Great location north of the Medina, lovely property with responsive and helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious and light, served on the rooftop.

Cons: Our downstairs room was quite small (smaller than we expected) especially with a larger suitcase. Being next to the main courtyard it was also loud with guests sitting their on arrivals

Location, upper courtyard, roof terrace

Cons: Easily has potential to be a 10, but needs some serious attention to detail. Pool cloudy/unclean, rubbish left in shared toilet areas and staircase, upper roof terrace not been swept for a long time and wet seats in the morning which is understandable however had to be pointed out to breakfast staff who were baffled. All this is completely and easily fixable with some owner/senior staff attention to detail.

The Riad lounge on the ground floor was lovely, although the jets on the Jacuzzi did not work and the staff were disinterested in helping resolve.

Cons: The attitude of disinterest of staff was disappointing. We did not feel very welcomed. The reality did not match the photos. There were few staff and they seemed disorganised. The bathroom shower should have a curtain or a shower screen as the water just goes everywhere. None of the bedtime sockets were functional which we only discovered when our phones were virtually discharged when we got to the Airport to check in the next morning . This had obviously not been checked before the room was let out to us.

Small, refreshing pool, nice terrace to sunbath and relax. Breakfast on the terrace was nice too and the staff was flexible when we needed to leave earlier in the morning. Amazing location - pickup place for activities in 3 min walk, in the heart of the medina and surrounded by markets.

Cons: The walls are very thin - you heard EVERYTHING. We had cockroaches on the second day and told the staff about it - they were helpful and the cleaning lady used some spray or something against it. When we came back to the room and asked if the cockroach was gone, they assured us that everything was fine. We entered the room and found a cockroach in the middle of the bathroom, this time dead. We double-checked the whole room since then to make sure there were no cockroaches before we went to sleep. In the last night, we heard something falling done and turned on the lights again - it was another cockroach. We immediately told the staff, but nothing happened. Later we heard a crawling noise and found another cockroach - we insisted on getting another room. At first, this was not possible because the staff didn‘t know which rooms were free the next day but as we were about to leave to go to another riad, they gave us another room. We did not sleep a minute that night..

The Maison Chadia Boutique Hotel & Spa is the perfect destination to immerse yourself into the local culture. A very ideal location to explore the local souks, which are right on your doorstep. As a female I felt very safe and was comfortable at this hotel. They also supported me with taxi booking and recommendations for food and activities. The staff were extremely hospitable. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a beautiful authentic destination in the heart of the Medina of Marrakech.

Cons: I did not experience anything negative during my stay.

Really convenient location for first-time visitors — you're in the northern part of the medina where there are lots of artisans around, but it's not as hectic as the souks further down towards Jemaa el-Fnaa. Le Jardin Secret, Medersa Ben Youssef, Maison de la Photographie, and Musée du Parfum are all less than 10 minutes away by foot, which is great. Our main point of contact during the stay was Marwan, who was knowledgeable, friendly, and always on hand to share helpful tips about things to see and do. We also appreciated that he's incredibly attentive and would keep an eye out for us, especially in the first day or two when we were still finding our way around. Every staff member we interacted with was lovely and kind, especially Rashid, who may actually be a ray of sunshine in human form. In terms of amenities/facilities, the complimentary breakfast was a perfect way to start a full day of exploring Marrakech, and sunset on the roof was just perfect, although we sadly didn't make use of the plunge pool due to how busy we were. We both slept extremely well during the trip due to the great soundproofing and comfortable beds. Also as two self-confessed cat people, we loved trying to spot where Caesar the riad cat would be napping every day.

Cons: Heat control in the shower was a little temperamental but we got used to it in the end.

It was a lovely calm escape from the souks, the staff were lovely in the main. The place was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfy 😊

Cons: The apartment was a bit shabby and in need of refurbishment, the shower was hand-held as the fixing was broken and the floor was jagged and missing tiles. We had to wait quite a while at times for the door to be answered as there was no other way of getting in and out. The area is a bit rough compared with our previous apartment on the jemaa el fnaa square. Some of the staff could be a bit indifferent, breakfast serving guy was very surly at times, maybe he was not a morning person but he made asking for anything a bit awkward. Not the best value for money to be had in marrakech...

The Riad itself was beautiful and so peaceful, we spent much of the time in the courtyard outside our room reading by the pool. Marouane was very friendly and helpful from the get go in providing recommendations, directions and advice. The room was lovely and comfortable with a large bathroom. The breakfast was also excellent with a variety of breads. They were kind enough to pack our breakfast on the last day as we had to leave before breakfast opened...much appreciated!

Cons: The bathroom had a drainage smell which we were told apparently affects most of the riads in the north part of the Medina. They did provide drain covers that helped a bit. I would recommend to the owners to find a permanent solution to this, as we did stay in two other riads in the north of the Medina which didn't have this problem. However, Maison chafia was the most idyllic of the three riads we stayed in.

The rooftop terrace was beautiful. We enjoyed our breakfasts there but also came back to the riad to relax during the day on the sun loungers.

Cons: We were on the bottom floor so you could sometimes hear people if they were coming in but that’s no one’s fault at the riad. I’m just a light sleeper anyway.

Staff were fantastic. They couldn't do enough for you. Very helpful and really polite and welcoming. Place was clean. Breakfast was nice and plentiful. It is in the very north of the medina.

Cons: Nothing really. Just words of advice if anyone planning on staying in a riad. It really is a home from home so in the night you hear other guests coming and going so it can keep you awake, especially if they stay up chatting in communal areas. I suspect this is the same in any riad.

It’s a clean riad, with daily room cleaning and good location to visit by foot Marrakesch. Great view at breakfast from rooftop

Cons: We were traveling in february and in the night were 6 Celsius degrees and the AC in the rooms wasn’t working properly (our room and our friends room) and we stay in cold. Recomand to buy some heaters for the room if they know having problem with the AC. Hihh prices for taxi and excursions

Its nice and clean the staff are very helpful and friendly

Cons: The noise you get from the rooms above you and from the terrace above when people going to have breakfast early morning Im very sensitive to noise and i thought im gonna get some good sleep in this riad but its was nightmare for me I didn't enjoy my holiday because I was not able to sleep properly I paid nearly ÂŁ500 for five night. I just wanted to stay in somewhere quiet and peaceful, but it was not worth of the money because it is not quiet. and the breakfast is literally next to nothing one single egg one orange juice. tea or coffee if you want one, I'll literally one or two slices of bread. under the swimming pool is freezing cold and they saying is heated swimming pool which is not I was not happy with the city charge the rate they give me euro to Durham was way more expensive than outside.

Maison Chafia Boutique Hotel & Spa Small quiet traditional Riad well located inside Medina close to Secret Garden. The Riad has a Beautiful Terrasse where nice freshly made breakfast is served. The Riad also has a hammam, an experience not to be missed. The staff are always ready to help. No need to book tours ahead, the riad will arrange them for you. Taxi drop Off a few steps away at College Mohamed V where you will also find an ATM. We visited in winter off season end of November which was ideal. The weather was perfect up to 28 degrees but cooler at night. We spent all our money shopping in the Medina. :-)

When you get out of the taxi you walk a little way into the souk where you are transported to another world. The Riad sits right in the middle of hussle and bussle of the souk in its timeless appearance with only the buzz of the motorbikes stopping the illusion that you have been transported back in time. The Raid itself is warm and welcoming with the excelant staff so friendly and helpful. The traditional morrocan breakfast was such as nice touch with so much variety. The person who made our stay so good was Marouan, his advice on where to visit and eat was the making of the holiday. His recommendation for the first night was Dar Essalam with excellent food and morrocan entertainment. As with everything in Marrakesh the restaurant was timeless, Humphery Bogart and Lauren Bacall would of not looked out of place dinning there a wonderful experience.

Cons: The initial shock of leaving the taxi at the side of the road and walking through the narrow alleyways of the souk is a little overwhelming but once with the help of the team you were comfortable and feeling so safe in these unfamiliar soundings.

The riad is well located (20min. walk from jardin majorelle) and on the outskirts of the medina. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help.

Cons: Unfortunately, and despite great efforts on the design and atmosphere, the room and the riad in general weren’t always clean enough. With a little extra effort on the cleanliness (dust under the bed, dusty rugs, suspensions and the floor, dirty outdoor cushions, etc) and general maintenance, this riad could really be great. Furthermore, it would be good if we could pay taxes and extras by card instead of cash.

Youseff made us feel right at home even when we arrived close to midnight and had a stressful day travelling with our first experience in Morocco. The Riad was hard to find at first, however, right at the start of the Souks market so great walking distance to the markets and the new town.

The Riad is located in the medina, with the souks only a few minutes away. The location and the accommodation was great and as depicted on the website. The riad has an amazing inner yard and a splendid roof top where we ate our breakfast. We could see the Atlas mountains from there, the Koutoubi mosque etc. The hammam and massage were great as well; next time we will try a public hammam. What made our stay even more amazing, was the friendly staff who went beyond the extra mile for us. We would really say our gratitude to Youssef, Rachid, Anwar and the cleaning staff. The owner Delphine provided us with handy necessary upon our arrival. As is common in Marrakech, we tipped the staff as they made us feel so welcome in the Riad. We hope the the tip is shared among all of them, as was promised by the owner. Looking forward to come back!

I liked the service, Yousef helped me when I arrived and he helped us making some reservations but… We paid for one of the most expensive rooms (my wife and I were planning to celebrate our anniversary) but the SMELL was SO BAD! I couldn’t sleep well so I needed to sleep on the floor basically because the smell came near the bed. I mentioned this to the people that work there but they just said, I know I know. I was planning to have a relaxing weekend but definitely I couldn't. You need to know that if you choose the blue expensive room (the one I stayed) you will hear all the NOISE form the rooftop (which is over the room) you will head the people on the kitchen because is in front of the room too, so don't pay for something that is not worth it.

Cons: The smell in my room, the blue one is super strong, you feel that you are breathing that smell! Don't overpay for something that you will regret

All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They were quick to help when we had any problems. The breakfasts were good and it was nice to have them on the roof terrace. The location was good and it was fairly quiet. We were cold the first night and staff arranged an extra duvet as quickly as they could the next day after asking the owner for permission.

Cons: The room was very disappointing. We booked a suite, as we needed a treat. It was very small and badly appointed. The staff did offer to change to another room the next day but that would be even smaller and probably as badly finished. The bed was on a high raised platform. Getting into bed was difficult, for both of us, and the risk of falling down the very high step during the night was real. Also the bed itself was squeezed between the walls with no space to get in or out! This room is NOT for people with any mobility problems. The bathroom was badly appointed and the shower leaked into the room during use. The tiled shower floor was slippery when wet, and dangerous. These problems could not be solved by the staff, the room needs to be refitted properly.

Really lovely Riad in a very good location. The best thing about this Riad is the staff which has been mentioned in previous reviews on booking.com. I had a massage and black soap ritual and it was super nice and relaxing. The location is really ideal as well. Walking distance from all the major placestouristuc areas. Only small downside : this is an old building so insulation-wise it's not perfect. But honestly, it's really not that bad.

The location was the best part. The main square in Marrakech, the Jemaa el-Fnaa, is full of aggressive vendors and beggars, whereas this hotel is in an area that felt safe to us; the people were friendly, and all the restaurants nearby were amazing and inexpensive. The staff were all nice and will help you plan your trip, recommend restaurants, and book guides. We didn't use them, but the prices seemed reasonable. They all speak English the same as most people in the city. We had a great experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere that is very evident when you arrive at the riad. The decor is beautiful and it is laid out across 5 floors which offers plenty of space to unwind. The staff were very attentive and Youssef made sure that every part of our stay was enjoyable, from booking taxis to dinner reservations to just generally taking an interest in what we were up to on a given day.

Cons: - Hard to find initially, could do with some directions from the Riad from where the taxis drop you off (Riad Laarous). - When making requests i.e more towels, this usually took longer than expected - When we smashed one of our own perfume bottles in the room, there was no concern to help clean this up. We were handed a brush an hour later and cleaned it up ourselves. - The rooftop could possibly do with some lighting

-Riad is very well placed -Room was very nicely set out and clean -Youssef did an amazing job with the rose petal service, i ordered for my bf’s bday. -Staff were really nice. The top two floors of the Riad are amazing, beautifully designed and nice views.

Cons: -Cleanliness as a whole was not very good of the shared areas. -The pool wasnt cleaned once whilst we were there, i did ask for the jets to be turned on, as there were so many dead bugs in the water along with hair and a film of suncream on top, but this never happened, by the end or our stay the water was so dirty we didn’t even dip our feet in. - there was a piece of litter on the stairway which never got picked up the whole time we was there. -not as much atmosphere, walls are very thin, so could hear other guests. Music in the courtyard playing would have been appreciated -asked for an iron on the first day, asked again on the second day, finally got it on our third day -This riad has a lot of potential if it pays attention to the finer details

The property was lovely! Our room was great and we loved the traditional Moroccan decoration. The staff were incredible (especially Youssef!), and I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Location great too. Close enough to the big square to be a short walk away, but far enough away to escape the chaos when needed!

Cons: Nothing - we had a great stay.

I’ve travelled around the world and this was by far the best experience I had. Everything was perfect, the location, the food, cleanliness, but the best part was the staff. They made me feel welcome and at home, specially Youssef, he went above and beyond to assist me, helping with restaurant reservations, booking guides, drivers and so far. The owner also came over to check on the guests, and we had such a pleasant conversation. I strongly recommend this hotel. It was a memorable experience. I missed everyone already!

The beds were the most comfortable we slept in our entire time in Morocco! The staff (esp Youssef) were kind, helpful, and accommodating. The riad itself is beautiful and exactly like the pictures. Yummy breakfast. Location was great too, far enough off the souks to be quiet, but only about a 10-15 minute walk to the main square/anything else you want to do. We loved our stay here!

Cons: Nothing, it was a great stay!

We loved absolutely everything! The staff (especially Youssef) were exceptional, so attentive and welcoming. The riad itself is beautiful and a lovely quiet break from the hustle and bustle of the Medina. It is within the Medina but in a convenient spot that feels a bit more quiet (so peaceful at night). The staff checked in on us daily and were so helpful in booking restaurants and tours. Youssef was particularly helpful and warm.. truly making it a magical experience for us. We would absolutely return to Riad Chafia and recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakech.

Cons: We loved it all!

The staff was exceptional. They were willing to provide assistance, guidance about the culture and recommendations on things to do in the city. My husband and I were celebrating our 1st anniversary and the lack of having a TV in the room helped us connect more. Sipping tea on the rooftop was so comfortable and relaxing.

Cons: The air conditioning was not working at full power. The air filter was cleaned the next day and the room did cool down a bit.

The perfect riad for your Marrakech stay. Centrally located, secure, in a quiet street, easy to find. I loved my stay at Riad Chafia and wish I had another night or two to stay. The room was charming, the bathroom spacious, with stylish decor throughout the riad. Delicious breakfast, kind and helpful people. Best thing was the rooftop terrace where you can catch the night breezes, listen to the distant sounds of the city, and enjoy a sunset/moonset/sunrise. Rachid, Marwan, Youssef - thank you for your kind hospitality and for going out of your way to make me feel as comfortable as possible. Shukran, I will return!

The staff were absolutely amazing! Super friendly and helpful. They provided multiple ideas and suggestions as to where to go, what to see, and where to eat. 10 out of 10 for sure. Location of the Riad was also spot on, exactly in the centre of the Medina, which made going around Marrakech easy, and all sightings were a walking distance from it. In case you wanted to eat or drink anything extra besides breakfast, you could easily ask for something to be prepared for you from the menu. A massive shout out to Mr. Marwan, Youssef, and Rashid, for all the help! 🙂

Cons: A slight remark would be that breakfasts were all the same each day (though really tasty!). It is ok for a short period of time, but it would be good to introduce some optionality/ variety.

The place and the aura is cool. Room was nice, the staff is so helpfull and polite we like them.

Cons: The location is so close the center and you can walk max 10 min walking to get what you want however the riad’s street is a bit incommodate/unsecure due to some guys around, they molested us with verbally. And this happen twice. We did not stay there our second night and changed the city. Because Marrakech is not a place suitable for tourists. Definitely consider this. You will not be enjoying the this beautiful city just because of this sticky people. Sorry about them. They sabotage their country and tourism.

Breakfast was horrible. So congested and tiny place. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

The Riad was stunning & is a cute little place to stay with friends/family! The terrace had lovely views & wish we spent a lot more time up there. It’s located in the centre of medina with 5-10 minute walking distances to all the hotspots E.g Jemaa El Fena, Le Secret Garden etc. Breakfast was very lovely. Felt so welcomed by everyone there especially by Youseff, Marouan, Rashid & Fatima who went out of their way to accommodate us at all times. You really are the heart of the place.

Cons: I have no faults for the Riad & all the staff. Wish we stayed a few extra days.

Nice welcome with peppermint tea. English speaking staff. The breakfast was absolutely ideal, and very traditional. Breads, pancakes, jams, omelettes, fresh fruit, fresh juice, coffee. Couldn't ask for more, and presented and served well. Very attentive staff who went out of their way to make you comfortable and at home. Loved the sun terrace, a very peaceful place to spend the evening watching the stars and Moroccan horizon.

Cons: All that could have been better is if it was free!!! and I didn't have to leave. Very good value for money, can't fault it. If you are looking for an exceptional and traditional Moroccan experience, this is for you.

Fantastic Riad. The staff were incredible, friendly and really accommodating; really nice and ready to help. The Riad itself was very beautiful and we had the best room which was the rooftop. The view on the rooftop was peaceful; it was nice to sit there day or night! Youssef and the team were honestly the best hosts you could ask for. My Husband and I loved it. Also the air conditioning was a life saver after a day-out!

Cons: I think for summertime it would be nice to add some parasol umbrella's by the sunbeds on the rooftop! The overall scent of the medina sometimes came through to our room. But that is more of a downfall of the Medina rather than the Riad itself.

During our visit to Morocco, we had the pleasure of staying at Riad Chafia for 2 nights. This traditional Moroccan Riad is conveniently situated in the north of the Medina, a few minutes away from a taxi parking space and within walking distance of many of Marrakech's major attractions, including the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square and the vibrant souks, as well as several excellent restaurants. It is a perfect choice for anyone seeking an authentic stay in Marrakech. We were greeted with warm hospitality as we entered a tiny door down a small alleyway and entered a beautiful courtyard. The rooms are elegantly decorated, combining traditional Moroccan elements with modern comfort. Ours was spacious and the comfortable bed and the AC ensured a good night's sleep. Its rooftop terrace offers panoramic views of Marrakech's bustling medina and the Atlas Mountains in the distance during breakfast. One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. Youssef, Rachid and the team at Riad Chafia went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They even kept an item we forgot in storage for several days until we returned to Marrakech to pick it up!

The highlight of the property were its staff, absolutely incredible. Rachid, Youssef, Marouan, and Fatima all went out of their way to accommodate every single request we had. Riad Chafia was a wonderful discovery that made our stay even more unique. Located in the heart of the Medina, this Riad allows you to enter the Moroccan culture with its delicious breakfasts, its decoration with attention to the smallest details and above all to get to know the pleasant local people. The added value of this structure, however, is the staff, always smiling and available for any need. A note of credit goes to Youssef who has always made himself available for any of our needs and problems, suggesting some incredible places to visit that otherwise we would not have been able to visit. We highly recommend staying at this Riad.

Breakfast included was simple and delicious - egg, Moroccan bread and pastries, fruit, yogurt, mint tea and coffee. Air conditioning, fresh towels, hot water, electricity, location in the medina, airport transfer, restaurants, all great. Cannot say enough good things about it.

Everything from the location to the friendliness of the staff well exceeded my expectations. I booked last minute and I was able to get in touch with the hotel owner about room details and late check in. The hotel also has a transportation option from the airport (RAK) to the Riad directly (so that you don’t have to ever feel unsafe during your journey). The Riad is centrally located within the medina and is easily accessible to Marrakech’s popular souks, Jemaa el-Fna Square and as well as other popular attractions. Overall, the location is superb. There even is a sign that says “Riad Chafia” a few blocks down that helps direct you to the Riad in case you do get lost. The Riad itself is very clean and mornings were always beautiful since breakfast is served on the terrace. However, the best thing about my stay was the hospitality of the staff. Youssef was helpful from the very beginning of check-in to the last day of checkout. He was very friendly and gave us many suggestions and advice on making the best out of our trip. He always made sure we were comfortable and always made us feel safe (especially since it was our first time in Africa!) Thank you again Youssef for your unconditional kindness and fabulous service!

Cons: I actually loved everything about my stay. Always felt comfortable and safe which are my two priorities when it comes to accommodation.

We‘ve been staying at Riad Chafia for four days and it has been absolutely delightful. Not only did it look very pretty and inviting, but it was also very clean and hygienic. The rooms were very nice and the common room was such a comfortable space. We had breakfast on the rooftop everyday, which not only had a great view but also the food was very good. Furthermore, the personnel was always polite and really took good care of us. We especially appreciate the work of the night watchman Yousseff, who really helped us with planning things and recommendations. Beautiful Riad, friendly staff and generous breakfast. Great location, on a quiet street but still close to everything.

The Riad is really good, with great style, the room was clean and the staff is very kind and helpful. They let us have dinner even though it was late (and we rrslly suggest it! It was so good) and they made us a very quick breakfast because we left very early. I would really recommand the Riad, it was perfect.

Cons: The toilet has no door so there is no privacy with the room. I know this is local, the room was amazing, but if you need more privacy, keep it in mind.

We totally loved the originality of this Riad but mostly the staff especially Mohammed who really was amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Expertly managed by French owner Delphine who went out of her way to cater for my Coeliac disorder by personally baking gf banana bread for my breakfasts. Outstanding ! We shall definitely be back. thank you all ..

Cons: We liked everything

Not only was the Riad beautiful and the breakfast amazing. But also Mohammed took very good care of us all around the clock. He gave us great tips on what to see in the city and we were able to learn a lot about the moroccan culture thanks to him.

The Riad is very authentic, cosy and clean. The location is conveniet and close to the key amenities. The personnel is very professional and do go extra mile for the client. We had several early morning trips, and Mohamed was very kind and packed us take away breakfasts to enjoy whilst on the bus.

Cons: Nothing

I have traveled for years, to many countries. This riad offered me one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The location seems a little confusing until you realize many of the riads are situated on the long maze-like paths. After a couple of hours, I knew my way around the entire neighborhood! The facilities were impeccable, spotless, spacious, great A/C, beautiful atmosphere, & great breakfast. I felt like royalty. And the staff!!! Each one of them (including the owner herself—WOW!) went out of their way to assist me with everything from restaurant suggestions, to navigating the area by foot, to getting a cab when I checked out at an unusual time (3:30am—bc of my flight). I was so pleased I booked here & so sad to leave. It felt like I was staying with family & this simply topped off my experience in Morocco. I would stay here again & again & again!

Cons: I didn’t like that I had to leave. LOL

The staff were so helpful, it was great to be able to arrange tours and other activities right at the hotel. Full of useful info about best restaurants as well. The rooftop terrace was amazing for sunset and a great place to relax in the evenings. Breakfast was always delicious, we loved the service and our room was so comfortable and clean.

Cons: Absolutely nothing! The only tip would be, it would be great if there were some parasols on the room terrace next to the sunbeds as the sun is really hot and the only shade is downstairs.

The whole riad, rooms, patio and terrace are beautiful! Nice pool, cozy to hang around, nice and clean bathrooms, strong wifi. The staff was very attentive and helpful, we simply loved our stay. Thank you!

Cons: The only low is the entrance, which is a bit smelly cause you are entering through a "tunnel" full of cats and would not expect such a paradise behind those doors.
