It was a beautiful riad and our room was large , but needed a little updating. The shower was powerful and hot. Nice touches, such as fruit and sweets in the room and rose petals on the bed . The staff met us outside the medina walls and organised airport collection and escorted us for our tour pick up to the same spot .
Cons: Unfortunately there was a miscommunication with the owner . We arrived late and had asked for a light supper that was confirmed, but not available when we arrived. Then due to staff shortage the next day no one was around to serve breakfast before we had to leave for our tour. The staff working there were lovely and very apologetic, but it was a disappointing start to our trip. We asked for a partial refund as the stay was expensive compared to our second riad experience , but we were not offered anything other than waving the city tax. We knew the riad was north of the medina and a good 30 min walk . Would recommend downloading maps.me offline maps to navigate.

The Riad is stunning, the cleaning crew left a different lovely design each night. The breakfasts are great and the reception crew is top notch, they assist you with great service.
Cons: As the location is not close to the central market it's better to go to gate Bwibat Laayadi and take a taxi to go to the center. As it's a long walk to the center otherwise.

It’s a very authentic Riad with very friendly, helpful staff. They helped us with our flight tickets, organizing a transfer to the airport and helping us get our bags to the pickup point. If I had more time I would have enjoyed the heated plunge pool and the beautiful terrace.
Cons: It’s a bit distant from the tourist strip and the main sights. This is also one of the features that make this Road a good choice for travel let’s looking for a more authentic experience. Be warned: taxis can not arrive near the Riad.

The Riad itself was lovely but what made is was the people; everyone was so lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. The food was delicious! Everyone was so helpful and made our stay very special!
Cons: You do need to walk through the Medina to get to the Riad, but it’s only a short (4 minute) walk into the Medina from the main/busy areas. You can easily be picked up from any of the surrounding busy areas

It was our first time in Morocco, and it was absolutely wonderful! The staff — Ahmed and Khaled — were incredibly helpful, kind, and welcoming. They set such a high standard that it will be hard to compare them with the rest of our journey. Truly beautiful people with genuine hospitality. You must try their dinner — it’s honestly one of the best meals we’ve ever had! The room itself was good value for the price, the riad was charming and peaceful, and the neighborhood felt very safe. It’s a bit farther from Al Fna Mosque, which actually made it a quiet and relaxing place to stay. You will definitely enjoy your stay here — guaranteed! 🌟
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect They need to add TV in the room, not really big issue for us

The decor and ambiance of the communal indoor and outdoor spaces is amazing and the attention to detail of all members of staff is faultless; breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We arrived late in the evening but had previously booked dinner and had a very romantic set-up waiting for us, and we enjoyed the tagines very much.
Cons: Although it's technically inside the city walls, it's very far from the most interesting areas and from restaurants, we ended up having to do hours of walking every day; the Riad is on several levels, with steep steps, it only has a few bedrooms, and ours was the worst one, it made for quite an uncomfortable stay. It was a well decorated and pleasant looking room, but not only was it upstairs (and I think it was the only room with no bathtub) but we had to go down 2 uneven steps to get in, then 3 even more uneven steps to get through a narrow (albeit very pretty) door into the bathroom, and then go up 6 steep steps to get into a small alcove-like space, only big enough for a queen-size bed, there were no reading lights by the bed, and not even enough room for a bedstand. There was no sofa or a comfy chair where we could relax, if we wanted to read a book, we had to use the common spaces (which were indeed very nice).

Good. I have never encountered staff like it anywhere in the world. Nothing was too much trouble . They would do anything to help you, organise trips, taxis, advice, whatever you needed they would sort it for you. They went above and beyond anything I have ever experienced. Bad. There was no comfortable seating to relax after a long day exploring. It was a little far out from the main part of the Medina.

An absolute gem in Marrakesh. The property is in a quiet location although walking distance from the heart of Marrakesh. The property only has 6 rooms so is very cosy and calm. We received such a warm welcome and were very well looked after. The room was very spacious with a typical design and cleaned to perfection every day. The breakfast was also amazing, with local pancakes and fresh juices in the top terrace overlooking the area. We simply cannot fault this place, highly recommend to anyone.
Cons: Nothing to dislike, the only thing I would recommend is that if you plan to have dinner at the Riad, make sure you give them notice before 12pm on the day

We booked a week at Riad Abbassia at the end of February. We knew from previous reviews that it was a long walk to the centre, but as the property details listed on booking.com boast an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, spa facilities and wellness packages, an “on site romantic restaurant, which is open for dinner, lunch, cocktails and high tea.”, and a bar, we thought we’d be fine and wouldn’t need to go out again in the evening and battle the long walk and busy streets 4 times each day. However, sadly it has none of those, but you can order a meal in the evening and either sit in the courtyard or up on the terrace. I think the owners need to update the Riad’s facilities on booking.com. It also states that a smartphone comes with the room, but we weren’t offered one and were told to follow the blue arrows on the walls to get to the main road. That said, the staff at Riad Abbassia are wonderful. Always smiling and really helpful. Our room was always spotless with lots of lovely touches each day. It was always much appreciated. We had a lovely breakfast on the terrace each day, with a pot of coffee, warm milk, fresh orange juice, hot water for my herbal tea and a mixture of local delicious crepes, cakes, pancakes etc., all set up beautifully on the table. It is a fabulous building, spotlessly clean, smells divine from all the orange blossom in the courtyard and has lovely soft music playing, which is very relaxing and a total haven away from the busy streets and cars, not to mention the motor bikes and bicycles that one has to dodge every single day - even in the souks. The “swimming” pool is just a small, unheated plunge pool, but good in the Summer to cool down I imagine.
Cons: To find that a lot of the listed facilities were not offered and the long walk to the centre (around 30 minutes each way) which, like the centre, is also fraught with dodging cars, motorbikes and cyclists down narrow passageways, and the necessity to get taxis in the end.

It was an oasis in the craziness of Marrakesh. The property was stunning. Only 8 rooms I believe. It was about a 20 minute walk to the square. Alleys are chaotic and filled with scooters zooming by. Be careful. There is a parking lot about a 5 minute walk from the Riad. To find the Riad, use Google maps. Both Waze and Apple Maps sent us to a very different location in the city. Each room is individually decorated and breakfast felt like a special occasion with coffee cake, crepes, fresh squeezed orange juice/tea/coffee under the blossoming orange tree in the court yard or in the ornate dining room. If our travels bring us to Marrakech again, we would love to be able to stay in Abbassia again.
Cons: Challenging to find. Don’t hesitate to asks a local who offers to show you the way (for some cash).

Everything! Excellent riad, brilliant staff, huge room and very clean too. There were so many thoughtful little touches from the way our rooms were made on a daily basis to the inclusion of a hair dryer and straighteners in the room itself. There was also a radiator in the room that we used because we ran on the colder side. The water in the shower was nice and hot. The bed was super comfy too! The breakfast was great and served daily from 7am to 11am wherever we wanted and one day we had it in our bedroom another on the rooftop. At night they put candles on and play some relaxing music in the forecourt which creates a wonderful ambience. Fyi - the distance to the square is about a half an hour walk. It wasn't an issue for us as we preferred to be in the slightly less tourist part. Ahmed was on standby for any questions and very friendly and professional. Overall, excellent stay and would definitely go back again.
Cons: It's not an issue for us, but it isn't possible for a car to drop you to the riad, so it's about a 5 minute walk from the nearest car park. That said, the team came to get us and help with our luggage to and from the riad and even offered to assist us during our stay, too.

The service given in this Road was nothing short of exceptional. From arranging airport transfers to dinner and trip recommendations. Ahmed, the main man, looked after every need meticulously. He provided a data loaded smart phone to ensure we could navigate the surrounding areas to car parks and medina ( the only downside to this trip was navigating the way to ad from the hotel through a rabbit warren of alleyways) Ahmed provided what can only be described as 5 star service during our stay but in particular when serving breakfast and the occasional evening meal we had on site. In addition, Khalid, and the other staff were also extremely helpful and could not do enough for you. So, apart from the slightly anxious (to begin with) episodes of walking to and from the hotel, a superb place to stay.

Service: Mahdi and his colleague Ahmed did an amazing job! They always asked if we needed something. Even when my Girlfriend got sick Mahdi cared for her and brought her as many tea as she needed and told us where we could find the next pharmacy. When we went out to explore the city we always got a mobile phone, so we had some Internet. They gave us tips which places we could visit, we could reach them 24/7 and they were super friendly in general. Room: The Room was cleaned every day and would always be decorated nice! It also had an air condition. Food: Every evening we could choose time and place for the next breakfast, which was always very delicious. They variated each day with bread, crêpe, eggs, yogurt, vegetables or other stuff. We enjoyed it each day on the rooftop, which was a highlight.
Cons: Location: The Riad is 30mins from the main place away, so you have walk a bit and there are less tourists then in the middle of the city. You have to expect to be talked to by locals to guide you in the wrong direction. Just ignore that and use the phone from the Riad or even your own to get to the places you want.

First of all an enormous thank you to Mehdi and Ahmed for welcoming us every time we arrived at the riad. Even though we arrived late we were welcomed, provided with the necessities and able to check in smoothly. Housekeeping was the best we have ever experienced, not a speck of dust left behind anywhere in the room. It seems as if it was deep cleaned daily! As well as a lot of effort in making designs with the towels etc :) Breakfast is personalized to your preferences and in all honesty the quality of service was that good that it matched (and outperformed) butler service :). All questions can be answered by staff and the 'guide phones' allow for an easy way of exploring Marrakech. The Riad is located in the living area of local Morrocans, this area could be a bit impressive to navigate the first time but locals will help you out no problem. Fun part is that when walking to the town square (Jmaa El Fnaa) you will notice that the environment slowly transitions from local in to a more tourist environment. So you will come great shops in the beginning, that may otherwise be considered 'on the outside' of the tourist center. 20-30 minute walk to the center, a $/€10 taxi ride to return home if needed. Plenty of great restaurants available in the city center, last night we discovered that 'Limoni' was only a few minutes away. Here they offer both an Morrocan as well as Italian menu/experience, worth it! Enjoy your stay, I am certain that Mehdi and Ahmed will make it unforgettable, as they made it an unforgettable experience for us! Thank you! Axel & Marie

Everything! From the start: the communication started before we reached there, the Riad itself - full of historic features, 15 minutes near the 1st souk, 20 minutes to Jardin Majorelle, 30 minutes walking to the Square. Having the smartphone from them it's a bonus! The Riad has an impressive terrace where you can relax or have your breakfast. But, the most impressive are the staff, who went extra miles to make sure we are feeling comfortable and happy and will never forget this holiday. Ahmed with Mahdi welcomed us and guided us arranging outside dinners and trips. First was through Medina's historical places and local artisans, with Abdu, 2nd to Atlas's mountains through a Berbers' villages, to admire the waterfalls and the mountains view! 2nd night, they waited for us with a lovely dinner and a surprise desert! I can not thank them enough, especially when we arrived tired from our walks and they served us the wonderful mint tea... my husband loved the cakes! They welcomed us to our "home" as they used to call the Riad, and we felt as if we were home. Thank you all!
Cons: At begging we looked for the TV... but, actually you don't need it.

The Riad was charming and located in a quiet part of the Medina. The suite was clean, spacious & nicely decorated. The staff were absolutely lovely, Ahmed & Benj were so warm & helpful. Particularly helpful was the phone they give you so you have data and can keep in touch with them.

Everything from the look of the apartment, through the food, to the service was absolutely wonderful. Located in Medina, about 25min walk to main square in a quieter part of city. We loved our stay here and we would love to come back! AlsoThey provided us with a phone with data to navigate around the city which helped a lot!
Cons: Everything was amazing!

Everything was perfect, the roof top location where breakfast was served, the level of service from Mahdi and Akmed and the variety and taste of the breads and pancakes was first class.
Cons: The mattress on the bed was a little hard compared to what we are used to but it was not really a problem. The rooms were always cleaned to a 100 percent high standard and that was appreciated.

Property had amazing staff who catered to all of our needs. Breakfast was superb and the phone provided so we could use the hotspot was a really nice touch. Bed was super comfortable and the room itself was beautiful
Cons: Area of the riad is a bit off the beaten track. However our host (Medhi) would meet us and walk us too and from the riad to outside the old city walls which was very nice.

The breakfast served is delicious, with a variety of traditional Moroccan dishes prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Furthermore, the riad also offers the possibility of enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner, which I highly recommend trying. Riad Abbassia Marrakech is a true oasis of tranquility in the heart of the lively city of Marrakech. I had the pleasure of staying at this riad and was extremely satisfied with the experience.

My Stay In Marrakech Was AMAZING ! Mr Ahmed Took Care Of My Needs & Wants As No One Has Ever Before. I Felt Like I Was At A 5 Star Hotel. The Location Was Perfect For Myself, Transportation To And From Was Readily Available. The Food Was Delicious, The Mint Tea Was WONDERFUL ! Mr Ahmed Turned Me Into A Fan Of His Tea. This Was The Absolute PERFECT Boutique Hotel For Myself. I Was Able To Meditate, And Take Stock Of Myself Effortlessly. I Would HIGHLY Recommend ABBASSIA For Solo Travelers And Couples Who Want To Get Away And Explore A New World

Fantastic Riad, that’s located just outside the souk. It’s clean, quiet and has brilliant staff. They gave us a free phone so we had maps to get around with. The breakfast was excellent as well. Ahmed was exceptionally helpful and brilliant. Highly recommend staying here.

The hospitality of the staff was superb. Everything was provided for your needs. I was not short of anything and if there was anything I just had to ask and immediately I was very kindly helped and served. I was traveling alone as a woman and Ahmed and Faisal were always kind enough to pick me up or drop me off at the parking lot or different pickup places if I had an excursion planned. Breakfast (both on site and to take away) was also very well taken care of, everything you can think of was included (omelet, bread, toppings, pancakes,...) SUPER TASTY! A bottle of cold water was always given to me upon my return at the end of the day, and the pool and terrace were also always available for me to use. The riad is truly a hidden gem!
Cons: The riad is still quite a walk away from the center but you are minutes from a parking lot where you can take a cab for a few euros/dirhams to the center. There is a portable fan to combat the heat. When I visited Marrakech in September this was often not necessary or sufficient to cool down. In hot summer months, I don't know if this provides enough cooling in the room. The indoor garden does provide cooling against the heat.

Staff are excellent, very nice and did their best to give us the most relaxing experience. Riad was beautiful aswell. Room and bathroom were very nice and spacious. Providing a phone was a very nice touch also. Riad was also very helpful when it cames to booking activities, restaurants and transport.
Cons: We were told the area was very safe but it really didn't feel like it and there were some quite scary moments trying to find the Riad were people wouldn't leave us alone in threatening ways, we tried to call the riad for help but was often quite hard to get through to the staff. Being quite far from the centre we didn't feel that comfortable leaving the Riad to explore after that. It's a pretty unpleasant walk to the center in my opinion. Another thing is that its very hard to find an ATM anywhere there which is really annoying when almost everywhere wants cash. Would have loved to tip the staff throughout but had no money to do so. Also the AC was too far from the bed and not powerful enough for the size of the room so felt impossible to sleep in that heat, the small portable fan was useless. Wasn't very clear what food and drink was available, there was no menu for anything and seemed the staff were unconvinced also. The food itself was hard to judge was me and my partner both had food poisoning there, not to say it's the Riads fault. Would have been nice for more veggy options as all I ate everyday in morroco was vegetable tagine. Service was always fantastic though.

Attention to detail, extremely friendly staff. Quiet rooms, outstanding breakfast.
Cons: Unclear description on how to access the property. Distance from nearest parking - approx 5min walk - only 1 person available to help with bags. We had plenty of luggage. It’s not a cheap Riad and yet they charge for water which we weren’t aware of. Menu prices for food and beverages are very high.

The staff were extremely polite and helpful. We were made to feel very special. The breakfast was excellent. Transfer to and from the airport was great. A complementary phone was given to us to find our way to the Medina and back which proved invaluable. They also arranged a private tour to the Valley of Ourika for us. The riad had been recently refurbished beautifully. I would recommend this riad.
Cons: The riad isn't in the centre of the Medina which might not suit everyone.

Beautiful riad with rooms around a central courtyard. Lovely to look at and listen to the chirping birds and fountain. Also the roof terrace is a great place to eat, relax or spend your time. Staff were fantastic, providing exceptional service and support! I felt like a prince!
Cons: No issues to note I really liked the property.

Wow! After a dismal stay in a cheap hotel, I desperately needed an upgrade and Abbassia became one of the highlights of my trip. A beautiful interior to the riad, with all the traditional tiling, fireplaces, painted wood ceilings, fountains etc. And the service was exceptional. The manager, Faisal is amazing! Professional and attentive to every detail for comfort. I was given a room upgrade and a mobile phone to help find my way around! The breakfast and dinner were delicious and served in a beautiful setting. I can't imagine anywhere that is a more welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh.
