A személyzet maximálisan segítőkész. A szállás tiszta, rendezett, belülről szép.

Amazing stay in the heart of Marrakech! We had a wonderful experience at this riad. The location is perfect — right in the Medina, close to everything, yet peaceful and quiet inside. The riad is beautifully decorated, clean, and full of charm. The rooftop has a stunning atmosphere — so peaceful and beautifully set up, especially magical at sunset. The hosts were truly amazing — warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. A special thanks to Abdu and Yassine, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Colazione buonissima e abbondante.

Cons: Nada a apontar :)

This is a wonderful hotel within the old city. Driving to the hotel was challenging but the hotel staff was waiting for me outside to help me park right next to the hotel. Inside, it is a beautiful riad with a small pool that we used and enjoyed. The hotel is in a great location. It is only a 10-15 minute walk to the central square. If you use Google Maps it is no problem to navigate the winding alleys.

Great stay, very helpful staff, amazing breakfast, 25 min walk to main square.

Cons: The location even though it was close to the main square, it was a bit confusing in regards of going through the narrow streets, and also a bit difficult to go with a car and park there, but apart from that, everything was great.

The location is perfect; a short 10 min walk from the center, so you don't need a car but you are still in a relatively calm area. The rooftop and pool are wonderfull, the breakfast is local and good. All staff are very friendly, especially ABDOU who really takes care of the guests and will help requesting taxis, etc.

Cons: Very litte sound isolation in the rooms, you can hear the guests in the next room coughing as if you were next to them. You get used to it, but this is the major critique of this riad.

1. Staff was great. People are caring, nice and kind. Always helping out, providing tips, even drew a map on how to get to the most important locations in the area. 2. Riad is very clean even with an open roof, it's a pleasure for an eye. 3. Nice rooftop terrace. We brought a bottle of wine, staff provided the opener and glasses. Didn't charge us extra even though the rules on the door state the 50 MAD fee per bottle. 4. Every breakfast had a great fresh orange juice. 5. A cute little pool in the middle of the riad, however, only children swam there. update: 6. Breakfast is served between 8 and 10 am. We had a tour scheduled early and asked if it is possible to serve breakfast at 6:30. They helped out and did serve it this early in the morning.

Cons: 1. The rooms are really really tiny. There is almost not enough space to open your luggage. We asked not to clean the room, since we didn't have space to sort our clothes, they were just laying around. 2. Bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a transparent curtain. One guest had to go outside if another wanted to have some privacy in the toilet. 3. The shower hose was leaking badly. To the point I had to wash myself while holding the hose above me to get some water. 4. No soap in the bathroom. 5. No toothbrushes or toothpaste. Requested the toothbrushes and only got 1, but it's ok. 6. No iron in the riad. I was traveling for the conference and couldn't iron my shirts. 7. According to the rules, you can't bring food or drinks (even non-acloholic ones) to the riad. However, we asked to have dinner ordering delivery and all was good. 8. Breakfast is 1 egg, 1 moroccan pancake, bread, butter and assortment of jellies. It got old pretty fast. 9. People in the neighbourhood try to scam you by stating that the road ahead is closed. Staff warned us about it so we just ignored them every time. However, it still wasn't a pleasant experience. update: 10. Breakfast is served between 8 and 10 am. We had a tour scheduled early and asked if it is possible to serve breakfast at 6:30. They replied "I don't know what to tell you, normally it's at 8am but OK at 6:30am no problem." They helped out and did serve it. However, do not expect to have "packed breakfast" that you typically get in the hotels. Moreover, they reached out via whatsapp after left the review asking why i skipped that part. 5.1. Turns out, the requested toothbrush – the host bought it out of his own pocket. He also asked me in whatsapp if he should have gave it to me on my first day in the room. Just keep in mind, that it is not a hotel and you should not expect your typical hotel experience.

After booking, Matthieu sent me tons of helpful travel tips via Booking.com, which was amazing. I also arranged airport pickup through them, and everything went smoothly. Abdou was like the ultimate host—carrying our bags, helping us get local SIM cards, drawing us maps, and giving us all the key info we needed. He was *so* thoughtful! Every morning, he prepared delicious breakfasts and checked in to make sure we weren’t tired or missing anything. The Riad itself is gorgeous too! The room had plenty of space for even our huge suitcases, and the sofa was super comfy. *Thank you both* for your incredible hospitality—you made our Marrakech trip absolutely perfect! ❤️🥰🙏

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Lapiz Lazuli. It had charm and character, but most of all, Abdou and Matthieu made us feel very welcome. They were helpful, extremely accommodating, and friendly and gave us loads of tips and advice for getting around and sorted the transfer, meals, and trip out for us. The plunge pool and roof terrace were very much enjoyed, and the breakfast was delicious. The room was basic but enough, with the bathroom a little tired and run-down but I believe they were renovating just after we left. The Riad is about 20 mins away from the main square, but that made it quieter. The street is is on itself is very quiet, but be aware of the chaos on the streets just 5 mins away.- lots of people, sellers, and vehicles. We liked the hustle and bustle but I guess it's not for everyone. All in all, it was a terrific stay, absoultely fine for a family. Would recommend

I liked the location of the riad itself and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Especially with Abdou, who gave us some tips on what to do and what should we be cautious about. He also gave us some local recommendations on where to eat and it was the best!

Cons: We initially booked the standard twin room, but we weren’t happy with the room because it had a smell and the toilet didn’t looked good. So we asked them to be transferred to a new room, and the new room was way much better and nicer. Also, the wifi was a bit slow. But other than that, nothing else.

The staff were extremely attentive and made the stay wonderful. Most facilities are close and easily reached within a 30 minute walk. It is best to get the hotel to arrange your transfer from the airport as the location is not easy to find in the maze of alleyways. The hotel is quiet and a great place.to relax. Good WiFi. The a/c cools and heats effectively. The rooms are not large but they are full of Moroccan character. Good value for money.

Cons: No complaints.

Lapis-Lazuli is lovely Riad situated a km or so from the centre of the Medina. It's typical in its design with rooms around a central courtyard. It's a very quiet building and proved to be most comfortable. The rooms are well furnished and the shower worked well. My room was slightly larger and included a sofa which I assume converts into an extra bed It's run by Patrik and Abdou. We only saw Patrik for a short while each morning. Abdou is there from evening until morning and could not have been more helpful. The easy walk into Jemaa El-Fna is most interesting but a bit circuitous. Abdou very kindly walked with us on the first evening to show us the way for the last part getting back to the Riad. We had booked a meal at the Riad for our first evening - delicious lamb tagine, the tastiest we had while in Marrakech. We also booked taxis to and from the airport through them - well worth it.

The riad is located in the Medina district so it's pretty close to most of the major attractions. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast - the spiced coffee was the best and most refreshing coffee I've ever tasted in my life! The night manager Abdou was very helpful and friendly, he made the stay a very enjoyable experience.

Cons: I might have been spoilt by soft, puffy duvets too much - I found the fabric of the blanket a bit prickly and uncomfortable as a whole. The room also felt a bit cold in the winter even with air-con heating turned on. Additionally the riad is very close to a mosque so expect to be waken up by (very early) morning prayer calls! Another thing worth mentioning is that the alley ways in Medina can be pretty scary to navigate at night as it's practically a maze. There are scammers operating throughout the district 'offering' you to show you the way - BEWARE! They will aggressively ask for money!

Getting to the riad is tricky at first, but it is not bad at all after you get the hang of it. Abdou was excellent with us. He helped us understand how to get around the area with ease. He even made us an early breakfast for our trip. Avoid fake guides for the riad; they will ask as much as 200 MAD for the instructions.

Weronika

The riad itself is exactly what you would expect from seeing the photos. But what makes it truly special is the amazing hospitality of Abdou and Patrick who were ready to go above and beyond any time there was anything they could help us with; from organising an early breakfast for us at 6am to printing our boarding passes on a Sunday morning. I've traveled to nearly 30 countries and I don't think I've ever met more caring staff.

Cons: No minuses really, but things to keep in mind: - Wifi was a bit slow - absolutely not a problem for us as we didn't use it anyway, but just something to bear in mind in case you need it more for your stay - No hair dryer (or at least there wasn't any in our room - and to be frank, we didn't ask the staff if they had any) - The organised airport transfer dropped us off about a 5-minute walk from the riad - that's 5 minutes once we learned our way through the little streets of Marrakesh - it took us about 10-15 minutes of wandering around to find the place when we first arrived. We arrived during the day and as a couple, so that wasn't really an issue, but should have I traveled alone (female) and/or at night, I would have felt way more intimidated by the surroundings.

If you want a place to stay that is in the medina, but far enough away thag you can actually get some rest at night, this is for you. Please do not hesitate to book here for an authentic riad stay.

The property was beautiful, my room was on the main floor behind a nested door. It was tight, but a beds a bed and this room had 2. The bathroom was separated from the main room by a curtain, which is awkward no matter who you’re staying with. But they can wait in the cozy main area or use the bathroom there if needed. Still, a door would’ve been great 😅 The room has a strict no-drinks policy, but water was available for purchase from the Riad. A nice light breakfast with coffee was included with the room. The room has an Ac unit which did its best and got the room down to 21C and kept it there. Patrick, the manager, was an absolute gem. He was incredibly accommodating, and very helpful, as was his aid Abdou. Both are absolute gentlemen. The riyad was about a 15 minute walk from the taxi stop, and 30 minutes from the old market and all the good shopping and restaurants. What I DIDNT like were the young men who would try and convince me the main route to the riad is “closed”, then after taking me the long way, asked for $10. I fell for it the first time, but they tried this every time I passed them. That’s why I deducted a star.

Riad is located at the northern part of the old medina which seems to be a bit quieter than the southern part closer to the Djemaa el fna. Riad entrance is a bit tricky to find even though it's located at the bigger street. Door has a small sign yes but still maybe it could have a bigger or more visible sign perhaps? Rooms and the riad in general are immaculate and well equipped! Close to the riad is a mosque and in the evenings the people sitting at the entrance of the mosque were shouting something to western people walking by so that was a bit unpleasant and scary. Marrakech medina in general is quite a shady place at dark since there's not enough lighting and some alleys are pitch black. Otherwise the location of the riad is very good as there is max 10min walk to ATM, taxi stand, restaurants and a day tour pick up point. What makes this riad fantastic is its staff, mostly Mr. Abdou. He did everything to make your stay and trip better and more pleasant. He provided lots of information and maps and instructions and directions and was available basically 24/7 for hotel customers needs. Early breakfast? Abdou took care of it. Forgot to buy water from medina? Abdou took care of it. Wanna cut your fingernails but don't have the clippers? Abdou went to buy the clippers and brought to your room in 10mins. This man is the embodiment of hospitality. If the riad owner reads this please give my compliments (and possibly a raise) to Abdou!

Nice Riad, nice decor. Abdou was especially amazing. Really cared about my safety and helped in every way possible - Thank You! My biggest let down is that the owner is smoking non stop at the center of the place, and the smoke smell goes everywhere including the room. If you are out and about all day you may not notice it at all. Note that all payments need to be in cash at the property, so come prepared. All in all, a very nice place and nice staff.

It’s the people that make this riad so special. They couldn’t be more helpful. It’s located in the tranquil northern part of the medina and has everything you need. Do try and eat here at least one evening during your stay, the choice is small but the tagines are delicious. But make sure you are hungry - the portions are sumptuous. A big thank you to everyone for a great introduction to Moroccan hospitality.

Price was unbeatable. The location was good. At first, I thought that the area wasn't safe, but it wasn't true. Great place to stay because of proximity to very good restaurants, e.g. Nomad, Limoni, etc.

Cons: Well, I found it a bit odd that we had to give the key back to the reception everytime we leave. That wasn't too uncomfortable weird, not sure about reasoning behind it. It was also a bit cold in the room, but generally speaking, it was a great stay.

The riad is nicely decorated and has a cool vibe about it. The top terrace is worth checking out if you check in here. The property is located in the North of the Medina and whilst maybe not ideal to explore the touristy areas, the neighbourhood has an authentic feel about it and you can get to walk the entire souk. Staff is very nice and helpful. We had a tour booked early and they were nice enough to prepare breakfast for us earlier.

It’s an excellent Riad. The room was small but comfortable. Air-condition, television, shower. The room was cleaned every morning when I was away. They provide a delicious breakfast (included in the price) and if you like dinner at a reasonable price. All the staff was friendly and helpful. In general it’s an excellent accommodation.

It is not a hotel its called Riad an old house with 5 rooms only the main gate is 1.5M watch your head no way you can reach it using google or apple maps even though you are very close. the guy we asked about how to reach requested 100 MAD to tell u how to reach there. windows only on corridors if you open people can see you inside no external windows no ventilation or window in toilet no door for the toilet if your partner uses it you will hear and smell lighting is poor you have to wait 5 min to get the hot water. no wifi in room

Great little B&B in the old medina of Marrakech. Confortable and clean, and very close from the old bazaars (sooks), yet far from the noisy traffic. The management can facilitate daily trips to nearby (and not-so-near) sites at reasonable prices with a reliable service provider. Delicious moroccan evening meals can be ordered, preferably a day in advance. The night attendant is extremely helpful, willing to help if you are lost in town or looking for quality meals.

The Riad is a beautiful Morrocan oasis in the midst of the old medina. At the time of our stay the Riad was quite cold. No restaurants nearby. Not a great location to find in the old medina. The hosts were great to provide guided tours through the medina to the Plaza however it was still difficult to find. Breakfast was included. Room was clean and comfortable.

The service was beyond compare. I have stayed in 5 star hotels and this Riad's service beat all of them by far. The owners went out of the way to ensure we were comfortable, know the local culture, and educate us on tourist traps to avoid. The only thing I would say is the location is about a 15-20 min walk from the markets which is not bad but wish it was a bit closer. However, the trade off is that you get a nice cozy and quiet getaway from the noisy market. Definitely highly recommended.

the riad is situated in the far north part of Medina, meaning at least 30 Dirhams to go to the center or 20-25 min walk from grand place. the patio was very beautiful and the owners very helpful indeed. However, the room was ridiculously small, we had to report issue with hot water every day while if you re thinking of taking a 1-2 day trip, do not go for their tour operator. He was completely untrustworthy, while considering that it won't be a tour guided excursion , you could the same trip on your own, by bus or go for another operator. There are plenty in the old city. Of course do not count on internet connection in the rooms.

I love the hotel and the staff. The only "cons" you need to be aware off is that location is very far from the plaza and area is not as "safe" as suppose to be.... also another things you to be aware of is that hotel does not have a fridge and drinks outside are not allow, which means you have to consume the beers or wine from the hotel. beside that is a really nice place to stay and relax. You will have a true Marrakech experience and feel like a local as you navigate the tunnels and paths to the town square. Take the Hotel Shuttle for your first trip. Plenty to do within walking distance, great bakeries, tanneries, etc. Hotel staff is great, particularly the inn keeper at night. Abdel stays up and waits for you or meets you to walk you back. He makes the greatest tea and has the best suggestions for things to do or items to purchase. The staff arranges for your excursions. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and well decorated. I felt very safe. I highly recommend eating at the riad's restaurant if you are tired or short on time. Very convenient, great value, and delicious.

Tip: hotel us hard to find the first time and requires walking through the town if your taxi driver doesn't know the back way, so use the hotel shuttle from the airport or train station. The night porter, Abdel, is very friendly and helpful. He takes time to help plan your day and includes tips on what to expect to pay. He also makes the best Moroccan whiskey. Great dinner and breakfast

What this place may lack in convenience of location it totally makes up for in hospitality. The staff were very accommodating, friendly, and concerned about your well being. They even gave me medicine for when I got sick! This is a very personable place - and for that reason it is great for the solo traveler. The dinner was amazing, too. There are only a few rooms, so I was able to enjoy the terrace and lounge area by myself! It's located a bit further from where the action is, which makes you feel more immersed with the locals. Only drawback was that it is a bit difficult to find your way back to the place at night.

We loved our stay! The riad and our hosts running the riad were amazing and so helpful - they led us to the market, helped us book tours, get taxis, etc. Great breakfast that I looked forward to, beautiful hotel & decorations, loved the patio on the top of the building. It *is* in old town, which is different from new town and takes some getting used to for a westerner - as long as that's the part of the city you want to stay in, I'd say Riad Lapis Lazuli is an excellent choice! :)

This is a fantastic little Riad right on the edge of the souks in the Medina. It is a short walk to get to the souks and heart of the Medina and also a short walk to get out and visit the new town and outside attractions. We travel a lot and from the moment that we were picked up at the airport and whisked away to the riad we knew we had scored. The welcome was lovely, intimate and redolent of times lost when people had time for each other and an altruistic act was the norm. We were fed a lovely tagine which we had requested and shown to a lovely clean traditional room. Going out and about was an adventure and coming back to the Riad was always a surprise as there are many routes you can take through alleys, roads or through squares to attain sanctuary from the heat and bustle (we went in October). A nice glass of wine in the evening on the beautiful roof and relaxing with a book was a welcome end to a day of hustle, bustle and various sensual assaults on the eyes, ears, nose ! A really beautiful riad, with lovely attentive and knowledgeable staff whose linguistic skills encompass, English, French, Arabic, Spanish , Arabic and last but not least Berber. The owners are European so you will find that there expectations will be similar to your own and there will be no cultural issues. We liked it so much that we are returning there after Xmas.

If youre staying in a riad/dar its always a challenge to locate it initially because it is situated inside of maze-like Medina. But you can easily get the ins and outs once you arrived in there. Riad, was surprisingly laid back and calm as opposed to its outside surroundings. Clean and comfortable with accomodating staff. WiFi only works dining area though. Whatever stress you might encounter while exploring marrakesh, this is a perfect place to stay.

We arrived in Marrakesh airport on a HOT day. Thank God, we booked a cab driver with the hotel! Never would have found it on our own in that wilting heat! But enter the riyad. We were welcomed with soothing mint tea in this tranquil covered courtyard by Laurent, looking into this beautiful, blue foot pool. Our room was spacious, comfortable, beautiful! Patrick cooked us a fish tagine that was one of the best meals EVER! This riyad is a wonderful oasis with easy access to the frenzy of the Marrakesh marketplace. The view from roof was tranquil, exquisite. We are grateful to have spent four nights at Lapis-Lazuli. Wish it could have been a week. Hope to return with family.

Quiet riad in a quiet area of Marrakech, away from noise and the hustle and bustle. A bit too far to walk through the maze of the souqs to Jemma el Fna especially after dark but you can get a taxi for a couple of euros close by in Bab Tagzouht and be there in 5 minutes. Good hot showers and ample breakfast provided. TV in B/W if that bothers you.

I spent my first night in Marrakech here and I'm so pleased I did. It was the perfect introduction to the city. The riad is very attractive and comfortable, and everyone at Riad Lapis-Lazuli was exceptionally kind and helpful. On arrival, I decided I'd like to stay more than for the single night I'd booked. As there was no room, Patrick instantly telephoned a neighbouring riad and negotiated an excellent price for me to stay. I would definitely stay at Riad Lapiz-Azuli again. A real gem of a place!

This Riad was amazing, it was beautiful and clean. The staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. It was very good value for money!! The only slight downside was the location, it was a little walk out of the main square, so if you're sense of direction is not the best, or if you are a woman staying on their own it might be best to get somewhere closer. However, in hindsight, this would not put me off from staying again.

We loved our stay at Riad Lapis-Lazuli. In fact, we liked it so much we extended our stay there one more night just so we could enjoy the Riad longer. The staff are incredible - so friendly!- and the Riad itself is beautiful (both the main area and the rooms), clean, and a great place to relax. We loved waking up everyday to an amazing breakfast and also enjoyed the delicious home cooked dinner at the Riad twice. The Riad is located a 15 minute walk from the main square, which I thought was great - the neighborhood was peaceful and quiet. On the first morning, Laurent, one of the owners, showed us the way to the main square, as well as good places to visit and eat. The Riad also organizes tours, which was very convenient. I highly recommend this Riad to anyone traveling to Marrakech. We look forward to going back soon!

This was a lovely, tranquil place to stay. The owner was extremely helpful about giving directions and advice, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Be sure to arrange an airport pickup with him - through a miscommunication (our fault) we ended up in a taxi, who didn't know where the riad was and ripped us off. The bathroom was very nice with a spacious shower -squeamish couples should know that the bathroom door is just a curtain, though. (Not a problem for us, but may be for others. ) This riad is a fifteen minute walk from the souks, and we enjoyed getting out of the madness and watching the stars from the rooftop terrace. Would definitely recommend.

Myself and a friend turned up here at midnight, thinking we had a booking with Riad Lapiz Lazuli. However after waking up one of the members of staff, he graciously took us in despite us having no booking, made us mint tea, showed us around and gave us a wonderful room. Following this he also got up at 6 in the morning to make us breakfast and book us onto an excursion. We were overwhelmed by how brilliantly we were looked after. The Riad itself was lovely, away from the main roads and with a gorgeous roof terrance, a really authentic feel and beautiful furniture. We had a fantastic traditional breakfast in the morning, and to top it all off the lovely member of staff ensured we had water and toiletries for our excursion with no cost whatsoever. We couldn't have had a better experience here.

Had a great time in Marrakech and a great base from riad lapis lazuli! The service was top notch, included a guided trip to the local souk so we can buy a Tagine without hassle. We were always greeted with a welcoming smile each morning at breakfast and each time we returned to the riad. Highly recommend this riad; only thing to highlight is it is a 15 mins walk to the busier tourist areas and 25 mins walk to the square. Not an issue if you like to seeing a local residential area in the medina, which we very much enjoyed!

My sister and I spent two nights here. We were given a warm welcome and mint tea while checking in. Our room was darling, we were given a wake up knock when we had to get up early, breakfast was great, and they have a beautiful rooftop terrace that I wish we could have spent more time on. The gentleman who works the evening/overnight shift was absolutely wonderful. He was so kind helping us get out of a bind with some locals who showed us to the riad (*really pay close attention the the streets if you plan on walking home or take their advice and take a taxi!!) and teaching us how to make mint tea. I would definitely recommend staying here!

As previous reviews stated, the riad is at least 20 minutes walk from the main square which isn't a problem although there is a high possibility of getting lost. The walk into the square is through the souk and partly through a normal neighbourhood with beggars. This is quite interesting and there is a lovely bakery in this road which has Morrocan petit fours at a third if the price of the ones in the square. The riad was OK but the breakfasts disappointing being quite basic and the same every day. I expected a selection of French pastries at least. We had the room on the ground floor which is directly off the communal area and this made it noisy as people used it for making phone calls and socialising. Also it was damp especially after rain. The owners were helpful and walked us into the main square on the first day. For the cost it was reasonable.

Riad Lapis Lazuli is perhaps the most pretty, unique and well managed place we have ever stayed. From the moment you are greeted with a smile and Mint tea, you know your stay will be special. The Riad has lovely individually styled rooms and a beautiful overall Moroccan décor. A small way from the city centre means a good nights sleep in the quieter Northern district of the Medina. In a city of fast pace and hassle, this is exactly the hotel you want to come home to. It is beautiful in the common areas (lobby/hangout area with WiFi, Rooftop terrace) and also in the room. When we arrived, the owner gave us great advice about cabs and pricing and how to handle the locals, etc...something other Riads WONT DO! The location is central Medina, but it is VERY easy to get to the plaza and the owners even walked us the first time to make sure we knew where to go. GREAT experience and price is well worth every penny. My girlfriend and I went and loved it...even made some friends while we were there and shared a nice bottle of wine one night.

I can not say enough about Riad Lapis Lazuli. It is perfection. The staff go out of their way to be helpful. The owners Lawrence and Patrick shower you with kindness and hospitality that I have never experienced before in my travels. Its genuine hospitality, none of the fake stuff. There is so much joking and humor in the main lobby its simply electric. From the Moroccan way to pour tea to asking for more bread, each interaction is a rewarding experience. Dinner at the hotel is the best you will find. We ate there every night! Our room was immaculate, our bed was extremely comfortable and there were no noise or light issues. We slept like children. The commonly stated draw back to this Riad is its location. I claim that its perfectly located away from the souks and the square and that your trip to the main square takes you through real Marrakech. Its nothing to be frightened of, its all part of the experience. I can not recommend Riad Lapis Lazuli enough! Do not hesitate to book your vacation in Marrakech there now!

We are well seasoned, young (30s), child free travellers having backpacked around the world and taking regular escapes. We had read about Marrakech and two likely situations would arise 1- we'd get lost 2 - we'd get hassled to buy/begged from etc. Neither have been an issue in previous countries like Thailand but a large number (not all) of the locals were aggressive in their approach. Less so in the souks etc but ransoms on the street trying to give you directions even when you don't want them. This is somewhat expected but took place to the extent where it ruined the experience and would not return. At night, it was much worst, which links with getting lost/location if hotel. Marrakech is a maze and if you don't like the idea, don't go, but it can be fun. But not at night when multiple people are trying to direct you to the point they threatened each other and us. It made for an unpleasant experience. As the Riad is a good 20-30 min walk away from J'maf'naa you need to know your route. The hotel provide so e direction but my one piece of advice would be to leave in daytime and re-trace your steps after 5 mins. Once you are sure of the route to a main road you should be fine. Keep small denominations of coins equivalent to 10p-50p to fend off aggressive beggars/as sisters. The the riad itself is clean, pleasant, nice but basic breakfast, very pleasent staff. We're it not for location I would not hesitate in returning.

This Riad is rough around the edges and everything is kinda well worn. We had ants in our room and there were strange smells coming from the bathroom also the bedding was very old. However we loved our stay here. It was very quiet and relaxing which is great for Marrakech. There is only a few rooms. The roof terrace was amazing and we used it everyday to look over the rooftops to the mountains. The staff were great, the breakfast basic but adequate. The place is impossible to find first time so ask a kid from the street and give a few pennys (dont listen to him asking for more). You will learn the way after the second or third time.

We really enjoyed the staff and our room. The owners and staff could not have been kinder, even though they spoke mostly French and we speak mostly English. the room was comfortable and the bathroom spacious. We stayed in two other riads in Marrakech and while this one had the most comfortable bed and nicest room, for us the location cancelled that out. It is a bit of a hike to the square and souk and we did not have any luck finding much in the way of food stalls or restaurants near the riad. Three other things to note about the riad, which you may consider downsides or irrelevant - the music being played all day in the courtyard was radio so there were the normal ads and talk radio in the morning. The wifi only works in the courtyard not in rooms. The owners do smoke inside the riad. Its large and airy so not too bad, but if you're sensitive to smoke you will notice.

Everything was perfect - the owners and manager were so accommodating, helpful and lovely, the room was beautiful and comfortable, and the price was excellent! The only 2 things to be known are that the swimming pool is not really for swimming (in that it is located in the central dining area) and the breakfast could use a little improvement with some fresh fruit or other such options...but otherwise, such a beautiful small Riad!

The riad is great and the staff are amazing, they really made our stay comfortable. It's clean and the food is good, if not the best we had in marrakech. The street is a bit noisy and there is no bathroom door in the room (this might be the case for all riads, we don't know). They serve alcohol, which is handy in medina, but it is priced a bit high (i.e. 3 euros for a small bottle of beer and 12 euros for a bottle of wine). The owner showed us the most direct way to the central square on our first morning which made our navigation around the medina much easier! We would recommend it.

Our stay at this Riad was wonderful, the people there were helpful and always greeted you with a smile. Bar a hiccup with the train pickup and subsequent dealings with our first 'faux guide' this was a great place to stay. Our room felt a little damp, but then having a shower without a window or extractor fan is bound to leave some moisture! Breakfast every morning was great and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent riad in Marrakech. Sort of place to stay if you want the traditional experience. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean. Food was also very good. Only issue is the location which is quite far north of the main city square and not the nicest walk to the riad late at night, but taxis are very cheap (after haggling...)

The staff was very helpful and the place was well decorated and extremely clean! We felt like we stayed with family and the food that you could order cooked by the riad's chef was magical, so you have the option of cosy nights in;)

This riad was great in every way. The staff was helpful from the very first moment of our trip to the very last. We stayed four nights and never tired of the place. The room was small, but comfortable and very clean. There was unlimited hot water and even a tv, though it only had two channels of news. Literally the only downside to this riad is that it's located in the medina, which can feel very sketchy at night (it's not at all dangerous, but is unsettling even for a small group). We overcame this by just taking a taxi to a square about 150m from the hotel and walking from there. I would recommend this riad to anyone visiting Marrakesh. Just be prepared to take a taxi home at night!

We have just returned from 4 nights at the Riad Lapis Lazuli and absolutely loved it. The Riad is a wonderfully decorated and beautifully maintained. The two owners are extremely hospitable and Abdou, who works the nights is an absolute star, for whom no request is too much. Would definitely recommend this Riad to anybody looking to go to Marrakech. The only downside was that our room (Safi) was very small - this is not however an issue with the other rooms, so if you steer clear of Safi, your stay will be perfect!

Amazing hospitality! The staff was incredible. They went above and beyond their duties. I would highly recommend eating dinner at the hotel. My favorite was the couscous, but I have to warn you that the dish is huge!

Me and my friend stayed at the Riad for 5 nights. We started off with booking one night while we were in Agadir, but after five minutes at the Riad, we booked four more! Amazing atmosphere and outstanding service and help from warm and welcoming staff with lots of knowledge about Marrakesh! Another surprise was the food at the Riad. I had been in Marrocco for two weeks and eaten alot of Taginas. The tagina at the Riad was by far the best! The Riad exceeded all our expectations! An absolutely beautiful and wonderful Riad, a Marroccan dream!

Owners smoke to the extreme and the ventalation is poor so unless you smoke, don't book. Nice rooms with air conditioning. Hot water most of the time. Beds clean and hard. Excellent breakfast with great staff. Don't speak english so it would help if you spoke french. Always felt safe and secure. Plan on walking a long way to the square. Kids loved it when they could breath.

This Riad is found in the north of the Medina, a 5 minute taxi ride to the main square, or a 25 minute walk through the streets. This makes an interesting walk and it is easy to get lost - we had 4 maps and still got lost all the time!! though after a while we knew our way back easily and even showed a taxi driver the way! The taxi drops you off a 2 minute walk from the Riad, and then you walk through little alleys - take care not to accept someones 'help' to show you back - they will expect money! 2 men were unhappy when we offered them 2 euro's as we had no change on us - Abdul (from the Riad) had to have words with them and send them away - a little scary on our first night! Best to get a taxi back at night - only 30 morrocan - £3! Rooms in the riad are all lovely - we went for a nosey as we were the only ones there on one day! Lovely terrace to chill out on at night and have a cold beer! The owners were friendly and Abdul was very very helpful, though non spoke much english and we speak no french so we all muddled through!

I was greatly impressed with my room that was decorated in a traditional morrocan theme. The theme was echoed in the court yard downstairs. The service was fantastic and Patrick took great care in greeting and assisting his guests. The only negative comment-the location is a bit of a walk from the main square, but otherwise overall a great stay!

Despite the riad's location this was still an excellent choice. The owners - Patrick and Laurent are very good and always happy to help although the star employee just has to be Abdou who is ready to help at any time of day or night. The riad is clean and beautifully presented and they are happy to arrange for day tours with excellent drivers. Our trip to Ouzerzazte was brilliant and the driver Hassan was great. The only downsides would be 1. the veggie tagine that they do is a bit bland 2. they only speak french 3. breakfast is only baguette and juice/coffee. Finally a warning about the location - whilst its not threatening it is a long way from the souks and square and you WILL get lost. Moroccon youths are only too willing to assist even if you tell them no. In one incident one teenager wanted 50 dirhams just for walking with us back from the souks. He refused the offer of 20 dirhams and threatened violence when we would not pay. Needless to say I didnt pay and he just swore at me instead. If you do get lost and need help back to the riad then ensure that you agree a price upfront and do not let them walk along with you.

We stayed at the lovely Riad Lapis-Lazuli over the Easter holidays. I agree with another review about the location of the riad especially at night (although we didn't experience any problems) but on the plus side it gave us the opportunity to see real Moroccan life which was really interesting. The riad was beautifully decorated and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and in my opinion served the best mint tea in Marrakech! We stayed here when the Icelandic volcano was erupting and the staff were exceptionally supportive and flexible with the constant changes. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone and i will definitely be recommending it to all my friends.

Nice riad, very friendly staff. We were welcomed by the owner with a cup of mint tea. I would definitely stay there again. Location is not great as it is somewhat far from the "Place Jemaa el Fna" (about 25 mins walk). Breakfast included is fine i.e. toast and tea. Room is ok (need no more), we got an issue with the shower and they fixed it immediately. We requested a dinner service and it was great. The only issue we had is that the surrounding neighborhood is not great specially at night, we got lost and couldn't find the riad as it doesn't even have a lightbulb at the front and it's somewhat hidden. If staying there again, I'd book the taxi from the hotel at a specified time to avoid getting lost!
