Café da manhã típico, gostoso, mas tinha pouca variedade e todos os dias tinha a mesma coisa. Os pães são ótimos! A acomodação é ok, no quarto duplo os banheiros são maiores e renovados. Fiquei em dois quartos diferentes e estavam limpos, com tudo funcionando. Para quem gosta de passear caminhando, achei o hotel um pouco afastado (tudo o que queríamos ver era sempre de 20 a 30 minutos caminhando - tranquilo, mas no calor cansava um bocado). No entanto, a localização é estratégica para se deslocar por diferentes pontos da cidade e para ir ao aeroporto (muito perto). Há mercado perto e o bairro é bem tranquilo e limpo.
Cons: Acho que seria interessante ter um horário mais alargado de acesso à piscina, uma vez que faz muito calor e seria ótimo um banho de fim de tarde/noite.

The location was excellent and it is accessible to the main tourist spots, restaurants , cafés and mall. The staff were friendly and accommodating too. The room is always clean and new towels everyday were provided. Also, the breakfast was good and they serve it on time. Overall, we had a wonderful stay in the hotel, worth the money we paid..

Cons: 1. Pool? More Like an Empty Hole One of the reasons we booked this hotel was for the pool, only to arrive and find it completely empty. Not a drop of water. No signs of maintenance or explanation—just a useless, dry hole in the ground. 2. Low Water Pressure = No Proper Shower Taking a shower here is an ordeal. The water pressure was so weak that it was impossible to properly rinse off. It felt like trying to shower under a leaking faucet. 3. Scammed by Receptionist The receptionist blatantly overcharged us on the city tax. She said she was exhausted from fasting for Ramadan, which we understood, but that doesn’t excuse what happened. She charged us way more than the listed rate, then acted confused when we pointed it out. Despite we clearly saying it was too much, she just kept pretending she didn’t understand and never corrected her “mistake.” A total scam. To be clear that the remaining receptionists were much nicer and helpful. 4. Terrible Breakfast – Stale and Repetitive Breakfast was the same every single day: dry, stale bread, bad coffee, and tasteless pastries. Zero effort, zero variety, and definitely not fresh. It felt like they were just recycling old food. 5. No Outlets in a Triple Room Our room had three beds but only one visible electrical outlet. In this day and age, that is ridiculous. We had to take turns charging our phones, which made planning our days incredibly inconvenient. 6. Ridiculous Food & Drink Policy The hotel does not allow guests to bring in any outside food or drinks—not even bottled water! This means you are forced to buy everything from them at ridiculously high prices. A bottle of water cost more than triple what you’d pay at the Medina. It’s an obvious cash grab, and it made our stay even more frustrating.

Cons: As soon as I entered there are signs everywhere telling guests the cannot bring food into the hotel, and to a degree, I get that but they also won’t let you bring Water in. Now to a foreign visitor who really needs to drink bottled water this is just bizarre … but you soon realise that you can have bottled water … but only if you buy theirs !! It’s totally ridiculous. You can’t bring in your own snacks or water. I was shown the restaurant when I asked about food , but I decided to eat out. I’m glad I did as when I called in after I returned, it just seemed full of locals and many were smoking. The Bath was all rusty around the plughole, but also, they won’t let you actually have a bath because they don’t give you an actual plug !! … I think it’s to save money on hot water and you mush have a shower. I did pull one over on them though, the free soap fits perfectly in the plug hole with a bit of force .. so I had a bath !! … but the last laugh was on them as the rusty plug hole actually leaks and it flooded the small bathroom and went out into the room so I had to use all my towels to soak it up. On to of all that, I was travelling with a bike (it was clean) with all my belongings on, and they actually wanted me to keep it outside !! … seeing as my room was probably dirtier than my bike, I was not impressed although eventually they did let me keep it in the basement. It was a bit nice convenient stop for one night. But if I had actually booked to stay there for a whole trip / holiday I would have been very disappointed , and from the outside it looks so grand and smart. Much better places available who are more welcoming to guests.

The reception was very friendly. They have a nice bar in the back with a retro artists on the wall. Very stylish decoration in the bar. The room and the hotel was very clean and tidy. I slept very well even though its on a big street.

Called reception and you can't get through as the phone kept ringing and thy didn't pick up called down and the person standing behind the counter said they will get someone to look at it but never did. Good clean hotel in nice location within Hivernage area of Marrakech, oldtown, medina and the square are a 15/20 min walk to the right and all the resort hotels, Nobu and Theatro and Casino 5/10 min walk to the left, Sarah at reception was brilliant and very helpful, room 206 is recommended as nice view of the front of hotel room 203 is good if you want a quiet room, Mustafa in the bar is good and special flag beer is good value, taxis are easy to flag outside the hotel roughly 10 euro to the airport and 5euro to the square, horse drawn carriage 1hour tour for 20euros for a group. The wee Tabak sells top ups and sim cards etc all at good prices. Overall nice experience with a free late check out and they will watch your luggage too.

Very nice hotel, ticked all the boxes, staff were lovely. Much better service than we experienced in other places in Morocco, it made us feel Marrakesh being much better than other cities we visited (like Casablanca).
Cons: Perhaps shover needs a bit of renovation, at least a better shower curtain. Just a little attention to detail could make a big difference.

The hotel offers overall not-bad value.
Cons: 1. The shower does not work properly. The same experience in two different rooms: - The warm water just stops. You wait to begin flowing again - The hangs for the shower headset is broken causing inconvenience ( in both rooms ) 2. The music from the coffee across the street is loud at about midnight every night. 3. The hotel staff WARN you NOT to bring snacks or biscuits or any kind of drinks you like (wine, juice), or even water to your room, instead they want you to order it from their restaurant.

We stayed here again after the desert tour, got a better room this time, functional shower. Overall the hotel has a good convenient location, walking distance to Medina, train station, supermarket. A nice comfy stay away from the crowd. Good breakfast.

Cons: The receptionist are not good. not helpful at all. they took the money from my card in advance and we said we don’t like the rooms they said it’s non refundable . you have to stay or you loose your money. they are suppose to take money on arrival not before. they didn’t give the option if you don’t like the rooms then you can leave. you have to stay if you like it or not. very disappointed.

It was a nice clean place with great reception area, bar with garden area and front courtyard to sit and spend time in the day/evening, pool to cool off and the room I stayed in was very nice. The bed was clean and comfortable and tv and phone do alert reception, we, bath and excellent powerful shower. My room was on the 2/3 floor and I accessed this via a lift

Cons: It was a cold breakfast with a smoked ham that disappeared not to return after a couple of days. The only other sort of cold meat we didn’t like. Half a glass of Orange juice was brought to you but not every day they said it wasn’t available when asked.

Cons: Bathroom ceiling about to fall down. No lock on bathroom door the front door is always open. £20 deposit that could not be returned due to no body being available at 7 am like the checkout time says absolute joke. they do this on purpose I think so they can keep your deposit as they know people fly early and not going to wait for £20 as they don't want to miss a flight tried to call the number 3 times no answer So all in £60 for a dangerous room where a man was sleeping in the living room who I believe just walked in off the street. Bathroom falling to pieces and the only good thing is location and view other than that's shambles.

Great location! Amazing staff makes you feel welcome during your stay. The person at breakfast although couldn’t speak English was very friendly and tries his best to make sure your breakfast is great and you have everything you need!
Cons: However, breakfast selection needs to be improved. Also would be great to have kettles in the rooms. The inside of some of the baths need some repair.

It's the worst hotel I have ever been in,very dirty and the toilet blocked and we couldn't even use it ,no internet at all till 12 at night ,they also gave me the wrong room and told me they gave it to someone else even though that I have booked it 😡very unprofessional, the worst breakfast you could imagine, I dont know how other people said they had so many options lol the breakfast they had was all sweet apart from boiled eggs.i will never go there again ,they also over charge you if you are not careful. So if you do go there lol watch your money and make sure you are not over charged.

breakfast was good cold meats breads croissants honey jam. pool was nice area you can have breakfast outside if you wish. rooms were clean beds very comfortable 1 English tv station with films on the tv. bathroom clean, aircon worked well and was quite. staff all pleasant on day shifts and cleaning ladies happy.
Cons: location was ok but needed taxi to go in to the center but taxis cheap remember to haggle for everything. had a little problem with one bar staff who kept overcharging but manager got on top of it and was very helpful. everybody wants your money haggle and always check change

We loved this hotel. It was near the action. It was a 25 minute walk to the main square, along safe streets. We even walked back from the square very late at night and felt safe. The price was very reasonable. The courtyard cafe/lounge was not expensive and was a perfect place to decompress. The rooms were quiet and clean. The thing that we liked best about this place is that it has soul. The lobby has a beautiful, painted ceiling and a wonderful, traditional Moroccan feel. The staff, especially the front desk, was exceptionally hospitable. We hope to come back again.
Cons: The coffee at breakfast did not taste good. Apparently, it was instant coffee. There was Moroccan tea at breakfast. Choose the tea.

The location of the hotel is perfect 20 min walk from Jamaa El Fan square through a wide, new and beautiful bulevard. Also close to a lot of beautiful sights in the newer part of Marrakech - Hivernage. The hotel might not be that fancy, but the value for money couldn't be better in this area. Fantastic staff as well.

Its my second visit at this hotel. Central place, close to the old city center (Jamaa el Fna Square) and new city center. The neighberhood is a safe area, and has cool restaurants for breakfast, lunch or diner nearby. Its not so noisy like in most area's in Marrakech, but its a pretty living street. The room and bathroom was clean, and the wifi was working perfect. The mans working behind the desk is friendly and helpfull. The cleaners are also friendly and greet you every morning. The hotel has breakfast and diner i think, but i didnt try it. Thank you Hotel Akabar, and hopefully see you next time!

Ok, let's be honest. The hotel has passed the best before-date. The premises no longer radiate status, flair and reliability. But we enjoyed ourselves. The staff is fantastic, the service is great. The room is beautiful and well-functioning, despite age defects. The breakfast was acceptable even if the selection was somewhat poor. The location is perfect a stone's throw from the medina. It's not Faulty Towers (yet).

The hotel was located in a great area.
Cons: The rooms was not so clean, the first room were stayed at the second floor has broken windows so the cold air get inside and the noise also (room 207) please fix it. The second room (room 405) we moved after the broken window the aircondition half days worked half days not work. Also at one bed the spring of the mattress it was broken and you can touch it with your foot. At both rooms the pressure at the bath was not good. It took you over 15 minutes to have a bath cause the water stopped all the time. We asked a hair dryer and they told us that they hadn't. At the front desk we asked to print us the flight papers and asked 2 euro for the prints. We have an argument with the receptionist Mohamed cause of this. Also when we arrived at Marocco Mohamed told us to arange a taxi from the airport to hotel and the cost told us that it was 20 euro. We took a taxi from the airport the cost was 10 euros. The staff were lovely, we would always come back to a nice clean room, they were very helpful, they even offered a taxi to the airport and gave us recommendations on where to go. Great location so many restaurants and shops around and the medina is a 15 min walk away!
Cons: The only thing that I would say could have been better is the breakfast options. I wish they offered fruit and fresh pastries or a wider selection of drinks.
