Best location in Marrakesh! The swimming pool , hotel cocktails and its private garden area are a luxury and only 5 minutes walk from the Soul and the craziness. The bedrooms are not luxurious but they are clean…… and it is so quiet!!The hotel staff are friendly and the breakfast is great! It is a jewel as long as you are not looking for luxury bedrooms.

What a bad experience , never to be repeated. I'm a solo traveller so safety is a priority . Given a terrible room with awful shabby bathroom. Checking out the next day ...expected to be able to have a towel and use the pool next morning but was denied one several times even tho other guests given one .....I couldn't wait to get out of there , will never go there again I felt like a second class citizen

Fantastic location. Short walk to the Medina but the hotel is definitely not 4 stars( Tired) Great size pool but didn't show the depth Room facilities was basic ( no tea/coffee and no hand rails in shower as everywhere is tiled. (Slips) Catering more for the French specially breakfast. Struggle to give change when buying drinks. Would we come back here. . . No

The hotel is perfectly located to walk into the square where there are plenty of places to eat, drink, shop and visit. It also has a swimming pool, gardens and offers breakfast and snacks, all of which were the reason we booked. We have found the staff to be friendlier than mentioned in many reviews. There are also plenty of loungers. We didn’t pay a great deal so it probably represents value for money. We were surprised to find out that everything is cash only and they seem to struggle for change much of the time - probably to create tips. It needs a big refurbishment and the cleaners could benefit from some clean equipment to work with. Food wise there’s some choice, we’ve found breakfast and pool snacks to be fine but can’t comment on dinner as we’ve been eating out every night. Overall our stay has been fine but it’s definitely not a 4 star hotel.

I Wouldn’t waste my time booking this hotel ever again and would never go back to this hell hole. I Stayed here from 2nd august until the 10th august with room and breakfast included,Hotel looks nothing like the picture on the site, The staff are rude and perverts, when we arrived we asked to change room as it was cold & gloomy and next to a building site in a car park, we had ants in our second room, There is no basic appliances like kettle fridge iron ect as you cant take food or drink in your room and are told this when booking in, When you arrive you will be told that there is a tax on leaving the hotel of 216 Diram but they added 264 diram when we was leaving, The breakfast wasn't worth getting up for it was appalling, The was one member of staff that turned the air on off because we was sitting in the lobby, I don't think they like English people very much, I am not one for complaining but i am absolutely so angry at this hotel for the way we was treated, on leaving the taxi driver said it is a government hotel so this is why because they are unhappy, I suggest you book somewhere else and don't take the risk, this is a 4 star hotel and in my honest opinion i would give it a 1 star for the sun and pool, there is nothing nice about it, drinks are 25 diram each in the hotel, I understand that they have to make profit but they will try and make as much money as possible, outside shops charge 4 diram each for the same drink, i was so happy to be coming home and will never go back to Marrakesh ever as the disrespect dont end in the hotel. Good luck on finding a better place to enjoy your break i wish someone had told me this information before i booked

I advise you not to book this place, horrible smell in the room, not allowed to bring your own drinks, food, takeouts to the hotel/room without security and reception yelling at you and being angry… (food terrible only 3 options, drinks expensive) They expect you to eat stuff there which was horrible, waste of money. apart from that Morocco is a lovely country

The hotel seemed nice on arrival but we soon realised there is absolutely no customer service whatsoever. Our room had a blocked toilet, broken air conditioning, and a view of broken tiles and a dumping ground. We were told we couldn't move until the next day. Then we were given a room which was ok, cleanish (don't look under the beds) and everything worked. On leaving the hotel we were approached by a conman who attached himself to us and took us to a rip-off cooperative where they made argan oil. We were stupid and fell for it. Don't fall for it! The market square had snake charmers, monkeys on leads, tortoises for sale and donkeys being beaten and pulled along by rope around their tongues in one case. Horses are pulling carts for tourists in blazing sun with only dirty water in the troughs. The animal cruelty we witnessed was shocking. Everyone is after your money and weighing you up everywhere you go. The food in the hotel was tasteless, bland and unimaginative. I asked for a large glass of wine, he pretended to misunderstand are opened a bottle then made me buy the the whole thing. You have to buy water in the hotel at 5 times the price in the Carrefour (about 15 mins walk away), and they try to sign you up for trips which, if you look at the reviews, are just another tourist trap. The pool tiles are crumbling off the walls, there is tatty artificial grass round the pool which smells very unhygienic. The cushions on the loungers are dirty. Avoid!

Really bad hotel. AVOID. - Reception stunk of cigarettes - rooms are so outdated, bed sheets stained, paint peeling off the walls. My bed sheets were also wet on my bed. - room wasn’t ready at the check in time was over 1 hour and 1/2 - shower- if you can call it that, it was horrific - can’t take any food or drink into the pool - pester you whilst sat at the pool to order lunch. And then when paying they don’t give you change straight away and then multiple times they gave me short of change. - don’t let you bring alcohol into the hotel, not even into your rooms. They check your grocery bags. - they make you pay to print off boarding passes here

Useful location, tucked in grounds just across park from rear of Koutoubia so easy to find, near bus stops and medina. 24 hour security on entrance gate and in reception. Largish hotel(145 rooms?).Well staffed. Most spoke French ,some English. Rather dated and worn .Pool looked inviting and clean. Rooms clean. Lighting a bit dim. Spare blankets. Beds comfortable. Pillows OK. Hand held shower(liked for long hair).Hot water .WiFi worked well in the room. Heater functioned very well. Quiet at night and in the morning could clearly hear muezzins and the dawn chorus of birds in the garden. Breakfast .Semolina porridge/gruel tasty and not sweetened. Bean to cup coffee passable ,also instant stuff in a machine. The rest fairly mundane pastries, limited salad items ,ubiquitous Danone yoghurt, plastic cheese and spam. Water main damaged so no water for an hour or so then came out brown, but these things happen! Nothing special but for the money reasonable 4 days stay for my son and I.

This place needs a complete refurb. Oh my god the arrogance of the receptionist when we arrived who will do nothing to help you or treat you like a customer. Someone change her and put someone who actually smiles and helps customers. We were told we could get an upgrade when we arrive and made it sound like it was for my birthday but when we arrived the receptionist insisted we pay. And she did not budge for £90. It was so hard to get anywhere with them. In the end I treated the staff how they treated me - with contempt. I could believe the non existence of the hospitality. We did upgrade to a garden view and paid. The room is more basic than I have ever experienced. The plugs are under the furniture so hard to reach. Bathroom was hand shower or sit in bath eeeek. No no no. Breakfast the same every day every single day rubbish yet food on the streets is so cheap so why do they skimp on the food. No no no. Can’t believe that it so bad. I wish I had a plus. Please don’t stay here go stay in a riad where they treat you so well and really give you the service and hospitality you have paid for. OMG

This property was a huge disappointment. It advertised as a four star but was more like a two star hotel. The rooms were old and sad. Staff were rude and inattentive. The only plus is the location as it is walking distance to many interesting sites. We tried to minimize our time in the hotel.

I booked this a trip for my Mums birthday present, how embarrassing when we turned up to this. If you love to hold the shower up yourself when you wash and don't want the wall to do it for you, this is the place for you. Ripped and stained bedding, you can't access the plug socket next to the bed as the built in furniture has been fixed to the wall covering half of it. The cash machine didn't work half of the time we were there and the bar only accepts cash but don't bother getting anything other than a bottle of warm coke the cocktails were warm and without ice. The breakfast was the worst I've experienced in any hotel abroad. Stale croissants and pan au chocolat, chicken soup (wtf!), no fried eggs or bread for toast. The coffee was lovely though

Good breakfast . Staff friendly and helpful. Reception extremely helpful when we left behind an I pad. Very convenient to Medina and to good restaurants. Will go again Judith and Bea

Hotel Chems is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! I strongly recommend you avoid this hotel. The rooms are filthy, the corridors smell of sh*t. The staff are nothing but rude. You are made to pay city tax to the hotel, babies included. You’re not allowed to bring any drinks or snacks back to the hotel, if you do your charged A LOT of money. This hotel is not at all child friendly. For the price paid you’re better off getting another hotel.

I was given room 202. The view is a brick wall. The bed cover was old and not changed during my 7 day stay. The bathroom was dirty and had brown water coming out of the faucets. The mattress was old rickety and made 'bong' sounds sitting on the edge of the bed. The room TV, must be the smallest on the market and didn’t even work. The 'free' internet did not work. The passages smell badly of old cigarette smoke. Not allowed to bring in your own food, water or snacks. Extra hidden charges for everything , wear your hair down on the wrong day and it was 100 dirhams lol. Please stay away, avoid this very bad 'hotel', it is a disgusting smelly old dump. Hotel Chems is not suitable for business or tourist visits. Stay away!

This is by no means a 4 star hotel.yes the pool is lovely.but i dont expect to have to hold the showerhead to shower.and not having a fridge in the room .really. breakfast is OK plenty of staff on hand.barstaff may be teatotal but im not.measure of vodka would have just filled the cap.and i know they have to make a profit. But when it says 5.5 dh on the coke bottle its not savvy to charge 20.

The man who checked me in was very nice but it all declined after that! Room was ok came with a bath which i was so looking foward too however the water was luke warm and the water pressure meant you needed to wait a hour to fill the tub by this time the water is cold! The dark hair lady receptionist is nothing but rude! I asked where i could get my hair cut she responded we dont do that here i then enquired about a massage and she then laughed at me and said we dont do them here. Bit different to what your website says! So just assuming she is new i pulled it up on the website to which she looks at me like im stupid and says did you not listen we dont do them.

The things which I don’t like when I went there people cleaning the rooms they was knocking on the door in a very hard away all the time and they wasn’t doing very well with the cleaning, linen was not in a good quality porters, they wasn’t okay to help with the luggage for a check in and check out we pay Money for the transfer, no one come to pick up us from airport in the middle of the night and when we asked for early pick up they told us we cannot do that and after three calls they agree and the driver was 35 minutes late!!!!! For a breakfast room they haven’t got water given to the people and all the time they was short with things if I have to account displays as a four-star hotel I can give you one star((((((((((

This is a terrible hotel and Expedia should be ashamed to have it as part of their organization. The concierge is the only positive about this hotel. Otherwise, it is disgusting. The breakfast included antique croissants, which could act as rocks as part of an avalanche. I am pretty sure some dictators of various countries are more friendly than the receptionists. I believe the snake charmers of Medina need to come and play a tune for the receptionists to perhaps cheer them up or an investment into customer service training. The cleaners are nice but are really attempting to either polish a turd or roll it in glitter. NEVER NEVER NEVER book during a new year as they will do you for £100+ per person for a “Gala Dinner” that involves the breakfast staff adding a bow tie to their morning blazers and serving poor food. The majority of guests left part way through the meal, as it cuisine began to replicate a scene from Indiana Jones. Back to the concierge, a good man who booked us two good trips, which allowed us to stay away from Hotel Chems for at least a few hours - god bless you!

Dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I’ve stayed in plenty of 9 to 30 dollar a night Riad’s and cheap hotels all over Morocco and this place was absolutely the worst. Horrible staff, rude and unhelpful. Bed literally had ants crawling on it. The room smelled of raw sewage so bad when we would turn the room fan unit on. The staff refused to move us. So we checked out after our first night of 5 and went to a different hotel. I couldn’t believe the service and dirty conditions of this hotel. Every trip I’ve ever taken to Morocco I’ve always been impressed with the kind people and beautiful facilities. This place should be a last resort, if you can go somewhere else do it!!!!!!!

We loved how close the hotel was to the main square, however some of the staff were incredibly blunt and unhelpful at times. We asked to have breakfast arranged for an early start (4:45am), having paid for this, we were looking forward to water and fruit at the least, and yet the reception told us to speak to the restaurant staff, who told us this was impossible. A shame really. Booking tickets was also a little difficult and required two people to speak to the front desk separately to get a response!

The breakfast is awful. The place is abundant in oranges but they give you concentrate to drink. But that doesn’t matter, the food is cheap and just awful. This hotel declare themselves as 4 Star yet no wifi inside the room, air conditioning not working when Marrakech temp was 35deg C. Hotel.com MUST insist all their hotels to write clearly if Free Wifi "" means including wifi in the rooms or just in the hotel lobby. With the digital age, wifi is important for travellers to be connected for families and business. I will not book any hotels whom do not provide wifi in the rooms.

We arrived the hotel around 2:40pm and were assigned a room after a bit of wait (check in time is from 2pm). When arriving our room, there were a few puddles of “fluids” on the floor and the room had a very bad smell. The cleaner was still in the room and it looked like that it would take a while for the room to be ready so we requested to change the room. The reception staff reluctantly gave us another room after some 15 min of wait. Another room, which was 2 rooms from the original one assigned, was given to us. The door of the room was open and looked like that it was still not ready. The room had no towels or soaps at all and a pair of socks were still hanged in the balcony. The pillow cases were wet (not sure about the bedsheets). As we had to go out to eat asap, we didn’t ask to change the room again. We went to speak to the cleaning lady who was still in the original room assigned to us but she was having a facial mask on her! We spoke to her saying that there were no towels or soap in the room. She quickly washed off her facial mask and said to us that she would put some towels in the room while we were out. We didn’t find any towels or soap when we were back few hours later and had to get them from the hotel staff again. The hotel gave us a really bad impression and we will never book this hotel again!

A clean, comfortable, characterless hotel, close to the centre of Marrakesh with friendly staff. I chose it over more characterful riads because it had a swimming pool and tennis court. However, the pool was too cold to swim in; the tennis racquets were mediocre and the balls were flat. Breakfast patisseries were over cooked and the tea was quite cold.

Says its a 4 star but would put it at a 2 star and would congratulate the photographer because the photos were deceiving. Staff friendly and hotel clean but it desperately needs an update. Old, badly painted walls, a lot of mold around the bath, shower without a fixing, badly fitted old windows. Breakfast was included but there was very little to offer but some stale pastries. Situated in a pretty rough area near the square. Would definitely choose a 5 star in Marrakesh AND in the new part of the town.

Great location - that's about it. Basic room, basic amenities, all extras required cash payments (bar, snack area). Awful breakfast except for the fresh orange juice. Snack bar food was reasonable. Pool was freezing cold but a nice sun trap. This is definitely not a 4* hotel by any standards however the location to the Medina was excellent and for a 2 day break in the city it is probably reasonable value for money.

Perfect location, nice garden and pool. Rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor are ok, ground floor not recommended. The furniture is old, the hotel requires renovation, but it's clean and has kind of "old fashioned atmosphere" with soft jazz playing in the lobby. Internet available. Breakfast includes mostly sweet product like croissants, yogurt, corn flakes and jam, but also eggs, one kind of cheese and ham, tomatoes and olives. Coffee from the machine and great Moroccan tea. Snack available at the pool bar during the day and dinner at the restaurant ( rather expensive).

I think you get what you pay for in this fairly run of the mill tourist hotel. It seems to be an overnight stop for large coach parties who are literally in and out and the upside of that means longer stayers have room at the pool. The pool and the location sell it. Good sized pool with lovely gardens of orange trees ( in fruit when I stayed) dun geds worn out. It’s only ten/15 minutes walk to the main Square - a lovey walk through a formal garden and past the mosque. All rooms have a balcony and the ones facing the front of the hotel have evening sun. The breakfast is unimaginative- no fresh orange juice and a garden full of oranges. Dry pastries and peel your own fruit. There was the other ham cheese olives eggs but basic. I had the dinner buffet which wasnt too bad but in horrible brightly lit dining room. The plus was the fact they serve wine which is not easy to find st a decent price in town. The staff were polite, you generally get back what you put out. Rooms are basic, soap dispensers in bathroom, hair drier, lots of hot water, good! March can be cold. Curtains hanging off, pillows hard, as I said, you get what you pay for. Its pretty cheap for central Marakesh.

Just returned after 4 night stay at Chems, the hotel is dated but its a reasonable priced hotel, the rooms are clean, staff friendly & helpful. Great location for the Medina & New Town. The garden/pool area is a real sun trap so great for sun worshippers. We had a superior room which opened onto the garden/pool area, the balcony had a sun lounger & table & chairs, very adequate for our purposes. I would return again.

Not a bad hotel when considering close by attractions only by walking distance. We just have to walk 10 minz and we were at jame al fina square. Rooms are small but clean. If you are considering the location then sure not a nad place but with kids won’t recommend

A very homely place. It did have a very relaxed and quiet feel. Think holiday inn in a good neighborhood. The staff was courteous. I would stay here again for sure. Not major issue checking in or out. Everything is in walking distance plus there is a healthy supply of taxis and horse carriages right outside the hotel.

Very disappointed in this so called 4 star hotel Room was outdated and very poor quality. No stand up shower. No hair dryer although advertised. Very large hotel and they didn't have even an iron for the guests. Very dirty tennis court. They had only 3 rackets and two of them were broken and they only had one ball. Very disappointing stay.

This is really a typical 2 star holiday hotel. We paid for our room in advance - a standard twin room - and they put us in a room overlooking the entrance. When my friend complained she was told that you had to pay extra for a better view. There was no other twin room option on Expedia to do so. However they charged us a further £70 for a new room. I don't think it was worth bothering. There were plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas and the pool was nice and kept clean by the ever present pool lifeguard. However, we were the minority in being British and everyone (and I mean everyone) spoke French. The staff are nice enough - tip them early on and you'll probably get better service than we did. We tended to tip more at the end of the week and they all got friendly then! The air conditioning is very poor and doesn't do the job in the high heat which means sleepless nights. The furniture on the balcony is uncomfortable and was filthy when we arrived. I wiped it down myself just so we could hang towels on it. As a result we didn't once sit on the balcony and didn't see many people doing so either. The hotel is in a quiet location and walking distance to the Square which was good. However, we ended up getting taxis to the Malls instead to get away from the constant hassle to buy and therefore you'd be as well off anywhere. Pick a nicer hotel on the outskirts away from the hustle and just go into the Square once to visit - unless you're a braver soul

Wifi does not work in the rooms. There is no gym, although it is stated as an amenity. Expedia ranks this a 4 star, but it is between a 2-3 star. I am losing confidence in Expedia review system. Expedia does not do any due diligence on the hotels. The taxis in front will rip you off.

Great location, Beautiful garden but the rest does not even come close to a 3*. Rooms outdated and bathrooms dirty. Customer service non existent if you do not tip. Had a dead fly in my salad and the waiter tried to convince it fell in it while I was eating. Not an apology we paid in full. Breakfast very poor everyone at the pool was complaining about it. Lunch menu just a few items and same everyday. The dinner buffet was better. One morning although the restaurant was empty waiters told me to move while I was already eating from a 4 people table to a 2 people table. They did not help me move my plates either I suppose it was because we did not tip them previously. Would only recommend for the pool and garden.

If you're looking for location and a pool- this is your place. It is located in walking distance to some of the most popular attractions. If your room and wash closet matter, look elsewhere. The bathroom inside of our room left a lot to be desired. There was mold in the shower, toilet needed to be scrubbed, was overall in need of attention.

Overall it was a good experience. Breakfast was good with wide varieties of continental and local selections. Though somewhat lacking: there was ironing board, no kettle for tee and coffee in the room.

We stayed at this hotel now 3 times. First stay was pretty disappointing but because of the location we stayed again last year and felt there had been a slight improvement in the place, especially breakfast, so when coming again this year we decided to book again, but that was not a good decision. We went in March which for us the weather was hot, but the A/C was not operating because the hotel staff said it was winter in Morocco? So when you turn on A/C you get heat, it was 27 degrees i didn't need more heat. Breakfast was rubbish, last time there was a lady making fresh pancakes but this year they were all pre made and were like rubber! You couldn't even cut them with a knife. Service at breakfast is awful too, empty table are never replenished with new cutlery or napkins and you have to wander off to find them yourself. So over 3 visits and no consistency in the food or service, best to go buy something nice and fresh outside for a few dirhams than get up to go here. Be careful of what is offered on booking websites as it is not offered at hotel. No iron and ironing board in rooms despite it being advertised. Air Conditioning was also advertised but not available, a key reason we booked here having also stayed in a stuffy riad before. when we complained they took no responsibility and blamed these websites, and make you feel like an idiot for complaining about it even though i was asking for something i had paid for! The hotel itself is set in a lovey location

On our first day the lock came off the front door of our room, the sinks were blocked and water started to drip down from the ceiling in the bedroom. The visit in this hotel has put me off marrakech. Also wanted to add that once the lock was replaced on the entrance door to the room it needed replacing again. The TV reception in the hotel is very bad.

Hotel very well situated in relation to the Centre of the city. Very nice staff but poor domain of English language. Breakfast boaring. Beadrooms dated and no coffee or tea facilities but clean and very pretty view from the veranda. meals at the hotel very bland. We preferred to eat outside. It was cheap and better. Overall if you are on a budget good hotel to stay but do not expect a four star hotel! Anyway, you just get what you paid for! Very nice garden and swimming pool!

The room was nice and large, bit dated and tired. No refrigerator. The pool was excellent in nice large gardens. The hotel is quiet at night. Ideal for older folks and couples. The real plus is location. Lovely 5 minute walk to the main square and souks.

The hotel was lovely and the staff were very nice. Only problem we had as soon as we arrived wears they have us a room with 2 single beds and were going to push them together to make a double! We explained we didn't want that and the problem was resolved quickly and we were given a room with a double bed. As soon as we arrived, our room wasn't ready so we had to wait for 25 minutes until the maids had cleaned it. After going into our room, we had no more problems. Everything is close to the hotel, all the staff are lovely!

Good location for exploring Marrakesh in walking distance. The hotel is a bit old and need maintenance, but the room was clean and bed was comfortable and clean. The door to the room feels quite unsafe and we blocked it with a big suitcase at night and got a good night sleep.

4* rating should be reviewed! I have stayed in other 4* hotels in Marrakech and there is no comparisson. This hotel is a budget hotel when you don't care about hygiene or service too much.

The hotel is cheap and cheerful. If you want full 5 star luxury this is not the place for you if you want to sit in the sun by the pool and use the hotel as a base then it's perfect. Clean sheets and rom made up daily. We only had a phrase book as not good with French but managed ok and a couple of staff had English but not the first language. There is no entertainment here only a piano player. The breakfast however could do with improving but if croissants and cereal re fine then it's ok, tea coffe and mint tea are available. Easy 5 min walk to the square for restaurants and bars. Gardens were not as well kept as hotel photos

Just 2 minutes to the Koutoubia Mosque & 5 from the main square Jamaa El Fnaa couldn't be better situated. Lovely atmosphere if a little quiet during Ramadan. Great continental breakfast, very friendly & helpful staff. Money exchange in hotel if required. Pool very clean & plenty of lounges both around pool & in very well maintained gardens. Can order food anytime of day, dinner grand but more choices in town! Rooms cleaned daily & have balcony, shower, hairdryer, safe. No fridges in rooms. Please take cat food with you if an animal lover - there are a few around the hotel grounds incl. a pregnant mom & kitten, but also many more around the city. Highly recommended!

Hi we went in the first week of May. The hotel had its plus points and negative points. It's great value and it's clean and not a massive hotel. I prefer that. Booked a double room it was 2 single beds joined together they do move apart during the night! Small flat screen TV only has French channels, breakfast buffet is nice. I didn't try the hotel food during the day felt it was abit pricey. No fridge or iron, you can pay for ironing services, no tea and coffee in the room. This is very close to the square that's a big plus and travelling around the city is ideal. Careful of the taxi drivers outside haggle hard! Know your prices and stick to them when you walk away they call you back if they don't, go to the end of the road and stop a taxi they will accept your offers. We landed at 9am the hotel is 20 mins from the airport haggle the taxi drivers we eventually paid 100dh they wanted a lot more!! The hotel kindly let us check in early. The pool is clean and the view of the mineret is awesome but it was cold so I didn't use it. The dj plays bland music Hope this has helped. It's a lovely small hotel ticks all the boxes except the staff speak limited English and the channels are in French

Definitely not 4 star. plus points - Close to medina and friendly staff. Breakfast boring with very little choice. Rooms dull & drab. Full hotel needs to be updated. Grout breaking off from between the the shower tiles was very painful underfoot. Shower had to be held by hand as there was no adjustable bracket. 3 star at a push but cheap deal so really can't complain too much

I have travelled to Marrakesh several times at various hotels and normally do not leave negative reviews. However, I felt strongly enough about this experience to copmplain first with some positives at the end! I chose the CHEMS for convenience to Jemma el Fna square (Medina) I'd read many negative reviews about unhelpful staff etc though I prefer to check things out for myself. Sadly, I agree regarding the reception staff. Rooms very tired and shabby with broken furniture and dirty walls. very drafty and cold at night. wifi although available throughout hotel was intermittent weak signal and unavailable for hours at a time. TV in Spanish French Arabic German. Only BBC news in English. Breakfast basic. Tea always cold and stewed. Service very poor. Gardens pool area beautiful. My room view overlooked car park and building site adjacent with two huge cranes. Sadly no other rooms available! All hotel literature/instructions in French. Most of staff did not speak English and were not helpful. Good base for the Medina but I would never return to this hotel as not the experience I had hoped for :-(
