we only saved ourselves $4. So, you might want to just go ahead with the transfer and save yourself the trouble.

Wonderful riad. Ideal location in the Medina within easy walking distance of Rue de Consuls and Ave Mohammed V. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Each room individually and very well furnished. Communal area well appointed. Good breakfast with plenty of variety and option of eggs/omelettes. Lovely terrace pool and sun bathing area.

Riad Kalaa 2 is located in the middle of the medina and has a couple of lovely rooftop terraces that overlook the medina. However, if you're looking for comfort, this might not be the ideal place: First of all, due to the construction of the old buildings in the medina, the rooms do not have windows that open onto the street but instead to the inside court of the riad. As pretty and atmospheric this may be, it doesn't allow much light into the rooms, making it uncomfortable to stay in you room during the day. Even with the windows and door open (and thus with no privacy, as it opens up to the common areas), the room is still very dark. Secondly, the drainage/plumbing in the bathroom didn't work properly and I stood with water around my ancles after only a couple of minutes in the shower. Thirdly, the room smelled very musty as if the moist from the bath couldn't get out of the room. Lastly, the breakfast was not very interesting nor very abundant. In total, it seems to me that the management care more about fancy lighting in the ceiling (you can choose from a variety of colours), decorations and the like rather than on getting the basics up to a decent standard, such as the drainage, room ventilation, a nice breakfast, etc. I wouldn't want to stay in this riad again, I would much prefer the Art Riad in the same chain (and located within a stone's throw from this one (see my recommendation elsewhere).
