This riad is in a great location to explore the city, the markets are really close by. You can easily get a taxi to drop you very close which is handy when you have luggage. The Staff were lovely and super helpful with everything! Zak explained where is good to go in the city and he was always ready to help with anything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and fresh every morning. We stayed in the apartment on the rooftop which had an amazing bathroom with huge plants inside, it was so pretty! Beds were super comfortable. You can walk straight out onto the rooftop and watch the sunrise and sunset over the city, it’s beautiful to see. We had an excellent stay, thank you very much! I would definitely recommend!

Title: A Wonderful Stay with Friends in Marrakesh We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful riad in Marrakesh! Everything was perfect from start to finish. The service was excellent — Zacarias was incredibly kind and helpful, giving us great tips about the best places to visit in the neighborhood. Onorine and Jamila took wonderful care of our room and prepared a delicious breakfast every morning — everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Rita, our host, was simply amazing — warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The riad itself was peaceful, clean, and full of charm — a perfect place to relax after exploring the busy streets of Marrakesh. If I could suggest just one small thing for the future, it would be to add scrambled eggs to the breakfast — that would make it absolutely perfect! Thank you to the whole team for such a lovely experience. I would definitely recommend this riad to anyone visiting Marrakesh!

Perfect location in the old Medina near to Bahia Palace. Couldn’t rate the staff highly enough Madgie was a gem who was so helpful (even ran down the road to buy us tonic lime and ice 😍) he was always there doing something or helping someone 😍 What’s an asset Jemima is in the kitchen her cooking is so delicious, the breakfasts were lovely and her tagline to die for. Zach was really helpful with places to visit and advice for dinners and the best price we should pay for goods we wanted to buy. Ghitta was great with the correspondence. Wonderful staff

Cons: Beds were too hard and pillows to small and soft

The staff Zak and Abdul have been really helpful and accommodating to us, alongside the manager. They offered free Moroccan tea, not only as welcome but also during our whole stay. We could check in earlier as the room was luckily free and already ready when we arrived. They also assisted us in booking a taxi because we had to leave at 3am to the airport. The breakfast was good. There was a small misunderstanding about the payment method - with card payments there’s a 5% fee on top of the price shown in Booking.com, we didn’t choose this, instead we opted for cash payment in local currency, which was even more expensive because they said their property has their own exchange rates which were higher but we didn’t understand this and we told them we would only pay according to the current rate, and they eventually agreed to it. It’s better to have enough cash in Euros.

Cons: Noises from the courtyard can be easily heard from the room on the ground floor. Bed mattress was hard

Although a little shabby, the Riad communal area was pretty. I stayed in the most expensive suite on the terrace and it was a good size with a big double bed. The roof top terrace was also very pleasant

Cons: I was there for 3 days. For the entire time I was unable to have a bath ( not allowed) but the shower and sink did not work ! The shower was a pretty useless hand held ( not acceptable for an expensive suite). The sink was blocked but worse than that, the water pressure was broken. It went from boiling hot to freezing cold. So hot it burnt. Firstly I was told it was ‘fine’ as the previous people said nothing (?). Then she admitted it was a problem and called a plumber out. I asked her 2 or 3 times how I was supposed to wash. She gave me no alternative and not one apology ! Finally, apart from 1 day, when we had some strawberries, breakfast was lacking in choice. Same sweet, shop bought strawberry jam with bread and a piece of cake. No granola/ seeds/ yoghurt or fresh fruit and coffee really weak. I was also presented, on last evening , for a full bill to pay, even though the money had been taken out of my bank account 6 days earlier! They would not believe me even though I showed them the ‘thanks , your payment has been received ‘ from booking.com. They insisted I show them my bank account as proof! I feel they should have contacted booking.com rather than make me feel I was cheating. I really feel I should get a discount for not having a shower or bath for 3 days 🙁

Lovely place in a quiet part of the old city but very close to some of the main sites of Marrakesh, particularly the Bahia palace. A quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle of car horns and motorbikes. Very friendly staff and we had an excellent Hammam and massage here as a couple. We strongly reccomend the place. It is good value for money.

Location wise close to all the attractions and the Jemaah Al Fna. Great Hammam experience and beautiful building. We were greeted by Zac on the first day very friendly and helped us plan some sight seeing. Fatema was great with our Hamman and Spa experience. Cleanliness is average rooms are cleaned daily. Bins are emptied and soap replenished. Our towels were mixed up and we had to ask for fresh ones. The shower pressure was intermittent and the water temperature kept changing. Using the hose was like wrestling a python. I was too short for the shower holder and it was not adjustable.

Cons: We booked our stay for 3 nights through booking.com and were fully paid up. A light continental breakfast was provided but you felt that you had to go and have brunch to fill you up. On that basis we decided not to dine in on our second night. On night two I was given an invoice for the payment of our Hammam and room booking. I showed them the receipt and booking payment proof from my emails. The approach of Abdou that evening was aggressive and I explained that I have paid again showing the bank payment leaving my account and saying in a calm manner that it must be delay from booking.com My friends and I were disappointed by this and made our stay less enjoyable. We offered to pay for the spa on the day but was told not to worry. On the morning of our third day Abdou was very friendly, but we felt that this was a front to get us to give a good review. This whole experience spoilt our experience. I asked for payment options before arrival as they asked for payment in Euros. We were not prepared to carry around two currencies so happy to pay by card and the 5% commission. If you prefer cash then say it before the arrival of the guests so we can be better prepared.

The rooms were not bad. Although, in my opinion, it is absolutely not worth that kind of money.

Cons: The owner periodically looked like he was either drunk or on light drugs. We asked him to call a taxi to the airport at 5 am. And in the morning we discover that he hasn't call anybody and has slept in a room on the second floor. So, we had to urgently solve these issues ourselves.

Beautiful riad in Old Jewish Quarter. Truly a gem of a find - best describe it as an oasis form the hustle/bustle of Old Town Marrakech. Everything about the bedroom and atrium was fantastic - authentic, comfortable, relaxing. The staff and owner could not be more helpful and kind. Would definitely stay here again if ever back in Marrakesh,

Cons: Location was v good for Old Town access but comes with challenge of getting to/ from along narrow street with crazy city traffic - great care required.

Cons: Only one issue is what was otherwise a very pleasant stay - 3 nights overall. The phone of one of the staff was left charging on a table right outside my room and when I was trying to rest from 2 long haul flights, it kept beeping as messages came in. Was most annoying. She should leave her phone in the kitchen or somewhere else where guests cannot hear it. A small issue but at the time, it disturbed me.

During my three weeks in Marrakech I used Dar Crystal as base to return to from trips through the country. In total I booked three stays with the riad, and I did not regret this. The location of Dar Crystal is very practical and in walking distance to the main attractions and good restaurants. Ghita is an extremely attentive host. Thank you very much

It is beautiful, it felt traditional but homey and still had modern amenities. It felt like we are in a movie. The environment was better than we expected and exceeded expectations. We loved the staff, especially Zak who helped us and went above and beyond with kindness and making us feel welcome. During the trip my partner felt abit sick and Zak helped him with advice and tea to help, we needed help with locations and also our plane tickets and he helped with that too! Breakfast was immaculate, so fresh and tasty with a variety to choose from. Compliments to the chef and all the other staff. If we go back to Marrakech, we will be coming back, there is no better place for us. I would recommend this to anyone in a heartbeat. The rooms were clean and were Moroccan and the design was beautiful and unique. We loved the experience and only wish we could have stayed longer. (Note : Dont expect the pool to be super warm, and it is abit easier to find during the day. You would want to go to Bahia palace and walk the rest of the way there on foot)

This riad us looked after with care, and provides an authentic, comfortable, peaceful environment, with trees, plants and many small birds enjoying the pleasures of the green plants, even nesting in the courtyard. Cons: You should look into other options if you get the room on the ground floor. There is little privacy for you if you are with your partner. Everyone can hear each other's conversations in the kitchen and living area. If you're trying to leave your room, one of the dining tables is directly in front of you, which may be inconvenient. Moreover, the contact number on Booking.com doesn't work, and you will have a hard time reaching the place if you are following the maps.

Very nice place very, central with super Sunny rooftop breakfast or Chillout place. Lovely room and breakfast with very friendly staff that helps you a lot when planning your trip in Marrakesch.

Cons: I guess we had the smallest and most uncomfortable room right next to the entrance without window which was okay for two days, also the very hard and crooked bed is not suited for longer stays. I guess you could easily make it even and put a new mattress. But that's really the only issue, the rest was perfect

Friendly, clean, beautiful. Gorgeous layout, with an oasis in the middle of the building and a sun terrace on the roof. Great location (if you don’t mind wiggling through the alleyways). Fabulous breakfast.

All the staff was super nice and helpful! The breakfast is very simple but exactly what we needed! The location is right next to the Bahia Palace, 10 minute walk from the main square.

Cons: Our room wasn’t soundproof at all. We felt like everyone could hear anything we said and we could also hear everything that was happening in the main hall (altough it was very quiet most of the times)

Dar Crystal was a beautiful riad in the Marrakech medina. The location is excellent; short distances by walking everywhere, but still a quiet place in the night. Our room was beautiful and cosy. The best thing was staff; Zak and Mehdi were friendly and Zak especially gave us a lot of information and advice regarding where to visit, how to go there and how much should we pay for things. The warm breakfast was cooked and served to us the time we wanted (between 8-10). We can warmly recommend Dar Crystal!

The location is very good. Close to Bahia palace and the Djema el Fnaa is less than 10min walk away. The Dar is beautiful, the courtyard is very well set. The terrace is a nice place to chill in the evenings. At the check in we were greeted Mehdi, a very kind and competent guy. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and settle. He shared us the map for Marrakesh Medina and gave us some helpful hints. He also gave us his contact number to contact if needed. He prepared for us fruits for the day we had to leave early for a tour. It was a very pleasant experience for us.

Cons: Our room was a bit tiny for the price. There was very little space to move around.

This was sweet and blissful stay! The Riad is located down a quiet side street at the mouth of the Medina, near the Jewish quarter and nestled between the Bahia and Badi palaces, which made the location feel a wonderful secret yet central. It also sits at the start to streets that lead up to the Medina, so you are near to everything you need to visit and explore. The interior is beautiful; like all Riads, the magic is on the inside, behind old wooden doors that you wouldn't think housed such an oasis. Inside here were cool white pillars, a plunge pool, an open atrium, and in the centre an old palm tree as tall as the building, proving this Riad's authenticity (whilst providing homes to the birds that great you with a dawn chorus on sunrise). They have a superb terrace from which you can see the Atlas Mountains and across the city. The room was comfortable and I slept well. The staff, Zaq and Mahdi, were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I initially had trouble finding the street, yet Mahdi kindly ventured out to collect me. They later helped with orienteering, pointing out where to go on the map, explaining the history of the area, best places to eat, so you wouldn't need a guide book. They also took care of my luggage so I could explore the city before a late flight, post check-out. I only stayed for one night, and it was hard to leave.. The memory of watching the sun rise from their perfect terrace is one of the best memories from my trip to Marrakesh. I will definitely return, to the city and to this Riad.

Cons: Worth downloading maps.me (which works without wifi / data but uses your location - lesson learned) to help find the Riad as it's not a street a taxi can pull up in front of, so the last few metres need to be on foot.

Dark Cristal is beautifully decorated, it's patio is astonishing!. Such a stylish place :). It's staff were welcoming, helpful and true professionals who enjoy their job. Mahdi was such an attentive staff who looked after us taking care of every detail. We really appreciated Mahdi's recommendations, good manners and sense of humour. We'll definitely visit Mahdi in our next trip to Marrakesh. Thanks Mahdi! A real pleasure meeting you !!

Cons: Our room was facing the patio which made it a bit noisy. Also, we had to keep windows closed when we wanted privacy because the windows were facing the patio were other guests were sitting. The bed was too hard, it wasn't very comfortable.

The Riad was very nice, near all the attractions but in a quite zone. It is a kind of peace oasis in the caos of the city. In the night the street to arrive to the riad could seem a little bit scaring but I think that it is something very common in Marrakech, anyway we didn't have any problem. Mahdi the host is a fantastic person, always ready to help you, and he is a plus to the place. Breakfast is very very nice. I recommend this riad to everyone that want to pass some nights in Marrakech

Cons: The beds are a little bit hard but it is something very common in all the country, we found the same kind of beds in every hotel.

We stayed at Dar Crystal for 3 nights for a long weekend trip to Marrakesh for the first time. Wow, what a Service! If a host can be awarded, Zak deserves the golden medal! He was extremely caring to each and everyone, always a smile on his face and with him everything is possible! He is the heart of this place! I could go on and on about his service tbh ... About the place now, perfect location, right next to Bahia Palace and out of the craziness! It felt so good to go back into the Riad after hours and hours of walking in Marrakech where it can be quite overwhelming. The place was always spotless amd welcoming.

Cons: The only down side here for us would be the pool... it would have been nice to have it a bit warmer (maybe something to consider?), 15degres was way too cold for us. Such a shame to not be able to enjoy it fully! Other than that it was perfect!

I liked everything about this place. The staff were so friendly and hospitable. They truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Zac would do anything to help his guests and is a fountain of knowledge when it comes Marrakech. Case in point on the first night, after arriving late, I accidentally left one of my bags in the taxi, Zac and I jumped on his moped and he rode across town to track down the taxi and recover my bag, I tried to pay him for his time and fuel but he refused any money claiming that I am his guest and it was the least he could do, this was not an isolated incident, unfortunately my girlfriend got very ill whilst on our trip. Zac immediately helped us find a suitable hospital and on his day off he volunteered his time to help us further, he came back to the riad and went out to find a pharmacy to collect her prescription (this was a Sunday so lots of pharmacies were closed). He spent his afternoon driving across town to find an open pharmacy and collect the prescription. I cannot thank him enough for all his help. Unsurprisingly the other staff in the riad are attentive and helpful, Annis keeps vigil over the front door and will answer day or night, he also helps prepare all of the breakfasts which are delicious. Jameela is a fantastic cook and she and her cleaning team keep the rooms absolutely spotless. The riad itself is beautiful and is an oasis of calm in all of the craziness of Marrakech itself. However manic things were outside of the riad it was always a great pleasure to return to our Riad after a long day. It would be calm and cool and welcoming. It always felt safe and secure. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. The WiFi is high speed and available throughout the Riad. Honestly I could speak positively about Dar Crystal for some time, there are several more stories I could recount about Zac and his team.

Cons: The location is slightly difficult to find when you first arrive. We didn't book a taxi in advance. My advice for when you arrive is to speak with Zac in advance and let him organise an airport pickup. In future once you have learnt the location you can get a taxi to Bahia palace and walk to the riad. Additionally it is worth noting that the WiFi does not reach the roof terrace. It only reaches the rooms on the ground floor and the first floor.

The customer service was really great. Zakaria and Anas have helped me and my cousin throughout our stay in Marrakesh. They've always treated us like family and recommended good food places and information on touristic places. The terrace had a great view of the Atlas mountains and had beautiful decorations. The riad was always quiet and calm. The Spa was great too.

Its a beautiful riad with a nice garden and a great rooftop. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. The hosts are very kind and helpful and always around, they always have great mint tea ready and have helped us with recommendations and things like airport transfer. Its also a little more outside of the Medina so the area doesn't feel overwhelming or you don't have to worry about getting bothered on your way at night.

Cons: The mattresses were a little hard for my taste, but it didn't ruin the experience. The pool looks lovely but it almost feels more like its there for decoration, I just felt a bit weird taking a dip while the hosts sit around in the garden all day.

Just outside the Medina wall means it’s easier to find! 100dh for a taxi from the train to Bahia palace + 4 minute walk with google maps. My husband got mostly hot water for his shower, but I only got warmish. Our room was at the front which gets street noise at night and early in the morning. But that’s likely the case with all Riads on narrow alleyways. We found the platform bed awkward to access

Fantastic hospitality - staff were brilliant and prepared to satisfy all our requests. The hotel is quaint but very comfortable - look past the few missing tiles and a couple of almost manufactured cracks, it is original. The location can be a bit noisy - but you're in the Medina and experiencing what a traditional neighbourhood feels like. The bed was surprisingly comfortable although it felt hard at first - the room very comfortable with the sitcom / heater. Will definitely revisit this hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights in February. The room we had booked was not available, we were given a ground floor room for the first night and offered the suite on the top floor for the second. This offer was made several times, but we couldn't face packing and unpacking for one night. It was also cold when we visited, and the suite on the top floor was quite exposed. There were two issues with the ground floor room. The first was a platform bed that was difficult to get in and out of. The second was that it was necessary to have the door open on to the courtyard as there was no window. Unfortunately this meant that the room was filled with cigarette smoke when people were smoking in the courtyard. This gave us sore throats and we came back with our clothes smelling of smoke.

and a small sign at the door, but opening the door, the interior courtyard is beautiful. If you ask Abdul at the spice store near Bahia Palace, he will tell you the alley way turns. The room and bath were very modern and comfortable. The evening staff person did not speak English, but he worked very hard to provide good service. I would definitely stay there again. Although the alley way route was formidable at first, I (an older single woman) felt very safe in the medina.
