Staff was great. The porters in particular were exceptional (gentleman with the beard deserves a double exceptional). Breakfast was great, so too, the hammom. The staff was wonderful and it made for a great experience. Highly recommended

Cons: The only issue was a stuck pop up drain which disabled one of our sinks during our stay. The staff fixed it once but it stuck again almost immediately.

Beautiful Riad with an amazing garden. The room was on the main level. It was spacious with a soaring ceiling and an amazing bathroom.

Cons: The green room specifically is located under the stairs everyone takes to access the upstairs rooms and rooftop terrace. The noise of people on the stairs echoes loudly through the room.

This was possibly the most beautiful Riad that we stayed in across our three weeks in Morocco. The central courtyard was stunning - including the resident turtles - and our room was equally impressive. Although I would admit we stayed in probably the most expensive suite in the hotel (the Terrace Suite). The restaurant on the roof was also very beautiful.

Cons: The only fly in the ointment, and I suspect it was a error by Booking.com rather than the Riad, but for one night one of our rooms (we were two couples) was double booked. But the hotel was very swift in correcting the problem and making up for it. so yes there was a 'blip' but they recovered extremely well.

Loved the decor of the hotel, the unique rooms, the pool and terraces. The riad is actually several riads stitched together beautifully with a lovely central courtyard. They helped arranged a tour and made it extremely easy to park and have our luggage taken to the riad when we arrived and departed. The terrace room we had was absolutely amazing.

Cons: Dinner was just ok.

This property is a gem! Behind an unassuming entry, this Riad feels like a palace, with a serene tiled courtyard with a fountain and trees. Our room was extremely comfortable, the restaurant and food excellent, and the property offered many areas for relaxation and enjoyment, including a Hammam. We felt we received extremely good value for the money. But what set this Riad apart from all the others we stayed in were the staff. Without exception, they were warm, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. They made our stay in Fez one we will always remember with a smile.

Cons: Everything was wonderful.

The design and decorations are very stylish. The facilities are superb. The manager will get out of his way to make every client happy and served. We slept in and missed out on the breakfast but as soon as he found out we missed our breakfast, in less than 5 mins, he was knocking on our door offering breakfast. I would return only for that exceptional care and service.

Riad Larousse is magnificent, renovated with taste, a gem of a place within Fez' Medina (location is exceptional btw). Rooms are spacious and beds super comfortable, the garden is an invitation to chill and relax, and the pool the best place to spend your afternoon on hot day! You could just spend days and days in there, relaxing by the pool, being pampered at the Spa or reading one of all those books available in the Riad. Special mention for the outstanding service: staff is helpful, nice and always ready to help.

"Most" of the staff were excellent.

Cons: On the first day breakfast was very poor. However after talking with Management there was a marked improvement the next day. However there is a total lack of quality shade. Lots of tables, lovely terraces and few umbrellas, especially as the sun has 12 hours to change where the shade falls! So most guests ended up going inside. In a Moslem country you would think ordering a Virgin Mojito was the order of the day. However to be told repeatedly that my partner could not have a Virgin Mojito as a Mojito must have rum in it was MAD.

Everything was wonderful. The staff, the room, the food. Every detail was considered and it shows. The best place I have stayed in Morocco. Ottoman (sp?) is a wonderful manager and cares about the quality of his work and takes time to check in with guests to make sure they are comfortable. He is the epitome of hospitality and every single staff member I interacted with was warm, caring, and genuine. Can’t say enough wonderful things about this place and I will recommend to everyone I know. Thank you so, so much!

What an absolutely stunning riad. We’ve travelled to Morocco over 8 times in Marrakech, Fez, Tangier and Chefchaouen, but this riad is just magical from the moment you walk into the courtyard and pass through its beautifully decorated interiors. Beautifully crafted, relaxing pool (rarity in medina), top rated bistro serving fantastic food/wine and staff/owners that go out of their way to help you. I cannot recommend this place enough - if you’re in Fez make sure you book this riad!

Cons: Nothing! Note - There are a lot of steps which could be more challenging for elderly people to navigate, but the riad is in the process of having a lift installed. Regardless - don’t let this put you off!

This riad is like a palace. You will feel like royalty. The courtyard has beautiful orange trees and a fountain. The food was great and the staff was amazing. They were there to cater to our every need. The bed was comfy and the shower/tub was wonderful. They provided Moroccan black soap and rose water which was a real spa treat. We had our laundry done and it was done perfectly and returned pressed. I had a massage and the hammam and massage were wonderful. They provide porters and guides to take you in and out so you never have to be worried about getting lost. The pool area is gorgeous and the pool is heated! The entire experience was above and beyond.

Cons: There is nothing to criticize. I will just mention that there are a lot of stairs and no lift. The stairs have quite high rises so if mobility is an issue for you, this may not be the choice for you.

We have nothing but praise to describe this fantastic Riad, a brilliantly restored ancient palace that retains the captivating Moorish charm of bygone times and combines it with modern and very chic decor. All of this creates a perfect and balanced atmosphere of timeless luxury, in which the following stand out: - Its lush courtyard with lemon trees and a constantly bubbling fountain. - The Riad's common areas: different lounges and a library, all tasteful decor. - The heated pool with sun loungers and towels: an oasis of calm to relax at the end of the day. - The spectacular rooftop, with exceptional views of the Medina. Breakfast is served here and the Bistro Restaurant is located here too. The menu is varied and the Mediterranean cuisine with an Arabic touch is delicious. - We stayed in the Terrace Suite, on the top floor of the building, with a private terrace. It is spacious and bright, with a huge and divine bathroom, with terracotta tiles, black tadelakt bathtub and shower, amenities from Les Sens de Marrakech and, of course, the famous natural Savon Noir from their spa-hamman! - The location of the Riad is perfect: just 5 minutes from the Blue Gate and next to the two main streets that run through the Medina, making it easy to navigate from this starting point. - All of the above makes this Riad a very special place, but undoubtedly the most remarkable thing is the kindness and professionalism of all the staff who work there: receptionists, waiters, cleaning personnel. Without them, nothing would be the same!

I’ve been to Fez different times and stayed in many different locations and this is definitely the best place to stay. The staff is helpful and organised, you can feel the good work environment, everything is extremely clean, location is good. It’s right inside the medina and easy to reach in a short walk from the entrance to medina and from the parking. And, if you want, they offer to pick you up and walk you to the riad. The building and courtyard are just gorgeous, the rooftop terrace is wonderful, the pool is clean and beautiful - you can even find pool towels for you, ready at the pool. The pool is air conditioned so no matter what time of the year you go, you’ll find the perfect temperature. So many nice details like the rose water in the bathroom, really quick laundry service, beautiful slippers 💕

This place is an oasis in a busy Fes Medina area. We stayed here for a few days in July with our children. The staff were welcoming and encouraged us to treat it as our own home. We enjoyed the quietnesses of the courtyard with our nightly Moroccan tea ritual. The kids loved Paul and Paulette - the courtyard tortoises. Pictures do not do this place justice. You must experience it for yourself. We really felt at peace and our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Choukran, Riad Laaroussa and all the people that make this place special.

All of the staff was lovely and accommodating. Reception arranged guides, drivers and outings efficiently and transparently regarding pricing. The blue room was well appointed, spacious and comfortable and the additional shared seating area was an added bonus. Beautiful architecture. Breakfast was delicious and filling.

Cons: The size and number of stairs would be challenging for anyone with difficulties/limitations as there is no elevator.

Everything! I can’t recommend this location highly enough! Absolutely stunning from the courtyard to the pool to the rooftop dining!! We were treated like royalty although we are far from it. The staff helped us with everything - booking the taxi, directions around the Medina. We even booked a hammam with them and were not disappointed. I will tell anyone going to Fes to stay here. You won’t be disappointed- guaranteed!

Cons: If I have to pick something, the air conditioner had a little trouble keeping up with the summer heat, but it’s summer in Morocco, so that’s to be expected.

We highly recommend Riad Laaroussa. Simply put, the hotel is amazing, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent. First, the website pictures do not do the hotel justice. The beautiful old wood door leads into a large, tree filled courtyard with comfortable seating areas to relax (or play cards with your family!). Look for Paul and Paula, the resident turtles, who wander around adorably. The pool is a wonderful spot - particularly on hot days in June! Second, the staff helped us with everything including getting tours (Fes medina walk, trip to Volubilis Roman ruins (thanks for the great trip, Omar!), and the transfer to Casablanca when we left). Service was excellent - friendly and helpful. Finally, dinner on our first night was excellent and the breakfasts were yummy (try the Khlea meat omelet - yum!) with jams, breads (they even had gluten free bread for us) and fresh juice. Both are served on the rooftop with views of the city. Amazing. If you have been traveling for a while and need to refresh your clothing, an added bonus at Riad Laaroussa has a same day in-house laundry service! Fes's Souk (market) is our favorite in Morocco (Marrakech a close 2nd) - and when we come back, we'll absolutely stay at Riad Laaroussa again!

Everything about this Riad is perfect - location, architecture, staff, accommodation, food, rooftop terrace and restaurant, swimming pool and sun beds, spa and hammam! All the staff are absolutely fantastic, taking great care of their guests and ensuring you have a memorable stay. A special thanks to Hazar, Rita, Malik in reception, and Hiba, Zach and Otthman, for always serving our refreshments with a smile, and, of course, congratulations to chef Izmil and all the ladies in the kitchen for your culinary excellence - we love your cheesecake! We will definitely return again soon!

Member of staff from the Riad met us at the taxi drop-off point to walk us through the twisting streets of the Medina - he kindly carried our bags for us after a long train from Marrakesh. The Riad itself felt like an oasis, very calm and quiet with a beautiful courtyard. Our room wasn't lacking any amenity we needed. The terrace upstairs was hugely relaxing and the sun beds and pool (heated) area were incredibly relaxing with fresh towels and drinks services from the attentive staff. Breakfast was fantastic with freshly made items, fruit salads and juices, even providing a 'breakfast bundle' to take with us for our early flight. We didn't have enough time to try the dinner but from other reviews and the other guests it sounded great as well. The main positive was how welcoming and kind the staff were. We were accompanied back to the taxi drop off site outside when we left.

Beautiful restored riad in excellent location within the Medina. Staff were really helpful and always enthusiastic. Very well organised reception who helped plan our stay and booked tours as we needed. Our Room was lovely and huge, with working fireplace that was lit each evening for us as requested. Very confortable beds and lovely view of courtyard below. Easy communication with reception using What’s ap from our rooms. They dealt with any queries we had promptly. Booked our restaurants for dinner each night. We also had dinner at the bistro at Laaroussa which served a delicious Moroccan/french menu. The Riad also organised our transport to the airport in Casablanca. We were driven by Omar who was very professional and helpful. A lovely stay. We love Riad Laaroussa’s commitment to sustainability with no single use plastics . Would highly recommend this riad.

Cons: Water pressure of showers was sometimes poor during peak times but understandable in the middle of the Medina

The staff was so kind and welcoming, and they offered great advice and guidance to get the most out of our trip to Fez. The riad is located in a great part of the medina, so you'll be close to everything you'll want to see. And, most of all, the riad offers such incredible comfort and amenities that you will be shocked that you're staying in the middle of a big, active city. This place is an oasis.

Cons: The stairs are very steep. Not just the stairwells, the stairs themselves are very tall and steep. It was not a problem for me, but I want to mention it so you know before you book. Don't sprint up the stairs and you'll be perfectly fine.

A wonderful oasis in the midst of Fez - stunningly decorated with a beautiful rooftop terrace and very comfortable rooms. The staff are very attentive - we had a wonderful time exploring the city but loved refreshing ourselves by popping back for a mint tea on the roof before our next expedition! The hammam was a delight too with such friendly staff and very good value compared to others we saw in Marrakech. Since it was January, we also loved the little seating area by our room with a wood fire, kept regularly burning - a great place to relax after dinner. We only used the pool once but it’s a great size and lovely to lounge next to!

Cons: The only tiny thing I’d say is the restaurant could have more choice but the food we did have was delicious, with lovely breakfast options

Our Room at the Riad was incredibly gorgeous. The bathroom was super clean and huge. The included breakfasts were exceptional. We loved this Riad. It was quirky, but traditional, with history, and ambiance. The staff were very friendly, and we loved the dining room staff. They work so hard, and we found the views at the top during dinner or lunch were incredible, and magical. The pool area was perfect as well. Pretty, and also quiet and private which I liked. No diners looking out at you as you swim which I appreciated. You have to climb stairs to get to the dining area, but thats also part of the charm. Its a work out as the stairs dont conform in size, but once you get to the roof top, it is worth those stairs. We also had stairs to our room. I would suggest if you have physical issues to get a room on the main floor.. I loved that the Riad gave you a little booklet with staff names, and information on the Riad, and food information etc. That was really helpful. We also loved that we could get a glass of wine on the rooftop. So nice at the end of the day to relax with wine or beer which is sometimes difficult to find in Morocco. Fes did have a few places to have a drink of the alcohol variety, but some were super spendy, so we did love to sit at the rooftop of our Riad with our wine in the evening. I also loved that the Riad was environmentally conscious and suggested the use of their water rather than bringing in plastic water bottles. This is an issue in Morocco, as restaurants etc automatically give you bottled water with meals etc. Too much plastic, and waste, so it was good that this Riad is aware of all of that. Our room was the Gray Room, and it was many stairs but oh so worth it. The bed was incredibly comfortable. We loved our room. I highly recommend this Riad in Fes. Fun location as well, right in the medina.

Cons: I have no negatives. Just be ready to climb those stairs which makes it all worthwhile once you do.

The staff at the Riad are phenomenal. They helped us to arrange a tour with a local guide who helped get us oriented to the biggest Medina, shared the history, took us places that we were interested in and took some great photos. The staff also recommended good food, gave us a map and noted all areas specific to our interest, and got us signed up for spa services including our first hamman experience. This place is also just clean and beautiful, an oasis in they Medina to rest, recover and feel pampered.

The welcoming mint tea was wonderful and so appreciated after a long drive and hot walk from the parking area. The facility was beautiful. The breakfast was fantastic. Everything was delicious and very fresh. Very beautiful facility and the bedrooms and bathrooms were along with mattresses and pillows were very nice. The staff was very communicative up to and during our stay which was very reassuring to me traveling to an area not previously visited. Staff was able to secure a wonderful tour guide for us and the facility had a beautiful hammam that we all took advantage and found to be very enjoyable for everyone. A perfect stay in Fes. I wish we would have stayed longer in that location.

Cons: They had a couple of beautiful fountains in their courtyards that were not operating. That would have been extra special with the added water sounds. Also, my grandson son became very sick from eating the Caesar salad in the Bistro. Travel agents tell us not to eat the lettuce because it is washed with the local tap water, which can make people sick who are not use to their water. My grandson thought it would be okay since the waitstaff repeatly told us their water was filtered 5 times. That was the only mar on our stay at Riad Laaroussa. Outside of that it was perfect.

Amazing place to stay! The location was incredible and the staff were SO nice. The spa was amazing, definitely a must do if you stay there. Definitely a must, and make sure to bring your swimsuit as the pool is a wonderful oasis from the busy streets right outside!

Cons: Only little set back, is the price of the restaurant and facilities are more over priced then other food and restaurants which you can find near by, but that is to be expected since the hotel is seen to be a higher priced experience and stay when compared to others in Fes.

Riad Laaroussa is absolutely gorgeous. The Gray Suite where my adult son and I stayed is stunning (lots of steep stairs to get up there, though). The location is perfect, right in the midst of the medina where there's lots of activity. I was nervous about arriving after midnight but the kind staff had a taxi meet us at the airport and then a porter meet the taxi at the medina gate to walk us to the riad (thank goodness because it's a maze in there!) They will also hold your luggage on your day of departure until you need it. The beautiful center courtyard of the riad is extremely comfortable and relaxing after a day in the city.

Cons: I'm not sure about the value for the money. This riad is significantly more expensive than almost any other in the Fez medina and, after peeking in on some of the others, they looked just as lovely. Breakfast was included in the price and very good but it wasn't very clear exactly what was offered. We didn't know what we could order nor how many servings or refills were acceptable.

Cons: Unfortunately we didn’t spot our hired driver when we landed at the airport so we hopped into a cab, but after calling the riad, Anwar was able to speak to the cab driver to coordinate our drop off. On arrival, we were greeted with tea and cookies. The room was beautifully appointed, with robes and slippers, and a nice heater (it was January). The hotel restaurant provided a very good, reasonably priced dinner, so we didn’t have to wander through the Medina at night in search of a restaurant. We had a small load of laundry done at very reasonable charge. And the staff was wonderful, always willing to help with any questions and advice, as well as with transporting luggage to and from taxis, as the cars need to park outside the medina.

Cons: As in many riads, be aware that there are some steep stairs. Fortunately, the staff was great with carrying the luggage both up and down.

We had an excellent driver Omar transport us safely and comfortably to Chefchaouen for a quick scenic afternoon visit and then continued driving to our final destination in Tangier. He made the long journey very entertaining and we never felt nervous or uneasy throughout the ride. Well done Omar.

Cons: Unfortunately we had some confusion occur between the Riad and Booking.com that resulted in a room change during the reservation process. Still a very nice place with an awesome view from the Terrace.

Love the history of this Riad hotel owners. Love meeting Fred, the owner. Loved the tea greetings upon arrival.

Cons: Hated the iPad form. Only 1 iPad available. So checkin took an hour for the four of us. So much information like passport visa unique handwritten numbers which no other hotel in Morocco in 10 different stays ask for. So why do this Riad ask?

Well hidden Riad. Great pool. Lots of elbow room. Met Fred personally and personable. Free Moroccan tea during entire stay.

Cons: No parking nearby. No free room upgrade. Was told completely sold out but I noticed a room clean and empty. Towels at pool not absorbent. Pool chairs old and dirty. Shouldn’t have any cats within the Riad. So many strays!

We loved our stay in Riad Laaroussa!! It is absolutely beautiful not to mention clean & comfortable. We stayed in the red room which was so big & roomy. The staff were AMAZING! They went above an beyond to make our stay perfect. We ate at the restaurant for dinner & had massages in the spa (amazing!) The breakfast every morning is also a lot of food. Not to mention the pool perfect for this time of year to cool off and relax. I would have stayed here for a week but sadly we only had 2 nights here.

Cons: It was fantastic. Only this to note if you have trouble climbing stairs maybe stay on the ground floor.

Spa and Hamam were lovely. Malik could not have been nicer, welcoming, efficient and helpful. The driver he got us for our day trip to Meknes, Omar was also excellent. I’d totally recommend Riad Laaroussa !

We stayed at orange suite. Very nicely decorated and comfortable room. Location is great in the middle of the Medina. The parking lot was easy to find and very useful. Although 10 min away from the road, we had an helpful hand from the staff to bring our luggage, so it’s totally fine. The swimming pool was great to relax and refresh after wandering around the Medina. Wi-Fi works well in common spaces, less so inside the rooms. The staff was super kind and provided an awesome stay!

Cons: Not a problem for us but the staircases to access the swimming pool and Bistrot are a very high so it would be a problem for people with limited capabilities. Additionally, the service at the restaurant has room for improvement as there were some mistakes handling our orders and it was a bit slow.

This riad was a highlight to our trip in Fes. Wonderful location amazing services, the terrace is definitely one of the best spots to take a panoramic view of the medina. The courtyard is surprisingly large with green spaces, a central fountain and even a piano. Most importantly the staff were super friendly and have helped us out in many situations. 10/10 would recommend :)

Excellent, a must stay! Each room is unique (stayed in Blue & Red rooms.) Laarouossa has an understated mix of authentic Moroccan and eclectic modern design, not decor. Rooftop terrace offers excellent sunrise vistas and delicious food. Staff hospitality far exceeds expectations. Badiaa and Fatima's personal attention are unrivalled. Hidden gem centrally and conveniently located inside the Medina. Hammam was superb. Visit to Children's Library next door, co-owned by Hotel owner, not to be missed.

First to enjoy Fez you must stay in the Medina. Then, no better place. This is a 5 star place, service actually beyond that. The house is beautiful and while Fez is great, you feel sorry every time you leave the Riad. The rooms are gorgeous. The garden is top architectural and serenity like no other place. Even the turtle Paul and the two dogs Ben and Lou are perfect. The terrace on top incredible. The breakfast as expected from a top hospitality like this. The hosts make you feel at home. Every single one warm, friendly, professional. They organized a 1/2 day tour of the city with Momo and was great. Also a full day trip to Schefchowen with Omar that is a must. I can’t think of anything I could have asked to be better in this place. Perfect. PS: We stayed in the Orange room. So gorgeous!

Road Laaroussa is gorgeous. We stayed in the Orange suite on the ground floor , opening out to their magnificent central courtyard. The suite was very large with beautiful high ceilings and wonderfully furnished. It was delightful to come home to each day. We had breakfast in the courtyard just outside our suite each day, listening to the birds. Really, it was perfect. Friendly staff . Communication with the owner was excellent throughout.

This place was over the top! The view from the rooftop was unbelievable. The staff was like a family, all working together as an amazing team. They went above and beyond our expectations for accommodating us, and not one of them seemed "put off" in the least when we asked for any help (which we did a few times). The most fantastic things, other than the overall beauty and history of the place, were a pet turtle that walks around the courtyard and the way Malek (one of the amazing staff) rushed to save a small bird that accidentally flew into the pool. I was already convinced this place was magical, but when I witnessed him saving that tiny bird like that, I was over the moon in love with the culture of this riad. It was just terrific in all regards. My 11 year old daughter and I highly recommend it here.

This was such a wonderful Riad in the heart of the Médina. Fred and Cathy were incredibly hospitable, friendly, knowledgeable, and didn’t shame us when we accidentally wondered into their home :) The staff is amazing, the food is excellent, the Spa is relaxing, and the room was large and comfortable. Malek, Karim, and one other gentleman were so helpful with all our requests from making dinner reservations to facilitating a fantastic guide and a driver to our next travel destination. It was truly an unbelievable experience and a place I hope to visit again in the future! 5 star experience in one of the coolest and most interesting cities!

There is nothing about Riad Laaroussa that is not excellent or more!! The most helpful and kind people that exist on the planet. The hotel is GORGEOUS. Location perfect. Dinner was superb. We had wonderful, relaxing massages at the end of shopping in the intriguing Medina with a guide provided by the hotel. I lack the words to say how great the entire experience was. I want to live there. Thank you from the heart to Badiia for all your help.

First, this place is a fifteen minute walk into a maze of ancient alleys. You must have a way to communicate your arrival to the hotel staff so they can meet you with a luggage cart and guide. The road itsel has luxurious courtyard and rooftop, but the rooms are pretty basic. Like cement floors. Way less nice than the Web site pics look. Do not bother with higher prices ones. They are all pretty basic. But do stay here for the wonderful public spaces. The jasmine was in bloom. Lovely. Now, dinner us way overpriced but convenient. Seriously, three nice phylo appetizers, some chicken stew and a brownie for thirty dollars. Food is cheap and good hereso do t waste your money on dinner. We did have them arrange a tour guide who was great and only forty dollars all day. A final note: if you have problems with stairs this is not for you! Stairs are steep and plentiful. Hotel is a maze of levels. But if you like mountain climbing this hotel is good training. So we did love it but just know rooms are really spartan. Don’t be fooled by pics on web.

What a wonderful location, magnificent property, unbelievable and lovely people. We arrived in Casablanca they arrange everything for our pickup, our flight was late and we got into Fez around 11pm. But guess what, our dinner was waiting for me and my family in a beautiful setting close to the chimney, everybody was waiting for us they do not rush us, we took our dinner, they insisted for us to have dessert and take our coffe, they were concern that we had a long day. We ask for what time will be breakfast serve next morning, thier answer come down any time we will be ready for you...... this what I call service ...... sorry did I forget to tell you that the site is amazing!

Riad Laaroussa is, bar none and without hyperbole, the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Our travel to the riad had been quite rocky and I have never experienced a hotel so accommodating and helpful (they picked us up from the train station at 2am!). The suites are all beautiful, and our Grey Suite was unparalleled in it's decor, comfort, and view. Meals are prepared individually from fresh market food, and the staff is unlike anything you will experience elsewhere. I cannot give them a rating as high as they deserve. Do yourself a favor: stay in the medina and do so at Riad Laaroussa.

A wonderful place in the middle of it all. Once you step behind the doors the walls provide amamzing privacy and quiet. Inside is a gorgeous central garden and another exists behind the building with a beautiful pool. The staff can't do enough for you. The most helpful group of employees I have ever seen. The restaurant was the best food of all of the places that we went to (and we went to what was recommended as the best) and it definitely had the best view looking out onto the Medina. Can not recommend this place enough - it is a holiday onto itself.

The Laaroussa Riad is one of the most lovely, relaxing, and beautiful places I have stayed in my many years of global travel. The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment they came to collect our luggage to the last second we walked out the door and to our awaiting transport to Casablanca. The staff took excellent care of us and booked our dinner reservations, tours, and transport. They attended to our every need. We had a traditional session in the Riad's own Hammam which was wonderful and relaxing, and facilitated by their lovely, welcoming staff. Our dinner on the rooftop our first night was deliciously amazing with stunning views of the surrounding Fez landscape. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the pool, and in our stunning and perfectly appointed room (the Green Suite). The suite was perfect to accommodate the 3 of us that were traveling. The Laaroussa is lovely and amazing, it is worth traveling around the world just to have this experience. It is a "must do" in Fez if you can.

Beautiful riad, wonderful food and the best staff! Anything you needed was just a call away. The hammam on site was also great. We had massages and hammam treatments. Perfect for couples. From the rooftop dining to the private pool, you will not be disappointed. Note that there is a 5 minute walk to and from the riad through the bustling medina. For first timers this might be off putting, but go with it. You'll be in good hands with the porter.

Stayed with my mom and sister at this fantastic Riadh in the Blue room. It really is more like a castle. We are from Tunisia and are familiar with some of the Arabesque/Moorish decor but were still amazed. The Architecture, the space and the very elegant decor was great. The interior design is outstanding and the feel is very authentic. We stayed at the Blue room and it was perfect for the 3 of us. The bathroom looks like a museum.

In short: if you're coming to Fez, stay here. It's a stunning family-run hotel, that stands out with its incredible service and beautiful setting. We'd never been to Morocco and we stayed three nights at the beginning of our morocco trip. When we went to the next city and hotel all we could think about was how much we missed Riad Larroussa and all the staff (they really make you feel like family). The staff (from cleaning to manager) go above and beyond with anything you might need as if you were their family. We stayed in the orange room with beautiful intricate high ceilings and the coolest shower. I accidentally cut my toe and the staff immediately came with a first aid kit to bandage it up and make sure I was ok. Also, the moroccan pancakes at breakfast are delicious and the views from the upper levels/terrace/roof are stunning. Dinner is also home cooked and delicious and the chocolate tart was unforgettable. If you're in Fez stay at this hotel. Shout out to Rajae, Malek, and Karim for being so lovely and all the other staff whose names we didn't catch.

This was our first trip to Morocco and our experience at this Riad made it a very memorable one. The room was a bit small for 3 people but comfortable. We had an issue with our bathroom which took a while to fix - it was a nuisance but not a major problem. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had to catch an early morning train to Marrakech and they packed us water and some cookies and fruits which was so thoughtful. We will definitely come back and stay in this Riad again.

Location is very convenient, close to everything. Hotel design is very pretty. We booked this place after our days in the desert to relax. The pool was very nice, and the dinner on the top terrace had great sunset views. We we loved the most was the 2 big dogs, 1 black and 1 brown, so friendly and cute. There was also 1 cat and 1 turtle in the riad. There's a lot of orange trees in the courtyard and there's a lot of birds flying around the trees. Wonderful experience.

Fred, Cathy and Thierry say that their aim at Riad Laaroussa is to welcome you into their home and to represent the Moroccan reputation for hospitality. In this they exceed their goal. The Riad itself is beautiful but the staff are the jewel that makes it so special - from Laarbi who speaks no English but understands everything perfectly and manages to communicate regardless of our skill or lack thereof in Arabic and French, to Badiaa who has the warmest hugs, and Karims warm smile. Not to mention, if cooking is an art then you will find the chef equivalent of Leonardo Da Vinci in the form of Fatima who produces the most unimaginable delights for the palate. Then Cathy and Fred's delightful children and the dogs Bella and Lu add to the warm family atmosphere and no matter what we asked nothing was too much trouble. The staff were not only polite, efficient and friendly but were happy to chat and spend time looking at pictures of our pets and home and sharing stories from theirs as though nothing else could be more important to them. Reda, who used to work at Riad Laaroussa, is now a tourist guide and both knowledgable and proud of his origins. We were blessed to have him show us around. Riad Laaroussa would be enough to bring us back to Fes and though we had only stayed a few days (something to be remedied if we pass this way again - Insha'Allah) I felt quite sad to leave what now felt like long time family and friends. Cannot recommend enough.
