La gentillesse du personnel et leur accueil. Toujours un service parfait, une réponse à nos besoins. Petits déjeuners servis plus tôt ou à emporter lorsque nous allions en plus excursions tôt. Repas du soir parfait à notre demande. Le prêt du téléphone pour ne pas se perdre ds la ville , super ! La navette même très tôt pour l'aéroport. Le riad est magnifique, une authenticité, un calme incroyable, la literie parfaite, linge de maison, bouilloire avec café et thé. Un vrai service !! Des petits endroits dans le patio pour se reposer, magnifique même un séjour sous la pluie a été mémorable. Riad dans la médina très bien placée, on a fait tout à pied . Je recommande vivement ce riad pour passer un magnifique séjour à Marrakech. Nous reviendrons à cet endroit lors de notre prochain séjour !! Les excursions c'est super, le mini bus nous récupère à qques mètres du riad. Merci encore .

Our stay was amazing and exceeded our expectations. The location is convenient to the medina and the sites around the city. The staff was welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure that we were well taken care of - from arranging taxis to a dinner in our room. The Riad itself is beautiful and well kept and the rooms are clean. Breakfast on the roof was something to look forward to each morning. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and hope to return to Marrakech soon.
Cons: Not enough time! We could have easily stayed another night or two.

Wunderschönes kleines Riad (5 Zimmer). Herausragend ist die Freundlichkeit des Personals. Flexibles Frühstück von 8:00 - bis immer Du möchtest, Tee mit Gebäck wenn Du wieder im Riad ankommst, Tourenvorschläge, Reservierungen, Geschichten über Land und Leute etc. Zur Orientierung in Marakesch gibt es ein Hotel Handy.

Overall, I had a wonderful stay at the riad: the breakfast was abundant and delicious, the property felt spotless, calm, and well cared for, and the staff were exceptionally attentive, kind, and genuinely hospitable—often going above and beyond, The complimentary phone with data and smooth airport/door transfers were thoughtful touches that made everything stress-free, and I would gladly stay here again and recommend it, especially for a stay near the souk.

Everything was perfect - the staff went out of their way to ensure we had an incredible time, including helping us get stamps to mail postcards internationally, and finding us a driver to a party 45 minutes out of the city. Truly can't imagine a more helpful, pleasant stay.

Unsere Übernachtung im Riad Dar Saouia vom 26. bis 27. März war eine wunderschöne und besondere Erfahrung, die wir sehr positiv in Erinnerung behalten werden. Schon beim Ankommen fällt auf, wie wunderschön und traditionell dieses Riad gestaltet ist. Der kleine Pool, der liebevoll angelegte Innengarten und die gemütliche Dachterrasse schaffen eine ruhige, authentische Atmosphäre mitten in der lebendigen Stadt Marrakesch. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das Essen. Wir haben am Abend die Tajine des Tages auf der Dachterrasse bestellt und können mit voller Überzeugung sagen, dass es die beste Tajine war, die wir während unseres gesamten sechstägigen Aufenthalts in Marrakesch gegessen haben. Auch das Frühstück war sehr gut, traditionell und liebevoll zubereitet. Das absolute Herzstück dieses Riads sind jedoch die Menschen. Das gesamte Team ist außergewöhnlich freundlich, herzlich und hilfsbereit, eine Gastfreundschaft, die man nicht überall findet. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns ein Erlebnis am Tag unserer Ankunft. Nach dem Check-in hatten wir direkt einen Termin im Jardin Majorelle und gleichzeitig einen Termin um unseren Mietwagen abzugeben, unglücklicherweise hatten wir versehentlich die Fahrzeugpapiere im Riad liegen lassen. In unserer Not kontaktierten wir den Mitarbeiter Mustapha. Mit unserer Genehmigung ging er per Videocall mit uns in unser Zimmer, fand die Papiere und machte sich sofort auf den Weg. Eine Strecke, die normalerweise etwa 15 Minuten dauert, legte er in nur sechs Minuten zurück und brachte uns die Unterlagen direkt vorbei. Damit hat er uns wirklich den Tag gerettet. Solche Gesten sind absolut außergewöhnlich und verdienen höchste Anerkennung. Wir möchten uns noch einmal ganz herzlich bedanken, insbesondere bei Mustapha, aber auch beim gesamten Team, das durchgehend so herzlich war. Die Umgebung rund um das Riad mag für westliche Reisende zunächst etwas ungewohnt sein. Doch das ist keinesfalls ein negativer Punkt.

Este Riad, además de ser hermoso y contar con zonas comunes para descanso muy apetecibles, ofrece ventajas nada fáciles de encontrar: nos recogieron y devolvieron al aeropuerto en coche, nos ofrecieron té y pastas a la llegada, nos dejaron un móvil para usar estos días, después de todo el día caminando un masajito en el Riad, baño en su piscina, cena deliciosa en el hotel, desayuno buenísimo y abundante y la guinda del pastel, el personal que te atiende no puede ser más atento, simpático y amable. Estuvieron siempre pendientes de nosotros y resolvieron dudas, por lo que les estamos muy agradecidos. Definitivamente, han mejorado muchísimo nuestra experiencia en Marrakech. Totalmente recomendable.

Most helpfull staff. One day it was raining a lot, Soufian called us that he will arrange a ride back to the riad. There was one specific Moroccoan dish we wanted to try and couldnt find it anywhere - they arranged the food for us with no extra cost. Most hospitable people we have met in +40 countries.

Des moments fabuleux dans ce riad situé au cœur de la médina, une très belle décoration, un cadre magnifique et dépaysant. C’était la première fois au Maroc. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis comme nous ne l’avions jamais été ailleurs. Tout au long du séjour, le personnel a été aux petits soins, avec une attention exceptionnelle et constante. Ils ont été d’une gentillesse et d’un professionnalisme remarquables. Un grand merci également pour les repas improvisés à notre demande : des plats typiques, généreux et délicieux, qui ont largement contribué à la magie du séjour. Nous y sommes allés avec notre petit garçon de 2 ans, qui a été accueilli comme un véritable petit prince, une attention qui nous a beaucoup touchés. Nino est reparti avec des étoiles dans les yeux. Un immense merci à Mustapha, Hamza, Soufiane ainsi qu’à toute l’équipe pour cette magnifique immersion. Nous y reviendrons sans hésiter et seront très heureux de pouvoir les trouver ❤️

We hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf in Riad Diar Zaouia. De rust die hier heerst is werkelijk bijzonder – een echte oase weg van de drukte. De riad is prachtig ingericht, met veel oog voor detail en een stijlvolle, authentieke sfeer. Alles was bovendien zeer proper en goed onderhouden. Wat ons verblijf echt onvergetelijk maakte, was het personeel: stuk voor stuk ongelooflijk vriendelijk, warm en behulpzaam. Je voelt je hier meteen welkom. De locatie is misschien niet de meest centrale, maar dat is tegelijkertijd net de charme. Het zorgt voor extra rust en een meer lokale, authentieke ervaring. Een absolute aanrader voor wie op zoek is naar een rustige en sfeervolle plek in Marrakech.

We loved our stay in Riad Dar Zaouia. The property is a traditional riad, with all guest rooms arranged around a small courtyard and a warm plunge pool, which was a lovely place to relax after a day of exploring. It was our first time in Marrakesh and, at the beginning, we were a little overwhelmed by the energy of the city and the labyrinth of the souks within the Medina. This was made much easier by the loan of a smartphone with Google Maps, which meant we always had our bearings, even if we did still manage to get lost more than once, although this is part of the experience of this fascinating city. We spent five days in Marrakesh and felt we made the most of our time, visiting lots of the main sights as well as some smaller gems (particularly restaurants) recommended by the team. Many thanks too for the recommendation of the traditional hammam at Nilo, just a short walk away, it was a unique and special experience and a real highlight of our stay. At the end of each day, it was a pleasure just to return to the calm and quiet of the riad and reflect on all that happened during the day over a pot of mint tea (expertly poured!). We slept very well and enjoyed the breakfasts each morning served with grace and smiles on the lovely rooftop terrace, along with a couple of evening meals (superb chicken, lemon and olive tagine - mmmmm!), which were also excellent. I would especially like to mention the staff. We are very grateful for their care, attention, and genuine interest in helping us make the most of our stay. Their advice was thoughtful and practical, and always offered with warmth. This has been mentioned in other reviews, but it is worth repeating. They are truly lovely people, and it is this human connection that made our stay feel so special. Many thanks to Soufiane and the team. We really appreciated your kindness, your time, and the easy, welcoming way you look after all your guests. Thank you.

Un séjour absolument merveilleux dans ce riad d’exception ! Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été touchés par l’extrême gentillesse et la disponibilité du personnel, toujours aux petits soins et avec le sourire. Un accueil chaleureux qui fait toute la différence et qui se ressent tout au long du séjour. Le riad est tout simplement somptueux : des chambres magnifiques, décorées avec goût, offrant un cadre à la fois authentique et confortable. Chaque détail est pensé pour que l’on s’y sente bien. Le petit-déjeuner est un véritable régal, copieux, varié et préparé avec soin — un moment que nous attendions chaque matin avec impatience ! Idéalement situé au cœur de la médina de Marrakech, à seulement 20 minutes à pied de la place Jemaa el-Fna et de ses souks, ce riad permet une immersion totale dans la vie marocaine. Flâner dans les ruelles, découvrir les traditions locales… une expérience unique et dépaysante. Un immense merci à toute l’équipe pour ces moments inoubliables. Riad con mucho encanto y bien cuidado situado dentro de la medina pero en una zona nada turística, a 20 minutos andando del centro. Para nosotros esto no fue un inconveniente, era más auténtico. A destacar la extrema amabilidad del personal del Riad. Nos trataron muy muy bien y estuvieron muy pendientes de nosotros. Además nos recogieron en el aeropuerto y nos dejaron un teléfono al que pudimos conectar nuestros móviles. Para nosotros esto fue un plus. También destacar el desayuno, muy bueno y abundante. Acerca de la habitación la cama era muy cómoda.
Cons: Hay dos cosas que no nos gustaron. La primera es que no arreglaron la habitación. Nos dijeron que no lo habían hecho porque nos llevamos y la llave. Esa respuesta no nos convenció, todos los hoteles tienen llaves maestras. La segunda es que el baño olía mal debido a los sumideros

Honestly the best we've been looked after anywhere! The warmest of welcomes - we went from the airport to a delicious welcome tea and biscuits. Then shown to our impressive and comfortable room. It was such a tranquil space away from the hustle and bustle of marrakech. Throughout our stay they could not have been more helpful. They arranged an amazing cake for my wife's birthday and sang her happy birthday free of charge! On top of this they: - Gave us a phone to help us to navigate the winding streets - Booked us taxis to and from the hotel - Delivered a varied and delicious breakfast every morning from yoghurt, pastries, fresh fruit,, omelette, tea, coffee. Brilliant and I miss it! - Served genuinely the best Tagine I had whilst in Marrakech for dinner - Had a brilliant relaxing pool - Included an amazing massage - it looks like they're building a hammam too which I think will be great - We had teas delivered to our room, dropped by the poolside and more - Printed out our boarding pass for us at the end of the trip Honestly don't hesitate to book here, you won't regret it.
Cons: It took a day or two to get used to navigating back through the bustling streets. We loved coming back here after long days but some may find it an adjustment Vs a standard holiday hotel.

From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. The place was spotless, calm, and really well taken care of. You can tell they truly care about their guests. What stood out most was how helpful they were. They arranged a shuttle that dropped us right at the door and also took us back to the airport. Everything was smooth and stress free. They even provided a phone with data so we could stay connected. That level of service is rare. The riat was very clean and truly guest focused. We would absolutely stay here again if we return to Marrakech.

Taxi to and from airport, mobile phone for directions and constant contact as needed included - a real bonus. Beautifully restored building retaining character. Comfortable rooms, good quality bed linen. At edge of medina so quiet but safe area. Loved the roof terrace.

Breakfast OK, too reliant on bread to fill you up, dinner very good. While the Riad is great in its cleanliness, comfort, amenities etc... what really makes this place a stand out are the staff. The three guys and one lady we interacted with were the absolute best, they would go out of their way to make your stay unforgettable from an experience perspective but also their down to earth advice and recommendations. Not the Riad itself, but it's location: 15-20mins walk from the main action, but for us that was a positive being in a quieter residential area. Initially you may think the local backstreets where this Riad is presents some personal security issues, but we found the complete opposite. In our walks from the centre to the Riad we felt more safe than anywhere else we've been - and we're very well travelled. 10/10 staff.
Cons: Breakfast OK but could do with more fresh fruit. Don't forget this isn't western with cereals etc... but what they do is good.

Wunderschönes Riad, bequeme Betten, sehr gute Dusche, Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse - ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen! Als eines der wenigen Riads bietet Dar Zaouia den Luxus eines beheizten Innenpools (30 Grad)! Dazu die Organisation eines kostenlosen Transports vom / zum Bahnhof am An- und Abreisetag und ein Handy während des Aufenthaltes. Das durchdachte Konzept und die Hilfsbereitschaft und Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter zeigen, dass es hier wirklich darum geht, die Gäste zu verwöhnen. Das Riad liegt ein wenig abseits des Souks, aber genau diesen kleinen Einblick in den Alltag haben wir besonders genossen: In der Straße spielen die Kinder abends Fußball, die Frauen kaufen Brot beim Bäcker ums Eck, die Menschen kennen sich untereinander, es ist ruhig und entspannt.

- L'incroyable gentillesse et la disponibilité du staff. Tout est pensé pour que votre séjour soit une parenthèse enchantée sans la moindre préoccupation. C’est la première fois que nous sommes reçu avec tant de chaleur et de sympathie. A chaque question on vous répond positivement et avec le sourire : que ça soit pour dîner au riad au dernier moment (repas délicieux!), pour des informations sur la ville, pour commander un taxi, et même... pour nous acheter un coupe ongle que nous avions oublié de prendre. Mustafa, Sofian, Hamza : vous êtes incroyables. Merci d’avoir rendu ce week-end inoubliable. Merci également à Aziz, un homme au grand coeur. - Le lieux : typique, authentique, propre. Les chambres sont spacieuses et décorées avec goût. Le riad est magnifique.

La chambre était très belle et fonctionnelle. L’emplacement était idéal - proche des souks et des endroits à visiter. Soufiane et Hafsa ont été aux petits soins pour nous. Serviable, sympathique et toujours avec le sourire. La cuisine le soir était excellente, nous y avons mangé la meilleure tajine poulet aux citrons! Un Riad que nous recommandons.

Incredible staff!! Very helpful and welcoming. I had an early morning flight out, and to my surprise the only person on staff at that hour was so kind he made me breakfast and had coffee and tea ready. That was above and beyond expectations.

Nous avons apprécié la gentillesse et la disponibilité du personnel. Le petit-déjeuner était très copieux. La chambre très belle et bien équipée ,mais la literie trop dure ! La mise à disposition du téléphone portable est très appréciable car impossible de se retrouver dans le dédales de rue de la Médina. Le quartier est très ancien. Merci a toute l'équipe et au plaisir !

The staff is wonderful and goes out of their way to provide for a great stay. The breakfast was very good, they provided a cell phone with access to them at all times and acted as a personal concierge for whatever we needed.
Cons: Water drainage was a little slow and hot water sometimes ran out ( need to shower quickly).

We had the most wonderful stay at Riad Zaouia. The riad itself is beautiful, very comfortable, with delicious meals. It's close but not too close to all of the Marrakech attractions, but the highlight is the care and attention you receive from the staff - Mustafa, Sufian and Humza made our stay special. Their genuine kindness and care for their guests will stay with us as one of our favorite memories of Marrakech!

Nous avons tout aimé…. Mais surtout l’accueil est exceptionnel, Hamza, Soufiane et Mustapha sont présents pour vous satisfaire et toujours avec humilité et discrétion. Ce très beau Riad est placé dans le quartier Zaouia populaire qui vous plonge parmi les habitants de Marrakech, très calme la nuit. Petit déjeuner parfait, nous avons dîné d’un fabuleux couscous royal préparé par Hamza. Le téléphone prêté pendant tout le séjour est d’une grande aide pour explorer la médina en partage de connexion. Le transfert aller retour aéroport est aussi appréciable.

We stayed at this Riad for 4 nights and it really was one of the highlights of our trip to Marrakech. The property is beautiful, authentic and comfortable. However, it was the staff who made all the difference. They were beyond welcoming and simply could not do enough for us, all in an effort to give us a memorable holiday. And what struck us most was the genuine pride they seemed to take in this. From the airport transport to the mobile phone provided, they really had thought of everything. We ate breakfast there every day and also had dinner on a number of nights. The food was delicious and carefully prepared. They even managed to cater for my gluten free needs! We would not hesitate to stay here again and would encourage anyone to do the same.
Cons: The Riad is in the Medina approx 15 minutes walk from the main square. This was no problem for us and we liked the fact that it was in a slightly quieter area. However, may be a consideration for some.

Dès notre arrivée à Marrakech, le chauffeur de la navette du Riad nous attendait à la sortie de l’aéroport. Ce premier service inclus donne immédiatement le ton : aucun stress, aucune négociation, tout est simple et rassurant. Le trajet nous plonge dans les petites rues de la médina. Le quartier, très populaire, nous impressionne au départ et nous met légèrement mal à l’aise. Un doute au moment de l’arrêt… vite dissipé par l’accueil exceptionnel d’un membre du personnel. Dès l’entrée dans le Riad, toutes nos craintes s’envolent : le lieu est magnifique, paisible, d’une propreté irréprochable, un véritable cocon hors du temps. Nous sommes accueillis avec un thé délicieux, recevons un téléphone prêté pour tout le séjour — une attention rare — et profitons d’explications claires et bienveillantes. La visite révèle de belles surprises : 30 massages inclus quand nous le voulons, et même un petit atelier cuisine improvisé avec le chef autour des briouates, un moment simple et authentique. La chambre est parfaite, le calme absolu grâce aux cinq chambres seulement. Les petits-déjeuners, servis sur le rooftop, sont excellents, faits maison avec des produits locaux. Les repas du soir (couscous et tajine) furent tout simplement les meilleurs de notre séjour à Marrakech. La gentillesse, la disponibilité et l’attention permanente du personnel, jusque dans nos déplacements à l’extérieur, rendent l’expérience profondément humaine et magique. Navette retour incluse, sérénité totale jusqu’au bout. Quant au quartier, qui nous avait semblé austère à l’arrivée, il s’est révélé être une vraie richesse : une immersion sincère dans la vie de la médina, sans aucun problème de sécurité. Nous recommandons ce Riad les yeux fermés. Une expérience inoubliable, humaine et authentique.

The hilight of this place is the amazingly helpful staff who are so kind and make you feel so welcome, and provide many helpful tips. Having a phone for directions is also really helpful. Our room was great and the meals (breakfasts and dinners) we had at the Riad were all superb and some of the best food we had in our stay in Morocco.

L'accueil d'Aziz et de toute son équipe. Toujours à l'écoute . Un coucous bien meilleur que dans les restaurants. Le Riad est situé dans un quartier populaire, près des souks. Ce qui permet de voir l'activité artisanale au quotidien et de tout faire à pied . Les + ,nous sommes pris en charge dès la sortie de l'aéroport, et idem pour le retour. L'idée de nous confier un téléphone, pour gérer nos déplacements est top . Bravo à toute l'équipe et merci encore pour cette belle semaine. Eric et Marylène.

Nous avons aimé son architecture et son décor, la terrasse sur le toit et la possibilité de dîner sur place. Le trio, Soufiane, Hamza et Mustafa est extraordinaire! Ils sont l’âme de cette maison. Ils sont prévenants,attentifs et aux petits soins avec la clientèle, du matin au soir. Le jour de notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis par Soufiane qui nous a offert le thé à la menthe et des gâteaux. Les petits déjeuners sont délicieux, copieux et variés. Hamza est un chef accompli, il concocte une cuisine savoureuse nous permettant de découvrir les principaux plats locaux. De plus, il partage volontiers ses recettes, Un soir, nous sommes sortis au restaurant et ils ont géré le taxi qui est venu nous chercher au riad, nous a conduit au restaurant où il est venu nous rechercher pour nous ramener à la porte. Ils nous ont également accompagnés à pied dans la medina les 2 premiers matins pour nous aider à nous orienter. Un service hors pair, jamais vu ailleurs! Plusieurs autres points positifs: le chauffeur qui nous attend à l’aéroport à l’arrivée et nous y ramène, le téléphone qui nous est remis à l’arrivée et qui nous permet d’être connecté au réseau marocain et de joindre le riad en tout temps et les 30 minutes de massage sur place qui sont offerts.
Cons: Dans l’établissement lui-même tout nous a plu! Quelques bémols sur le quartier qui nous a paru austère, un peu excentré, bien que tout se fasse à pied. La formidable équipe en place compense toutefois!

All the staff were very attentive and keen to help. The free taxi transfer to and from the airport was very welcome and the loan of a mobile phone during our stay was a very smart idea. The food was good, especially the kofta tajine which was excellent. The location was good being in a quieter part of the old time where you could see a less touristic way of life.

Le riad allie charme traditionnel et confort moderne : les chambres sont décorées avec goût, très propres et particulièrement reposantes, et les espaces communs (patio, terrasse) invitent à la détente après une journée de visite. Un grand merci à toute l'équipe, d'une gentillesse et d'un professionnalisme remarquables. Ils ont été aux petits soins du début jusqu'à la fin et ont même organisé une belle surprise pour un anniversaire en nous proposant un gâteau délicieux et joliment décoré — un geste qui a rendu ce moment inoubliable. Le petit-déjeuner était généreux et la situation du riad, idéale pour explorer la médina. Je recommande vivement le Riad Dar Zaouia à quiconque cherche une adresse chaleureuse et soignée à Marrakech. Nous y retournerons sans hésiter !

We have travelled to more than 70 countries and stayed in hundreds of hotels but, in all honesty, we have never seen a customer service like the one provided by the team of Riad Dar Zaouia! They made us feel at home from the first moment. The riad itself is like a safe and quiet oasis in the middle of the bustling medina. It is beautifully designed and the courtyard is trully an oasis of tranquility. The rooftop where you have breakfast and eventually dinner offers a great view to the city. The rooms are well-appointed and have all necessities (though admittedly not overly large). The riad team helped us with everything – taxis, laundry, tours – and were really willing to go the extra mile. Highly recommended!
Cons: Just a few small recommendations: - In one of the rooms the toilet door had a bit of an opening above it. It would be good to have that covered for additional privacy. - The door to the toilet is very authentic but not easy to open as it touches the floor. - The neighborhood is safe but not exactly polished to Western standards. If you want a more manicured environment go to the New Town of Marrakech. And that’s it! Do stay at the Riad Dar Zaouia if you want the authentic Moroccan experience

We had an amazing stay at this wonderful Riad . The staff organised complimentary collection and drop off from the airport .Situated about one km / 20 minute walk outside the main centre of Marrakesh it enabled us to walk through the narrow streets and souks and take in the many things to see - the old school & YSL and secret gardens . We felt safe but were greatly assisted by the phone the staff gave us with google maps on - couldn’t have done without it .We also had a great trip out to the Atlas Mountains ..As for the Riad. It was incredible. The staff especially Mustafa and Sofian couldn’t have been kinder and more accommodating to our every need and question .. superb breakfast and a nice complimentary massage were all brilliant but our daily Berber lessons were the highlight and the anniversary chocolate cake summed up the superb service from these brilliant kind people . Our stay was amazing, the team couldn’t have done more for us. From the moment we booked their communication was excellent, the driver was waiting for us at the airport on arrival. Breakfast was fantastic, a good selection with pastries, Yoghurt, fresh fruit, omelette, breads, and fresh orange juice. One amazing perk they offer at the Riad is they give you a local mobile phone so you can hotspot from it and have signal when you head out. It has the contact details for the team back at the Riad and they can help with any issues or questions you have. Such a fantastic touch. We had dinner at the Riad two of the nights, the food was excellent; and the staff engaging and it’s a perfect sanctuary to return to after the hustle and bustle of the medina. We also had a massage booked in as part of our stay, and the masseuse was excellent. The Riad is over 500 years old. And beautifully restored, it’s located in a residential area of the old town, and we felt safe walking around day or night. Thank you all for our wonderful stay. We will be coming back Ayesha and Dan!

En résumé, grâce à Sophian, Hamza, Moustafa et Laila ce fût une expérience unique. Une équipe sympathique, disponible et à l’ecoute et attentive à nos besoins qui est toujours là pour nous. On est accueilli comme un membre de la famille. Aucun stress. Le quartier est typique et on est immergé dans le quotidien des marocains. On y croise peu de touristes car un peu éloigné des zones touristiques. On y a de tout l’animation de l’animation de la grande place à 20 minutes de marche et le calme du quartier typique. En sus une piscine pour se détendre en fin de journée et déguster le thé que l’on gentiment nous apporté.

Soufiane, Mustafa, Hamza e le signore che si occupano della cucina hanno reso il nostro soggiorno speciale. Ogni nostra richiesta trovava accoglienza. Ottime sia la cena che la colazione. Letto grande e comodo. Ottimi anche il cellulare che ti danno in dotazione per contattare lo staff e per avere internet e il transfer da e per l'aeroporto inclusi nel prezzo. Soggiorno molto piacevole!
Cons: Nonostante il servizio impeccabile e l'ambiente curato, il prezzo resta un po' alto per la tipologia di struttura. La posizione è tranquilla e il quartiere è pittoresco con botteghe artigiane ma un po' lontana se si vogliono visitare a piedi le principali attrazioni (ca mezz'ora a piedi da Jemaa El Fna). Lo staff è comunque sempre disponibile a prenotare dei taxi.

Their kindness and attention to detail made us feel completely at home. The riad itself is beautiful and full of charm, but what truly makes it special is the people. Everyone was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about our experience. We even got to enjoy a fantastic cooking class — such a fun and unique highlight of our stay! I can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re looking for a stay filled with true Moroccan hospitality, delicious food, and wonderful people, Riad Dar Zaouia is the place to be. Très joli Riad au parfum de fleur d'oranger! Tout confort, très propre, nous avons passé un super sejour en famille. Un grand grand merci a toute l'équipe car le personnel est tres attentionné, vous vous y sentirez vite comme chez vous. Tout le monde est aux petits soins , est d une grande gentillesse. Le transport aller et retour a l aeroport est un plus, ainsi que le smartphone qui vous est prêtez pour avoir le wifi tout le long de votre séjour a l exterieur, ces services font toutes la difference. Et grand merci aussi a la dame qui s affaire en cuisine et realise un super petit dej avec des gateaux, crêpes et autres delices fait maison. Au top : audrey jerome et lou.

The staff were very helpful throughout our seven night stay . The accommodation was very clean and all the meals were very good. The mobile phone provided was a great help finding our way around the old town . It also allowed us to use it as a hot spot and make use of our own UK phones for emails and WhatsApp. The property is situated about 20 minutes walk from all the museums and restaurants.

You have to stay here. Authentic riad, peaceful area and exceptional staff This is a wonderful, tranquil riad in the Medina. Situated in a local area, quiet and peaceful. As two women we felt very safe walking around the medina and to/from the riad even at night. The staff are exceptional, from the warmest of welcomes, they couldn't have been any more attentive, friendly or helpful. The food is delicious, big breakfasts (we took the leftovers with us wrapped in tin foil!) , homemade tagine and Moroccan salad all served on the peaceful rooftop. They have a lovely small pool - so we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon floating and drinking complimentary mint tea, followed by a trip to an authentic hamman (Nilo) just 5-10mins walk. M Sad to be leaving, on our last day I had the free massage (included in the booking) which was wonderful. We also were given a mobile to use for free and free tea and water when requested. I couldn't recommend this more. I'll be back with my husband and son.

This Riad is lovely. We particularly appreciate it after later staying at another Riad in Marrakesh, also with good reviews, which was nowhere near as good. Soufian and Hamza were both very friendly and helpful. The Riad provided our transfer from the airport, water when requested, and a phone with hotspot to use during our stay, all free of charge. The breakfast, served on the roof terrace, was huge and delicious. Our queen room was a good size and comfortable. It is located a little way from the main sights - 20-30 minutes walk, but the neighbourhood is quiet, which was perfect for a good night’s sleep. I would recommend this Riad.

Alles an diesem Riad war unglaublich! Das Personal hat uns von Anfang an das Gefühl von Zuhause vermittelt. Der Riad ist sehr liebevoll dekoriert, alle sind jederzeit bemüht den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Neben dem super Frühstück haben wir auch mehrfach im Riad zu Abend gegessen und waren begeistert. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall ganz bald wieder.

Hervorzuheben ist das tolle Team. Schon das abholen war super organisiert (mit Foto und Infos). Da wir so früh am Morgen angekommen sind, wurde uns sogar noch Frühstück serviert. Während des Aufenthaltes, wurden wir super unterstützt mit organisatorischen Dingen.

Notre séjour au Riad Dar Zaouia a été des plus agréables. Un personnel au petit soin pour nous durant ces 6 jours. Un mot gentil, des attentions délicates (merci pour les pétales de roses 🌹 à notre arrivée), des aides précieuses pour qui n’est jamais venu à Marrakech (merci d’avoir pensé à l’impression pour notre embarquement), l’équipe fait son maximum pour rendre votre séjour inoubliable. Notre chambre était suffisamment grande, décorée dans le style marocain. Le Riad est très beau et le toit terrasse permet de prendre le petit-déjeuner et le dîner en extérieur. Nous avons dîner 3 soirs au Riad : Tajines et couscous royal : une cuisine familiale, goûteuse, comme à la maison. Nous nous sommes régalés et c’est appréciable de pouvoir dîner sur place après avoir marché toute la journée! Le Riad est dans un quartier populaire et calme. Les soirs où nous sommes rentrés tard nous ne nous sommes pas sentis en insécurité dans la médina, ni dans le quartier qui est à 1/2h de la Place Djamaâ el-Fna . Merci à tonton Aziz et à toute son équipe pour leur gentillesse, leur accueil, leurs sourires qui ont largement contribuer à ce que notre séjour se déroule au mieux pour cette découverte du Maroc et particulièrement de Marrakech. Nous rentrons avec plein de beaux souvenirs !

Tudo maravilhoso! Dois pontos a destacar a simpatia sem dúvida o acolhimento que é feito desde o aeroporto até ao último minuto. O outro ponto é o pequeno almoço que é magnífico, tudo muito típico mas delicioso. Sem dúvida que o telemóvel com internet é uma mais valia, visto que realmente o Riad é um pouco afastado do centro. Tivemos direito também a uma incrível massagem relaxante. Recomendo

Ein ausgesprochen schöner Riad am Rande der Atstadt in einer ruhigen Umgebung-hervorragendes Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse mit Blick über ganz Marrakesch-sehr freundliches Personal, die wirklich alle Wünsche von Taxi bis individuellle Frühstückszeiten erfüllt und 24 h vor Ort erreichbar ist.
Cons: Die Lage befindet sich am Rande der Medina und ist vom Djemaa al Faa wirklich nur mit einem, wenn auch sehr interessanten, Spaziergang von 25 Minuten zu erreichen...ein Taxi für wenig Geld ist da sehr hilfreich

Cons: La ubicación es pésima. Hay que llamar al taxi para que venga a buscarte y tardan 15/20 minutos en llegar. Al centro , son 30 minutos andando por las calles de la Medina.De noche no lo recomiendo. La habitación para 3, resultaba algo pequeña. Se supone que tienes transfer incluido en la reserva, para la entrada y la salida, pero a nosotros solo nos fueron buscar al llegar, a la salida, tuvimos que pagar nosotros.

Un séjour inoubliable ! Nous avons été accueillies comme à la maison, dans une ambiance chaleureuse et authentique. Le personnel est exceptionnel, toujours dévoué, attentif et aux petits soins. Nous avons même eu la chance d’apprendre à préparer le thé marocain, un super souvenir ! Les repas étaient absolument délicieux, le cadre calme et reposant, parfait pour se ressourcer. Le téléphone portable fourni à l’arrivée est un vrai plus et très rassurant pour nous. Nous avons voyagé entre filles et nous nous sommes senties en totale sécurité et sereines tout au long du séjour. Nous ne pouvons que recommander ce riad, une vraie perle !

The staff at Riad Dar Zaouia were fantastic — genuinely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. One of them walked us to the restaurant we wanted to visit, and the next morning two staff members got up at 5 a.m., with one kindly accompanying me to the meeting point for the Hot Air Balloon Experience. When my daughter wasn’t feeling well, they generously extended our room until 3:30 p.m. at no charge and even went out to get medicine for her. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Their genuine kindness and warm hospitality made us feel truly welcome and very well cared for. This is one of the greatest charms of Morocco — its warm, kind, and hardworking people!

Cons: The distance from everything. I have hesitated to write this review because the facilities and customer service exceeded our expectations. However, the distance from the main sites is a HUGE drawback. Not one, not two, but three separate tour guides mentioned that the riad was far. Our private driver asked if we were sure we wanted to stay there. If you are okay with a long walk to and from all the sites, then this is the place for you. If you have young kids who won’t be able to handle the 20-25 minute walk to the main square, I would think twice before booking.

They went the extra mile to help. We loved the service. The staff allowed us to check in earlier and we really appreciate it as we were tired. The pick and drop off service added that extra sparkle to our amazing trip.
Cons: As others have mentioned, the location isn’t ideal. It is in the Medina but a bit further than some other options. We also experienced some uncomfortable moments with bees in the morning. Although we know it’s not the staff or hotel’s fault but not much was done. It was more than one of two bees around.

Du jamais vu : on nous prête une téléphone hyper pratique pour se diriger dans la ville ! Le petit déjeuner est bon et copieux (excellent yaourt maison), les repas du soir sont très bons également, c'est très agréable de manger sur la terrasse en haut du riad. They took us to pick up points for our trips which was really appreciated as the streets all look the same! 🤣. La décoration est authentique, notamment la salle de bain, et l’ensemble du cadre invite au repos. Malgré la chaleur, la climatisation et un ventilateur mis à disposition ont bien aidé. Seul bémol : la présence de nombreuses abeilles au petit déjeuner et un choix assez basique. Le riad est idéal en arrière-saison ou au printemps. Situé dans un quartier populaire mais sûr, à environ 30 minutes à pied de la place. Nous sommes rentrés tard dans la nuit sans aucun souci. Une adresse à recommander !

Gorgeous Riad nestled in an interesting part of the old town. This is a hidden gem and the team are outstanding in ensuring a great experience, from welcome to departure. In fact, we didn’t want to leave and added extra time to our stay. The rooms are very comfortable and there are some day beds around and sun loungers in the roof terrace to relax. The dining experience was great and the team were flexible as to when and where we could dine whether on the roof or in the courtyard. The pool is a nice touch too cool off in after a day of sightseeing. A huge thank you to all the team for a wonderful experience.

The staff were exceptional. Super kind, and nothing was too much trouble, but they never felt intrusive. Taxis, recommendations, ice, fresh water, always there within minutes of asking. We ate there the first night after an early start travelling and the food was fantastic. The plunge pool and roof terrace were perfect after a long day sightseeing. Gorgeous breakfast and airport transfers included so brilliant value for money. The GPS phone you get saves personal data use and is essential in the souks! Highly recommend as long as you are happy with a decent walk to the main centre or they will get you a taxi. No alcohol available on site, but if you bring some, they are happy to provide glasses and ice!

The Riad was absolutely lovely with 5 outstanding staff who just couldn't do enough for us. The bed was super comfortable and room thankfully air conditioned. Breakfast had fresh orange juice, yoghurt, crepes, bread etc. and an omelette if you wanted it. They supplied large bottles of cold water whenever we wanted and kept my husband supplied with cold milk for coffee in our room. Everyone went over and beyond in wanting us to have a good time. The use of the phone they supplied meant they were always on call if needed and the hotspot was wonderful when we were out and about. The complementary trip to and from the airport was seamless and very much appreciated by us. As you would expect there were quite steep steps in the Riad - not a problem for us (in our 70's) but wouldn't be ideal if you had mobility problems. Truly can't fault any of the Riad or its staff.
Cons: Possibly the location which is a walk or taxi ride from the centre but once we got our bearings we were happy to walk and explore the nearby souks etc

Exceptional facilities, phenomenal food and a great location make it an outstanding hotel, but what will embed it in our memories forever is the kindness of the staff. We have never encountered such an incredible team while staying at a hotel. Everything they do is from the heart and with a kind smile on their faces.

The team are exceptional. So welcoming, friendly and simply cannot do enough to help. From the moment we arrived and were provided with a delicious late meal to the moment we left, we felt so well looked after. Oh my, where do we start! The staff are impeccable!!! We came back from a tour on the day of check-in. We were going to walk 25mins from our drop off location, but Soufian had called and arranged transport for us already (included in the price of the Riad). We were taken in the car straight to the Riad and we were greeted and checked in by the lovely Mustafa. All guests are given a cellphone that you can hotspot off of, google and text/whatsapp the staff anytime if you have issues. The room was so beautiful! The shower blew my mind. We hugely recommend having a tajine at the Riad, it was so delicious and the staff (Soufian and Mustafa) made the night trying to teach us Berber and Arabic. I could eat the tajine we had there every single day of my life. As well as the delicious breakfast! YUM! We had a late flight on check-out day and they didn’t have anyone checking in until midnight, so they allowed us to have the room until we had to leave (4:30pm) without any extra charge; as well as being picked up by transport to the airport again (included in the Riad price). They also went through so much of the history about the Riad… it was so fascinating! The Riad is slightly out from the main square (Jemaa El-Fnaa), maybe 15-20mins walk, but walking through the maze of little roads and past all the shops, is so much fun. Plus, it is very close to major tourist spots: - Le Jardin Secret Gardens - Madrasa Ben Youssef This is a very long review, but there is absolutely nothing to criticise, everything is amazing, beautiful, special, and even made friends with the staff.

They gave us a local smartphone so we could use maps to get around - and we definitely needed it! we could WhatsApp them with any questions while we were out. It was a godsend! The Riad itself was fabulous also. Beautiful architecture and so comfortable. Also loved the fact we got 30 min massages included and round-trip airport transfer in our rate.
Cons: It is about a 15 minute walk to medina. But we didn't really mind this, we got to experience all the nooks & crannies of the side alleys and streets that we wouldn't have if we'd been more central!

We liked everything, there is really nothing negative to remark! Which says a lot as I have stayed in many hotels over the years and there is always something to improve, not here. Most notable is the impeccable 24/7 service provided by the entire team. Many Kuddos to Soufiane, Hamza, Mohamed and Mr Aziz, apologies if we missed someone. Although not a staff member, we also want to highlight our recommended taxi driver Abdul. As other visitors have mentioned, getting a phone at arrival that serves as a hotspot (no roaming costs) and an easy way to contact the Riad is an extremely clever idea that is not standard for Riads in Marrakesh.

We really ‘fell on our feet’ when we booked Riad Dar Zaouia! It would normally have been beyond our budget but there happened to be a special offer on Booking.com for our dates. I’ll never forget the feeling of arriving hot and tired after many hours of travel, and being ushered into the cool and calm of the inner courtyard with its soft lighting and scent of orange blossom. Soufian brought us Moroccan tea which we drank at a mosaic-topped cafe table under the indoor tree, while he explained about the authenticity and care with which the historical Riad had been restored. Our room was beautiful, with high quality fixtures and fittings. There were other inviting areas for sitting and lounging. Breakfast and dinner were flavourful, well-presented, good value and served under cover on the tranquil roof terrace. The plunge pool was clean and refreshing, heated to a comfortable temperature, and attractive to look at. The location was within easy walking distance of the main square and the souks, but inside the Riad was a peaceful oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle. From the outset we were made to feel genuinely welcome in this little paradise, thanks to the friendliness and helpfulness of every member of staff we encountered. They all made us feel really cared for. We’re home in England now but won’t forget the Riad and sometimes wish we were back there being looked after again! We 100% recommend Riad Dar Zaouia and hope to be able to return in the future.

Words can't describe what a perfect little oasis Riad Dar Zaouia is within the myriad of narrow lanes inside the medina (old town). It is traditional, quirky, cool, comfortable and immaculately clean. The staff team provided a 5 * service. They couldn't do enough to help and provided exceptional knowledge and advice on exploring and experiencing Marrakesh and beyond. If you want a true experience of everyday life within the Medina this Riad is perfectly located. We walked everywhere in this fascinating city and always felt safe. Soufian provided us with a mobile phone which was genius. It contained contact numbers and places to visit and allowed us to connect our own phone using it as a mobile hotspot. Even more exceptional was his help in organising us a taxi from the train station to the airport 2 days after leaving the hotel. Highly recommend.

The riad is lovely, with well preserved decor and architecture that allows one to experience a lifestyle unchanged for decades. It is an oasis of calm, very quiet at night with no outside noises, comfortable beds, and high quality linens. There are extensive thoughtfully designed areas on all 3 levels for lounging in comfort and luxury. But what really sets this place apart is the unparalleled hospitality provided by its staff. They were endlessly patient and helpful with us, explaining how to use the android phone provided during our stay, booking reservations for tours, taxis, and restaurants, offering advice for how to navigate the Medina, offering refreshments each time we returned, carrying our luggage, and offering unlimited support in every possible way, all delivered with energy, enthusiasm, and good humour. They made it very easy for us to enjoy exploring Marrakech on foot without any anxiety about getting lost, no mean feat in such a warren of narrow streets. We walked most places and felt safe the entire time, both during the day and evening. Our enjoyment of Marrakech was ensured by their constant care for our happiness and comfort.

We stayed at Riad Dar Zaouia for four nights in late February 2025 and had a fantastic experience. From the warm welcome with Moroccan tea by Soufiane, who helped us with everything from restaurant reservations to transport, to the incredible hospitality of Zakaria, every moment felt personal and cared for. Rabeah’s cooking was a highlight—especially the tagine and Harira soup. The riad is spotless and beautifully maintained, with a peaceful rooftop terrace perfect for relaxing after exploring the city. Its location is convenient, within walking distance to main sights, and the airport shuttle made arrival and departure smooth. All of the staff were kind, attentive, and made the experience feel truly special.

We liked the coziness and calmness. The lounge areas, rooftop area. The pool was heated and nice to relax. The property was always clean and smelled nice. The service was exceptional. Soufiane, Mustafa and Hamsa make a great team. The hospitality exceeded our expectations. It was extremely helpful that they provide the cell phone upon arrival, providing us direct communication with Soufiane and the hotel if needed. They also have a good connection if you need a taxi/travel anywhere safely. Breakfast and Dinner at the Riad is also very nice. I particularly enjoyed the fresh orange juice and the coffee every morning and the vegetable tagin.
Cons: There is opportunity to improve the water pressure in the shower.

What a wonderful experience! The property is absolutely gorgeous! The real jewel is the staff! Sefion, Hamza, the chef, the cleaning lady and the new gentleman went above and beyond to anticipate our needs and always greet us with a smile. The cell phone provided by the riad was a real life saver and fantastic amenity. The rooms had very comfortable beds and linens. I highly recommend eating supper at the Riad. The meals were delicious. We will definitely return! Thank you to all the wonderful staff!!!!

Service was exceptional in this 5-room riad in an "authentic" area of the medina and it suited our group perfectly, though it is not for everyone. The main staff member was Soufaine who spoke good English and was always on hand to help which was excellent. The accommodation & public areas are characterful but compact so the pool is a plunge pool tucked away on the lower ground floor. Breakfast on the roof terrace was good and the area is a nice sun trap. A mobile phone is provided to help navigate the maze of lanes and a lifeline in case you get lost or need advice. But ...
Cons: ... the area is 30+ minutes walk from the Marrakesh sights (so take good walking shoes) and is very much a working residential area with open metalworking workshops and local culture all around the riad. It is safe and quiet but could be intimidating to many as it is the complete opposite of "touristy". It is very good value (though the bathrooms need a little TLC) and we loved it for our 3 nights as a base to explore the souks & sights and dining out at some excellent restaurants

I loved the style of the room, the decor and facilities of the riad and, the breakfast, but especially the very helpful staff. They went out of their way to ensure that we felt comfortable and safe visiting Marrakech, booking transport for us, advising where to visit and providing a phone to keep in touch. Our location was a short walk from town but allowed us to see the less touristy parts of town.

The hotel was fantastic and the service of the staff was top-notch. Everyone was so friendly and always ready to help. Great rooms, good beds. Hotel provides a phone for easy connection in case the taxi needs directions. Great breakfast that leaves nothing to desire.
Cons: The hotel is a bit far away from the downtown square and you cannot walk there. Taxi only takes 5min and costs about 5-10 euros one way.

The staff Soufiane, Mohammad chef Raria and the Manager of the Riad could not have been more welcoming. We were slightly anxious when we arrived but our minds were quickly put at ease. Nothing was a problem from leaving us to certain points for our day trips to having access to a phone which the riad provided for us when we were out to giving us tips on what to do and what to avoid. The riad was so clean and beautiful loads of space to relax and the rooms were all very tastefully decorated.The food especially the breakfast with it's wide array of their local breads was outstanding. The evening meals were V good. Highly recommend this Riad it was like home from home.
Cons: The area around was a little daunting when we arrived but we did our best to immerse ourselves in the culture and show the locals respect.

Aziz and Sofian arranged taxis to take us into the medina, and then to Jardin Majorelle and the train station, which made everything so easy. The riad is beautiful, with lovely courtyard garden and rooftop terrace - there is also a pool.

From the moment I arrived at Diar Zaouia, I was warmly welcomed with tea and delicious biscuits by the incredibly kind manager, setting the tone for my stay. The attentive staff, including the sweet gentleman who handled my luggage and the amazing team responsible for preparing breakfast and lunch, made me feel right at home. The service is simply outstanding—everyone is so kind and ensures you feel comfortable immediately. The Riyadh itself is stunning, exuding traditional charm and elegance. It’s impeccably maintained, wonderfully peaceful, and provides a calm retreat from the bustling city. As for the food, it’s solid, authentic Moroccan cuisine—nothing extraordinary but definitely satisfying. However, I must give special praise to the biscuits, which were absolutely divine! I also treated myself to a massage, and it was fantastic. The therapist was incredibly sweet and skilled, making it a truly relaxing experience. The room I stayed in was nice and cozy, but there’s room for improvement. The water pressure in the shower was weak and occasionally fluctuated between hot and cold. Additionally, the wooden door leading to the hallway wasn’t soundproof, so noise from the common areas could be disruptive, especially in the mornings. If you’re a light sleeper, this might be a slight downside. That said, the value for money is excellent. They even provided a complimentary Mercedes van to pick me up and a car transfer to the airport, which was a lovely touch and included in the price. Overall, I’d rate Diar zaouia a solid 9/10. It’s a wonderful place to stay for a night or two, and the staff truly make it special. Thank you again to the amazing team—you deserve all the praise!

The staff gave me a cell phone to navigate the streets and if there were any issues to call them directly... they offered the best sight seeing locations and the tour location pick up site only approximate 5 minute safe walk.. They catered to me making an exceptional breakfast prior to my departure every day regardless of the time… the rooms were comfortable and quiet… It was very relaxing… on the last day they took care of everything and returned back to the airport…. Cons: Arranged day trip: Overpriced for what you get. Everything is pre arranged and you do not have space to explore alternatives although you have a private driver and guide. We were also charged additional for another tour guide who took us just on a short walk. Dinning in the hotel is overpriced: You are charged double the price compared to tourist city restaurants which was a bit disappointing for us.

This place is truly a treasure. It was absolutely beautiful, charming and wonderful. It was a typical riad layout with lots of vintage style and craftsmanship. The staff was FANTASTIC! They couldn’t have treated us any better. They met our every need with sincerity and a smile. The breakfasts and meals were top notch and could be eaten on the cozy rooftop or in our room. Our driver could drive us right to the space, even though it is located in the center of the Medina. It was a privilege to stay here because of the space, but even more so due to the wonderful staff. This will definitely be our go-to place to stay in Marrakesh.

This place is amazing. The road is stunning: beautiful rooms and lovely places to rest and relax in all three floors. Breakfasts and evening dinners were fabulous, served on a beautiful roof terrace. The staff at Zaouia looked after us so well. Particular thanks to Aziz and Soufiane, who were so welcoming. We really can’t wait to come back and stay again. The raid is located in a brilliant area. It was a short walk to the main attractions but outside of the main medina - which can feel very touristy. I loved being able to explore the surrounding streets without the tourist crowds.

Personalised experience: all was catered to our needs, wants and wishes. Nothing was too much for Soufiane and his team. They planned our days, brokered the various services, advised on experiences and venues, enabling us to have the best at the best price. They met us at the airport and delivered us back safely in the last day. We had a mobile phone to help us navigate the area and also allowed us to hotspot when out and about. The staff were friendly but also knew when to give guest’s their space, which was much appreciated. We also felt that they understood and easily accommodated those extra little things that can make or break a holiday. Very perceptive team. This beautiful, small Riad really sets the standard when it comes to hospitality and quality of accommodation. We’ve never experienced anything even close to what Riad Dar Zaouia has given us during our stay. It’s located in a genuine part of the Medina with small workshops and local atmosphere, rather free from the tourist crowd, still very convenient to get to all main attractions of Marrakech and pick-up points for excursions. Very clever to offer all guests a local mobile phone with all necessary info and contacts pre-programmed, really helps when you get lost in the souks (believe me, you will). Soufiane and the rest of the staff of the Riad is amazing. So much hospitality and helpfulness, from when we arrived until we left. Also, don’t miss out on the nice breakfast and excellent dinner served at the rooftop. Highly recommend this place and would not hesitate to come back one second!

Beautiful traditional Riad in the quieter part of town. The staff are exceptional and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Soufiane went above and beyond to help us and all the staff were amazing. He showed us where to go, helped us with our plans, and rescued us when we needed help. You will have the best service if you stay at this riad. I would also totally recommend the dinner here, it really felt like a home cooked Moroccan meal. We had an amazing time in Marrakesh, thanks to the fantastic hospitality at the Riad.
Cons: It’s in a less touristic part of Marrakesh, but we chose this Riad for this reason. It gave us the opportunity to really feel the city and walk amongst the locals to see their way of life. We felt safe at all times.

I've never had a place provide me a cell phone with local establishments and emergency numbers. I didn't get to fully partake in all the Riad had to offer because I was extremely jet lagged. They were extremely accommodating.

The Riad is an oasis of calm amongst the hustle and bustle of the Medina. Don't let the location put you off its tucked away down the back streets a bit but we walked everywhere at all times of night and day with the only hassle being kids telling you the alleys were closed (ignore them). We had a beautiful room and breakfasts were delicious. So much nicer than some huge impersonal hotel.

This Riad exceeded all expectations! As a meticulously maintained 400+ year-old property, it offers an authentic and serene retreat. The level of communication and service provided by the staff is truly exceptional. Despite our flight being delayed, the team ensured our smooth arrival by coordinating with the shuttle driver, who tracked our flight and met us directly at the arrivals hall. Upon reaching the Riad, Soufian and his colleagues welcomed us warmly with traditional Moroccan tea and cookies. Our luggage was promptly brought to our room, and we were given a thorough tour of the Riad before being shown to our accommodation. The room itself was extraordinary, blending the authenticity of its historical roots with tasteful renovations. There are ample common areas on each floor, including a beautiful rooftop terrace that offers stunning views of the city. Breakfast on the rooftop was a highlight, with a variety of fresh and delicious offerings. I cannot express how helpful the staff here is. Their hospitality is truly unmatched, as they consistently go above and beyond for their guests. Whether it was assisting with transportation or ensuring every aspect of our stay was perfect, they exceeded all expectations. Additionally, the Riad provided a cell phone preloaded with useful apps, including WhatsApp, which featured emergency contacts and direct access to the Riad’s staff. This made it easy to request assistance or book transportation when needed. While we chose to walk everywhere, the Riad’s central location made navigating the city effortless. The Riad has been exquisitely renovated, with original features and a traditionally luxurious finish. The staff were exceptionally professional, friendly, knowledgeable and quickly dealt with any requests. One great positive is that guests are handed a mobile phone to use during their stay. An absolute godsend as The Medina is a maze of unmarked lanes making navigating a challenge so to have data / mapping throughout the stay was invaluable. And WhatsApp is set up to communicate with the staff both within and outside the riad.
Cons: We enjoyed the 30+ minute walk to / from the main square as the location enabled us to explore some genuinely authentic areas of the Medina, however as the area is difficult to navigate, i would recommend guests either arrange with staff to book taxis if they don’t want to get lost, as even with mapping on the phone, the labyrinth of narrow unmarked lanes is challenging and getting lost encourages local men along the route to offer to provide directions in exchange for a fee.

Helped us both feel comfortable and relaxed to enjoy the pool, atrium, rooftop, and exploring around the area. They addressed every need with a smile! Their connection to my son made it hard to leave and level of service was unmatched during the rest of our stay in Morocco.
Cons: The first night, I was woken by a bug crawling on me and a strange smell wafted through our room the last night. Minor issues and I know staff would have taken care of them immediately if I told them.

Couldn't do enough and showed my son how to make traditional tea, walked us to the main area and always on hand. Would always stay here in the future. Really loved having the phone with a local sim so could contact but also find out way around, and the added touch of having a list of places to visit in order was super helpful and made our day exploring even better. Got great tips about avoiding the "helpful" locals trying to redirect us...which came in handy a lot. Food was delicious. Really can't fault a thing.

Beautiful stay with incredible staff! We were provided with cell phones which were great for for navigating our way through the medina. On the one occasion we did get lost, our hosts came and found us within 5 minutes which was amazing! Very clean and comfortable stay in a stunning Riad, with lots of mint tea, delicious breakfast and pool! Dinners were also very affordable and generous in their serving sizes.

My room was very nice and there are many beautiful places also to relax a bit. After a short walk you are in the center of the city. And now to the most important thing: the staff! They were all so friendly and my stay in the riad really felt like home. I’ve never been to a place before, where the staff really makes everything for you. They give you a phone with GPS what is very helpful and you could call them everytime, if you would have a problem or getting lost somewhere. They really go every single extra step for their guests. Thanks a lot to everyone! My biggest thanks are going to Soufian! He made my stay in marrakech perfect and was all the time there for me! I would recommend this riad to everyone, because it was just perfect and I hope that I can go back to this place one day.

All with no exception were extra kind and attentive, specially the manager Aziz and Soufiane who went above and beyond: talking with the taxi drivers to make sure we arrived at the Riad even going to pick up us up a few meters outside the Riad. And the cell phone they gave us was super helpful. Great time we had at Dar Zaouia!

We loved everything about the Riad which is beautiful. The staff are amazing and go the extra mile. Walking with us to where we were being picked up, making sure we didn't get lost, etc. We had a smartphone and only needed to call them if we needed help. We were confused by the MAD and accidentally spent £1400 on spices!! They called the Spice shop and spoke to the manager. Then went back to the shop with us to sort the situation out. Which resulted in getting most of our money back, Phew! We kept some spices and paid a reasonable amount for them. The Riad is in a local area of the Medina, but we knew this when we booked. Very interesting as you walked to the main square you could see craftsmen working on many things. As you continued towords the Souks, you could see the environment changing into a less chaotic one. The Riad was a peacful retreat but as soon as you stepped out the door it was like you had landed in a galaxy far, far away completey bonkers.

The Riad is a haven of tranquility behind a huge wooden door in a busy area of the Medina. We were treated like family and made to feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble - the hosts, Aziz, Soufiane and Omar were excellent. Food was lovely and we could eat when it suited us. The bed was super comfortable and the rooms were all individually decorated and furnished in traditional Moroccan style. It was a great experience.
Cons: Before booking I was told the room had a bath. In fact there was a bath (of sorts) - really a very large and deep stone shower 'tray" which was fine. I was looking forward to a long relaxing soak. Unfortunately there wasn't enough hot water to fill the bath which was a pity. I brought it to the attention of the hosts. Aziz said it wasn't a bath but there was a plug and low taps and spout in addition to the shower controls, suggesting a bath. Regrettably the water situation didn't improve and the hot water only lasted barely long enough for a quick shower; it ran luke warm after a few minutes. Although I was disappointed with the lack of continuous hot water, it didn't detract too much from my enjoyment of my stay.

Fabulous little gem of a hotel in the centre of the Old part of Marrakech. Soufian was absolutely the epitome of how you should look after guests. Nothing was too much.. giving us a phone during our stay was a good touch.. The room was excellent, and the breakfast on the rooftop terrace was delicious. When we come back to Marrakech, we will stay here again.

Wonderful Riad, great people, amazing service, beautiful rooms, wonderful atmosphere, great breakfast. Situated in a local area with no tourists. The Riad gives you a phone during the stay, so you can always find your way on the map, and call them if necessary. A truly great and needed service since it can be really difficult to find the way without.

Had a wonderful stay here. A very warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble for Aziz and his staff who go out of their way to assist. Rooms are tidy and immaculate. All guests are Given a free mobile phone to navigate around town which is essential. Would highly recommend using the hotel shuttle service from town especially at night. Great place and full marks !!

Incredible stay, the staff here were the absolute highlight. Amazing at making sure we had everything we needed and even walked us to the ATM when we couldn’t find it! The food was great, very accommodating to our dietary requirements. Stunning room and Riad, everything was chosen very carefully and beautifully. The staff were amazing, especially with our young son. They gave us a phone to use for navigation, which was really handy. The pool was heated so perfect for winter. The roof terrace was also really nice. It’s a little distance away from the busy centre but that’s quite a good thing. Also meant taxis etc can get right to the property, unlike elsewhere.

We stayed here on our 1st trip to Marrakech and what a fantastic stay it was. The Riad is a little bit out of the way but reading the previous reviews, we knew this. The Riad is beautiful and the staff are fantastic and attentive. The food is very reasonably priced and superb. Breakfast on the rooftop was excellent. The free airport shuttle was a big plus. They also sorted out our private tour of the Atlas Mountains. I'd highly recommend staying here and we'll be back.

Cons: The riad is located in the old town of Marrakesh. It is not so easy to reach it by car if you drive yourself as the streets are very narrow. But that is to be expected due to the location.

Lovely riad that served perfectly for our first trip to Morocco and Marrakech. We were well taken care of by the attentive and nice staff, and big bonus for the free shuttle and the mobile phone with Moroccan SIM that we could use throughout our stay. The riad itself was beautiful, traditional and very relaxing. Perfect for reading a book and sip on a mint tea. Will come again.

We had a great time here in Marrakech at Riad Dar Zaouia. The Riad is located in an authentic and safe area. It is about a 15-20 minute walk from the centre with the square. Our room as well as the whole Riad was very clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were offered a phone to take with us with hotspot and useful information and all the staff gave us a lot of tips for our stay in Marrakech. Aziz even organized a trip for us. We ate dinner at the riad twice and the food was delicious! An airport transfer was included. We couldn't be happier with the choice we made!

The Riad Is very nice, clean and comfortable. All the staff are very polite and friendly. Soufiane made sure we had everything we needed during our stay.
Cons: Unfortunately during our stay some guests were constantly smoking outside our room and we could smell the smoke inside our room even with all the windows shut. Would be nice if smokers could have a dedicated area distant from rooms and eating area.

The politeness and helpfulness. The service was very good. The roof top relaxing and restaurant area was a very nice contrast to the busy markets. They were always contactable at any time with a speedy response. The free pick up from the train station was good.
Cons: The location was slightly out of the main tourist hub on the north side of Medina, so around 15 to 20 mins to the main area. You need to wander through local communities to get to and from the hub. They do give you a phone though with Internet to get around which is very helpful.

I stayed with my brother's family, which included two small children. The staff was very friendly and helpful for the kids, and the pool was great for small children. The food was also excellent (we had several dinners and lunches there), and other services (such as laundry and arranging car services) were also very helpful. The staff goes out of their way to help their guests with whatever needs may arise. (The kids especially loved Sufian and Omar!)
Cons: Everything was wonderful for us. The location might seem a little far from the main square for some people (about a 30-minute walk), but, for us, it worked well. It's an interesting walk, but, also, it's easy to have a car arranged to pick you up or drop you off (it's a good location at the edge of the medina, so a car can take you directly to the riad door).

Fabulous Riad with the best service. We were picked up from our desert camp just outside Marrakech which was a nice touch, as well as transfer to the airport. The staff were so helpful while we were there, such nice people. Food was great - we stayed on NYE and had delicious meal on the rooftop.

Everything about our trip to Riad Dar Zaouia was really comfortable and a great experience. The staff were amazing, helping us with taxis, providing a phone so we could always contact them and always making sure we had everything we needed. The room was beautifully decorated and clean.

We looked forward to the delicious breakfasts each morning! There was so much to eat, from a selection of fresh fruit and yoghurt, omelette, bread and homemade jams, cakes, coffee and tea and the most refreshing freshly squeezed orange juice! The offer of a smart phone with a local sim card is a 'master stroke'! It meant we were able to wander through the Medina and Souks to all the amazing places we wanted to visit in the knowledge we wouldn't get lost but if we did happen to lose our way, we were only a phone call away from Soufian's help.

Fantastic service, so friendly and helpful. The staff was very keen on making us to feel safe when visiting Marrakech, giving us advice and guiding us where to go. They had arranged with a driver from the airport that also took us to our rental car agency the next day. Our room was also fabulously decorated when we arrived.

Also the airport shuttle service and the smartphone to use as a router is a fantastic initiative that allows you to have much less to think about and allows you to enjoy your stay. The Riad was very clean with lots of facilities such as the pool, massage rooms upstairs sunbathing rooms etc. My family and I had one of the best holidays ever. We are all really loved it. The rooms are very comfortable and extremely clean. Although the location might not be the best, it is definitely the most unique experience you can get in Marrakesh. What win us over though was the staff. We took this holiday because it was my mom’s birthday and they went out of their way to make as many surprises as they could for her. Cakes, rose patels in the bed, gifts etc. Omar and Soufian made our stay magical and took great care of us, as well as the lovely chef.

Most amazing staff, as mentioned from all the previous guests. Would definitely come back! We had dinner at the Riad, which was good and plentiful. Couscous with veg/meat were 20/25€. If you arrive by car be sure you get the pin of the parking, not the hotel. Should you run into any problems, call the manager-he is very helpful!

Absolute perfection from start to finish. I loved everything about this Riad. As an artist I especially loved the location, it is just off the tourist track, where you see metal workers, artisans and everyone in between going about their business, such a feast for the senses!! Once inside it is a little piece of paradise so quiet and pristine, luxurious bedding, slept like a baby. I recommend eating at the Riad also as the food is top class, you can request to eat where you wish, inside outside on the terrace….Honestly could go on and on about the place and facilities. A great bonus was the free transfer from the train station and a free transfer to the airport on departure also being given a smart phone for the duration of your stay, with Google maps. Great price overall!!!

An incredibly rare and beautifully decorated Riad (=paradise on earth) ran by kind and honest people. If you are looking for a native experience I highly recommend this place. Don't book at the last moment. Mr Soufiane and his family were very attentive and legitimately try to help you at any moment, for any situation in or out of the hotel. We felt there was no problem that can't be solved.
Cons: The location is tricky but we were picked up and walked to the establishment. We were also accompanied to the main road during check out.

Out of all the Riads we stayed in, in Morocco, Dar Riad Zaouia was by far the best. The staff, Soufiane, and Aziz made us feel like queens. These guys were above and beyond accommodating, kind, and respectful. Aziz walked us to our first attraction so that we wouldn't get lost. It took like 20 minutes! They called taxis for us, they booked massages for us, they cooked dinner for us. When we checked in, they gave us a separate phone that had a map of the medina, phone numbers of the hotel, and the personal numbers of Soufiane and Aziz so that if we got lost, they would personally come and get us. How can you beat that kind of service? The Riad was very beautiful, clean, and peaceful. Dar Zaouia also only has 5 rooms, so it was quiet and the service was extremely personal. I highly, highly recommend staying here.

Being inside Riad Dar Zaouia is like being in a fairly tale. This structure in the heart of Marrakech, in a typical and traditional neighborhood is very charming. The Riad is new, just renovated,it has all comforts with many areas dedicated to relax and a few rooms. It feels like being at home, but pampered and served throughout. Thank you Sofia, Sana, Omar who gave me a flawless room and Rabìa an exceptional chef and obviously Aziz, the director, which makes everything go smoothly without Troubles. Really a magical experience. Too bad that I was only a day. I will definitely come back and I will stay at least a week...

The most amazing stay in an amazing place. The staff were exceptional. Made me feel so welcome, sorted every detail. I was a lone female traveler and they made sure I was always helped to get taxis, when making my way around Marrakesh and with lots of local knowledge. The superb hospitality of everyone in the riad starting from its Manager, Aziz who has daily checking on us if all are ok and if we have problems for he will make things Happen for you. To superb Sofian and Omar who both were ready all the time for whatever we need. To superb Chef, Rabia, for the superb dinners! And to Sana for cleaning our room everyday. Riad dar Zaouia is home away from home. Plus sumptous breakfast

Very nice and recently renovated riad. Very nice room with comfortabel beds. Nice little pool in the ground floor with warm water (around 29 degC). The dinner and breakfast were very nice and served on the roof terasse. Very, very friendly staff. Nearby car park is available. Great communication with the manager to get to the parking and pick up from the parking was arranged.
Cons: Perhaps the location. The riad is some 30 minutes walking from the centre of town (the ‘big square’). But because of the location, it is also very quiet.
