He ido muchas veces a marruecos y primera vez que me pasa

After 3 nights in Marrakesh we were looking for a little bit of luxury. Sad to say that despite the enticing photographs, this place did not meet my expectations, especially given the cost of the stay. The staff were delightful (although they charged us excessive amounts of money for a bottle of water, and then claimed money for them to take a taxi to check out bus timetables when in fact they rode their bike there and back) but the hotel itself was pretty shabby and the facilities were non-existent.

Hannan at the front desk and the other women on staff are so welcoming and helpful. Hannan gave us a very good explanation of the city and medina. The location of the hotel is really perfect, so close to everything. It was only a 5 minute walk to the Medina and less than 1 minute to the beach. There were a few downsides to our stay however. Our room had an awful, musty smell. We could not escape it, even with the windows open. It seeped into our clothing and every time we came back into the room, it would overwhelm us. The heating/air conditioning unit did not work and the door knob fell off our door. The pool was also moldy and uninviting. However I will say that the beds were very comfortable and the staff made up for the less attractive parts of the hotel.

Overpriced hotel that is inconsistent with claims made on website. The staff were great and very friendly and helpful but had to be constantly apologetic about the terrible state of the hotel. This hotel would have been fabulous 20 years ago but is now not maintained properly. The rooms smell and the walls are dirty. The breakfast was really good and the staff member who served the breakfast was very friendly and helpful. However overall not worth the high cost per night. Pool and surrounds would have been very nice a decade ago but has since been let go...it is a shame

The location is brilliant, everything else is fairly average. We've been staying at similar priced properties for a week so not what to expect in Morocco. The hotel, sorry to say it, had a faint smell of urine and the decor needs updating.

Great hotel just by the beach. I went with my sister. As per the rest of Morocco we were harrassed until we got to the door. Once we were in it was lovely. The girl at the front desk is lovely. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. The grounds aren't huge but there is tonnes to do by the beach. The medina is also close by.

We had booked a suite with twin beds which was quite expensive for Morocco. When we got there hey did not have this available and tried to fob us off with a standard twin room and then a suite with a double bed - we are two friends so did not wish to share a bed. The rooms we were offered were grubby and smelled of damp - I could have cried -we had been so looking forward to this, and the cost was twice as much as we had paid for a beautiful Riad in Marrakesh. We checked out and went to a far better standard hotel 20 yards away for the same money

Hotel a little bit scare for the first time, but we've got fantastic "boat room" & excellent service. The girl on the reception was fantastic =) She made everything to do our stay better (not intrusive): changed "not working fridge", ordered a bikes for rent & smiling every time. Thanks a lot for hospitality A hotel a little bit old for the price Swimming pool is too small for swimming & not heated Breakfast looks good but it is just bread & eggs without any beacon or vegetables

Great location just outside the walled town. Exceptionally comfy bed in a nice room, though slightly rough around the edges like the rest of the hotel. Some super friendly and helpful staff, the speed is relaxed at best but that is Morocco! We enjoyed the sheltered pool area and enjoyed a kid free zone and the lovely 'sister hotel' which had a wonderful roof terrace, courtyard and spa. For the value this is a great option.

This is a charming hotel, close to the Medina but not so close that there was unwanted noise. The standard of cleanliness was outstanding and the service was very attentive. Being a small hotel, staff remembered our breakfast preferences for example. The enclosed garden is beautiful and provides sunny spaces on days when the wind is too strong to go to the beach. The mezzanine library is a perfect touch. The only negative was the unreliability of the complementary wifi. Strongly recommended for families, couples, or singles.

Lovely hotel, very close to the beach and the medina. Staff were very helpful. I celebrated my 60th birthday whilst there and the staff were fantastic allowing us to take over the library and the maids decorated our room while we were out....great fun. Will definitely go back. The only slight criticism would be that we didn't always get fresh orange juice at breakfast depending who was serving, but only had to ask!

Staying at the Hotel Vagabond was a pleasant, peaceful experience after the hurly-burly of Marrakesh. Our room was spacious and cool, although noisy from the street below. The staff were helpful and courteous. The hotel and the pool are both in need of a facelift. However, it's just a stroll from the beach and it has a pretty garden. The breakfast was excellent. Altogether, good value for money.

Easy to get a taxi from the airport direct to the hotel, since the hotel is outside the city walls, but it is only just outside, so walking in to town is very quick and easy. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was typically Moroccan (bread, cheese, jam etc) and great. The pool within the grounds was brilliant - not big, but perfect for cooling off. Also not too cold - we stayed in Marrakech previously, and the pool there was too cold to stay in because it got no sunlight. This pool was in the sun, but there was shade around the edges on the loungers. For a superb meal, check out La Cle de Voute on Rue Derb Lallouj - Very reasonable prices and BRILLIANT food!

Very friendly staff, unfortunately whilst we were here the weather wasn't great so we couldn't take advantage of the garden and sunbathing/ pool area, but none the less it was beautiful. The room was lovely, very big and spacious and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Great library and breakfast, which set us up for the day. Compared to the Riad's it was more contemporary Morrocan than traditional, but worth the stay. This place is a hop skip and jump from supratours stop and from the shops and restaurants. One thing to be aware of is the tax, although on our booking it showed we had paid the tax we were made to pay a local tax also.

It's a 45-second walk to the beach, 2 minutes to the medina. One half of the hotel has ocean views; the other half, well the post office. It's handy to have the post office there, though, which also has an ATM outside. There's another ATM on the way to the medina. (Both charge large (~$6) fees. The hotel has a hammam, where you can get a massage (with or without). It's not the fanciest but is convenient! The staff was just great. Breakfasts are a little skimpy, but they'll make you eggs. The settings are all elegant. Some rooms are more dramatic than others. I've never found a European shower I liked (e.g low water pressure and you can't point the showerhead at you), and this was also the case here. Bottled water (1/2 liter) is $2 in the minibar. You can buy larger bottles much more cheaply in town.

We stayed here after 20 days of backpacking. We wanted to relax and catch our breath in a place that offered a pool. Essaouira is great! And the beach is just perfect. Since there is some wind in Essaouira we were specifically looking to stay in a hotel that could offer a swinningpool and a bit wind shield. This hotel was perfect for us. The location is just couple of meters away from the beach, the medina and there is postoffice just accors the street. We found it also very practical to have Supratours bus nearby as well. Since we stayed here during the ramadan, we were almost the only ones. That made our stay even better :)

First, the rooms are amazing. Boutique, aesthetically pleasing, comfortable, well decorated and well maintained. The staff were very friendly, helpful in every way, including recommendations. When we booked the lowest option of the rooms, hotels.com reported the room had a furnished balcony with the room, which wasn't the case. It was an error on the part of hotels.com, but the staff upgraded our room for free anyway. Then trying to extend the room another night, I booked through hotels.com again, but accidentally booked the wrong night, which could have resulted in my losing all of the cost of one night, but they took care of that as well. Thirdly, our stay included my wife's birthday, which the staff discerned from her passport, and surprised us with a fruit basket, rose pedals all around the room, and a huge and delicious cake at breakfast. Location is great, without the noise and pedestrian traffic of the medina, yet only a short walk to the medina or anywhere else one wants to go. One note of caution, if you decide on booking this hotel, I'd take the second or highest option. The lowest does NOT have a balcony and faces toward the street, rather than toward the ocean. It's definitely worth the extra $20 or $40 per night. As I mentioned, we ended up with the middle option and it had an amazing view. But with the lowest option, facing the street, you'll not want to ever open your curtains.

Wonderful greeting, great breakfast; one of the most beautiful hotels i've ever stayed in! The only issue, my husband and i being surfers. Its quite a trek to a surf board rental and the beach was not really surfable with the exception of kite boarding. Other than that it was great.
