What a wonderful experience staying here in such a unique place. Individually decorated rooms (Ghita room was divine) providing a tranquil haven amidst the frenzy of the medina. Friendly and welcoming staff who clearly take pride in their work too.

This place is a real palace, all sophisticated decorations made a pleasant experience to stay there. In addition the quality of the food served in the restaurant was excellent, always with live music, we didnât look for another restaurant during our stay in Fes.In addition the exceptional view of the Medina was impressive. We arrived by train to Fes and took a petit taxi for a couple of dollars to this place. I was impressed for pictures of many personalities that stayed in this palace. Definitely I recommend it 100%

This is an amazing place to stay in Fes, my best accomodation for this trip which included Azores, Madeira and Morocco. I found this booking stupendous for the 5 star treatment I got from the Palais staff. Spotless and gorgeous palatial accomodation. I can't believe I got this for my early booking last October 2020.This is the best time to stay in this hotel especially as tourism is only restarting after the covid pandemic. The hotel will make sure you have all the luxury care even before you realize you badly needed it, like cold water bottle in your room after a hot day's tour. Loved Fes and it has everything to offer a photographer and cultural traveller.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great restaurant, though not cheap. The included breakfast was also incredible. We arrived around 1100 on our check in day, and when they realized we would be checking out too early the next day for breakfast they went ahead and made one for us right then for us to eat as lunch ( we were hungry coming in from an early flight). The best part of the hotel is the location, as you are 50 meters from a road but also right next to the pedestrian only medina. Great view as well. We also really enjoyed the lobby area and the chess board. Look for the turtles on the terrace near the restaurant.

The staff at this hotel are really thoughtful, we had to catch a CTM bus the following day at 7am and a member of staff knocked on our door 30 mins before leaving to give us some take away breakfast and fresh orange juice - we couldn't have been more grateful as finding somewhere to eat at that hour would've been a nightmare and we were fairly hungry. The hotel itself is a Riad so it has a very grand feel to it, our room door alone was like a palace's door. Be prepared for stairs though, in any Riad there are loads of stairs.... but the hotel staff help you with taking your luggage up you just tip them some Dirhams. Overall the rooms are clean as we stayed in two different ones and I would recommend this place to stay.

After using the GPS and asking locals, we found the Riad. Everybody at the Riad was amazing specially Samira who treated us just like family. The staff helped us with the luggage and parked the car for us as the parking lot was half a kilometer away. Breakfast was included and was a home cooked Moroccan style breakfast. We had dinner once on their terrace with a great view. The food was great. We were just outside the Racf Gate and walked into the Medina from the Riad.

First impression was good but wait for the stay. The room probably hasn't been cleaned from dust for a year. You smell dust everywhere beds, pillows, furniture, carpet and floor. The bathroom is disgusting. There is difference between old and authentic and ruins and smells. My wife took the decision no one is allowed to take a shower that night and we should wait for the next city. The basin is broken, the toilet smells and make sounds of water dribbling. The shower stop you thinking of stepping into it. The food at the resturant was good quality, the garden where you eat was very nice. The price is probably overpriced but it depends on your budget. For couscous 110 dirham around 9 gbp. The breakfast was free included in the price but it was very very basic I have no intention to go back to meknas but if I do I will not stay there. The staff are nice

From the moment we arrived we were treated extremely well. Anything we needed was taken care of including one of the hotel workers walking us through the medina to a shop where we could get our cell phone SIM card and he helped us through the transaction. Our room was large and comfortable and well decorated. The view from the terrace was amazing. We opted to have dinner thereafter it was delicious. We highly recommend this Riad if you are going to Fes.

If you just need a place to crash, this will suffice. However, it's nothing like its description. Perhaps it was at one time, but now it's in serious need of some TLC. The room itself was small. It has 3 twin beds, but even with two of us, it was cramped. There was a distinct smell of mildew, and you could hear the street noise as if you were standing outside. The windows offered no barrier. The location is not the best either. It says it's in the medina, but you need a taxi to get anywhere worth seeing. The restaurant and staff were pleasant, however, and the view from the terrace is nice. Food is quite expensive here. While free WiFi is available, service is shoddy. This was our third riad in Morocco and was easily the least desirable of the three. Riad Pachavana in Marrakech and Dar el Kebira in Rabat were both fantastic. I highly recommend both of them, but you should skip Palais de Fes.

This hotel has very friendly staff and a gorgeous terrace with a magnificent view of the Medina. Basically it's the terraces in one. The AC was adequate and the also provided water everyday to us. The hotel is next to a main street and a main gate, so it's easy to use a taxi to get around. By meter during the day, the taxi fare is 13 dirham to the train station and 9 dirham to the blue gate attraction. I'd recommend this hotel to all travelers

This was our first stay in Riyadh. The entrance is simply a door in an unadorned wall. Wow......all I can say is Wow!!!!! I've stayed at some nice hotels, but this one is by far the best experience we had. Upon entering the Riyadh we were mesmerised with the places beauty and really felt we were in morocco. The staffs were all welcoming as our luggage was taken to our room and once we had sorted the paperwork were served with fresh Mint tea on top of the hotel roof. The hotel location is perfect as you can enjoy he beauty of old city and is convenient closed to taxi stand where you can catch taxis if you need to go exploring. Although we were there for 4 days we felt the stay was very short and really would have liked to stay longer as we all enjoyed the stay so much due to the Riyadh and the service we received from staff. The staff from cleaning ladies to restaurant waiters to management all were very friendly and did all they could to make our experience a memorable. The breakfast was included in stay and was best breakfast we had in morocco. We had dinner couple of nights in the restaurant and the quality of the food was excellent; and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. For entertainment the hotel had arrange a local musician who were very entertaining and enhance the experience of lovely. I can't possibly say enough about how wonderful this Riyadh is. Every detail was perfect. Look forward to returning again.

We had a great stay at this excellent location. The riad is beautiful and well decorated with very nice top city view while eating breakfast or dinner. The food at this riad's restaurant is possibly the best we tried in Fes (highly recommended). The staffs are very hospitable and friendly to us. They even offered us 2 boxes of special cookies that we loved for free. However, our driver and tour guides were very troubled and offended that they were not welcome inside here when trying to get a hold of us for our meeting, nor their messages was passed on quickly. They were not allowed to wait inside (by the way there is no phone in the rooms here). We had several miscommunications/misappointments with our driver/guides in the 3 days stay. We noticed also when a local shop delivery came to see us, he was rushed out and very closely monitored. It was really odd. Just be sure to have a way/phone to communicate with your contacts here and you'll be ok.

We were pleasantly surprised about the beauty of the hotel. It's an old mansion (dar) converted to a hotel. The lobby area, terraces, public rooms, and restaurant area are beautiful. Most of the staff were excellent - kind, friendly and helpful - especially Samira Idriss, the Guest Relations Executive. And the chefs and their moroccan foods - heaven!! If you want to stay near or in the medina of Fes, this is the place to stay. The only negative is the rooms are dark and poorly-lit.

We went to Fes for 3 days on holiday. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, probably even nicer than the palaces in Marrakech that we visited! I would absolutely recommend staying here.

Our family stayed here 3 nights in November. The name of the hotel isn't an exaggeration -- it really is several-hundred-year-old palace. The traditional decor is incredible detailed and breathtaking. The hotel restaurant on the beautiful terrace offers a panoramic view of the Fes medina. The food itself is intricate and appetizing. There's even live music during dinner. Ghita (the manager) and the staff made sure we had a terrific stay in Fes. She gave us advice on travel, arranged for transport in the city, answered our myriad questions on Moroccan culture and art, sent us tea and fabulous desserts, and accommodated all our requests. We were absolutely pampered. Here's a tip: take their recommendation on hammams! I travel frequently for both work and play (spent >50 nights in hotels this year), and this was my best hotel experience in 2014.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Hotel is housed in a traditional riad, very beautiful, but there are a lot of steps, quite steep too to get to the rooms, dining area. Service from the housekeeping and dining room staff members was excellent - very helpful and courteous. Location on the edge of the medina is good, but one can get lost in the medina with its maze of streets. Dining options around the hotel are limited. We ate at the hotel one night and loved the feast of ten salads. Breakfast served at the hotel was quite big and delicious. We took a hotel arranged transfer from the train station, but the hotel is in a prominent location and one can manage to get a petit taxi for 20 Dh. We took the guide to the Medina, half day is plenty as you can't see inside most of the monuments if you are not Muslim, you will get taken to various shops and the shop keepers will push for a sale, we dodged most but the leather goods shop forced us to buy an overpriced coin purse which left a bad taste in the mouth. Not much to see in the new city as most things are not open to public. Overall hotel stay is good but there is not much to see or do in Fes for non Muslims.

Situated conveniently across the old medina but area was filthy and super busy. Once inside the building it became quiet and the staff there is wonderful...very kind and helpful. A word of warning though,do not use the "guide" offered to sightsee the medina. He was in cahoots with the merchants...we were trapped in a carpet salesroom for almost an hour although we said over and over again we were not interested. I finally stood up and walked out and told our guide to bring us back to our hotel. INFURIATING!

This hotel is in the heart of all the action, close to the medina gate. Decor is beautiful, old fashioned and traditional. The room that we stayed in had one window that opened up to a concrete wall therefore very claustrophobic to my wife. If you are used to modern, open airy accommodations this is not the place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking is not very convenient, and takes a 10 minute walk from the (paid/guarded, although âopenâ) parking. More then elsewhere we got harassed by guys wanting to âhelpâ, and in this case that wasnât so bad, as we now got help carrying our suitcases from the parking to the hotel. Breakfast/dining area provides a beautiful view of the old city, and is pleasant to sit in covered open area. Check out I advise to arrange the evening before leaving, as we almost missed our departure time as the lady manager/owner(?) didnât come in until 10AM and the doorman seemed clueless about the checkout process and there is no reception per se in the hotel, just the managers office.

I really enjoyed my stay at this ryad. The room furnishings were beautiful . And the view of the medina from the upper terraces was awesome. I took the bigger of the rooms offered and it was quite a climb to get there , but so worth it.. Also I had read some things here about the staff being pushy , but I did not have that experience at all. Everyone was very nice to me and showed me a lot of respect. There are cheap restaurants across the street and in the madina. But the restaurant at the hotel is excellent and at night they have entertainment

Hotel sits in the medina just across the street from the souks. The staff at this riad was as helpful and friendly as any hotel I've stayed at in my extensive travel history. Samira, who runs the staff at the riad, is a jewel. What a wonderful lady! Her staff is also first rate. The restaurant, which has breathtaking views, is fantastic and the attention you receive can not be matched. Our only disappointment wasn't really the riad's fault. They helped us hire an official guide to take us through the souks. The guide was great until he took is into a carpet shop where we got the hard-sell pitch to buy something. it was obvious the guide was in cohoots with the carpet pitchman, who was a big-time jerk. Just turned into an uncomfortable experience but nothing we didn't quickly forget thanks to Samira and this outstanding riad.

A wonderful building to stay in and the room and bathroom we had were great - loved the ornate decoration. Building's a bit of a maze, but adds to the charm. Nice terrace serving an extensive breakfast (included in the price) with a view of the city (although dinner menu's looked relatively expensive so we ate out inside the Medina (which is can be difficult to do at night so required a bit of hunting and an early meal. Location is best for access into the old Medina. Staff were friendly.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The location was great, just outside one of the gates to the Medina. The hotel staff were exceptional, very friendly and always provided good suggestions. Breakfast was provided daily with more than enough food. The rooms were beautiful/traditional riad with authentic decor. Showers always had hot water. The guides mention it has one of the best terraces in Fes, this I would agree with, the view of the Medina is stunning from here.

Amazing place that takes your breath away - the large courtyard packed with colorful carpets, the incredible zellij everywhere, the towering pillars, the stucco, stained glass, multiple terrace balconies, multiple sections for quiet dinners or reading, just great. The rooms were tastefully done, the place is a classic villa from the bygone days which you can easily relive. The chefs were kind cooperative to our and our kids tastes. The live music all evening to late night is a bonus, and the sights, sounds, smells of the medina very inviting from luxurious quarters. There are only 8 rooms, each unique in its own way and tucked away in a particular corner off of a central courtyard, just amazing how the people in the past lived here. Managers/staff were very helpful with directions, sending us to the right hammams or getting the right tour guides. Even the Reagans were guests here, if you like such stats.

We had reserved a smaller room, which appeared nice, but shortly after arriving were given an upgrade to a larger room due to a last minute cancellation. It was a large room, with a comfortable double bed, two divans, separate bathroom and two small closets. Temps were in the upper 40's and the portable heating unit worked well. Room had its own router and WiFi reception was good. Room has its own hot water heater, so a hot shower only lasts about 6-7 minutes. Food from the attached restaurant was excellent. Riad is only a 5 minute ride from the train station, and the metered taxi was equivalent to $1.50. Best of all was the personal, high quality service of the entire staff and riad's manager. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and our time in Fez was enjoyable. It was the best service I have ever received from a hotel staff.

Wonderful historic hotel in Fez. We loved the rooms, the view from the restaurant is amazing, but hotel services and restaurant are a bit too expensive for what is offered

The staff are excellent and very helpful. The location of the riad is perfect especially as it is in the Old city close to all tourist attractions. Staying in this riad will give you a real taste of Morocco and the architecture and decor within the riad is must beautiful. The views from the terraces over the old city are breathtaking and are a must see. Only issue is that people who are physically impaired or of age may find the steep stairs a problem. Not forgetting that there is no wifi in the rooms.

Be wary of the hotel reservation policy - its non-refundable. The room was extremely small - we had requested 2 double beds in the room and they had squished in 4 beds in a small 12' x 12' room. I guess most properties in the Medina are really small. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Be wary of the female in-charge - there's a lot of upsell. The hotel is very close to the central gate of the Medina Bab Rcif. There are a lot of touts as soon as you get out of the hotel. Overall, I thought the rate per night was a bit much for the room. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent. They have nice views of the Medina from the terrace/balconies.

staying in this hotel felt like staying in a museum, rooms and everything else are from a traditional house with gorgeous decoration. Staff was super helpful. Great location assuming you want to be close to the medina, but not in it.
