Riad Contessa is ideally situated, not too far from a main road and drop off point. Didn't worry about getting lost. Breakfast was very good. Omelette / bread / cake / jams / honey / yoghurt / fresh orange juice. Different cake, bread and fruit every day. Served individually as you were seated. We had an early start one morning and were offered a smaller, early breakfast. All members of staff were very helpful and friendly. Riad has been tastefully upgraded with traditional decor and fittings. The roof terrace and plunge pool were great when it was hot, even hats were provided. Help was given taking cases to and from room. Definitely would recommend
Cons: Just a couple of points that might help other elderly guests (we're nearly 80) - shower floor very slippery & no hand rail on stairs. A sheet instead of a duvet might be nice (perhaps provided when it's very hot).

Perfecte rust in de Riad die heel goed gelegen is om de Medina te bezoeken. Uiterst vriendelijk personeel, lekker ontbijt. Het was totaal geen probleem om vroeger te ontbijten op de dag van ons vertrek, alles werd vroeger geserveerd voor ons. Ruime kamers. Shuttle-service van en naar de luchthaven (betalend) was in orde.

Marwan and the other staff were amazing, incredibly welcoming and friendly and also very happy to help in any they could. Couldn't have asked for a more convenient location - really easy to get around from there and also really easy to get a taxi. The Riad was lovely, breakfasts huge and tasty. It was very quiet and relaxing.

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist einfach perfekt – zentral und dennoch angenehm ruhig. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl, auch weil die Gegend sehr sicher ist. Alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar, was den Aufenthalt besonders entspannt macht. Das Frühstück war äußerst lecker und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Besonders hervorzuheben ist auch das selbstgemachte Abendessen – wirklich ein Genuss! Das Personal war durchweg freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Insgesamt eine rundum gelungene Unterkunft mit Top-Lage – absolut empfehlenswert!

Easily accessible, just 2min walk from the nearest drop point and signs on the way leading you to the right direction. I was very warmly welcomed by Marouana and Mohammed. They took time to give me tips and both were super nice and friendly! Really the heart of the place. Room was as seen in pictures. The lobby is very pretty for enjoying mint tee. Breakfast was plenty enough and I was provided that even when I checked out a couple of hours before the official breakfast time, I really appreciated that.

This riad is an absolute gem and a true recommendation! Perfectly located on the edge of the Medina, with everything within easy walking distance. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed, the rooms are spotless, and the staff are simply amazing. Every morning started with a delicious homemade breakfast full of Moroccan specialties (we completely fell in love with the Amlou 😍). Marwan and the rest of the team truly go above and beyond to help with anything you need. It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were always happy to make a quick call for us, for example to arrange a restaurant reservation. But also thanks for the unexpected homemade cookies and great laughs! 😂😂 We felt incredibly welcome during our stay. It really felt like a home away from home in Contessa Marrakech ✨🙏🏻

Très bien placé, au calme dans la Medina et à proximité des souks, Personnel très accueillant et bienveillant, décoration et état du riad remarquables, petit déjeuner très copieux et délicieux, service repas du soir traditionnel exquis, Découverte du Hamam du riad (Payant) avec un massage gommage convaincant dans une ambiance bienveillante trés agréable grâce à l'équipe. Marouane l'homme qui gère l'organisation partage les bons plans à voir ou à manger avec des conseils et de la pédagogie sur nos interrogations.
Cons: L'ambiance et l'architecture d'un riad se crée autour d'un patio pas toujours calme pour faire la grasse matinée, suivant les autres clients plus ou moins discrets. Le matelas king'sise un peu mou si l'on pèse plus de 90 kg.

We fell in love with this place. It was the 1st stop in our honeymoon and the most memorable! since the moment we stepped in, we were first welcomed by Marowan’s warm smile. He made us feel that we are part of the family. Him and all the other staff were very warm welcoming. They are all generous, giving & kind. True Moroccan spirits. The room was beautifully designed & clean. Breakfast is yum! Ask for their amazing green tea as much as possible because you’ll miss it when you’re gone😂 The location is about 3 minutes walk to the main road. It was scary at first especially at night but once you are use to it you find out you’re just unfamiliar with the place and it’s actually safe.

Praticamente de tudo. A equipa é extraordinária, e existe um cuidado enorme com os hóspedes. O ambiente é bastante acolhedor e familiar. A localização é de muito fácil acesso, e o ponto mais próximo de táxi fica a 2 minutos a pé numa zona bastante iluminada. É raro fazer reviews de estadias, mas este é mais do que merecido.

Absolutely loved this place! Perfect location in a quiet part of the medina, just a short walk from the main square and souks. The riad itself is absolutely beautiful and very authentic, our room was spotless and decorated very nicely. It is a very peaceful riad with only a few rooms, it was lovely and quiet. We were treated so well during our stay - Marouane was the best host and was so genuinely kind and welcoming. He met us where the taxi dropped us off and sorted some mint tea for our arrival! He gave us a map and offered some great recommendations for our time there and always chatted to us and asked about our day. The breakfast was amazing value for money and the staff who prepared and served it were very friendly. Would 100% recommend this to anyone wanting an authentic stay in Marrakech. We really hope to be back some day! :)

This is a lovely quiet Riad tucked away in a quiet corner of Marrakesh but within easy walking distance of all the sights in the centre of the city. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Rooms are spacious & comfortable and are beautifully decorated. A lovely fresh breakfast was served every morning. It has a lovely roof terrace too. I would highly recommend.

The location is exceptional, within walking distance to all main sites. Excellent service from all staff, especially Marouane, we felt very welcomed and they helped us with our luggage which we would otherwise struggle in the old town. The hotel itself was beautiful designed and well maintained. It was a very comfortable stay.

Wir wurden von Marouane herzlichst mit Minztee begrüßt. er hat uns viele hilfreiche Tipps gegeben. das Frühstücka uf der Dachterrasse war abwechslungsreich und köstlich. Einmal haben wir im Hotel gegessen, es wurde extra für uns gekocht und liebevoll serviert. Das Pool am Dach, die Katzen, die Freundlichkeit und die Sauberkeit des Hotels waren ausergewöhnlich. wir haben uns wirklich wohl gefühlt und dadurch war der Aufenthalt in Marrakesch wirklich auch ein Highlight. Bei der Abfahrt war uns Jussuf sehr behilflich. insgesamt ein wunderbares Haus. Danke für die liebevolle Betreuung

Аз и семейството ми останахме много доволни от престоя си, персоналът беше изключително любезен и ни даде ценни съвети за нашите разходки из града. Закуската беше прясно приготвена и разнообразна, сервира се на приятната тераса на покрива. Басейнът е приятен бонус в случай, че искаш да си починеш след измерителен ден в градската лудница. The area feels very safe, and the riad itself is beautifully decorated and well maintained. The team, especially Youssef and Marwan, were super friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Cons: There are no amenities like a TV or coffee machine in the room, but actually that added to the charm, it felt more authentic and kept the traditional riad atmosphere.

Staff went above and beyond with communication, assisting with luggage and oversized surf boards and even arranging to have an item we left in our rental car delivered to us and arranging for airport transport at 4 in the morning. The breakfast was very yummy. Riad was easy enough to find and quiet enough. Room was spacious, water in shower was hot and good pressure. Staff was incredibly friendly and kind.
Cons: Room lights were plentiful but not very bright, though that isn't a big deal. We thought that the room description stated there were TVs in rooms or on site but no TV was available at all. Not a big deal but something we typically like to have.

Beautiful riad. We visited other riads in Marrakech, but Riad Contessa was the one we liked best. We were welcomed kindly by the staff, who gave us useful advice. The room was large, spotlessly clean and incredibly well decorated. Excellent and plentiful breakfast on the terrace in the morning. We will definitely be back.

Everything about this riad exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help. The breakfast was delicious, freshly prepared every morning. My room was beautifully decorated, spotless, with every service, and full of Moroccan charm. The rooftop terrace with the pool was a true oasis, to relax after exploring the streets of Marrakech. The location was just a few minutes’ walk from the main attractions, but also quiet to enjoy real tranquility at night. I can’t recommend this riad highly enough. I’ll definitely come back!

The Riad Contessa was a paradise/ perfect haven, located right in the centre of the wonderful chaos of Marrakesh. The location was perfect for a short city break, close to all the major sights. The Riad was perfectly clean, the interiors were designed and styled with class. It had everything we wanted and felt really luxurious. The rooms and bathrooms were comfortable and felt high end. The bed and pillows were perfect and we slept brilliantly every night. The breakfast was really lovely and we enjoyed every morning eating the delicious treats up on the Riad roof terrace. Just a wonderful as the Riad itself was the warming welcome and charm of the Staff. Right from check in, to the moment we checked out they were friendly and made us feel like friends. Youssef was delightful and we enjoyed our chats each morning and evening. He even helped us with problems with our phones, which we really appreciated. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying at Riad Contessa and I hope if we ever come back to Marrakesh, to stay at this wonderful place again in the future.

This was one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in. It's even more stunning than the photos, so well cared for, so clean. The staff are extremely helpful and welcoming - both Marouane and Yousef could not have been nicer. On arrival the mint tea and biscuits are a lovely welcome, and breakfast everyday is fresh and delicious. Our room, Contessa suite, was stunning. The location is excellent - well located to walk to all the key sights but just away from the chaos of the souks. The plunge pool offers a pleasant 'cool off' after a busy day. I cannot recommend this riad highly enough. I hope to return - th you to all the staff!

The accomodation was perfect for our stay. Located just a short stroll away to the markets and the attractions everything was pretty much walkable distance. Some really nice restaurants nearby which was super convenient too. The staff are very knowledgable and go above and beyond on every request. We waren veel te vroeg ivm een vroege vlucht. Maar onze kamer was al klaar. Host Marwan heeft ons gelijk een hele fijne uitleg gegeven van alle attracties, de wegen en wat gebruiken. Fijn om je op die manier gelijk thuis te voelen. Het ontbijt was heerlijk en de kamer schoon. We hebben ook gebruik gemaakt van de hammam, een hele ervaring. Al met al was het een een goede accommodatie, bedankt Marwan, Youssef en Youssef, en de dames van het ontbijt en schoonmaak.

This riad is well located just outside the city walls and close to the taxi rank and restaurants. The property is lovely - clean, well kept, nice small pool, excellent fresh breakfast and really, really nice and helpful staff. The room has a safe, AC, fridge (with water every day) and good wi-fi. We had a great stay (3 nights) and would happily return.

Hotel położony w spokojnej części medyny, ale też blisko do głównych atrakcji miasta. Hotel jest ładnie urządzony. Nasz pokój był bardzo przestronny i pięknie zdobiony w stylu marokańskim. Duży basen i strefa wypoczynkowa na dachu budynku zapewniała relaks po całym dniu zwiedzania. Śniadania smaczne, podawane również na tarasie na dachu.
Cons: Personel hotelu był dosyć zaskoczony naszym przybyciem i nie był stanie zamówić dla nas taksówkę w normalnej cenie. W pokoju nie było wody filtrowanej i musieliśmy sami kupować na bieżąco butelkowaną.

Staying at this riad was an absolutely magical experience – we truly felt like we were living in a fairy tale. Our apartment was so beautiful that even the famous Medersa Ben Youssef seemed less impressive afterwards. It felt like a true work of art, with every detail carefully crafted. The location is excellent – close to all the main attractions, yet offering peace and quiet for proper rest and relaxation. The food was outstanding, without a doubt one of the best we had during our entire trip. The rooftop was a highlight – perfect for unwinding, with a small pool to cool off and comfortable loungers for lazy afternoons in the sun.

When we arrived at Riad Contessa we were warmly welcomed by Marouane. Delicious cookies and mint tea were served. The atmosphere of the Riad is very cultural and traditional. Every corner of the hotel is filled with Marrakech motifs and traditional handicrafts. We loved our stay with a fantastic location. We enjoyed our holiday and felt at home. Delicious breakfast was served. The rooms of the Riad were decorated very historically and there was a quality comfortable bed. The rooms were cleaned daily. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The Riad is very central and only a few minutes away from Marrakech's souks. Marouane and Youssef guided us to the historical sites and the best places to eat. A special thank you to Marouane for the good advice on the tips especially for our day trip to Essaouira. If you want to stay close to everything then Riad Contessa is the right place. On arrival the lovely host Marouane served us mint tea and homemade biscuits, he then sat down and gave us some recommendations for our stay in Marrakech. At night we met the lovely Youssef who went above and beyond. Both Marouane and Youssef gave us the best welcome we have ever received. During our stay they were always there to help and nothing was ever too much. The riad was spotless, felt very homely and was a lovely relaxing place away from the chaos of the city centre. The pool was nice and the breakfast delicious!

Wow! The photos don’t do this place justice! It’s stunning and to such a standard! We absolutely loved our long weekend here! The staff were amazing and so friendly and caring, especially Youssef! I go was just such a lovely person. We loved how close to the centre this Road was but also how quiet it was, have the rooftop pool was great after walking around the souks all day. We had a traditional meal the last day by Road Contessa’s cooks and it was incredible having authentic home cooked Moroccan food on the terrace. We are already wanting to come back.

Marouane, Youssef and Asmaa were always super friendly and showed great hospitality. Definitely they all made us feel like we were at home! Also, the breakfast is really good, with typical marrocan dishes. And we had dinner once and they prepared us a chicken tagine really delicious. We had an issue withdrawing cash (major promblem, since cash is king in Marrakech) but property manager worked with us to help arrange electronic money transfers so that we could still take part in our planned experiences.

The Riad Is beautiful and super clean. The beds are comfortable and the room is spacious. Beautiful rooftop and little pool. The manager Marouane and all the staff were beyond helpful. The location is perfect to access the medina souks and restaurants. The breakfast was much better than any 5 star buffet and everything is prepared at the moment, they are happy to adjust to any personal preference. We will definitely go back and recommend.

This place is so peaceful! It specializes in beautiful details and great service. It's like a wonderful Moroccan retreat - no TVs, great lighting, nice breakfast and a breathtaking rooftop with small pool. It's a very short walk to the main Medina market and even has its own side market in case the tourist one is overwhelming. Our host was exceedingly helpful, from his tour of the Marrakesh city map to setting up our airport transfer, plus helping us arrange a cooking class with local chefs! Everything there was true to the photos as well.
Cons: My suggestion: Don't come here to party or with lots of children. I found it lovely but some people may not like the quiet atmosphere. There are no televisions and noise will echo so my group made quiet hours.

The Riad Contessa is a jewel of a hotel that looks like it has been there for hundreds of years. The beautiful style that the exquisite finishes and design create a sense that you’ve stepped back into the past. The decor is more than satisfactory for a sultan and you will feel like a visiting dignitary….just don’t get too carried away. Attention to detail is top rate, and so is the great staff. Breakfast is very nice, the bathroom clean and creative, and my bedroom had a comfortable bed and a sofa. WiFi was good and there was adequate lighting. The pictures don’t do it justice. There are also 2 resident cats which is not unusual for Marrakech as there are healthy street cats most everywhere in the Medina. Contessa is in a great neighborhood, easy to find your way back to, and there are a lot of excellent restaurants a short walk away.
Cons: I would have liked a thinner pillow but I didn’t ask so….i also would have enjoyed a kettle in the room.

Marouan recommend Hammam, restaurants, and other sight seeing points during our stay . Also breakfast is great and they even accommodated for our vegetarian diet . Great place to stay to experience Marrakech.

Rooms were really spacious and spotlessly clean room and bathroom. The roof top terrace and plunge pool were perfect for chilling out in the afternoon. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful, freshly made every morning. The staff couldn’t do enough to help, sorting airport transfers, arranging pool days at nearby hotels, recommending restaurants or making sure we had cold beers when we asked. Special shout out to Yousef and Maruan who were brilliant, really friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. This is a really great place to stay!

Breakfast was simple but so tasty and fresh. Yoghurt, Bread, Juice, Coffee or tea. With eggs as well as another option - we had pancakes and crepes during our stay.
Cons: Our Host Marouan was amazing and could not have done more for us. He spoke excellent and English and was always contactable. He was not around on our last evening/morning of travel and the guy covering although lovely spoke very little English and just not as knowledgeable. I think we had just been spoilt. We had a fabulous stay.

The first day the guy at the reception, Samout Youssef, was the best person to have around, he helped us to find an ATM to withdraw some money and also to eat something after a bad day in the airport. He was the best during the whole vacation, a very good person.

Beautiful Riad, the room was large and clean, the staff was really kind, I had dinner at the riad, everything was very good. The breakfast was excellent. It is located near the taxis but in the center of the Medina. I recommend it to those who want to have a wonderful experience in Marrackech

Riad Contessa was the perfect stay, beautiful and intimate place and hosting was excellent. Maurouane was so attentive and helpful at all times. Breakfast on rooftop each morning was stunning and the pool a delight. Great location, quiet and just around the corner from the main areas. I would definitely come back. Thank you all for an amazing stay!

- Nice atmospheric riad near Dar el Bacha - The manager (Mansour I believe) is very helpful and forthcoming - The design of the courtyard and the rooms is very stylish - Due to its location at a dead end street the area is quiet
Cons: - Hotel rules are rigid and some staff are not very flexible (ie. we asked for an iron and were told that they did not provide this service. Instead we could used pressing service - which was not helpful though as we just needed to iron out some smaller wrinkles. Or I got a "this is not what you told me the day before" as an answer when politely asking if I could take away breakfast for a tour which started early in the morning) - The breakfast lacks variety and fruit - The room curtains are transparent. Due to the light emissions from the courtyard and rooftop our room was too bright during the night

Absolutely loved my stay here. The location is perfect, breakfast is amazing and my room was so beautiful I sometimes didn’t want to leave it. All the staff are super friendly and relaxed. I will certainly return and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Everything about this Riad was amazing. We stayed in Contessa suite which is the main suite and we could not have been any more happier. We felt like we were royalties every little details. The carvings in the wall were out of this world. The staff was beyond any other staff I’ve seen at other places.

We had such a wonderful experience in Marrakech and much of it was due to the attentiveness and kindness of the Riad Contessa staff. Our experiences at Riad Contessa were amazing - from our first day at Riad Contessa when Maroune came in to work especially during Eid to orient us the Medina all the way to our last day when Asmaa made arrangements for us come back to the Riad after we checked out so we had a quiet cool place to be before our late night departure. We did not have one bad experience during our time in Morocco and will be recommending Riad Contessa to any friends who make the trek to Marrakech.

The place looks nice and is in a good location although the streets to get here are very run down and smelly.
Cons: I paid extra to get a Superior room which had a sofa bed along with the main double bed because my son said he might could join us. He did come with us but Contessa insisted on charging for an extra person in room despite the fact that he was using the sofa bed. I found this very unprofessional. The weather is very hot and there is no swimming pool here so I recommend getting a place with a pool.

Beautiful riad in the heart of the medina near 10 minutes from jamal el fnaa square. welcoming and relaxing, I had already had other experiences in riads in Marrakech but the Riad Contessa went beyond my expectations. Cleanliness everywhere, excellent Moroccan dinner and breakfast on the terrace. Thanks to all the staff and in particular to Asmaa and Marouan.

The staff from the moment we walked in was very attentive. The property manager Marouan was super friendly, since it was our first time in Marrakech, he explained in detail how everything worked, and gave us amazing recommendations. We will definitely return to Riad Contessa on the next visit.

Riad Contessa offers very beautiful rooms in a great location. We had the large family room which was superbly decorated & well adapted for 3 to 4 family members. The breakfasts on the rooftop were lovely. Most importantly, Marwan, the manager on site, truly cared for his guests & made our stay very comfortable. Thank you.

Beautiful riad that was reformed just 10 months ago. All spotless clean and new. Nice decoration. Our contact person (Marouane) was extremely nice and helpful. Great location: quiet but still close to the busy hubs.
Cons: Sometimes the rooms felt a little claustrophobic because there are no exterior windows in the rooms. But that’s the architecture of all Ryads and what keeps them so fresh in the summer, so basically something to know before you choose one. Tea /coffee in the rooms would have been a nice touch.

Stunning! This is a hidden gem. I have stayed and explored countless Riad in Marrakech, from expensive to cheap, modern and old. This place is stunning. Beautifully traditional and authentic. The rooms are magnificent. The food excellent. The service top notch. When we arrived, we were greeted with tea and ‘welcome, this is now your home!’ And the price is remarkable. I have stayed in places three, four, five times the price of here and they did not come close. This is now my favourite Riad in Marrakech. Highly, highly recommended.

Quiet, clean, and tidy; we stayed in the Suite Contessa, which has a history of over 100 years. The carved walls are fantastic, making it feel like living in a museum, truly great value; the shower water is hot, and there's a wall-mounted heater, very convenient; the toilet and bathroom are separate, which is particularly good; our suite has a courtyard with beautifully carved wooden decorations overhead, excellent lighting design, two large sofas that are extremely comfortable; the living room and bedroom are also carpeted, with an overall elegant style, we really like it.
Cons: breakfast，if add some fresh fruits and vegetables will be wonderful. And the swimming pool is just under planning, it will be great if the Riad had one

We really loved our stay in Riad Contessa! It is situated in a great location in the heart of Marrakesh. It has a charming atmosphere and refined furniture. The rooms are so beautiful, peaceful and clean and the beds are really comfortable. The staff is very welcoming, we really felt at home. The breakfast is delicious and varied. Something I won't forget is the amazing terrace and its view. I absolutely recommend Riad Contessa which has stolen our heart!

The Riad Contessa is beautiful, my room was large and clean. I arrived by taxi near the door of the Riad, I had dinner at the riad and I found 5 star service and quality. The Riad is located in the center of the Medina a few minutes walk from Jamal El Fnaa square. It was an exceptional experience thank you Asmaa for making us feel at home.

Magnificent Riad, truly fascinating with a beautiful chandelier that makes the evening magical. The very professional staff made our holiday perfect. The Riad Contessa is located in the heart of the Medina but we arrived by taxi almost at the door of the Riad. The neighborhood is clean and safe, we are a few meters from the royal palace. We had truly delicious traditional Moroccan dishes for dinner at the riad. I will definitely return to this wonderful riad, thank you Asmaa and Marwan for your kindness and courtesy.

Such a lovely place! Incredibly quiet location in the heart of the old city. The Riad Contessa is magnificent, with an amazing terrace and wonderful rooms decorated with respect to the traditions. Staff is lovely, friendly and respectful. Their beakfasts and dinners are delicious. I loved this place, as it felt like an absolute oasis , where we could relax after a long day.
