An absolutely fantastic and budget-friendly stay in Marrakesh. The Riad has an unbeatable, central location perfect for exploring. Communication was excellent; a special thanks to Youssef for his friendly and instant support. The great breakfast included was a major bonus, offering both convenience and value. Highly recommended for a stress-free and affordable experience!

Cons: One small suggestion for improvement: providing a proper, absorbent bathmat would be better, as the shower water easily splashes out of the curtained area.

Cons: Niente

The staff was incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. The patio is beautiful and genuinely a pleasure to spend time in. The 24-hour reception is also a great convenience, making everything easy and smooth.

Cons: Unfortunately the beds weren't very comfortable and the beddings weren't nice since the blanket was very rough. It's good location in an internal street but if you have an outside room you will hear the noice from the street since the windows are very thin. I couldn't sleep because there were kids playing :(

It is a classic riad close to the center. We were welcomed by a very friendly guy, I think his name was Yusuf. We were able to arrive at the property before the agreed time, he arranged all the taxi transfers for us, an early breakfast because we had an early morning flight. He kindly served us a welcome tea.

The host Youssef was very welcoming and friendly. He was very helpful with tips on where to travel.

Cons: Would not recommend this place for the price you pay, you can certainly get much better elsewhere. The surroundings and furniture of the room was so old and fragile - really needs updating/renovating. There was so much of dust everywhere. The lighting as well was so poor that it was difficult to tell whether it was day or night in the room at all. The shower was terrible - kept switching between hot/cold so we ended up either freezing cold or burning our skin. Worst of all, the air conditioning was not working and the room was boiling hot and when we raised this we heard we were not the only one having this problem - this made nights uncomfortable when sleeping. We requested a fan to keep us cooler but we never got one. The bed as well was not comfortable as well. We really wished we had stayed in the other riad in the first place which we ended up staying in after checking out of this one (the other riad was just down the road) and this riad was excellent and we only ended up paying a few dirhams more!

The location of the Riad is good almost perfect. Is very close (walking distance) of some major tourist attraction like Jamaa el-Fna, Jardin Majorelle, Madrasa Ben Youssef ( the Koranic/Islamic school which is a very interesting museum to visit ) and many others ... We like to thank YOUSSEF, our host who made us feel so welcomed, he offered his help and advises and prepared us a lovely breakfast every morning. As a tourist coming for the first time in Marrakech you might feel a little unsafe seeing the Medina streets .... BUT DON'T WORRY, people there are peaceful and friendly and they know how to interact with tourist from all over the world. The surrounding is very vibrating until late at night .... Marrakech truly seems a city that doesn't sleep. IT'S SUCH A FACINATING PLACE !!!! We definitely will return there .... From the Riad to Marrakesh Central train station you can take a bus, only 3 station, and in front the train station is the bus connecting with the airport (very close also). We also recommend a guided tour to Agafay desert and the camel ride and exploring the entire city ... We simply LOVED MARRAKCHESCH !

Cons: Nothing to say here

Our stay at Riad Mahjouba was absolutely wonderful - we could not recommend it enough and would definitely stay here again next time we are in Marrakech. It is in an excellent location with everything you want to see less than a 20-minute walk away. The host Youseff was very helpful and happy to give recommendations and Chaouqi kindly organised our pick-up and drop-off to the airport. We were made to feel very welcome during our stay. Rooms are a nice size, beds are comfy and bathrooms are clean. Working air con also available in the rooms which was a life saver after days exploring in the heat. Breakfast was included in our booking and it was such a nice start to the day with fresh pastries, coffee and traditional Moroccan tea. If you are looking for a traditional Riad, with lovely hosts and in a great location - Riad Mahjouba is the place to book.

This beautiful Riad combines traditional interior design and a comfortable, modern-day staying in Marrakesh. I absolutely loved my stay in the Riad. Very clean and looked after by the staff. The staff working there are most welcoming, very friendly personalities! Breakfast was included with traditional Moroccan tea served! The accommodation offers facilities like Hamam, massage options, all reasonably priced. The location is great, within a 20min walk to the city centre. The hospitality I felt and received was incredible!

We had opportunity to spend 3 nights in Riad Mahjouba. The rooms aren’t very modern, but they are clean, have working AC and everything you will need. Joseph, the host, is the kindest person I have ever met. Really helpful, nice, open and caring guy. He can recommend places to visit, give some good tips for traveling and have a nice chat. I really recommend this place and staff working there is big part of this recommendation!

Staying in Riad is a unique experience that I suggest to everyone travelling Morocco. Riad Mahjoiba exceeded our expectations, in photos it can look dark and small, but in reality our room was very shiny and very comfortable. The location was inside medina, 15-20 minutes walk to the famous square, also very safe. The staff was amazing, special thanks to Yousef who never got tired of our questions and helped a lot during our stay. Generally we enjoyed our stay it was worth the price. Beautifully decorated Riad on the quiet street right in the medina. Has rooftop for sun tanning and hammam that you can arrange after your full day in Marrakesh. Great day to relax Kitchen was open and we could see the cooking process. Women were kind to us to show it. Owner of the Riad suggested great place to eat. After spending our time in Marrakesh it was the best and least expensive cafe we ate. Thank you! In overall I would totally recommend this Riad.

Cons: Beds were a little soft. It is fine for a couple but we were too girls. Riad should have an option for a room with 2 beds. Also need hand soap in the bathroom. I am sure staff would supply. We had our own soap and didn't ask for it.

A small traditional riad in the Medina, which made us feel like guests for the weekend. The owner welcomed us with traditional mint tea and gave us useful tips and tricks for navigating the souk in the Medina. We also had an early flight, and they helped us book a taxi to ensure we arrived at the airport on time at a very good price.

Cons: You can hear other guests when they come back from late excursions, as the riad is a traditional house and you can hear what's happening outside your room. However, this was not a problem for us.

Cons: The riad is not recommended if you like a comfortable bed a clean shower and any space to but things. I traveled with my mom and we where super desapontada. The location is quiet but not very close to anything. The breakfast is terrible, the OJ from concentrat. The bread probably 5 days old. We bought our own oranges and bread and had the staff make it. But for all the money they asking it should be at least something deasent.

It is a traditional accomodation in a typical Riad about 20 minutes walking from the Place Djema El Fna. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hamam and massage available. I also liked the rooftop terrace a lot. Thanks a lot for the great stay :-)

We got greated on arrival by such warmth from the staff, all so lovely & some hot mint tea. He was so funny & showed us around, the decoration is stunning. The rooms met the star rating. I stayed here for 1 night & then walked into the main square which took about 35 mins, through the souxs to another hotel. Don't be put off on arrival at night , as it takes a little while to slide into the culture of the busy city here. I booked a taxi from the airport through the hotel, so was smooth & safe for 150 Dh. Also marrakesh take euros which is helpfull.

Cons: Nothing.

The staff and the decoration. It’s a family owned Riad, they are very nice and tried to help me during my stay. The receptionist, Shukra assisted during my stay help to find places and ensure my safety, picking me up in the night sometimes. The room was comfortable and tidy, breakfast was also nice. The location was great, very close to the medina. They also have a spa that for a good price you can enjoy yourself and relax.

Cons: No complaints, just thankful for the experience and care I received.

Everything was beyond exceptional at this Riad. The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. A cooking class was organised for a good price and we got a hell a lot of food, the breakfast is good and the facilities are great too. Would stay here again and would 100% recommend if you are looking to book. Isn’t too far from all the main hotspots. Thanks to all the staff for making this such an enjoyable trip, we will be back!!

Full credit to the manager, Chaouqi, who took the trouble to mark out the riad's location on a tourist map, plus local sites worth visiting. Very hospitable and great sense of humour. I got slightly lost at one point and he came out to find me and walk me back to the riad. Superb!

We stayed there two nights in a row in different rooms. The rooms, the atmosphere, the authentic furniture and design, the breakfast, and the quietness of the place were generally satisfactory. The host and the lady who cooks and cleans the place were mostly attentive to our needs. The riad is within a 15-20 minute walking distance from Jemaa el-Fnaa, even closer to the Medina, so the location is good.

Cons: Although the host, Zakaria helped us a lot, it was a big problem that he wasn't actually there most of the time. We'd seen him only 2 times and the other times we had to keep asking the lady, whom we communicated with in Arabic cuz she didn't know English, to call him to deal with issues, get information etc. Even so, we had "a misunderstanding" on the phone with him and we had to stay in a room without a light on our 2nd night.

It was the worse room I have slept in a Riad or Hotel. The room I saw its picture was not near the one they offer me. The base of bed was made of ' Cement' yes, Cement!!. and matters was even harder the cement base. I told Zack about the bed and he said that all the room's matters are the same. but I did check matters the room next to my room when the maid was cleaning and it was not the same. There is women prays and sleeps in the communal area, I don't understand why they don't give a room to sleep!

I like the location and the ladies was nice, yet the rest was not good. There is no shower gel, shampoo or anything for this matter in the bathroom. I had to constantly ask for clean towel, bedsheet got change twice throughout my 10 days stay. I ask for a soap and to be honest I never seen such a small soap in my life and they expected me to use it forever. Even when it was finished they don’t replaced it unless I ask. The person at the reception is not to be seen, if you need him you have to text him and I feel sorry for the lady who lives there as she doesn’t speak English and struggle all the time when someone needed something. The cleanliness of this place is very poor, everything that is hanging on the wall is full of dust. I only blame the owner as one person can’t deal with all these rooms. Personally I would not recommend anyone there and I would not go back.

Cons: Clean the place better by hiring at least one more person. The receptionist should stay at reception when people need help. Provide basic things like shower gel or even a big soap and shampoo as people shouldn’t have to go and buy these things or carry it with them. Those are basic stuffs expected from hotel. Provide towels everyday Check rooms and change bedsheet often. Clean room often. I had a bad rash all over my body and I am pretty sure it was due to the lack of hygiene of this place.

The room was comfortable with an attached bathroom. The heater was excellent especially with the weather being cold. I left for the desert for 2 days and left my belongings that I didn't require behind and didn't have an issue. Zack the owner was very welcoming as are the ladies that work there. Zack personally took me to the tannery so that I would not get conned. Riad is tucked away in one of the alleys but as I had google maps it was easy to locate. Riad is in the old town and walking distance to all the main tourist attractions such as majorelle gardens, djama el fnaa, jardin secret, koutabia, dar si said, el badi palace etc.

Cons: The bathroom shower drained clogs very fast when you shower so water does not go down easily.

I loved the stay. Its near many touristic places and I could just go by walking to many of them. There are restaurants nearby, shops, and I loved to chat to locals. Only problem I had was communication because the lady did not speak english or french and when I checked out I came to know my payment was in cash (although booking asked my Credit card Informations on reservation) and it would not be a problem If I was not in time for taking the bus back to airport for my flight. If it was organized in the beggining it would be very much better, but everything went well and Zack was fast and we solved the problem. My room was amazing, decorated and the place is adorable. I was worried that my room that was having its door to the big Hall would be too much noisy but they respect the silence at night. So I loved the stay very much! The breakfast was delicious, there was a lady there during say who was very kind. It was a really good experience and I hope I can come back again. Truly recommend the Riad Mahjouba 🥰

This exquisite hotel is a secret paradise so quite only the chirping of little birds can be heard..they live here too. The staff are really lovely I only wish that I could stay longer ( sad faced) Every Moroccan detail is here at every turn and corner. Beauty abounds The couscous and chicken dinner served in a tangine was delicious and alcohol was served here but I didn't partake. The hotel is really Safe they don't even have to lock the doors at night!. I was greeted by the owner with mint tea and biscuits and a good conversation In french. This is a family business. As a disabled person my mobility scooter was safely moved inside and I had a ground floor room. Only 2 steps to get into the property but if I was wheelchair bound I'm sure I would have been lifted in without any problems. You can get the traditional hammam and massage on the top terrace. 2 floors up with handrails.. But be prepared to be naked or bring a spare pair of pants! Large TV screens allow you to watch YouTube in the lounge surrounding the enclosed courtyard. Dinner for an extra charge is served at ANYTIME you want. Their is a chap here who also offers guided tours he speaks English but prefers communication Via WhatsApp so be prepared to buy a Moroccan SIM card. Payment is in cash at the end of your stay I don't know the total cost yet as still lazing around. There is no defined check-in or checkout it's totally up to you. Staying here on Christmas Eve there was only a 3 person Dutch family and one other small family. If you come please respect the lady who has been praying in full sight. This morning at 5 am i heard 6 simultaneously callings for prayer time. A beautiful sound indeed. If the ground floor bed is too hard for you, and it will be you are allowed to sleep on the enormously long sofas.it can get quite chilly this time of year but a BIG fleece blanket is available in the room

Cons: No WiFi networks available at this property but that is all I can think of. So nothing to dislike

Zack has been an excellent communicator from the word GO. He got in touch with me shortly after booking was completed, making himself available for anything we needed. We asked for airport pickup just few hours before setting off and it was arranged swiftly. Then, because of the late expected landing of our flight, he asked if we wanted some dinner prepared! The riad is close enough to Marrakech's Medina to reach it with a 15-20 mins walk thru the picturesque streets, filled with souks and more and his advice and tips on local customs were true insights! Zack was also of invaluable help when time came to organize our excursion in the desert: we got a bit lucky and enjoyed a semi-private your during which we could stop at our leisure, so another round of applause for the man! Altogether a great week, with lots of funny moment and the only regret not to have ehough time to reach for Fes but...we will be back!

Our stay was excellent, I would highly recommend this riada for anyone who would like to to experience real Moroccan hospitality and authentic local experience, decorations of riada are one of the kind, however the highlight of the experience is Mr Zack, the manager, and his team! You really feel like you are the guest in his home, nothing is to much of a trouble for him & the ladys! Zack was available 24/7 for any question or recommendation, always with a smile on his face. We get great recommendations from him, even when we checked out, he made sure we have his number if we will need any help or support! Location is great if you want to explore Medina, we also get some drinks and food from a supermarket and lady’s of riada provide us with plates, wine opener, glasses etc., so we could enjoy our little night cup on a rooftop terrace. Our Marrakesh experience wouldn’t be as great as it was without Zack and his team!

I saw a reminder to review my stay. Because I had a positively experience, I will write this review. I went to Marrakesh more often, so I know a little bit what to expect from a Riad. The styling of the inner place and my room was very well done. It looks like a more expensive place. My room was situated on the ground floor. The room has a nice shower, my bathroom had a lowered cealing so the shower was not made for tall people(max180cm). This might differ in other rooms. The matras of the bed was a little bit hard for my taste (fyi: I weigh 75kg), but either way, I slept like a rose. The personal is really nice and helpfull. I talked with them about my further travels and were willing to show me the way. Served breakfast is simple but will do just fine to get your day started, with good coffee, some bread, butter and jams.
