Top Lage, mitten in der belebten Medina und trotzdem nicht zu laut nachts, wenn man das Fenster schließt. Das Zimmer war super süß eingerichtet und ich habe mich während des Aufenthalts sehr wohl gefühlt. Ich konnte mich bei Fragen jederzeit über WhatsApp bei dem Host melden und habe immer sofort eine Antwort erhalten. Das hat den Aufenthalt für mich als Alleinreisende unkompliziert und noch angenehmer gemacht! Würde auf jeden Fall wieder herkommen!

Location Exceptional location and Leo was really hospitable and friendly
Cons: Rooms were small and the en-suite bathroom was down some slippery steps. Toilet was broken which was repaired immediately and I changed rooms the next day. I felt frustrated that the room I initially booked should have made the bathroom size and location much more clearer. New room was good - had to have a single bed and to share a bathroom. Did feel this is more of a hotel type feel rather than a riad.

Cons: Que dire… Je ne trouve pas de mots pour décrire à quel point la réception de cet hôtel est désastreuse. Petit 1 : Nous sommes arrivés à 9h du matin, horaire que nous avions communiqué à l’avance. Notre idée était simplement de déposer nos bagages pour aller nous balader, puis revenir à 14h comme indiqué sur le site. Mais personne n’était présent pour garder nos affaires, et on nous a demandé de les laisser dans le hall d’entrée… à la vue de tous. Petit 2 : Il a fallu attendre plus de 15h pour enfin récupérer notre chambre, car, encore une fois, personne n’était là. Petit 3 : Quelle surprise en découvrant que nous avions réservé une chambre avec salle de bain partagée, alors que nous avions bien sélectionné le critère « chambre avec salle de bain privée » ! Lorsque le site vous propose de choisir votre chambre, soyez attentifs ⚠️, car très peu (voire une seule) disposent réellement d’une salle de bain privée. Côté hygiène, c’est catastrophique : la salle de bain commune et la chambre laissent grandement à désirer. Tout est sale ! Le sol est couvert de poussière et de cheveux, on se demande même si le ménage a été fait. Le lit n’est pas épargné : nous y avons trouvé des cheveux à l’intérieur. En résumé : un grand moment… à fuir absolument !

Cons: Tit seems all of the windows are broken so the wind in essaouira (which is a lot) blows them open, even during the night. Because of the wind, we heard doors slamming shut all the time. The experience would be so much better if these were fixed. One woman in the hotel was mad enough to shout at the reception about it very late at night. Also the bathroom smelled terrible. This is probably because of the Moroccan central plumbing, but it was a terrible smell. We also didn’t notice that it’s a shared bathroom when we booked, but that’s probably our fault.

My best friend and I stayed here for the duration of our stay in Essaouira (4 nights). It's super central and our room was comfortable, with a little couch and wardrobe. We missed a nightstand but that was the only thing. We shared a bathroom with another room which worked well - we never had to wait, it was clean and the water was warm. We never saw any staff besides when we arrived, but I had the loveliest interactions with Jimenez on WhatsApp. He helped us with any questions and was extremely friendly. Thank you Jimenez!
Cons: When we arrived in the riad the reception was not very hospitable or warm, so in combination with not seeing any staff, it felt a bit impersonal but that was completely fine by us. We could always reach out to staff by WhatsApp which actually works very well.

The rooms of Riad Dar Latigeo are very beautiful and tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable. There is wifi on every floor and it works very well. There is daily cleaning and the staff is very kind. The location is perfect, in the middle of the medina and still in a quiet side street. We liked our stay so much, that we extend several days.

I liked the location, in the heart of Medina. The riad is in a calm area Léo was reactive for any înquiry and was very comprehensive when i lost keys ( i found them and will try send them )
Cons: Hair dryer was not in the bathroom ( i was supposed to use othzr guests' so i could not dry my hair not to disturb others. The bed in ancient style is really beautiful, stairs might be dangerous at night in case of natural emergency I asked for an early breakfast as i had a meeting early, unfortunatzly no effort for that.

It's right in the heart of the city yet it's very quiet & located at the end of an alleyway. The rooms are beautiful & everything, including the bathrooms, are exceptionally clean! Towels provided. First time I've shared a bathroom, but the bathroom is not directly connected to either bedroom & so there were no issues. I will definitely stay here again.

I don't have a single bad thing to say about this Riad. I.loved Essaouira, I loved the accomodation and the bathroom. Location was amazing. The host only spoke Arabic, but she was so sweet. She let us leave the our stuff after the checkout in a private room and she gave us the keys so that we could come back to pick our stuff whenever we wanted.

Cons: The riad lacked the hospitality we experienced at other riads (eg. mint tea on arrival etc.) and it felt more like a hostel rather than a riad- there wasn’t much staff presence during our stay. This may be because there weren’t many guests at the riad, but the place felt a bit deserted and very dark during our stay. The sides of our bed was also very dusty and looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks.

The bed was comfy and my room always smelled well, the cleaning lady was super nice and helpful. Léo was there to welcome me and explained everything properly. I also liked the architect it was just amazing.

Cons: Most horrible experience I've had in Morocco is in this riad dar latigeo, my journey was beautiful and full of excitement and enjoyable moments in Morocco until I arrived to this riad...the first thing is we stood at the door so long until someone came to open the door for us, we tried calling but no one picked up, finally they open the door for us... The grumpy face of the guy at the reception didn't make us feel like we are welcomed ( I don't remember his name but he's from Senegal I think) Finally in the room as it clearly states we have a private bathroom on booking.com and other booking websites that I checked that's not true people using my private bathroom all day long...and I felt scammed and my rights were violated, when I went to ask the responsible of the riad I don't remember his name but hes a french guy he told us that it's a shared bathroom and denied what booking.com states on their policy he asked me to wright a complaint to booking.com which is not professional and not hospitable at all. Plus everytime I need to ask about direction tips or where can I find some place to go no one is at the reception downstairs... we've booked 4 night but we stayed only 3 nights and left that place because honestly it supper uncomfortable and felt like a ghost house. I don't recommend anyone to stay there to be honest.

Riad in a great location. We stayed in L’albatros room and it was gorgeous. Lovely comfy 4 poster bed, the room was very clean. You have to share a bathroom but the bathroom was incredibly clean. Hosts were very friendly in contact before we arrived. If you get tired of Moroccan food there is a lively Italian restaurant in the same street which is really tasty!

Great location. Easy to find small quest house on a quiet street in the Medina. The young Swiss man that owns it is super helpful with suggestions for your stay. Classes in cooking, ceramics , etc. have breakfast there. You will be set for for a wonderful day in the very nice city!

Really nice Riad in the heart of the Medina, in a small and quiet street with a popular pizzeria, close to lots of artsy shops and a short walk to the beach. There is also a beautiful, well-maintained little square with restaurants at the end of the art shop street (to the right when you come out of Dar Latigeo alley). Restaurant Tara and Bistro are great. The Riad it itself is really nice, the room I had was super comfy and much better than I expected, loved the stairs leading up to the bed, the photos don't do justice to this nice place. It's thoughtfully decorated and just has a well-maintained, peaceful "vibe". Just saying, because other Riads have good photos, but are totally run-down when you arrive and the vibe can be off, if the staff is careless. Dar Latigeo on the other hand is great. Peaceful with a pleasant smell in the house, attentive & discrete staff, calm. Good to wind down after the business in the medina. Really good value for money.

The owner sent us some recommadations to do, but it was overpriced
Cons: I don't know why the rating are so high. It was such a bad idea to rent this hotel. Location was really hard to find. We had to pay taxes once we got there because it is not included in the price, so thats how they get client : they show a lower price on the website but with the taxes that you pay it gets equivalent to the others. For me it was not obvious enough that we needed to pay more once we got there, I told him and the owner said it was clear enough on the website. The pictures does not reflect the reality AT ALL. The bed was not comfortable, it was too loose, and it had lots of white dust particle on it. We needed to go down multiple stairs to get to the bathroom, it looked like we were going to a sketchy basement. The toilet wasn't steady. The shower had an extremly weak steam. The storage furniture was dirty and repared with tape. The room was really small.

Very nice place, lovely furnished and spaceous rooms located directly inside the medina. Still quiet. We had a very comfortable bed. The room and bathroom were very clean and endowed with towels, soap and a hairdryer. Big breakfast available. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you so much and all the best!

Simple but cute visual building and rooms. Comfy bed. staffs were most of time available for me and they are nice. Walking distance with many restaurants and cafe. But it's relatively quite, due to its located end of the small road. U must walk 10min after get off of taxi. Roof top area.
Cons: Shower head couldn't stay still and held. Water didn't go down shower very well. There was sometimes uncomfortablity with strong scent When i was in room with no window directly to outside. Rooftop area could be more clean/cozy.

Quiet but central location in the Medina, varied and plenty breakfast with fresh fruit salad, freshly pressed orange juice, tasty omelette and bread, good coffee (but tea less so) from 9.00am or rather 10.00am onwards if you ars fine with this 60-90 Dirhams). Still reasonably priced accommodation but it should keep its previous unique flair of a decent and respectful guesthouse enjoyed by all clients (especially those who prefer to sleep in the middle of the night).
Cons: Missing very much the personal touch, I have enjoyed over all the years on the numerous times I stayed at Latigeo.The guests were at the center of everything before, but not anymore. Difficulties to contact the receptionist for the afternoon check-in under the phone numbers provided, no friendly chat and welcome. No cleaning of the room and the bathroom or fresh towels for 3 days. I am not sure if the new management is aware of the well-earned reputation of my favourite place in Essaouira and what it takes to keep it.

Beautifully decorated rooms and nice terrace. Staff was friendly albeit they seemed to feel a bit awkward about me travelling solo.
Cons: The common area is not too inviting as it lacks much daylight and the breakfast is expensive (6-9 euros). Sound carries a lot in the building and the riad style of the building means several rooms do not have any windows (directly) to the outdoors.

The interior design was very nice, and the whole riyad smelled so clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful (they kept my bag after check out). The terrace was nice too but it doesnt have much view besides the other terraces of surrounding buildings. The location is great!
Cons: The terrace didnt have any lighting so its hard to chill at night (or bring your own light). And my pillow did smell a bit so used a towel instead.

The staff are very nice people and helpful, talkative and they also offered to keep the luggage at the reception after our check-out in case you still want to spend some time around before leaving Essaouira.
Cons: I didn't like that the bathroom/shower was shared with the other room and the hot water didn't work late at night and early in the morning. There is no view on the beach but on other roofs, and the towels were kinda smelly :(

The entire stay from start to finish, was amazing. The check-in was so easy. I was greeted by Amadou, who was extremely friendly and helpful to the process. He gave me personal attention and advice about the city. The hotel itself is a renovated building that maintains its authenticity and history. when one stays there, they have modern amenities in an old world environment. The hotel is situated in a quiet neighborhood, and a two minute walk from one of the busiest street in the Medina. There is sunlight and a lot of air in the rooms. At times I didn’t know whether I should go out and enjoy the Medina or stay in the room and enjoy the historical feel. I was here on business. My plan after staying one night wants to try other hotels. Instead, I continue to renew my stay at this hotel for the reasons I’ve stated here in. If you are reading this review book this hotel immediately.

What a lovely stay! The room was beautiful and very clean. I stayed on the top floor and the windows opened into the light well which made it feel very spacious. The staff were absolutely fantastic. Amadou went out of his way to help me, not only making recommendations but also to help me find somewhere to do my laundry, and did so with a smile. I would recommend and would stay again.
Cons: Only negative is the rooms that open onto the light well (half of the rooms) if you have your windows open you can hear everything from the reception area and kitchen, to the point that three floors up I could make out every word. Not a problem as it was quiet at night, but something to be aware of.

It was easy to find inside the medina, the location is perfect, we were close to everything literally inside the souks. Siham was amazing, she was there for us all the time. if you compare the price with the quality of service it is very correct. I recommend if you were on a budget like I was :) !

Centrally located in the medina - in the heart of the hustle and bustle of essaouira. The Riad accomodation itself is spacious, clean and infused with moroccan influences throughout. The location of the accommodation is right next to the infamous taverna bolognese - with some of the best food we have had in morocco. Georges even offered us a ride back to the airport that we gladly accepted, in which we exchanged conversation in English and French. A stellar stay and we will be back for sure.

Cons: I was in this property before, when it was well managed by a pleasant and friendly gentleman who made me feel welcome and confortable. I didn’t have the same experience, it seemed like I was in a totally different place, it lost its past warmth and pleasantness. For seven days my room was not clean, sheets and towels were not changed, only one toilet paper roll, the host never asked if we needed anything or how we were feeling. the level of humidity was very high in our rooms, which is common in Essaouira during this time of the year, making our stay even more unpleasant.

The Room was superb for myself and My girlfriend. We stayed here for 2 nights and the Riad was beautiful. The Hosts greeted us upon arrival and they were very friendly and welcoming.
