We had a lovely stay at Sawadi. An Oasis in an Oasis. The adobe buildings are beautiful, the food honestly exceptional fresh and with high quality ingredients and chef. We ate there every night also. The staff, kind and seem to love their jobs. We adored waking up to the abundance of birds every morning and roaming around the gardens and farm on site seeing the veggies and fruit trees grow and seeing the horse and animals healthy and happy. Down a dirty track you’ll find a little slice of heaven. Thanks for the memories Sawadi team! We would love to come back!

The space is spotless, beautifully designed with authentic Berber touches, and surrounded by a peaceful, lush garden—perfect for relaxation. The traditional breakfast was simple but delicious, featuring eggs, pancakes, different jams, olives, honey, and bread. It was just right for me and my family, though those with bigger appetites might want a bit more. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall great experience. Just a heads-up: there’s no TV, so it might not suit those who enjoy screen time. But for me, the serene atmosphere and lovely surroundings more than made up for it. Highly recommend this place for anyone seeking comfort, authenticity, and a tranquil getaway!

Cons: Just be aware of the limited AC in some apts if you’re sensitive to heat. Still, I’d happily return!

We had a very pleasant stay at Sawadi Ecolodge. The staff was extremely kind and always helpful — truly welcoming and attentive. The property itself is beautiful: elegant yet down-to-earth, with a charming and tasteful character that doesn’t try to be overly fancy. There’s a vegetable garden on-site, and although we didn’t see any animals, you can feel their presence nearby, which adds to the natural atmosphere. My group and I were in real need of rest after many days on the road, and we spent a full day relaxing by the pool. They provided us with towels for the pool, which was a nice touch. The food was good — and we were especially happy to finally have some fresh salad! Breakfast was very generous and satisfying, and both lunch and dinner were enjoyable.

Cons: The only downside was the saltwater pool, which wasn’t very clean in the morning: there was some foam on the surface and dark marks on the bottom. It did improve slightly during the day, and we could hear what seemed to be the filter working, so we still used it. Another small inconvenience was that the card machine wasn’t working, but we were able to pay via immediate bank transfer, so it didn’t cause major trouble.

What a beautiful place to stay. We loved the traditional architecture of the ecolodge and the friendly atmosphere. Breakfasts around the pool were a highlight, as were the dinners. However, the best part for us was sitting on our roof terrace watching the sun set. The lodge was a great basis for explorations in the area, into the Atlas mountains and other oasis towns.

Pretty place, comfortable interconnecting room for 2 adults and 2 kids in beautiful Moroccan styling. Food was good, hamman/massage great, staff friendly. Kids could roam, play volleyball, basket ball and table tennis and plenty of places to relax. Very peaceful.

Cons: The pool, although heated, was too cold for any extensive swimming, even when the weather was 33 degrees, so the kids only had short bursts of time there which was a little disappointing. However, the pool was warmer than other places we stayed! The play equipment was a little tired, with new balls needed and board games needing sorting/replacing. There were no craft/pottery activities offered whilst we were there. Food was a little repetitive - only change in menu was the set starter and main at dinner. The kids menu is just a discounted price for kids up to 8 years - they eat the same set menu as the adults, which was not always successful with picky eaters. Dinner was late by UK standards (8pm). We enjoyed our stay but just not quite as accommodating for children (7, 11) as I had envisaged.

Everything is so well prepared, the location is perfect and has more than everything you might need. The owners are extremely helpful and kind, they are ready for every detail and would care for everything, so are all the staff working at Sawadi. This is a very special place in the depth of the Oasis behind Scoura. It is a great experience staying in a well built copy of the traditional adobe/mud wall local architectural buildings. And on a small living farm in an Oasis. The place is tranquil and beautiful. The staff are super welcoming. The food is fresh and good. It is hardly worth staying one night given the time taken to get there off the main tarmac road. So ideally this would be a two or three night stay at least, giving time to learn about the oasis culture and life, and to visit local sights like the Dades gorge and other oases ( Sidi Flah). We enjoyed all that

Cons: We were very happy, but some people might find the remote location at the top end of the oasis a challenge, not least if they were looking for a one night stop. And of course because this is an ecolodge ( one of its great charms) it might not suit a visitor who expects high end city-type hotel facilities

Very clean, nicely decorated rooms, nice pool. Our waiter was highly enthusiastic and friendly, we want to thank him.

Cons: We think that price and quality really doesn’t match. Wifi only works around restaurant, not in the rooms and since there is mobile network doesn’t work at the hotel, not having wifi at room or around the pool is extremely inconvenient. Also, especially dinner was not good, basic spaghetti and tagine. Breakfast was just normal.

Beautiful grounds and the pool area and room was really lovely.

Cons: I contacted them twice beforehand to let them know my dietary requirements and they replied both times saying it was fine. Upon arriving they had no recollection of the messages I’d sent that day and so we had a ten minute chat about it as we wanted to have dinner there. All understood. Long story short my dinner came out and was full of dairy ( a cheesey gratin with veg and rice) and dairy is what I’m allergic to. No one understood the problem for quite a while, my dinner got taken away and the gratin was taken off the plate and I was just given rice and veg. Very disappointing and also felt very awkward as a waiter got told off even though it wasn’t his fault and then came to tell us infront of everyone he’d got in trouble because of me. I felt very awkward and embarrassed and wasn’t impressed with how it was handled.

Beautiful and chilling resort which is very kid friendly. We spent a lot of time in the swimming pool. The farm visit was great, plenty of fruit trees to see and kids can ride pony, feed donkeys, play with rabbits and other farm animals which was a great half day out. There are also hamam, massage and facial. We tried all and these are very relaxing. The initial exfoliation part for the facial is a bit rough, but the final outcome was great resulting in very smooth skin. Small children playground and also some ball games are available too. Plenty of apricots rippen in the trees during our visit in late May. Very tasty and can pick and eat any time. Food is delicious. Staff is very friendly, especially Kader, Majid and Aziiza.

Cons: The room is a farm house and it's a little bit old, understandably it is not as comfortable as a hotel. Not a lot of staff in the resort and thus meal serving could be a bit slow when there are big groups of costumers. Not much to do around the area, so it's most suitable to just spend time and relax in the resort.

1- The food: we had the best dinner of our Morocco trip in the Sawadi Lodge. Everything was delicious, including the meal itself, desert, tea, coffee and drinks. The service was top notch- we even took a pic of our waiter Mansour. He is something else. 2- The service: not only during dinner- the host and the staff were on a mission to make sure that every minute was a joy. 3- Rooms: comfortable, pretty, authentic. The hotel grounds have character. There is an appealing swimming pool that we didn't use because of the season.

Cons: Hard to say- nothing really- just a general comment about the size of Skoura palmeraie. It's very large. The roads are narrow, twisted, with many bends. It takes 20 minutes to get from the hotel to the Kasbah Amridil- the distance as the crow flies is 7 Km, but the road distance travelled is almost 12 Km in slow conditions.

The ecolodge is well positioned within olive groves and fruit and vegetable gardens in the oasis region of Skoura. It is a welcome retreat to the hot and arid countryside in summer. It is definitely an oasis of coolness and tranquility, with many trees and the constant sounds of birds and animals (and a swimming pool). The staff are very friendly and polite and try to make the guests as comfortable as possible. The food is well provided and delicious.

We stopped here for only one night on our way along the road of the Kasbahs, but actually should have stayed longer to explore the beautiful surroundings. The farm can be reached by normal car via a bit adventurous piste, but there signs everywhere and Google Maps also works well. The accommodation is spread over several bungalows in a beautiful, flowering garden, surrounded by fields that are farmed organically. Our room was on ground level, very spacious and with tastefull decoration. The hot water in the spacious bathroom also worked very well. Dinner was delicious and the staff very warm and friendly, as were other guests. Breakfast was outstanding, with a buffet including many homemade products and several teas to choose from, something you don't find almost anywhere in Morocco. We haven't used the pool as it was quite fresh in April, but it was very clean and nice located in the garden. One remark: It is better to bring cash, as card payment is sometimes not possible depending on the internet connection.

The pool area was lovely and also relaxing. Really beautiful gardens to walk amongst. I liked the fact that the four of us shared a bungalow type property but with separate facilities like showers. The food was good and they were fairly sensitive to the limitations of what I couldn’t eat. We had access to a lovely roof terrace in our property which meant great views of the mountains

Cons: What I found difficult in nearly all the properties we had on our tour of Morocco were the showers. It would have been great if they were contained instead of open to prevent splashing .

The location is great for having quietness and peace. Too bad we did not stay longer. The pool was clean and my son enjoyed it. The location has pleny of games for the kids. A place to relax. Dinner was very good. If you need internet, keep in mind that you will only have it in the main building of the hotel which make it also nice as a relaxing hotel

Cons: Perhaps because we were in ramadan time, although breakfast has a lot of variety, they were running out of many stuff and it took a lot of time before they restocked the food. If you need internet, keep in mind that you will only have it in the main building of the hotel which make it also nice as a relaxing hotel

very nice location and quietness, proximity to many nice sites to visit

Cons: The owner/manager was not giving too much care to us (1. starting with some remarks at Checkin, 2. constantly mentioning costs/taxes/how to save any drop of water - and at the end billing me again the room rate which had been paid on Booking and 3. to finally keep us locked outside the lodge when we were returning from a dinner outside at 9pm…). now, regarding the « eco-lodge », I am wondering why we have some industrial cheese at breakfast while some local goat cheese producers are around the corner. the food quality is far from exceptional and in low quantity. don’t even except a welcome Moroccan tea as it is the case everywhere else in the country! there are many other options way more local and friendly!

Really a nice place, even in winter I could feel the beauty of Oasis Skoura. Kader,Said and all the staff are very friendly, they made me feel at home in just two day’s trip. I will definitely be back here as I have agreed with them. In short, if you want to experience the unique Moroccan style and the most local cultural atmosphere, you are right to come here!

Cozy cabin feel with a fireplace! The restaurant is one of the nicest we visited and had the best breakfast. There were lots of great amenities within the natural landscape of the walls of this estuary, with a beautiful pool, spa, games and lovely hikes and walks with great views of the mountains. We would highly recommend at least 2 night here to enjoy everything this ecolodge has to offer.

Cons: Skoura is located in an oasis just before the Atlas Mountains and the ecolodge is located about 7km outside of town making it a little bit difficult to get to for a one night stay. As mentioned in other posts, it's a wonderful place but to really appreciate what this place has to offer, we wish we had planned on staying at least 2 nights.

It is a beautiful property. the owner is French and she is very invested in hosting making everyone in the room feel at home. the organic cosmetics produced at the property are available to hosts. it was one of the most authentic experience we had in 20 days in Morocco so far. 10/10.

The property was isolated so only eating options were on-site. Restaurant staff were lovely. The venue charged in euro, converted to local currency which used multiple exchange rates which to me, seemed to only favour the property. Didn't like that aspect

We absolutely loved our stay at Sawadi. It is a ways outside Skoura, 10 minutes or more on a small back road, which puts it in a remote but very lovely, very quiet area surrounded by olive groves and fields, with a view of the distant snow covered mountains (for our April stay). The rooms are nicely sized, with great bathrooms and ours had a spacious roof terrace as well (I think most do). The architecture and decor are incredibly well done and interesting, not only in the bedrooms but also in the dining room and other common rooms - at once elegant and relaxed and comfortable and full of charm. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The pool was closed during our April visit but looks very nice and well maintained. Every one of the small staff was friendly, helpful and competent. A big unexpected plus was the food. The included breakfast has many options and everything we tasted was home made and delicious. Dinner is not included, but the price is reasonable and is NOT to be missed. It was easily the best meal we had during our entire time in Morocco. The owners of this place have tried hard to make it a special haven, and for us, they completely succeeded. They are friendly, quickly stepped in to help us with travel issues we had, and couldn't have been nicer. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to any traveler. After a staying in Marrakech for a week, this hotel was a welcome oasis of quietude, beauty and friendliness.

It was only one night we spent there on our trip to Merzouga, but it was very nice place, with very tasty food and wonderful, beautiful desert houses built in a traditional way. The sleep was great in the quiet environment, after a swim in a nice swimming pool. It really came nice after a day of driving and walking. The hosts were very professional and pleasant.
