The hotel was disappointing overall. The rooms and facilities felt very outdated, and the swimming pool was not well cleaned and had a very slippery bottom. The room itself was dirty and in terrible condition. Service was average, and the à la carte restaurants felt more like buffet-style dining. The drinks were poor, and there was a strong, unpleasant smell in the bar next to the lobby. The only part I genuinely enjoyed was the hotel’s surroundings — lots of greenery, a quiet atmosphere, and a peaceful environment that allowed for good sleep. Unfortunately, despite the pleasant outdoor setting, I will not be returning.

This was my first "all inclusive" holiday. I have to say that I was extremely happy with the experience and resort. We did travel in the second week of November which was most probably not at the height of the holiday season which almost certainly improved the experience. The staff were very friendly and very helpful, for example we arrived quite late and the check-in receptionist postponed our check-in and directed us straight to the restaurant because the dinner service was about to end. The pool was immaculate and there were a number of water based activities arranged during the day to keep the guests occupied. We never had any issue finding a place by the pool, which could have been due to the fact that we were at the end of the season. They had three different restaurants which meant that we could try out different themes for dinner. The food was amazing with a very broad spread. Every day they had a number of free return shuttle services into Marrakech which was about 15 min from the resort.

I like that it definitely had a Moroccan vibe.

Cons: This is our second time at a Riu and we could already tell it was lower than the standard. The facilities were visibly rundown. The AC kept making a weird noise that was never fixed and some nights the hot water wouldn’t work in my mom’s room. We had to go get her a new key at least 5 times cause it wouldn’t work as well. The food was also subpar. But the most annoying thing was that they didn’t have an iron in any of the rooms and we spend the entire stay asking for one without ever getting it. Apparently they only had a few to share amongst guests and it was never available.

Family of four we stayed for 7 nights on 28th October 2025. This hotel is not as rated on TUI. It is in need of extensive renovation. Accommodation: The Bathroom is very rundown with the shower flooding the floor whilst in use. I spoke to several guests and they all had the same problem. I reported this to reception on three occasions but nothing was resolved. The Towels supplied are very worn. The exterior of the accommodation buildings are in need repair and repainting with several showing damp damage on the outer walls. Food: Whilst clean and well cooked all courses are repetitive and the desserts are limited in choice. Pool Area: There are numerous broken tiles around the main pool which is absolutely freezing despite the outside temperature being high 20s. Staff: We found all the Staff welcoming and friendly which was rewarding. I have stayed in many RUI Hotels around the world and this hotel is way below the standards of RUI. Definitely not 4 star as advertised.

We stayed here for 7 nights as a group of eight (6 adults and 2 children) across three rooms and overall our experience was mixed. The Rooms All three of our rooms were on the ground floor. Two were perfectly fine, but one was in very poor condition — a broken light, faulty door handle, fridge door hanging off, broken safe and a dirty bidet. That same room also had bugs inside, while the other two rooms didn’t. We reported all the issues to reception three times over three days and waited in the room for someone to come, but no one ever showed up. Only the fridge was replaced (on day three). Towels often smelled unpleasant, and our bedding was never changed until we removed it ourselves. Also, the separate toilet room had a terrible smell, so bring an air freshener if you can! Food & Drinks The restaurant, snack bar, and bar staff were all fantastic – super friendly, helpful and always smiling. The animation team were also amazing, really energetic and welcoming. Food was okay but quite carb-heavy. There was meat, though often overcooked and dry. On the plus side, everything seemed properly cooked and clean. We also tried the Italian à la carte restaurant, and the food there was really nice – a nice change to the buffet and the staff were very attentive throughout our meal. For drinks, make sure to ask for alcohol in cocktails, otherwise you’ll just get juice. Cups are small, so it’s worth bringing your own bottle. You get three bottles of water in your room each day, which is handy for the pool. Facilities & Grounds The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the pool area is large and relaxing with plenty of space – it never felt overcrowded. We had no problem getting front-row sun loungers by the pool to watch the kids each morning when we went down around 7:30am. However, the public toilets really need attention. Most of the flush buttons were missing, several soap dispensers were gone from the walls, and some taps didn’t work. One tap in particular was very hot, which could be dangerous for a child – I had to stop my own child from using it after realising how hot it was. Shuttle & Medina Tips If you use the free shuttle to the Medina, be careful on arrival – some “guides” may start walking with you and then expect payment. A few quick tips: ‱ Don’t take photos of animals unless you’re ready to pay. ‱ Avoid if you’re sensitive to how animals are treated. ‱ Skip the fresh juices – they’ll likely upset your stomach. Overall This hotel has a lot going for it: lovely staff, beautiful grounds, and a relaxing atmosphere. However, the poor room maintenance, bugs in one of our rooms, neglected public toilets, and lack of follow-up from reception really let it down. With better attention to maintenance and guest issues, it could easily be a fantastic place to stay. Shoutout to Sifo, Mad and Kali on the animation team. Always happy, always make time to talk to you and ask if you need anything. And also to Anime, the reception area bar man - absolutely brilliant.

Positive - Lovely staff, nice public spaces, good food. Huge rooms with comfy beds. Never had a problem getting a sunbed or umbrella. Great reasonably priced massage. Huge pool. Shuttle bus to medina which is definitely worth visiting. Big shout out to Chadi on main reception and the bar staff who were really friendly Negative - buffet restaurant repetitive, “a la carte” restaurants were buffet and we were unable to get a table during the 4 days we stayed. Alcohol all local brands and small measures (pick up some duty free to take), although bigger measures were provided on request. Public toilet areas were not good - broken soap dispenser for our full stay in main reception, broken taps, broken flush mechanisms, no lights, lack of toilet paper. Some Reception staff in spa were rude. €80 to keep the room on 4 hours. All in all we enjoyed our 4 day stay but not the standard we expect of RIU

This is the second review I've done,on this hotel. I don't know why but ,trip advisor have not been interested in printing my first one. ......we stayed in Sept 25. The room we occupied had a rotten door frame in the bathroom and cockroaches came out of it. We reported this to reception no less than four times, without any joy. Even the TUI rep tried, more than once , without anything being done. The food was very repetitive and low quality. The two,so called, feature restaurants, served the same food as the main restaurant. Drinks have little alcohol in them and if you expect a cocktail to be a cocktail, forget it. All in all it's one of the least customer friendly places we've ever stayed at. I'm surprised that TUI bother with it. I'll be surprised if trip advisor print this, as my opinion is that they only report favourable reviews. I must admit, I'm quickly loosing faith in Trip Advisor.

The grounds were nice, peaceful.

Cons: The property itself in particular the rooms were dated, there wasn’t any tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The property is too vast and we got lost going back to our room numerous times especially at night, It isn’t well sign posted. The property didn’t have an iron, I requested it 3 times on the app and it never came. If you strip away the extras like the gym, spa and entertainment, the hotel is more a 2.5 - 3 star hotel.

Pros * Staff: most of the hotel staff are superb and are always more than happy to assist * Main restaurant food is great * Bed super comfortable * Rooms are very spacious and quiet * Beautiful gardens and scenery * Cash machine (does charge you for cash) * Free shuttle bus to Marrakesh * Musician in the lobby bar was great Cons * Room conditions: although everything seemed to work in our room, we reported a couple of problems with the bathroom to reception as there was some rotting wood where water was leaking from and also the panel as part of the shower shield was very lose/wobbly. These problems were reported twice and we were told on both occasions that somebody would come to fix them however it didn't seem like anything had been done during our stay. * Entertainment: I cannot fault the energy and enthusiasm from the team themselves and this is in no way a reflection on their work ethic, however the entertainment programme hugely lacks in variety and what they offer, especially in the evening. I'm not sure if it is maybe different during the height of the summer months or if this is how it is all the time. The bingo was fun during the daytime but it could add more length and variety if part of the evening offering, as the evening only had one main show followed by a disco afterwards. * Pool was slightly colder than expected, however this could be to do with the time of year. * Speciality restaurants: this was one of the biggest disappointments... it was a buffet exactly like the main restaurant which we weren't expecting and the quality of the food was nothing special. A lot of the food on offer is very similar to what you see during lunch, so it just seems like they are just either cooking more of the same dishes they have previously served or even potentially re-heating food. The main restaurant was by far the better restaurant with much higher variety and quality of food by miles. * Lack of soap: the room was fine and it was always topped up, however in the public bathrooms there were occasions where the soap had not been topped up for several days. * Lack of working pool umbrellas. As an additional note, if you are somebody who likes to have a kettle in their room on holiday, pack one with you as they're not included in the rooms!

Rooms- 1st room then shower room absolutely stunk of sewage, 2nd room put in was fine, nice and roomy and plenty of storage. the beds are really hard. Pool- pretty cold getting in slightly bare able once in, plenty of sunbeds, they need new brollys. tiles definitely need fixing. Restaurants- breakfast, lunch, dinner all good, always something to eat. Abdullah at breakfast and evening was amazing! Morrocan restaurant- food was vile all absolutely covered in oil, same food in normal restaurant wasn't like that. Italian restaurant- absolute poor service food was over cooked. Bar staff were all lovely and friendly. Entertainment, repetitive in day, some of Entertainment team were up themselves, however Yousef and Kali were really nice and helpful and friendly. Alot of repair needed round the toilets and pool area. WiFi isn't the best except in Restaurants and lobby. Overall it wasn't bad, and didn't ruin our holiday, but would not say its amazing especially for a Riu.

Me and my sister had the most amazing stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is impressive on arrival with the most beautiful lobby area that is really nice to sit in in the evening. The pool was huge and there were never any problems getting a sun bed, and the pool team are so helpful if you need help with getting a parasol for shade. They also provide pool towels which is great. The room itself was so lovely, really spacious and was always so clean the housekeeping team really do an outstanding job. There are numerous activities in the day as well, with the stretching and aqua zumba being personal favourites. Food is phenomenal with so much on offer. The tagine with the chickpeas is a must try. The staff were definitely the highlight. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help if you need any assistance, I cannot thank everyone enough for being so welcoming. The location as well is brilliant, with a lot of the excursions on Get your Guide being able to pick you up as it's within their pick up zone. Overall, we would definitely come back and also hope to go to a RIU hotel somewhere else.

Second visit to this resort, although it's ok , I was disappointed with entertainment, it was extremely repetitive, dull, and wasn't fun. We go away to enjoy the outside warm weather.. I feel outside evening entertainment on the terrace with the bar open would be so beneficial, instead of shoving us all in the inside bar listening to the boring jazz singer EVERY night. Pool entertainment exactly the same EVERY day Outdated music around the pool. Communal toilets never have any toilet roll, soap, hardly any taps work, and you could paddle on the wet floors at night too. When I complained to the hotel reception, I was told to tell my TUI Rep. Foods edible. Again repetitive. Around the pool needs updating, tiles broken, people slipping, skidding falling constantly. Umbrella's ripped and broken. Staff are very good, friendly and helpful. I don't think I will return.

This was our 2nd visit, the first time was in October 2022. We went back because the quality of the food is good. It seems like they are focused on avoiding food waste. However, it would be nice to have an a la carte restaurant with service. The pool area and garden are lovely and the staff incredibly nice and friendly. But there is a lack of an employee who takes responsibility and removes the things that are just lying around, like the toilets both outside and in reception are never clean and always lack soap and toilet paper. There are also too many things that need to be repaired or replaced, both in the rooms and the rest of the hotel. It's sloppy! But I would come back :)

Great food & service in the bars and restaurants.

Cons: Reception - took multiple Emails to get them to reply & at the hotel failed to deal with both the issues brought to their attention. The room was "tired". Sanitary fittings either damaged or in poor condition. Cobweb on the ceiling. Pictures not level. Very bad sewer smell permanently coming from the bathroom. Towels - pool towels were fine, but room towels "like cardboard".

The staff in the restaurant tried their best to help me. I also had a tooth ache. I happened to see 2 people from Transport who takes your luggage to the rooms, on asking them for help, they went above and beyond to help me. So I can say thank you to them, Mohamed and Youssef. I know it's not their job, but I can praise them for being willing to help guests. There's not a huge choice of food for someone who is lactose intolerant and with shellfish allergies. All in all 3 chefs and 6-7 staff members did their best to point out what foods I could eat. The bar staff on the patio were very attentive.

Cons: Well, I had a few problems with food, breakfast, lunch and dinner. No one caters for Lactose intolerant guests, even though I informed them. but I was violently throwing up one evening into early hours of the morning, with no sleep for 3 days, and couldn't eat anything. On the days I could eat, only one meal choice was chips, plain rice, some lentils, that was it, no other choices. As I didn't want to consume beef, lamb or chicken as it would be to heavy on my stomach, and I was in pain. As for some other restaurant staff, who works in the kitchen's, they must be taught/Have Training about "People's Allergy" and the seriousness, of this turning into a life-threatening allergic reaction" this is not good for anyone. There's not a huge choice of food for someone who is lactose intolerant and with shellfish allergies. I did inform reception, and was told to tell the restaurant. It would be a nice change to find out who has allergies, which is fewer than ever, but that a few meals are prepared separately for them and maybe a dessert of some kind throughout their stay. On 2 different nights there was 2 cockroachs in the toilet and shower room, the drain in the shower was a disgusting smell, on informing the people who clean the rooms, nothing much was done, it was not until I informed reception that someone was sent to my room. Last but not least: I paid 1,200. Dirham for a guide, well, it was not worth it, but she took me to a shop, that I'm sure she gets something out of it, we were there for over 3hrs with them talking about different herbs and oils, and spices etc and running up a bill, when I asked the price in pounds, all you heard was don't worry it's buy 2 get one free. I definitely got a refund, the guide and people in the shop was not happy, the prices are 200.-300. Dirham's higher than any place else.

1st time at this hotel, 2nd time in Morocco (I was only 4 the 1st time đŸ€—). Hotel is very big with huge grounds, the welcome we received was very warm & welcoming. 1st glance the hotel is amazing, it's very clean & has everything you would need. But when looking really closely, you did find some areas a little tired & needing an update, but honestly looking at the previous reviews b4 we went, I couldn't see what some complainted so much about. Positives: excellent service, amazing & friendly staff. Rooms cleaned daily, fresh towels daily. All areas including the inside of the hotel/bars/restaurants/grounds/pools were kept clean. Food was great, good quality, especially in the Moroccan restaurant & I have a nut allergy, so admittedly alot of the pastries were a no go area (but I checked with the chef at every meal). Free bus shuttle to the Medina (timetable available on the Riu app or reception). Pool was amazing, so clean & refreshing. Pool is easily accessible for everyone, they is a sloped walkway into the pool & wide gradual steps & the pool is all one depth. Two great kids pools (separate to the main pool) which sadly wasn't used much when we were there đŸ˜Ș. If you forget your book, don't worry there are plenty around that you are free to take or even exchange. Negatives: Some toilets didn't have the push panels for the flush (these need to be replaced) but you can still flush the toilets. Some outside tiles are a little cracked (but not dangerous to cause an injury) Small glasses for wine (I do like a large wine 😂), but obviously I know you go to the bar again & again. Evening entertainment was poor (sorry). BUT OVERALL A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE

This was our first time visiting Marrakech, somewhere I have always wanted to visit. It was a last-minute booking (booked just over a week before arrival), and although I had read mixed reviews, we decided to book the RIU Tikida Palmeraie directly as no travel agents had this hotel available, we booked both EasyJet flights and a private transfer independently. Having stayed at RIU hotels before, both 4* and 5*, I expected the same high level of service and atmosphere we’ve experienced in the Caribbean. Arrival & Airport I had read worrying comments about Marrakech airport, but our experience was very smooth. The airport was clean, security efficient, and staff professional and polite. Luggage arrived quickly, money exchange was easy, and we were outside within 25 minutes. Our pre-booked transfer was waiting and the journey to the hotel took under 30 minutes. First Impressions of the Hotel Riu Tikida Paalmeraie The entrance and reception are beautiful, with high ceilings, Moroccan touches, and plenty of seating. Check-in was friendly and efficient, and although our room wasn’t ready (as expected due to our arrival time), staff made us feel very welcome. When leaving the reception are we walked out into the gardens, these are immaculate. Whilst exploring the hotel, staff members greeted us warmly and welcoming. Pool & Grounds The pool area is large, with a lively but relaxed atmosphere, aqua activities if you wish to join in, and plenty of space to simply relax and always room to have a swim throughout the day, which I particularly enjoyed. The pool water was cold at first but refreshing once in. There are always plenty of sun loungers, I did not understand those that chose to wake-up at silly o'clock! Many parasols are ripped or broken, tiles around the pool are cracked, and some cushions in the seating areas look tired. The good news is that the hotel is planning a refurb of the pool area when they close January & February 2026. Rooms Our room was spacious with good lighting and large mirrors, even though there is not a full length mirror, but for me, as I am not tall if I stood back I could see myself full length in the available mirrors. There were 2 double wardrobes with shelves, and a sofa that likely doubles as a sofa bed. However, some repairs are needed, chipped stone on edges, worn scatter cushions, and curtains needing adjustment. The bathroom was functional but tired, with heavy limescale on taps and shower fittings causing cracked tiles at the outer base of the shower enclosure, this caused the shower to leak making the our bathroom more like a wet room, however, we easily solved this by asking for additional towels! The towels were very thin and hard, they could definitely do with replacing. The separate toilet room could do with a little bit attention round the edges where the grouting is starting to break away. Unfortunately this made It feel less fresh than it should, although our cleaner kept the room spotless and I could not find a speck of dust, she always left thoughtful touches like flowers and towel art. Food & Drink Breakfast was good, though a little repetitive. Fresh eggs were cooked to order (the poached eggs were excellent). It would be nice to see a wider variety of fruit and nuts, and for the cereals to be labelled. Dinner in the main restaurant varied. As a pescatarian, options were limited on our first evening, and I did think at first is this going to be it for me as there was also a lot of salads with meat in them, but this soon changed on other nights and there was plenty for me to eat Desserts could sometimes be repetitive but I enjoyed the Moroccan pastries, just wish there was more of a selection in the main restaurant in the evenings.. The Moroccan restaurant had a lovely setting, though I feel it would shine more with table service rather than buffet. We didn’t try the Italian after hearing mixed feedback. A downside was the lack of a dedicated afternoon tea/coffee area with cakes/pastries, which is something we’ve always enjoyed at other RIU's, even though we did sit at the restaurant terrace nearest to the pool and 2 occasions they did bring out extra cakes, one being the yummy apple cake it would be nice if this was done everyday. Alcoholic drinks were very disappointing: cocktails were weak and machine-made with a very small amount of alcohol added, I tried a few and found them quite watery with not much taste, and the wine was average (the white was best with ice). I am not a big drinker but when on holiday I do enjoy a cocktail and a glass of wine with dinner. The one thing I did not go without was fresh mint with hot water! Service & Entertainment This is where the hotel really shines. The staff were wonderful, very hardworking, friendly, and always smiling. Service around the pool, bars, and restaurants was excellent, often at a 5* level. Entertainment staff were energetic and engaging, adding fun to the days and evenings. Other Notes WiFi worked perfectly throughout our stay. We did see the occasional insect in the room, but nothing unusual for a hot climate and the country we were visiting. Toilets in reception, even though very clean they do need new flush buttons as some of these are missing. The hotel will close in January and February 2026 for pool and room improvements, of which I understand will include updates to air conditioning and hot water system. Overall RIU advertises this as a 4* hotel, and while the service, gardens, and reception easily feel 4*+, the rooms and pool area currently let it down slightly. Once refurbishments are complete, I think this hotel could confidently stand as a strong 4*+ property. Despite some cons, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay, thanks above all to the wonderful staff. Would we return? Most definitely.

As you enter the hotel the reception is typical of RIU. Spacious and opulent decorated to reflect Moroccan culture. Reception staff very welcoming. Rooms are also spacious, beds quite comfy with house keeping every day if you want it. It’s down hill from here. The food is mostly fresh and plentiful but bland and repetitive. There are no mini bars in rooms. If you enjoy a cocktail, wine, beer or G&T this is NOT the resort for you. There is no fully stocked bar just pre mixed syrups to which the bar staff add alcohol. Spirits are local brand, weak and very small measures. House wine is a choice of red, white or rose. They all taste rough. Sparkling wine is chargeable at about £15 a bottle and ok to drink. Evening entertainment is karaoke or other guest related games so you are the entertainment! Not what you’d expect from RIU and a 4* hotel. Visited Marrakesh previously and not had this experience before.

I picked RIU due to a previous experience in Cape Verdi. However the experience at RIU Tikida Palmeraie just didn’t compare. Staff were generally polite and helpful, especially in the run up to review day. Every morning the pool team hosed down the pool area but didn’t actually sweep, so there were bits on the floor and the occasion cigarette butt. They just seemed to be pushing excess water about to help it dry rather than cleaning. The pool patio has a lot of broken tiles and is in need of a refresh, but the pool was nice, although very cold which surprised me and did stop me getting in as much as I normally would but then it was late September and the temperature at night did drop to 15/16 degrees. The grounds around the hotel were very nice, a lot of care is clearly taken. The bar! It took us a day to realise they don’t put alcohol in your cocktails despite the ingredients being listed on the menu. If you order a rum and coke or similar, they put a very tiny amount in. I raised this with one of the bar managers and they said to ask for more, but the staff looked annoyed with the request, so I stopped asking as I started to feel uncomfortable. I never at any point of the holiday felt slightly tipsy. Maybe introducing measures (singles/doubles) would make it easier for staff to know what is expected. Our room maid/cleaner always left us something made from our towels which was nice, the room was a great size and the bed comfortable. The TV even had a couple of English films channels. The only issue was moping the floor. Just walking around in our room (block 1), we had dirty feet and the same bits we saw on the floor when we arrived were there all week. Every morning they would mop the path outside, just not inside the room from what we could tell. The food was very repetitive and bland, not much flavour. Although it has show cooking stations, you can’t actually ask them to cook something for you. For example, omelettes, at every hotel I’ve ever stayed at, you can actually ask them what ingredients you wanted in your omelette but this wasn’t available. You basically got the same at lunch as you did at dinner, except for a couple of minor changes. And the two restaurants you could reserve, they were also buffet style with just a couple of additional choices. I didn’t notice any themes nights. The entertainment team tried hard but it was very poor quality. We pick our holiday for the pool and the entertainment. We enjoyed dancing after the show and were really looking forward to the white party but that was just another disco, no where near the spectacular party we had in Cape Verdi. They provide a free shuttle bus to the center of Marrakech and you reserve your trip back and forth. However, it doesn’t drop you near the main market as it states, it is a bit of a walk from the craft centre. Overall we had a nice time but we wouldn’t go back to this hotel. This has put us off going back to Morocco in general as it could be a cultural thing about the alcohol. However, we have visited Egypt twice and Tunisia, and never had the same issue with lack of alcohol in our drinks.

If you are like me and read these before you go and end up worrying constantly because of f mixed reviews..... This is the review for you. Rooms - Aye listen they maybe a wee bit dated....but for what they do absolutely perfect. Great nights sleep every night ( curtains wouldn't fully close but we had a quick fix of hair clip and didn't tell reception as tbh it wasn't worth the moan) I have become a BBC news addict now as one of only two channels in English but again....it's a room to sleep in. Great size. Shower amazing. Loved the separate toilet and bathrooms. 4/5 Sunbed - all I have read is this sunbed fiasco.....beds are banging. And for the plentiful. I was up at 7am every morning as I'm an early riser and we had the same 2 beds every day with perfect functioning umbrella and even through day lots of beds available around about. Just depends if you like "prime" locations. Pool - unreal size, good temp for how bloody hot it is. Are there e cracked tiles...aye....are they dangerous? Absolutely not. Bar staff/waiting staff/reception and entertainment - THE BEST ABOUT. GENUINELY FROM THE HEART EVERY MAN AND WOMEN IS A CREDIT. THEY WILL GO ABOVE AND BEYOND AND THEY DONE YOUR COUNTRY PROUD. Bar drink measures - first day...meh wee bit weak. Not poor but I got to know them, was kinda and nice to the bar staff and they rewarded thusly. Food - Honestly don't get what people want from these holidays. The selection was banging, quality good and it tasted unbelievable for breakie/lunch/dinner. Only downfall was morrocan restaurant, food is beautiful but it's not labelled and especially the starters is a bit of a mine field to get through. Excursions - we booked Ozoud waterfalls through TUI as don't mind paying extra for the 3 hour journey in a nice bus and a good tour guide. Beautiful place and a must do... Hot air balloon ride we done through get your guide...- THIS IS A MUST!!! IT IS SPECTACULAR. So that's my opinion. Go enjoy it if you have booked it. Get into the hustle and bustle of the Medina with free shuttle bus aswell. It's absolutely safe and secure and honest one of the safest I've ever felt abroad. This country now has a place in my heart. It's beautiful and it's rare I come home and say "I will come back again" Morocco you have been a pleasure.

Just returned from a solo trip to this hotel . I booked through TUI and as a single traveller had to pay a single supplement so paid over ÂŁ1000 for a weeks stay. I have to say it was a real mixed bag. First of all it is definitely NOT an 4T platinum , I would say it is at best a 3T , I have stayed in the Riu Palace in Agadir and that is far far superior The hotel and grounds are lovely , the reception area and lounge are stunning but the rooms are tired and in desperate need of renovation. The were kept very clean by the maid but there is a problem with cockroaches, the furniture is old and damaged and the soft furnishings dull. I found my room very depressing . It had no view to speak of and I really didn't want to spend much time in there . Now on to the food , probably the worst all inclusive buffet I've had and that goes for breakfast, lunch and dinner . Dont want to go into too much detail but just to say it wasn't 4 star standard at best 2 star . The drinks were even worse , I dont drink a lot but the measures were a joke , the bar staff were rude - they put hardly any alcohol in the cocktails and laughed if yiu asked for more . I asked for a brandy one evening and I got around a thimble full of weal liquid. The wine was ok and plentiful with lunch and dinner so if you drink wine you'll be ok . The Staff ( apart from the bar staff ) are the saving grace of the hotel , the guys around the pool and the girls and guts in the dining room were lovely - very very helpful and kind , always ready with a smile - they made my holiday so much better . This experience has put me off Riu , I was considering going to Taghazhout next year but now not too sure

Gave it a 3 as the resort does need some tlc, the patio door in our room (3004) was very difficult to lock-we called reception but no one came to fix. The staff around the pool and bars are brilliant!! Shout out to Abdul (pool boy) who made our subbed up every morning in our spot. There are cracked tiles around the pool as mentioned in other reviews but do not let that put you off, the pool is lovely with easy access and very clean Food: breakfast was our favourite as there is was a decent choice and we just went for toast and pancakes for the most part Lunch was our next favourite with good salad choices, pizza and soups Evening meal was disappointing most nights as yes there was a lot of choice BUT all the food in our opinion seemed quite bland Our room was ok-toilet, shower all worked ok but did need some tlc, the maids cleaned our room to a good standard so that made up for the tired looking room All in all for ÂŁ1500 for 2 people for a week it was decent value for money. Would we go back?? Not sure

DONT LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS LEFT ON THIS SITE. We booked this holiday in April and made the mistake at looking at more recent reviews a month before we flew out in September. Everyone wants something different and we flew out on our holiday to the Riu Tikida Palmeraie with little to no hope of this holiday living up to what we expected it to be. Turns out we had nothing to worry about and IT WAS FANTASTIC. Reception, bars, restraunts and rooms were clean tidy and well looked after. The staff cannot do enough for you. The gardens around this hotel are well maintained. Food: If you are looking for Moroccan food you won't go far wrong. If it's not for you, there is always something on offer. If not speak to a manager and request something. If you don't ask you don't get! Drinks: If you feel your drink isn't strong enough then simply ask them to pop a little more in. We done this with spirits and wine. We were never denied. Pool: The pool area is a little tired and in need of some TLC. This is happening in Jan/Feb next year I believe. No issue getting a sun lounger or parasol. If you need something again just ask, the guys around the pool are available all day to help. Entertainment: We didn't do the entertainment on an evening as we just like to relax after dinner. However the entertainment, guys work tirelesley to ensure you have a great experience. Activities from 10.30 until 12.30 then again from 3pm. Be prepared for the hotel song and dance to remain in your head when back home. Meeting other guests at the hotel and discovering they had been to this hotel several times and intend on returning next year, really is a testament to the hotel staff and surroudings. We will defiantly be returning in the future and really look forward to doing so.

Overall it was a week of sunshine and relaxation. Food we didn't starve, BUT ... Riu, after visiting many of your hotels the last few years this was NOT to the usual standards l. Understand we are in Morocco however cous cous for breakfast lunch dinner isn't great. The selection was the same everyday for breakfast lunch and dinner. The itallian.. wow.. it was the same restaurant trimmed up with napkins, battery candles and the SAME selection of pizza spaghetti lasagne as in the main restaurant buffet and still self served. Staff lovely Entertainment appalling Entertainment Team friendly Rooms ok Grounds good and clean Will we be back ...NO Riu management needs to do a visit and soon.. drop the star rating or sell up!

Check in when we arrived went very smoothly and efficiently as always. We were taken with our baggage to our room by golf buggy, which is excellent for people with walking difficulties. The rooms are huge, with plenty of room to move about and store cases etc for the duration. The is a free safe, fridge, bottled water (delivered daily), usb ports, air conditioning and wi-fi. Having said that, the quality of the air conditioning and wi-fi varies from room to room and ours was poor. House keeping is very good. They change towels daily if you want them and make the beds and mop the floors most days. Some of the rooms do need a bit of work i.e. loose taps and vanity mirrors, ill fitting sink plugs. Usually if you have an issue, they will come out and make repairs pretty quickly but sometimes they have to be reminded! The pool is huge but cold. Pool towels are provided and the pool guys are brilliant. The pool area, including the toilets is very tired. There are a lot of broken tiles and umbrellas and several of the toilets in both the male and female blocks are damaged and closed off. However the hotel is closed for a month in January 2026 when the pool area will be refurbished, hopefully including the toilets. You can get wi-fi around the pool but it can be quite intermittent. There are a lot of cats around the pool and grounds. I'm not a cat person so may be biased but they lay on the sunbeds and have been seen peeing up them and if you are allergic, the cat hairs on the beds could cause you a problem. The daily entertainment is advertised on a board in reception and the entertainment team who are very friendly do come round to encourage taking part but are not pushy. The evening entertainment consists of a lounge singer - inside or out depending on weather. I must say, I don't think he's the best but most people seem to be happy with him. The evening entertainment put on by the same team that run the day time programme is not my cup of tea but generally consists of a Mr & Mrs Game Show, Karaoke etc but when they put on there own shows, they work hard and are pretty good. The bar staff are mostly really friendly. The drinks are a bit stingy but if you ask for more, they usually comply. However, this is a family hotel so understandably, they don't want drunken behaviour - we did see a woman that was so drunk she couldn't get up the stairs to her room! Restaurant staff are very polite and helpful. Cleaners are always sweeping and mopping up. The food in the main restaurant, Italian and Moroccan are buffet. We've never have a problem finding something enjoyable in the main restaurant but if you have a particular dietary need, the chefs are happy to help. The specialty restaurants are 2 sittings. If you go for the early sitting, the food is freshly cooked but the later sitting is the same that has been sat under warming lights and not quite as nice. We did go for a later sitting in the Italian and the chef actually came and asked us if we would like something cooked fresh. There is a free shuttle bus into the Medina and taxis are cheap and reliable if you book from the hotel. If you want to use the taxi, book it at reception. They'll drop you at the medina, pick you up at a specified time of your choosing and you don't pay until you're back at the hotel. Day time it's 200 dirhams return. It is only 2 storey and spread out around lovely grounds. The are ramps all over so if you are not so good on your legs, this hotel is idea. There is a wide ramp right into the pool so wheelchair users can get right in easily. We've already booked to go back! There was no tourist tax payable when we went in September but we've heard that there is in future bookings.

Marrakech in Morocco is not to far away from this property and the resort lays on a free daily shuttle bus into the center of the city, The Hotel staff are amazing, friendly, polite and love to see and interact with you. The pool is an excellent size with plenty of room to enjoy the activities but also if you want to just swim or relax. The food offering is plentiful and a wide range to suit most peoples taste, I especially enjoyed the food at dinner which was excellent. The drinks to be fair are well proportioned and not drowned out with ice or mixers. The resort removed all the old and broken sunbeds while I was there for new ones and they all now match, they also fixed the sun umbrellas as well. As far as I'm aware the pool area is getting some renovation work done in January to fix a few spots. The rooms are clean and tidy however they are a little dated, The bathroom fittings I would suggest need some attention, the soap dispenser in the shower was a bit grubby and stained and the same for the toilet flush panel with worn marks. Maybe some nice new chrome style ones would go along way here! Overall did it effect my Holiday, did it effect my stay or spoil the overall experience of this resort? The answer is no it did not. I would return to this resort and i know a lot of people already do.

This hotel is very good, rooms are nice very spacious, good wardrobes with plenty of hanger nice little fridge good air conditioning , But NO KETTLE !. The pool and pool area is fantastic. This hotel is let down by the food and drinks. Firstly drinks , cheap local spirits. The bar staff must be paying for it out of their wages with the measures they give you . I personally like to taste the vodka in my drink, if you ask for more they look at you like you just swore at them . Food Basic says it all , cheap over cook meat , flavourless everything in general. Salads were pretty good to be honest. Don’t bother with the Italian or Moroccan restaurants as it’s the same food in the main buffet, just in a different room đŸ€· Hotel is quite far away from anything else, so you’re stuck unless you’re getting a taxi into Marrakesh. Entertainment staff and staff in general are very friendly and can’t do enough for you !

Second time here and it's a really nice hotel ,very pretty buildings and the grounds are lovely especially at nite for a walk. The main swimming pool is huge and never over full and is always a cool temperature. The entertainment team around the pool are good and never over do it so it's just right. I have to say the evening entertainment is really poor. and low quality.A singer on a keyboard outside and the shows we saw in the theatre were really amateur. It didn't bother us much but if you are and wanna party then it's not for you. The buffet food was generally pretty good and I enjoyed but the 2 themed restaurant were just buffet plus style and not that good.Service was just ok with not a lot of personality but at the same time not bad. The drinks around the bars were very tight in measure and the cocktails were awful snd made with no real care. A shout out to the owner of the shop farid who was a gentleman with a lively outlook on life who gave my wife a free gift even tho the shop was closed. Would we come here? It was at the right price and pretty good so yes just not perfect

Sadly, this holiday didn’t meet expectations. After being classed as a “ platinum “. Broken umbrellas at the pool, weak cocktails, and mostly rude staff which made us feel unwelcome. I want to say how amazing Jamal was and how he made us feel so welcome! Making sure everything was perfect for us at breakfast/lunch and dinner. Entertainment was so poor we stopped attending or even making the effort to get ready as there wasn’t any entertainment except from a disco and “ Mr and Mrs “. We weren’t told about events like the white party which happens every Sunday. Also adding to this we were never told about the activities during the day or what was happening in the evening. Food was average at best—buffet-style even in “booked” restaurants, making reservations pointless. I went to the pool bar and asked for water and was handed a cup of ice to fill myself with water that’s been left out in the heat... A positive side to this stay was the rooms were always nice and cold when we got they were also very spacious. We did the hot air balloon trip which was amazing and well organised so would highly recommend! This was booked through Get your guide. We raised concerns with the manager, but nothing was done, and there was no follow-up after checkout. A beautiful setting let down by poor service and lack of care. We wouldn’t return or recommend.

This is a favourite destination for me and Julie my wife. This is our third visit and we love the hotel facilities . The spa is great, the food amazing, and the best part is the staff themselves who are friendly and prepared to go the extra mile to make your break extra special. Love it, brilliant for those with mobility issues. Hope to return soon.

Having just returned from a week away at Rui Tikida Palmeraie, I feel compelled to write a review to share my thoughts on our experience. Firstly, the accommodation is long overdue for an upgrade; the bathroom needs a refresh, as the towels are like drying yourself with a tea towel, forget fluffy towels, they are like sandpaper. There are no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room. A plus is that the room is always nice and chilled after a day by the pool. The room was always kept clean. The pool area is not the cleanest. We never saw the pool actually being cleaned; it felt slimy and slippery. We did feel it was a case of not sleeping in as it was in the first couple of days, tricky to get beds, but after the delivery of new sunbeds, there were ample beds. The staff serving drinks around the 2 pool bars were rude, not listening to what you ordered. The food was much the same every day. Lovely pizzas ! Big shout out to Jamel, he made our visit to the restaurant enjoyable, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Entertainment was of a low standard (more like a Primary school production) If you want late drinks with atmosphere, you won't get it here. The weather was amazing ....if you want to sit and relax all day and retire early, then you would enjoy. We did book the hot air balloon experience, which was fantastic. If you decide to book through Get your guide as much cheaper.

Hotel lobby / bar/ evening restaurant were all beautiful.

Cons: However, the remaining areas were all very dated and tired. The air conditioning was poor. We also had multiple issues with our room and asked to have several problems with the room addressed, but these were not followed up. Around the grounds, especially near the accommodation, we saw plenty of litter. Poolside umbrellas were falling apart and torn.

The good : Bar staff, cleaners, and pool boys are excellent and a credit to the hotel. Always go the extra mile and very friendly. The not so good: Rooms are dated and look very tired now. Sewage smells, showers leaking and stained fixtures. Doors really need draught excluders to keep out insects. Food was tasty, and you will always find something to eat, but it was mostly luke warm, cold plates, and waiting for replenishment, especially at breakfast, I'm looking at you egg station. Would love to see the Italian turned into an Asian restaurant, as Italian fare can be had at lunch, and dinner in main restaurant. Drink measures have been reduced, bring a bottle. New sunbeds but limited umbrellas with many broken. Pool area not level lots of cracks and broken tiles. Entertainment team work very hard, but their numbers seem to have been cut, and it shows. Entertainment was a lot better when moved outside, easier to watch and enjoyed a better atmosphere. Reception staff can be hit and miss, reporting of issues can take several tries before actioning. Overall we have enjoyed each of our visits and will return mainly because of the staff, but investment in infrastructure is sorely needed.

Honest review - This hotel is not a 4 star! Reception area clean and rooms clean. The pool area is in need of desperate renovation. It was quite dirty and the floor tiling is all damaged, I would say dangerously so, especially if someone was unsteady on their feet or for children. Food was appalling! It was literally the same small selection every night, so tasteless. We went the the Moroccan at the hotel and were served chicken skewers that were pink and uncooked and beef that was so hard we couldn't even cut it with the knife. We went to the Italian at the hotel and it was no different food served than in the main hotel, they serves turkey in breadcrumbs in there. The parasols are good for nothing, some wouldn't stay up, some were ripped with massive holes in them and others the fabric was hanging down. Our door handle to our room was hanging off for 5 days before it was repaired. The pool side and reception toilets never have any toilet roll in them. There are no kettles or tea/coffee etc in the rooms, when I asked for one at reception was told we had to pay for it! No hot water from the sink in the rooms. Entertainment was very poor, same bloke on singing with his keyboard every night on the outside bar. Inside there was Karaoke! No bottled water available around the pools etc, only small cups at a time which is not ideal in the heat. I would not recommend and would definitely not return here. This is more like a 2/3 star hotel.

You have to wait until 2 to check in, then wait in queue for buggy porters. Tip was clearly required before they will leave you, so I gave one USD per bag, not having any local currency yet. Nice spacious room, with 2 large singles side-by-side., and a divan settee. 2 wardrobes. No drawers. But plenty surfaces. Safe not reopening, and told to be in room at 8pm for technician to come. Reported faulty bathroom tap fitting and plug - several times. Two or three times, we had to ask them to release the plug (to drain the basin), but they ignored our requests for plug to be fixed, or the whole wobbly tap unit to be replaced. The toilet/bidet room was very smelly, and I told the maid each morning, but only on our 13th night did she put blue liqid down the loo. In fairness, reception did offer to move us, but I hate moving rooms, and just kept a bottle of perfume to sniff while i was in there! A/c did not seem to work very well, but after the 2nd or 3rd reporting, we decided we had to permanently leave it on full (coldest setting with max fan), with the ceiling fan on as well when in the room. The mini-fridge was on, but didn't work. I didn't even bother reporting it ... Buffet restaurant clean and spacious, with lots of table-clearers, and buffet very well-maintaned, but food not very varied or appetising. Very few desserts. Fruit salad at breakfast was delicious, and the soups were usually good. You can collect all your own beverages, if the waiters don't offer. Large garden was reason I chose this hotel and it is lovely, although in August heat, flowers not at their best. Found nicest flowers around the perimeter path, where bougainvillea are less desiccated and very pretty. Two ponds have fish and terrapins you can feed - and the sparrows on the terrace are fun too. There are 2 semi-shady benches between  blocks 4 and 5, which is a nice place to sit and listen to the bird-song.  The gardens are so peaceful,  it could do with more benches in shady spots. Lovely big swimming pool, basically L-shaped, so  usually possible to find a swim-path free of ball-throwers.  Difficult  to find towel-free sun beds not appropriated  by early-reservers, but usually found a pair after our 4pm swim. Cocktails are not worth having, and spirit measures usually minimal. The bar staff either don't listen, or forget orders, and you seldom get what you asked for. Even if you go to the bar, they often forget what you asked for, so you have to watch them. The evening entertainment was abysmal, but live musicians at the bars were good. The public areas are beautiful, and there are plenty of staff.

We all got absolutely brand new (as in we were the very first people to use them) sun loungers. Otherwise: Staff - All 💯  ABSOLUTELY amazing! Food - Varied and always fresh with great local and more conventional options - I really don't understand the comment about the food being repetitive, unless someone's living wholly on a diet of margarita pizza. Rooms - Minor issue with the safe and air-conditioning but equally both were sorted vQuickly by the front desk team. Pool - How shall we say ... invigorating ... but once you acclimatised it was clean and tidy with plenty of room for everyone. Loungers - Other than being brand new - We walked up to the pool at around 7:30 and had absolutely no problem finding the same location every day, including fully working / adjustable parasols. Bar - Great service from a vFriendly team who quickly got to know your drinks, which arrived equally quickly and were topped up regularly. Garden - Needs to be seen to be believed 🌮  Spa - A must / so relaxing and reasonably priced too. Summary ... Absolutely fantastic holiday!!!

Once again a fantastic stay, staff are so friendly and always have a smile and go above and beyond. Food great. Good to see that they were starting to replace the sunbed as was needed. Hotel was once again very clean great to see constant cleaners everywhere. Have been going to this hotel for years and can honestly say will carry on coming back, it feels like home from home and this is due to the fantastic effort every member of staff put in to making sure everyone feels welcome and looked after. If I have 1 issue I would have to say that at breakfast/ lunch there is a huge outside area where you can eat but they only had 4 tables that were smoking tables. I would like to see this increased maybe have one half for non smoking and one half for smoking as was a struggle sometimes to be able get a smoking table. Would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff, keep up the amazing job you are doing.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. I would rate the hotel itself a 5/5. The room I stayed in was the biggest room I have ever stayed in abroad. We travelled as a couple but you could easily fit 5 people in one room. The shower room was huge with a separate toilet. There is also a sofa which can be used as a bed, two built in wardrobes, two large mirrors and a television which has a couple of English channels. We are able to watch a film on a couple of late evenings. The air con is good and there is a ceiling fan in the room. The balcony was spacious and looked out onto the gardens. There are large ponds with turtles and baby turtles which I loved to see. The rooms are cleaned daily and water bottles given daily. There is a fridge in the room but no kettle for anyone who expects one. I have heard you can get one from reception if one is available but I wasn't bothered about not having a kettle as breakfast starts at 7:30 so I went down for a coffee then. The food is some of the best food I have ever tasted. I am a foodie, I absolutely love food and always found something that I wanted to eat. The tastes were out of this world. There is a main restaurant, a Moroccan restaurant and an Italian restaurant. You have to book the Moroccan and Italian restaurants but this is easily done through the RIU app and there's always availability. There's a large selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner and food is pretty much available all day until 10pm. There is a great selection of cocktails but you don't get a lot of alcohol in them which was fine for me as I'm not a big drinker. Sangria had more alcohol in and obviously wine is from the bottle therefore, not watered down. The entertainers are great, so energetic and friendly and they go out of their way to speak to you and accommodate you. The entertainment was great and included acrobats and African musicians. I had no issue getting a sun lounger at 7am every morning. The staff were friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Some of the best staff I have ever met. I would happily stay here again.

Just returned from a 7 night stay and cannot fault anything. The staff are amazing, friendly, polite and attentive, nothing is too much trouble and they ensure that you have a wonderful stay. An easy check in, and Racid gave a great welcome to the hotel. We booked to celebrate my husbands 75the birthday and they really made it special, the table was decorated with rose petals, there was a candle and a bottle of champagne in a silver bucket. A special thank you to Adil and the restaurant team for a great evening. The room 5108 was in an ideal position and service daily by the lovely Bouchia. We had breakfast outside everyday and Zadel made sure we had everything we needed. Abdul at the pool is so helpful, making sure you have a sunbed and umbrella if needed. There are areas that require a little TLC (repair and maintenance) but there is nothing that could spoil a stay here. The Moroccan restaurant was a great experience and staff were attentive. Thank you to all the staff for a truly fantastic stay, can't wait to return.

Stayed here for 10 nights ending 29/08/25 Facilities....................Very Good Check in....................Excellent Room.........................Very Good Cleanliness...............Excellent Staff...........................Excellent Food selection..........Excellent Food quality..............Good Room..........................Excellent Entertainment...........Below Standard Pool............................Excellent What I liked. Free safe in room Free bottled water every day in your room Free coach to the main Medina Staff very dedicated to help you enjoy your stay Easy going attitude to meal times Food available from 7am to 10pm All drinks available from 7am to midnight Spirits in most cases are named brands not local cheap stuff Staff constantly cleaning all areas TUI reps on site every day for several hours Other points spirit measures at times were below the UK singles I actually witnessed certain staff putting the ice in first..then the mixer and barely a tea spoon of spirit...I did bring this to the attention of the reps and in most cases this was put right. The entertainment could do with a re-vamp..the entertainers are very talented but lack direction and the what's on board needs to kept up to date. All in all a 10/10 holiday many thanks to the staff

The breakfast was the same everyday, staff in restaurant never greated us. But we saw that they would approach other families walk them over to tables etc.

Cons: The staff approach towards us could have been different, on the last day ee got approached by one staff named Muhammad whom asked how our stay was and to give a good review and mention his name when that was the 1st and last we saw of him. I didn't like that we was the last bedroom so far from reception and pool area. The shower system and whole area needs renovation The fact that this was all inclusive it didn't meet to that. There was no snack bar, food was only selected times slots. Some staff would put other 1st come 1st serve and not serve me at the pool bar.

Good family holiday, we just spent 7 days here. The staff are without doubt the Jewel in this hotels crown. Really nice, really attentive, genuine and don’t look for hand outs for every chore carried out. The gardens are beautiful, and the 1 mile path on the perimeter is great for a morning jog. The rooms are big clean and have separate đŸšŸ. Big volleyball, tennis, boules area too. We found the food was a little up and down , with both specialty restaurants a real let down. The poolside needs a revamp as the tiles look more like crazy paving ! Would we go back?? Yeah probably , but give the Italian ( same room as buffet restaurant) and Moroccan restaurant a miss!! Thanks loads, Nick and Kerry Uk. 🇬🇧

Hotel is nice with lovely garden and pool. It has a resort feel. Food was very nice and lots of choice for a 4 day stay. But could get repetitive for a longer stay. As others have said drinks were week and cocktails were limited, but staff would add more alcohol to glass if asked. My only real issue with hotel was the tyles around pool and in the room were very slippy .

Honest review - stayed from 8th Aug to 19th. 2 adults, 3 kids age 11/13/16. Hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful. A proper wow moment when we pulled up on the transfer coach. The rooms are super spacious. Loads of space. I wish there was some drawer storage. Air con isn’t amazing, we had rooms 5120 and 5122 - 5122 was terrible air con wise vs. the other room. The housekeeping was faultless, only slight gripe was that they didn’t change the sheets in the entire time we were here, apart from on my bed on day 9 as I got food poisoning! The pool is lush. So huge and so much space it never felt crowded. Do take flip flops to walk from your sunbed to the pool steps etc. though as the floor literally is like lava 😬 The music can be loud - so if that’s likely to annoy you, just move away from the speakers. I read a couple of comments about it having an 18-30s feel. It absolutely does not in our opinion. Same comments as others have made around broken tiles around the pool, lots of broken beds and parasols. It’s a shame as it lets the hotel down on a huge selling point - the gorgeous pool. However as of today, 27th August, I've seen a post on a FB group about the hotel that they have got rid of ALL the crap broken beds and new ones are now available. Sunbeds - on our first morning hubby was awake early (7.50am) and went down to see what the pool was like. He said the sunbeds were 95% already reserved but the pool guys helped him set up an area with parasols. After then, he did join everyone else and pop down and reserve beds for us - but most days he would stay down there with a coffee and read until the rest of us joined him. I think if you went down later as many only 2-3 people you'd be okay finding beds, the pool guys were great at helping. However if being close to the pool / you need a large amount of beds, you would need to go down early. (for example we saw two large groups together always in the same place so they must have gone down early to get that amount of beds). Wasps! They are around (and I got stung!) but in my opinion they are nowhere bad as ‘English’ wasps who literally come looking for a fight. They hover around fruity drinks/cups but will bugger off if you waft them away. We had 1 bad day because we split drinks accidentally and couldn’t fully wash the fruity smell away! But they’re honestly not bad in our opinion. đŸ‘đŸŒ Drinks - if you’re hoping for a really good cocktail you’ll be sadly disappointed. They’re not very strong, some of them are made with a pre-made mixture and unless you ask for extra ice, they were almost warm (because of the machine). I absolutely love cocktails so I was disappointed - but I didn’t really do a tonne of research on this particular aspect of the hotel. Similarly to this - snacks! Again, a disappointment for me. The morning snacks were leftover breakfast items and the afternoon snacks were leftover lunch items with some extra pancakes made. I didn’t research this either and had in my head there would be perhaps a snack bar by the pool, or somewhere for a variety of ice creams all day. It was lush having full fat coke, sprite and Fanta on tap all day đŸ‘đŸŒ Otherwise I’d say the meals were ok but repetitive. I enjoyed the rice dishes the most, having calamari one night was a lush surprise. The lamb and beef was always cooked nicely. My husband was more adventurous than me with some of the salads, tagines etc. my middle daughter who isn’t fussy tried loads. My younger daughter had pasta pretty much everyday and my eldest son had pizza for every meal except breakfast. They’re fussier. They all loved the eggs and pancakes at brekkie. We tried the Italian one night and all loved it. The pizzas are really good throughout the hotel. Sadly we tried the Moroccan restaurant on our 8th evening and the next morning my husband and I came down with D&V - it clearly was something food related from the Moroccan dinner and I spent a full two days in bed with it. So overall, the food wasn’t amazing - but it wasn’t terrible either (referring to the main meals). I did enjoy the little cakes most nights, they’re like eating air they’re so fluffy and light, but nice for a sweet treat. Most of the staff are absolutely incredible. Special shout out to our waiter Fadel. We sought him out breakfast and dinner as he was so lovely. The second night I missed dinner due to the food poisoning, he went and made me up a cheese plate for the fam to bring back to me. It looked absolutely delicious but I couldn’t bring myself to eat cheese đŸ€ŠđŸŒâ€â™€ïž The housekeeping ladies are super lovely and always left towel / blanket decorations with rose petals which my girls loved. Once they knew I was sick, they gave the bathrooms an extra clean because the smell of bleach was very strong 😬 one of them also got a maintenance chap to help as one of our beds broke (slats popped out, easily rectified) and the sink plug got stuck! Most of the bar staff were lovely. The pool guys always helped hubby find beds (so even though apparently they’re not meant too, if you tip them, they will find you beds and parasols!) For us personally, the front desk / reception team let the rest of the staff down. Some of them were good, especially as for the first few days my daughter pulled her wristband too tight or frayed the ends, she needed a new one 🙄 But one of the team there did smirk when my husband told them I was poorly which wasn’t nice. We’d been offered a late check out at no charge as an apology for me losing 2.5 days of the holiday with illness, but the keycards didn’t work when we got them validated on our last night. We were all so hot and exhausted we asked if they could bring the cards over (we would absolutely tip for this) but instead they said I had to pay for the late check out and only security with a master keycard came up not new cards. The manager did come and see me at dinner on our last night and apologised - he was very nice. Hubby got the keycards sorted on our departure day. The indoor pool was lush - great to be out of the heat but still have a splash about. Hubby used the gym but said it wasn’t amazing. Good enough for the basics though. We didn’t use the spa but it looked nice. The shop isn’t anything special - literally a few bags of crisps and chocolates, but otherwise filled with Moroccan souvenirs. If you come in this heat (August, hit 40 degrees most days), listen to everyone when they say bring tonnes of sun cream. It’s ÂŁ18 a bottle here lol. There was a bonus to being awake and up early, the sun wasn't as hot and it was just beautiful to be by the pool on those mornings. WiFi - it was good enough. Until day 8 when I got sick, perhaps being in the room all day didn’t help, but it went down for 20-30 mins every hour or two 😬 kids were furious. Up until this point it had been pretty perfect in the rooms! Agree with the comments about the hotels rating, it's definitely a 3* in our opinion. I would have given the review 3.5 if I could. 4 feels too generous, but 3, not generous enough. Overall, it was a lovely family holiday - but would we come back? No, and I am not sure I’d recommend it to family and close friends. As a family I am not sure AI works for us, with large and busy hotels / sunbed ‘wars’ etc. the heat was hard going too đŸ„”

Exactly what I expected. Great service and family fun all around. Lovely Team supported by great staff and even better Entertainment team for the kids/adults. Food was fresh and the service of staff across the hotel was heart felt and authentic. . Only gave it a 4 out of 5 due to 3 things: Firstly, the dated areas around the pool which needed fixing. Tiles broken and some areas needed cleaning/fixing. Secondly, there was no iron within the rooms, so we had to wait till one became available before utilising for the entire holiday. First come first serve basis. Thirdly, no tea's or Coffee's available in the rooms. Had to go down to canteen area to get coffee/teas and take them back to the room if needed.

Cons: We were giving a room which looked like the end of the hotel which may have been to accommodate staff. Very run down room, poor light. The whole hotel had a really bad sewage smell which was unbearable. The shower had shower gel unit which broke in the first day. The safe wasn’t working properly. Lighting was very poor in the room. AC was poor everywhere in the hotel. I was charged more once I checked in compared to the price I was given on booking.com

I have read many poor reviews and then lots of good reviews- I don’t usually leave a review but felt I needed to after our experience. Staff in every role were super friendly. Hotel communal areas kept well and the grounds are very pretty. Lots of frogs if you go looking for them in the evening. Our room was very disappointing. There are 4 of us, me, hubby and 2 boys 15 & 21. Boys had separate room next to us. Rooms are dated and require modernisation. 2 single beds pushed together with separate duvets - no double/king for couples. TV was dirty with grease “dribbles “ running down from the top edge and only 2 channels in English - both news channels on repeat - not good when you end up in bed for 4 days with bad tummy!!! Air con did not work - only a fan on the ceiling but that was quite ineffective. Mini fridge was not very effective either - did not keep the water cool as one would expect. Every day the cleaner left 2 big bottles of water which was very welcomed. It was great having toilet separate to the bathroom - considering how much time I had to spend in it due to tummy upset!! Shower not very powerful but got by. No nice toiletries I would expect to see in a so called 4* hotel. Even the toilet bin looked like it had been dug out of a skip!! And we won’t mention the dirty toilet brush!! We actually did not have any issues with sun beds - hubby went down usually around 7 AM and popped towels out. There were a lot of broken beds, tiles and parasols though. The food was - in my opinion- not good at all!!! The same every day! Not particularly hot, I ate a prawn on my 2nd day and spent almost 4 days in the room due to severe upset stomach!! Today hubby had a “venison “ burger - it was still raw inside!! Bread is very dry, wine is available but comes warm - larger is on tap to help your self. If you ask for say a vodka and coke - you get a tall glass full of coke and if you are lucky they pour around a teaspoon (5ml) of vodka in - when I did ask for a tad more the young girl serving me rolled her eyes at me!! However as I was poorly that was pretty much the only time I drank alcohol but my eldest son had the same issue. The in house entertainment was lame - karaoke, a grease lightening show, music from around the world etc - by the same entertainment staff that had already been working all day in the heat!! They must have been knackered bless them!! The free shuttle bus to the Medina is useful - I recommend going twice - once in the day and then again in the evening after 7:30pm. Use the App Get Your Guide- it is great to book any excursions or activities - and a lot cheaper than bookings via holiday rep. Hubby and boys booked quad bike tour - 3 -4 hours with hotel pick up/drop off £65 all 3 of them!! And just outside the vote there are some camels if you want a ride - around 20 mins ( which is enough in the heat) and they dress you up in the traditional robes. I have tried to leave a balanced review- would I come back here? Absolutely NOT. It’s not a 4* hotel - 2 or 3 Max! If entertainment, FOOD, and facilities were reviewed and revamped it could be - but right now - not in my opinion.

We have just come back from a week here. There was myself, my partner and our 2 boys aged 12 and 16. I had read a LOT of negative reviews before arriving and must admit was a bit worried. You cannot believe everything you read tho and most people will find something to complain about. We had a lovely time but there are some buts. It was a very hot week with temperatures up in the late 40’s. The hotel is clean and well kept. The gardens are lovely and we walked around the perimeter of the hotel most mornings and watched the sun rise which was beautiful. One of The most common complaints I read before coming out was the cockroaches. I saw one in reception the entire week we were there. The hotel is also not plagued by frogs đŸ€Ł I mean there are frogs but you don’t see them other than in the ponds. The sun bed wars are another most common complaint. There are hundreds of sun beds. We were down by 8am every morning and there were lots and lots of sun beds free. Did not see the pool guys putting any towels out even when was there at 6.30am!! They are so helpful and lovely and work very hard. The pool area does need some attention tho. There are cracked tiles and it is dangerous. I understand there is some refurbishment planned for this which is most needed. The tiles are very slippery. We almost fell multiple times. The animation team work very hard day and night. Our kids loved the sports stuff they do and I joined in with the pool Zumba and aqua which was good fun. Quite limited in the evenings! Was too hot to sit outside đŸ„”đŸ„” Food was typical AI!! Nothing wrong with it but gets repetitive!! Brekkie was the best of the day and could actually sit on the terrace. We went to the spa for traditional Hamman was lovely. Highly recommend. We had two rooms next to each other. Air con and fan was amazing. Fridge was rubbish and did not work in both rooms. Gave up asking to get that fixed. We took the shuttle into town to visit the souks. Worst experience of my life. Will never go back. We got surrounded by men trying to get money off us and I had my 12 year old with us. He is still traumatized. We got saved by an amazing taxi driver who got us the hell out of there 🙏😭 All in all we had a lovely time. It was a mixed bag. Hotel is huge and clean and the staff work so hard in very hot temps.

We’ve stayed at several Riu hotels before, but this was by far the worst experience. Music around the pool was barely audible, with very limited activities (just morning aqua aerobics, bingo, and evening Zumba). If you don’t reserve a sunbed by 5–6 AM, you’re left with a broken one—or none at all. Food was repetitive with no themed dinners during our entire 11-day stay—just the same pizza, pasta, and fries daily. Rooms weren’t very clean, and we even had a lizard on our ceiling at one point. Very disappointing overall. Wouldn’t return.

I honestly rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was quite disappointing. The Wi-Fi kept cutting in and out, which meant we constantly had to check with the staff just to get a stable connection. This often made it difficult to contact family or friends from our room. There were multiple occasions where the housekeeping team cleaned the room very well, but when replenishing towels, we often found stains on what were supposed to be fresh ones. We were also very surprised to discover that the room key wouldn’t actually lock the door, which forced us to take our valuables with us at all times. Had we not booked multiple excursions, our holiday would not have been nearly as enjoyable. While a few team members were lovely and accommodating, others came across as quite cold. Overall, I would not recommend spending money to stay here, which is a shame because the hotel itself is quite pretty inside. I usually feel super sad when leaving an all-inclusive holiday but was very excited to leave this one.

Positives ‱ Great staff who really make this hotel, they're the reason my score isn't lower. I unfortunately didn't catch names but we had 2 semi rude encounters the whole trip. Honestly can't praise the staff enough. ‱ The gardens are beautiful and we walked around the loop of the resort multiple times each day. ‱ There seems to be food available most of the day which is handy if you miss lunch from being out. ‱ The shuttle into the city was a great perk of the hotel, very easy to use. ‱ Sameer (apologies for the spelling) at the spa was lovely, I booked in for a blow dry and he was just a delight to be around, very friendly and welcoming even with a slight language barrier, we spoke the best we could. My hair was so bouncy and soft afterwards. Negatives ‱ Lack of alcohol choices, we aren't big drinkers, we tend to only drink on holiday but nothing we'd usually pick is available. No prosecco, malibu (even an equivalent) or tequila. Well there is prosecco but its a paid extra, probably the only negative staff interaction I had was the woman behind the bar shouting it was an extra at me 5 times when I heard the first time. ‱ Twin beds, felt like I was on holiday with my friend, not my husband. I feel a zip up bed and larger duvet is standard in hotels. ‱ I don't feel the rooms are dated as such, just tatty and tired. We had issues with the electrics but we had already unpacked and didn't want to risk being moved room as we liked the location too so we just dealt with it. Our room door was fiddley to lock too but again just persevered ‱ Pool seems to be a riot, just loungers everywhere, no order and it seemed busy with claimed loungers first thing in the morning. ‱ The gym isn't terrible for a resort gym but it's again tired, no safety clips for bars and they let children in unattended. ‱ Food is very samey however if you aren't fussy and don't eat multiple plates you could have something different as a main each night for a week. ‱ 2 bars of soap is as good as it gets for the room, no shampoo, conditioner, body lotion or any other basics. There is a pump in the shower that's a shower gel/shampoo. Thankfully I had read this before going so brought everything with me. ‱ On that note the hair drier isn't great, most hotel ones aren't however you have to hold it in to use it which isn't ideal for someone with bad hands/wrists. ‱ Towel hut is closed half 12 to 3, our mistake for not checking however we'd been using the app for most things and it wasn't mentioned. Thankfully we asked at reception and they organised someone to get us some. Worked out but again this isn't 4* service. ‱ Raised to the gym attendant there was no paper towels to wipe equipment and he didn't care, had to use toilet paper. ‱ And then toilet paper, went to the public toilets a few times to find there was no toilet roll. I ended up carrying some about with me after being caught out twice. Overall I wouldn't class this as a 4* hotel. It's a 3* at best and although we made the most of it, I probably wouldn't come back and I would only recommend if you got it as part of a bargain deal. Equally though if you have booked already I wouldn't let my review put you off, we still had a great time and made of it what we could. I just expected a little more for the star rating so maybe that's on me for having higher expectations.

If we hadn’t have fallen ill, this hotel would have for 5* from me. The pool is amazing, great quality sunbeds and lots of parasols The animation team are not on at you all the time and do short pieces in the pool so there’s plenty of free space to swim and play The food choice is outstanding and as a family with one fussy 10yr old, 2 vegetarians, a child who doesn’t eat red meat or fish, (and a husband who eats anything that doesn’t move), we never once struggled and we really looked forwards to breakfast every morning. So much choice, beautifully presented and the restaurant was a cool and pleasant place to eat. Staff were attentive and our rooms were clean and comfortable, (although we did have 2 cockroaches which freaked my daughter out massively!) We did a couple of trips and spent the evenings in the lobby or one of the bars or seated outside and loved the relaxing atmosphere after dinner. We even walked through the gardens at night as there are clean, well maintained and lit paths. Drinks were good, a good selection and accessible with multiple bars. Toilets needed to be checked and cleaned more regularly. I have however genuinely never been that ill on holiday and my husband was the same. We both wanted to come home at that point but were not even fit enough to fly. 2 days of our holiday lost to sickness and bad tummy so aside from that the whole holiday would have been amazing, our best yet. I would love to return to this hotel but in the back of my mind I do have this worry. Otherwise an outstanding hotel with amazing facilities, a real feel of luxury and lovely staff oh and the best pool we’ve ever had at all the hotels we’ve stayed at!

Quality of foods are really bad. They provide very little to no internet . No help on fixing anything. Overall really a very bad place to stay. It says All inclusive but the way they made everything it turns out to be just in name that’s all. You better stay some where else . This place is the worsy experience I ever had . If you do not want no WiFi and live on bad food, taste less food, chemicalized food then you stay here

This was my 5th stay at this hotel. All of the staff are so friendly, very clean. Every time i have been there is never a problem with sun loungers. Poolboys are very helpful. You can always get food from 7am till 10pm, food that should be hot is, unlike some other hotels. Animation team also make sure that everyone are ok and keep everyone amused.đŸ€Ł so will be back again.

Loved our trip to this excellent hotel in its quiet, lush garden setting. My teenage son has several food allergies but Abdellah the maitre d’ and his chefs took great care of him. I took a few things with us and they cooked them for him. They made us feel v welcome. The room was clean and spacious and the staff helpful and friendly. We even had a baby tortoise wandering up and down our corridor. We would definitely return.

Just got home- We had a amazing time, rooms were nice we was meant to have connecting rooms but didn't but couldn't be bothered after travel to question it. Staff are amazing so friendly. Food was standard AI not great not amazing but we didn't starve. Pool was great me and my youngest took great pleasure at laughing at the losers reserving beds at early hours! Seriously get a life 😂 did see quite a few cockroachs but didn't bother us. The shop well....possibly the rudest staff I've ever encountered and sod all in there. Would I go back? Yes if it wasn't for wanting to explore differnt places.

The hotel makes you relax and feel refreshed! The animation team is active and they make the atmosphere fun by events and activities. My son also enjoyed the kids center.

Cons: The receptionist hung up on us when we were asking him for an extra 5 mins to leave the room. It was 12pm and my baby had just woken up and we needed 5 minutes to pack and leave. The big room we had as a family was spacious but I wish it was divided inside to make 2 bedrooms separated by a door.

Facilities such as swimming pool and gym very good, food excellent but after a while not much variety, and accommodation excellent the room was big bed and pillows very comfortable and with the AC and fan it kept the room cool. Only the entertainment not very good, shows could have been more elaborate. The shuttle to the city also very helpful and it added a plus to the place.

My family and I stayed for a 10 day holiday at the hotel. I will start with the good things about the hotel. Staff are lovely and very helpful. I found the hotel rooms and grounds to be spotlessly clean. The pool was lovely and the star of the hotel. The down sides. The rooms were very basic and we had a few cockroach friends partying in the bathroom and the ants are huge. This has been said time and time again but sunbeds!!! Being on holiday and having to set an alarm for 6.30am so we could get sunbeds was awful. Even at that time when I went down 75% had already been reserved. It was said that staff were taking tips to reserve beds which shouldn’t be allowed. It did amaze me how some people were sat in the exact same space each day. Then the sunbeds themselves are not the best with many broken. Umbrellas were also a nightmare with lots broken and in the blazing sun an umbrella is a must. Around the pool was a lot of broken tiles and bits of broken concrete so always keep the pool shoes on. The floor tiles around the pool were extremely slippery so we had a few near falls. The food wasn’t the best unfortunately. It was pretty much the same day in and day out, I got bored very quickly or just didn’t like what was offered. We had a few instances of meat so overcooked it was inedible and then meat that was raw and inedible. Breakfast was my favourite meal of the day. We did try the Italian restaurant which was as far from Italian food as you could get. Give it a miss. The Moroccan restaurant was very poor, we left after we found the chicken raw. It’s not a restaurant for children so we ended up back in the main restaurant. Entertainment was not great. I have to give the entertainment guys credit though as they work all day doing activities around the pool and then have to put a show on in the evening. Some visiting entertainment would be good. We did brave going into Marrakesh but found it unpleasant. We did a Tui tour that left at 2pm which we found as the day went on to get hotter and hotter. Walking around Marrakesh in 40oc heat is no fun. Keep children close as my children were approached a few times. Certainly some interesting smells down the narrow corridors where motorbikes would whizz past you. The animals on chains was the hardest thing for me to see, monkeys with chains around their necks being pulled around clearly distressed. Overall we had a lovely holiday but it’s not somewhere I would return. I think it’s marketed as a 4 star but I would say close to a 3 star.

Just returned and lots of positives- food good, staff attentive, free bus to Marrakesh, clean and food and drink plentiful. However, we asked 4 times for fridge to be repaired and it was still not done so not able to keep anything cold. Had to get up at 5.30 for subbed and saw many staff placing towels on sunbeds for guests we were not told at reception that this was banned. The noise round the pool is awful and I agree with a previous poster that it was like a club 18/30 Butlins. Many hair flooring in pool and lots of grit on floor. The woman in the shop is utterly rude and the bus driver on the free bus to Marrakesh tried to get me to go with their ‘guide’ for a tour despite me saying no. Tennis booking should be online or at the pool as it’s a hassle to collect rackets from reception. The worst night was Sunday night when the disco from the pool area was booming. It looks luxury on the surface but it’s full of many teenage boys dominating the pool area and unsupervised kids running around the buffet. Avoid if you want peace and quiet.

My son and I (ages 12 and 34) stayed here for 7 days. Positives first: Pool – Large and spacious, with a volleyball net that was used often. The water was clean and fresh—likely bromine-treated, as it didn’t have the strong chlorine smell. The pool is faultless: not too deep, but deep enough. WiFi – Excellent coverage, reliable connection, and consistently good speeds. Waiters in the restaurants – Most were good, and two were exceptional: friendly, remembered us, and knew our regular drinks. Grounds – The gardens, grass, and trees are beautifully maintained. Immaculate landscaping. All of the above I would rate close to 5-star standards. --- However... Sunbeds – Even if you're up at 5:30 AM, most sunbeds are already reserved (as I found out on my last day). By 6:00 AM, nearly all poolside loungers are taken. This is unacceptable. The hotel claims sunbed reservations aren't allowed, but this rule isn’t enforced. Towels should be removed from unoccupied beds before 8:00 AM to discourage this behavior. Culture outside the hotel – Unfortunately, as soon as you step outside, expect to be scammed, pressured, ripped off, or even threatened. In the souks (market alleyways), there are no visible prices. You have to ask repeatedly, and when you do, you're quoted an outrageous amount, lied to about the product, and pushed into aggressive haggling. You won’t know what a fair price is, and that’s part of the problem. Many shops appear to have networks of men working together, and they are not welcoming. It completely ruined the experience for us. We visited the new town, which was better—fewer scammers—but the crime rate is still high. We personally saw multiple people have their phones snatched right out of their hands by thieves on motorbikes. Begging is also a constant issue. There’s a lot of harassment. Do not hand anything out. After purchasing something from a souk, one seller pretended to help us find a “better place,” only to lead us down a back alley to a small shop with about seven aggressive men trying to pressure us into buying more. It was a very uncomfortable and unsafe situation. Entertainment staff – Mostly friendly, but many are young locals with inflated egos. For example, one smashed a volleyball into a child's face after losing a game. Their behavior doesn't match the professionalism of the waitstaff or most guests. Food – Overall, quite disappointing. Lunch is the same every day—very repetitive. Even if you try to explore different options, you’ll likely end up eating pizza (which, to be fair, was good), chips, and burgers. I’d give the food variety and quality a 2-star rating at best. The on-site Moroccan restaurant was particularly bad. Try it if you're curious, but go early so you still have time to eat elsewhere afterwards. Overall: The hotel itself isn’t terrible. The sunbed wars and repetitive, low-quality food are its biggest problems. Unrelated to the hotel: We booked a camel/quad bike/live music/fire show trip. It took up nearly the entire day (around 7.5 hours), and honestly, it wasn't worth it. You’re better off enjoying the pool instead. --- My advice to the hotel: Enforce sunbed rules: remove towels from unoccupied loungers before 8:00 AM. Rotate and improve the food menu daily to avoid repetition. ----- Would I return to the hotel? No. Would I return to Morocco? Definitely not Marrakech—maybe the coast, but not here.

I recently stayed at what was advertised as a 4-star hotel, and I was deeply disappointed. From the moment I entered my room, I was met with an infestation of ants—finding them in the bedroom and even on the bed was unacceptable. The phone in the room was not functional, and my requests for maintenance were completely ignored. The entertainment options were lackluster at best, with the same music playing on repeat daily and virtually no evening shows to speak of. Dining options were severely limited, with tasteless food that lacked variety and was the same every day. The hotel doesn’t provide food after 10:30 PM, which left us stranded with a hefty 300 dirham bill to get takeout! Basic amenities were lacking in the bathroom, and there were no tea or coffee facilities in the room. I was even charged a £20 deposit for an iron without being provided an ironing board. The pool area was shabby, with broken sun loungers and wasps everywhere. The drink selection was poor, making it hard to enjoy any refreshments. The only redeeming quality was the friendly staff who, obviously, deserved a tip for putting up with the chaos. This hotel is not a 4-star establishment—avoid at all costs!

Poolside - large pool, lots of sunbeds but a lot are broken/damaged and the pool men spend time finding good ones for you. Brollys the same ripped and broken so won’t stay up or in place at times. Flooring is poor lots of broken tiles and sharp areas. Rooms - clean large rooms. Needs a bit of upkeeping and upgrading, wear and tear damage to tiles. Door handles on patio nearly falling off We had ground floor and you can hear every noise from upstairs- very very noisy Every time above or next room opens the patio door it sounds like it’s your room Housekeeping is good but they will only make the beds not fresh linen even when asked ( changed once in a week) Staff - very friendly, helpful and polite. Restaurant staff are brilliant We had a small child and at times you need to ask them to stop as they can feel Over friendly to children (our opinion) Reception is large area plenty of seating but very poor air con. Shop is gifts very small selection of crisps and chocolate bars no other food Restaurant buffet ok limited breaks fast options and not always fresh pastries. Hotel asked for feedback on the night they gave out free fizzy wine chocolate and sweets - the night after service was quite poor and nothing given out?! Should not only go all out on feedback night. The hotel had charged us for the fizzy wine the night before then the rest of the week it was free - not good service. Hotel is nice in places and looks picturesque in areas but rooms, sunbeds and flooring needs some attention to the damaged areas as it lets the hotel down a lot. Would not re visit the hotel based on this.

Wow where do i start ! It's the worst hotel I have ever stayed in , the food is horrible a lot of it but tasteless and the same each night , they just bring out what's not eaten at lunch and warm it through , the salads are good and the bread but that's it , the drink they offer is the cheapest you could ever imagine and is like paint stripper . I think the worst thing about this though and I have to be honest it's the people it attacks ! It's like an 18/30 "s bultlins I honestly can't tell you how rough it is . I know I sound harsh but if you want a bit of luxury and peace this is not the place , now the pool areas shocking there are not enough sunbeds and my partner actually heard people at 4,30 moving sunbeds and putting towels out !!! The hotel know there isn't enough and aren't bothered people were arguing about it all the time we were there and when you get one they are so old my back was sore you can feel.ever metal rod on them , all in all it's really not good, marrakech is so nice to see but not from this hotel.. we both said it's the first time we are ashamed to be British!! .there was one lady asking at the bar to fill a large flask with vodka if that is anything to go by . This hotel is NOT a 4 star at all .

We had a great trip. We stayed for a week all inclusive. Firstly entering the hotel was great. Quick check in service and welcome drinks on arrival. The hotel is huge, so they take you to your rooms on a buggy with your suitcases. The rooms are large, sitting area and private balconies. There is only one pool but it is big so there’s lots of sun-beds around. We soon learnt that we needed to get up to put towels down around 6:30am to get a sun-bed in the front row, they did go very quickly. The reps are great. There’s loads of things going on throughout the day, bingo, volleyball, Zumba dances, bowls. The entertainment in the night isn’t so great. I’m sure kids will enjoy it but we didn’t think it was the best. The reps do the entertainment shows in the evening, I think they could bring people in whether that’s singers, bands or could do like quiz nights. The cleaners do the rooms everyday, however I don’t think the floor in the rooms are mopped everyday. Often we would get out of the shower, there would be dirt on our feet and then would go onto the bed. The buffet was great. There was a variety of option every night and they also have two separate restaurants. Italian and Moroccan. The Moroccan night was our favourite. The grounds are also lovely. Lots of palm trees, greenery and ponds with lots of seating/chill out areas. As we didn’t love the entertainment in the night, we would usually chill and play cards. It’s a 20 minute taxi ride into the centre of Marrakesh where you can explore the souks. An experience to say the least but we enjoyed exploring. It’s 100 dirham for a taxi one way in the day and 150 for the evening. Very easy to grab a taxi. They are right outside the hotel and security will call them on the radio and they come straight away. Overall, we had a fabulous stay and would recommend.

This is a wonderful resort. The staff are friendly and efficient. Food is excellent and there is something for everyone to eat. Entertainment staff are fun and activities are well attended. Our room was clean and spacious. Bedding was clean and linens were soft and comfortable. Pillows are quite thick, so if you like a really thin pillow this might be something to see if you can request. Areas around the resort are well maintained and it was nice to be at a resort where the pool towels were plush. It was also easy to book and take the shuttle into Marrakesh’s Medina. We felt safe at this resort and would happily visit again.

My wife and our 14-year-old son spent a week at the Rui Tikida in late July, 2025. You’ll always get extreme reviews but we are very well travelled and this was overall a very good holiday. Sure there are some things that you’d ideally like to see done differently but in general we were very pleased. What I would say is that I’d definitely come back. There are cats (and even kittens when we were there) on site. Cute and seem looked after by the staff. Lots of people petting them but I’d steer clear, lots of rabies in Morocco. Hotel Quite a large complex but everything was easy to walk to. The main building is nicely presented, with a spacious reception, a small shop selling crisps, chocolate and souvenirs. The restaurants and pool are right next to the main building. A cool temperature and a relaxed atmosphere. If you like walking or running, there is a stone path around the outskirts of the complex. It’s over a mile in length. The rooms are clean and spacious with a patio area. Not outstanding but certainly good enough for a nice, comfortable holiday. The gym was decent and has an indoor pool too. Pool Very good sized pool with lots of music and entertainment. This is not a place for people looking to avoid family holiday shenanigans. Lots of families, quite modern music (not blasting out other than when it’s entertainment time!). It’s not deep, an adult can stand anywhere in it. They have water polo need, volleyball nets etc. they do water aerobics etc. People are up early in the morning snatching up the sun beds they want. It didn’t get oversubscribed so nobody went without but if you want your perfect spot get out there before 7.30am. Restaurants One restaurant right next to the pool is used for breakfast and lunch. The selection and quality is good but expect the offering to be very similar every day. Lots of Moroccan dishes plus crowd pleasers like burgers, pizzas etc. In the evening there is a different buffet in the main building. Alternatively you can pre-book using the RIU app to go for the Moroccan restaurant or the Italian restaurant. The evening buffet again was decent but similar each day. Again, Moroccan dishes along with typical crowd pleasers for tourists. The Moroccan restaurant was much smaller, quieter and a nice relaxed vibe. We didn’t bother with the Italian restaurant. Bars There is one bar next to reception which is a decent vibe and spacious
and air conditioned which is a blessing at night! There is another bar in the main building in a room used for evening entertainment (family entertainment). There are 2 bars next to the pool. One remains open at night with a live musician (same guy every night with a pre-programmed keyboard butchering famous songs
it’s pretty bad). All bars have the exact same offering. This was probably my biggest frustration but it’s an all inclusive so not really surprising. All beer is draft; Flag Speciale (a 5% ABV Moroccan pilsner) which is actually ok. You can get red, white and rose wine which are ok. Spirits and cocktails are on the menu but very little alcohol is added. Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, Fanta and mocktails too. The bars outside are occupied by lots of local honey bees (not wasps) searching for sugar energy. They’re fine, bees won’t hurt you unless you threaten them. Staff Absolutely everyone was superb. Helpful, polite and eager to please. This includes reception, bars, restaurants, the guys with golf carts transporting your luggage. Everyone seems able to converse well in English and French. Location The hotel is a 15 minute drive from the madness of wonderful Marrakesh and its famous souks. A free bus will take you from the hotel to a drop off point about a 5/10 minute walk from Jemaa el-Fna square which is a famous, crazy place with snake charmers abusing cobras, moneys on metal leads etc
pretty disgusting but don’t let that put you off. Lots of great food, especially at night
and of course the souks are an experience and a half (a huge maize, be prepared to get lost). The bus runs every couple of hours and picks up from the same spot in the city to bring you back. The taxis are a fine option too, we used them a couple of times. Everyone was friendly around the city. We never felt unsafe. Sure, you’ll get approached regularly from people looking to sell something but in my experience everyone accepted a “no thank you” first time round and didn’t persist. A 10 minute walk from the hotel you’ll find a couple of petrol stations. One has a supermarket next to it. These are perfectly safe to walk to and quite nice to go buy an ice cream or some drinks for your room etc.

Mooi resort. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Zeer gastvrij en niks aan s te veel. Zeer schoon en goed onderhouden.

Cons: Het eten was enorm eentonig.

This was the worst resort I have ever stayed at with TUI. It needs to have its rating removed, as there is no way on earth that this is a RIU Platinum. I will do a list of pros and cons, that's the easiest way to do this. CONS : 1/ The food is the same every day, even in the restaurants, and the food is awful, uncooked, cold, and bland, with flies on all the cold food. Everywhere is buffet self-service, even in restaurants, and they all serve you warm water with your food, as well as at the bars. 2/ There are a lot of cockroaches. We were greeted by a huge one in our room the night we arrived. 3/ There are not enough sun beds and umbrellas around the pool, and they are mostly all broken. Lots of arguments between holiday makers if you dare get their bed before them. At 6 am, in the dark, people are out putting towels on the sun beds. Poolboys only help you if you tip them, and the floor around the pool kept breaking and lifting like little earthquakes, and was re-cemented and fixed whilst people tried to sunbathe. 4/ The alcohol was of very poor quality and they would give you such small portions that people were having to ask for 3 wines just to fill a glass. 5/ The rooms looked nice, but things kept breaking and not working and the air con was useless. 6/ Everyday was the same the entertainment was rubbish . 7/ The shop was also over priced and what they did have in was of poor quality. 8/ The signs to the rooms are not right and make no sense what so ever. 9/ Floor was uneaven and slippy. 10/ lighting was terrible around the gardens you couldn't see a thing . 11/ They charge you a whopping 110 Durams each person per hour to have a later check out. PROS : 1/ The gardens were lovely 2/ The male hairdresser and the lady who did my pedicure were great 3/ The gym is good 4/ The indoor pool is good

We were a party of four - two adults & two 17 yr olds. Arrival at Reception was very smooth even at 23:00 & we were also offered to change sterling to their currency too! The rooms were very spacious with plenty of room for storage and suitcases for the week. The beds are wider singles beds then in the UK, so together, the bed was huge with longer pillows too (and these were of good quality) I’d like to say, the grounds team/gardens were stunning and extremely well loved and looked after. We can’t fault the quality of service by the rooms maids - excellent clean rooms daily & new large bottles of water each day. The bar staff in all four bars were outstanding, working very hard all day l, special shout out to the team at the bar near the towel exchange area, as they were rushed off their feet daily but also had a smile a laugh and a joke with the guests. The entertainment team were phenomenal - the whole group dance routine at the start and end of each shift really is great to take part in and to see pretty much all the guests around the pool area, both in & out of the pool, taking part, is a great sight to see! The restaurant’s were beautifully run like clockwork, with the staff having time for each guest who needed attention. Our table was never without a full glass at any meal time & some of the waiting staff really shone brightly. The food always very well cooked and presented, was of typical all inclusive, with a few special dishes thrown in for good measure. Hubby & my daughter’s boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed the extensive variation of choices of meat with each meal. I would like to recommend a trip to an evening at the Moroccan restaurant! A beautiful room with stunning decor and delicious dishes to choose from. Trips - we did the camel track - a short journey away from the hotel. We were dressed in all the traditional clothes and given camels to ride, which was a lot of fun. Due to the heat, this was just the right length of trip, finished off with mint tea & some biscuits. We were back at the hotel in plenty of time for lunch! Food wise, the only thing I would have liked more of is a greater variation of desserts - we’ve been to many all inclusive hotels where the variation for desserts has been incredibly greater. We will come back - we have no fault or issues with any area of service whatsoever. Thank you Riu Tikida Palmaraie RL Meredith & family

The hotel was okay; but just too many irritations to want to return. The rooms were okay, but the aircon is terrible. There is a controller in the room but I I don't think it actually does anything. It seems to have been set right at the bottom end of acceptable and at a temp that will cost the least to run. Both my kids and I had cockroaches in our rooms. The pool area is okay, but with some gripes. There aren't enough sunbeds, and so many of the sunbeds are broken. The pool bar area doesn't have enough tables & chairs and often the queues are long. Food-wise, it's okay. There's a decent range. Pizza & pasta bars, some grilled meat & fish; and usually a couple of tajines on the go. It's nothing to get excited about, but was good enough that you don't find yourself eating the same thing every meal. Drinks-wise, this hotel is a bit of a joke. If you order any of the cocktails from the "with alcohol" section, you have to watch them pour them. Out at the pool bar in particular they will often "forget" to put any alcohol in. If you point that out to them they will add the smallest drizzle of alcohol. You will get absolutely fed up, by the end of the holiday, with having to continuously remind them to add alcohol, and then to get them to add an acceptable amount. It's frustrating and irritating given that you have paid for an all-inclusive concept. To end on a positive note: The entertainment staff are nothing short of excellent.

I was a little worried about the hotel given the reviews, however there was nothing to worry about. For the price we paid it was as expected. We didn't see any bugs, the pool area was maintained and cleaned each day and yes there were broken sunbeds, however plenty of working ones, if you got up early enough to reserve. All the staff were brilliant, couldn't do enough for you. The coffees were amazing and the hotel itself set out lovely in massive grounds, so we got to do plenty of walking. The only thing to let it down a little was the food, it was super basic, you had to que as the way the breakfast/lunch restaurant was set out wasn't great, however if you pick your time you can get past this. The snack bar was a little disappointing, just lunch left overs, and when I asked for a panini I was told it was finished, and the snack bar was still open for a few more hours. The mint tea was delicious and the bookable buffets were nice to be able to have access too The pool was great, a lovely temperature and we used it everyday. Plenty of activities were on offer throughout the day, and the animation staff did a great job. Hubby says rhe gym was good. The adjoining rooms were a great idea, so we had a door, that lead into a porch then twin doors for each of the rooms we had booked. The rooms were comfortable. It would have been nice to have coffee/tea making facilities in the room. I did see the reviews on this so took the liberty of taking a travel kettle, so we were good. As a family I would go back, however if travelling as a couple I'm not sure I would, but that is my preference. As said you get what you pay for, so we were happy and had a good family holiday. Just let down a bit by the food.

We stayed at this hotel for a week in June as a couple. The reception was large and impressive. Check in was quite fast, we decided to walk to our room rather than wait for the golf buggy ride, as we arrived late at night. The room was large with good air con and good facilities. The hotel had some food available until midnight which was good. The all inclusive drinks lasted till midnight. On the first morning we got up and managed to get sun beds before going for breakfast. At breakfast the pancakes etc were lovely there was plenty of choice. Lunch was also very good again with a good choice. The evening buffet was also very good for a buffet. The pool is very big and although a little cool going in was a nice temperature. We used the Italian restaurant, and morrocan restaurant the later was much better. We visited the spa for a massage which was excellent. The hotel was spotless you could book a free transfer to Marrakesh using the Riu app both there and return journey. We didn't enjoy the souks however we enjoyed shopping around the square. Tip you need to get up early to get sun beds which is annoying 2 should be allocated to each room? The latest you can check our is 12.00 we used the spa to have a shower and change for the return flight. Animation team are excellent however the evening entertainment was hit and miss personal highlight was karaoke night. If you fancy a special night out go to Nobu rooftop restaurant it's not cheap but is stunning.

The hotel is an "oasis" just outside the very busy, cacophonic and polluted town centre. The service, food, staff are excellent and gardens are a calming effect after a day out in town. I had a hired car and found local drivers inconsiderate and aggressive, but the worst are the police who shake you down - they stop you for no reason and ask for cash - no receipt or explanation for the "fine" - you just pay and consider it a part of the cost of being able to go off the tourist track!

The Hotel was beautiful and the staff were all fantastic and couldn’t do enough for you. The only downside was that you couldn’t get a sunbed unless you woke early to put your towels on the beds. The first couple of days we had to walk around and nab the odd one to make 4. Umbrellas were being taken if they weren’t up. The pool guy tried to move us as someone who spoke French wanted where we were laying. We then had to join in and my husband would wake around 7am and even then the majority of the beds had been taken by holiday makers and they had gone elsewhere but as long as they had a bed to come back to. It’s shocking. We work so hard and then to come away and not have a lie in because you may not get a bed if you do. For that reason, we won’t be returning to this hotel. We loved Morocco and will return again.

The hotel looks amazing and really posh. The pool is huge although you do get usual towels on sunbeds at the crack of dawn situation we could usually find a sunbed somewhere but we spent more time in the pool than sunbathing so didn't really matter. There was a very wide selection of food from pasta/pizza to fish or paella with loads of veg fruit cheese breads deserts etc. There is something for everyone. The room are huge with air con and our cleaner Asma left us cute origami towel swans every day. The entertainment in the evening you will enjoy if you just go with it lol. Nihal is amazing & should be a TV star with her enthusiasm!

Cons: A strong and persistent sewage smell in both Suites made the nights very difficult. We had to sleep with the windows wide open, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this category. Unfortunately, after two poor nights of sleep, our days were ruined by fatigue. As a RIU CLASS member, I am very disappointed by this experience

Third consecutive year of family holidays at this hotel, and we're becoming bigger fans! Our review is extremely positive! The people, the treatment, the care, the food, the entertainment, the animation - everything is of enormous quality and empathy. Well done! Thank you for the way you welcome, treat, and help us truly relax on holiday. A special mention to the staff and animation team - 5 stars.

Cons: Keep up the good work, congratulations. We'll definitely be back.

Had an amazing experience, came at the beginning of July and the weather was pretty hot. Honestly couldn't feel it, I was in the pool most of the time. I expected it to be a lot more packed but the resort is pretty big so you aren't always waiting in lines or feeling clustered with other people. The food was great, the Moroccan restaurant requires a reservation so plan that ahead of time. Issam at the bar was amazing. He kept the drinks coming and had us entertained with his knowledge of the country. Then I met Nihal, who was also amazing. Loved her energy, we were never bored for a second. Everyone caters to you. She will recommend fun stuff to do. We did the karaoke and enjoyed some dancing. Rooms were spacious and clean, and had the AC off rooms open with the blinds closed to protect from mosquitoes. I liked the location, others might not but I believe they have a shuttle to help you get around, we came by car. Want to give another shout out to the front desk lady who was not only quick but efficient. I've been to resorts all over the world and this one will be one I recommend to others.

The Riu Tikida Palmeraie was up there with one of the best hotels myself and my partner have stayed in. The grounds are gorgeous, the staff are incredible and the pool, food and rooms are all fantastic. We had such a fantastic time that we got home on the Monday and had another holiday booked for next year. Our only complaint was that we only stayed for 7 nights! The bar and waiting staff are super attentive and friendly, once they got to know you they’d remember your drinks order and serve you at your table. The animation staff were also really fantastic. We took part in several activities (darts and water volleyball being the favourites) and danced in the evenings at the disco after the shows. We were sad to leave, but look forward to coming again next May. Thank you Riu Tikida Palmeraie!!

I had a very pleasurable experience at Riu Tikida Palmeraie. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring every detail was taken care of. The hotel offers an ideal balance of quality and affordability—truly the best quality for the best price. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was varied and delicious, and the pool area was perfect for relaxing. The entertainment and activities added a lively touch without being overwhelming. Whether for a short getaway or a longer stay, I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent service and great value.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 4 nights in March and it was quite a pleasant stay. I think I would give it 3.5 stars if I could but I think giving it 3 would be a bit harsh! Pros: - Stayed during Ramadan which I was initially slightly worried if it would affect anything, it didn’t at all only thing was dinner was slightly later so for young familles may be something to consider. - We had the standard room and it was really nice and clean. - No issues by the pool getting sunbeds etc, although wasn’t peak season. Also was a really nice touch that you could get Uno and other games from the towel hut at no cost! - Didn’t use it but had a shuttle service to the medina and centre - Loved the 3pm snack in the main buffet serving pancakes, coffees, ice creams - Entertainment team were exceptionally friendly - Landscaping and gardening was well maintained Cons Food - In general, I felt a bit disappointed by the food. It was cold by the time you got back to your seat and lacked flavour big time. I’m a vegetarian so would be having the same meals and limited choice at all-inclusives however what I ate was just bland in my opinion. - Themed restaurants are in fact themed buffets not à la cartes. Partially my bad as I booked them thinking they were à la cartes and was very disappointed to find it was the buffet room decorated in Italian flags (we didn’t eat at the Moroccan but that was a dedicated restaurant so may be different). Feedback wise, I really think it wouldn’t take much to make this nicer, having fresh dough and mozzarella to make the pizzas and some different, fancier types of pasta would seriously improve it as otherwise it’s the main buffet with less choice and leftovers. Entertainment As lovely as the entertainment team were it was a little bit intense, twice daily rounds by the pool which was, on paper, really nice but sometimes you do want to be left alone. Sounds really harsh to say but the evening shows were tragic, especially when you’re getting zero buzz from the drinks to take the pain away. Again the people were lovely but I think a bit of training or better shows/routines would be better. Check in Usual queues and wait at check in to be expected, not a big issue for me. I think what either TUI (who I booked through) or Riu should’ve sent a dedicated email letting people know they can check in online. I personally did and the reception desk man was very appreciative but it wasn’t obvious and I think if people knew where to they would’ve, saving time and employees patience! Don’t want to get on my high horse but was left quite offended at check in. It was my boyfriend and I going (as I’ve mentioned), I’ve looked for the hotel, booked it with myself as lead passenger as most girlfriends do and checked in online, again with myself as lead passenger. Why do I get there and everything’s in my boyfriend’s name? Even booking restaurants on the app and I default to my surname with our room number, shock horror it can’t find a booking with that last name but works with my boyfriend’s. Just utterly bizarre especially when he’s had no involvement in booking the hotel. Really not on with a hotel chain as big as Riu. Off my high horse now, for a 4 day mini break it was really pleasant and Morocco’s great for a bit of winter sun. I probably would stay there again for a similar length of time but probably not a week. We also got it on a deal when booking, and I don’t think I’d pay full price. Aware of how the cons look versus the pros and I do think it is a nice place I just wanted to explain my feedback in more detail.

We’ve just returned from this hotel last week. Overall we had a good experience here and enjoyed our stay. The room we had was in block 4 and was very spacious and clean and on the plus side near the pool. Comfortable bed and always well cleaned. We did spot 2 cockroaches however wasn’t overly concerned as it was very hot. The grounds of the hotel are stunning. We enjoyed the food though it did become a little repetitive but expect that from All. inclusive and overall the food was very good. The speciality restaurants are ok but buffet and the same food you get in the main restaurant. All Drinks were watered down and they give you such small servings which is not great in 44 degree heat as you either have to ask for 2 lots or keep going back. The barmen and staff were very nice. My main complaint would be the sunbeds or lack of. The only way to ensure you get a sunbed is to get up at 6.30 am (not great when you are on holiday and would welcome a lie in !) and tip the pool boys. Many of the sunbeds in a good position at that time had already been ‘reserved’ as it were (obviously by people tipping a lot more) and you’ve no chance of a bed much later. The system is ridiculous. On a couple of days when I had no money on me the pool boy almost scowled at me. How dare I want a sunbed for free on my holiday ! It was almost as if they begrudged giving me a sunbed without the tip ! Where there is little else to do in the local area you need to be able to sunbathe without this pressure. There is plenty of room around the pool so why don’t they just buy more sunbed and parasols ?? For this reason I would not return or recommend this hotel to friends or family. This is a shame as everything else was pretty good and it is a good hotel. If I was to return I would likely pick the Rui Tikida Garden as I spoke to people at the airport and they had no issues with sunbeds. I enjoyed Marrakech and certainly worth a visit. We did the Atlas Mountains excursion and it was fantastic. I didn’t enjoy the Medina due to animal cruelty towards snakes and monkeys and the motorbikes are dangerous. Overall a good holiday if the weather was a little too hot travelling here in June. I would avoid June if returning.

It's such a beautiful and relaxing resort. The staff were so warm and friendly and gave outstanding customer service. The highlights: the high standards of food from the buffets, the huge pool, the hotel's gardens and the main bar opposite reception was an oasis of calm to relax in after a busy day sightseeing. We have already rebooked for next year at this hotel!

My review of this hotel is mixed; I read a lot of reviews before we came for the first time (came end of June and left early July, 4 adults for 10 nights) and the weird thing is the good and the bad are all spot on, just some have taken it to the extreme (both ways). I went through so many mixed emotions in the fortnight before we went reading the reviews as they were so mixed, but now I see why people have said what they have. So here’s my own opinion and it will explain why I’ve given it 3/5. Check in: really quick and a golf buggy took us and our cases to our block (block 5) then he carried the suitcases upstairs. Annoyingly he then stood there waiting for a tip. Fortunately we had some MAD but if you don’t it’s a slightly awkward situation. We arrived at 11pm and there was no mention at all of food like I’ve read on other reviews. Fortunately we ate on the plane, had we not it would have been a very long and hungry evening. It could just be that the particular person who checked us in just didn’t tell us, and we were that tired we didn’t think to ask (plus as I say we had eaten anyway). Reception area: stunning, plenty of seats, and with air con. The shop is also in this part and is definitely worth a look. I wouldn’t buy any crisps though, nearly every bag looked ready to blow! Staff - they all work so hard in every area and are all ridiculously friendly. Contrary to popular belief you do not need to tip to get better service as it’s already excellent (bar what I said above) but tips are hugely appreciated. 20 MAD is less than £2, small fry to some but huge to them. Shout out to Fadel, one of the waiters who is so attentive, friendly and genuinely cares about your stay, and made a lovely fuss for my birthday (and all other days). He made me a lovely Moroccan tea when I had an upset stomach then asked several times over the next couple of days how I was feeling. The pool bar staff (one nearest the restaurant) could sometimes do with listening to drinks orders a little better but they were still friendly. My daughter emailed the hotel before we arrived to say it was my birthday while we were there and I had petals on my bed, then received a bottle of Prosecco and a chocolate cake at dinner which were lovely, plus the staff sang happy birthday. Bedrooms: spacious and really comfy, huge beds. Very firm large pillows (just adding this as some people prefer soft). Air con isn’t great but ceiling fan along with air con cools the room. We requested a high floor (there’s only ground and first) which had a nice balcony with 2 chairs and a table. Lovely walk in shower. Maids do a fab job although we had a couple of days without bottled water top up - no big issue as you can get them from reception but it’s a bit of a trek back. Just to say here, I timed it and our rooms in Block 5 were a 6 minute walk to reception so you definitely get your steps in! My gripe with the rooms is the bath towels, they’re tiny! I have long hair and they weren’t even big enough for my head after washing my hair, let alone to wrap round my body. The fridge in one of the rooms kept breaking but each time we reported it and it was sorted quickly. The rooms could do with some TLC but overall they were lovely. Pools: gigantic outdoor pool which was welcome in the temperature we had (in its 40s). I read about slippy tiles and thought duh they’re going to be, it’s water - people are not wrong! There is zero grip on them! The outdoor pool could definitely do with better cleaning in the actual pool but the staff worked very hard first thing to clean the outside. My son said the indoor pool is lovely but he didn’t use the facilities there so we can’t comment on anything else. Some of the tiles around the outside pool are in serious need of repair - they’re dangerous and do not make this look like a 4 star hotel. They started fixing some while we were there but more were breaking in other places. Probably due to the heat, but surely some better quality tiles/grouting/cement would stop this? They repair areas by breaking up tiles and laying pieces on a bed of cement, so anywhere you see a “mosaic”, that’s the short term repair. Sadly there were a lot of these areas. Visually it doesn’t look great but what bothered me more was how easy it was to trip over. You can take inflatables in the outdoor pool and the animation team do some fab activities in there. Sunbeds: everyone’s favourite thing on holiday! It is correct that people go out early and reserve them. I have also read that people tipped the pool boys who reserve them for you. I didn’t do this and they still helped if I needed it. If you want a certain spot and/or a guaranteed parasol then you need to be up by 7:30, (although it did start getting earlier as the holiday went on and the hotel started getting busier), if you’re not fussed you can get a bed at any time; if you can’t see any spare just ask a pool boy and they’ll sort you no problem. I believe they’re based near the “animation box” if you can’t see one pottering around. They can source you beds but maybe not always a parasol. Another gripe is so many of the sunbeds are broken but are still there for people to use which is dangerous. They definitely need to overhaul these, and get a lot more parasols. Quick tip here, you need 2 towels for the bed if you visit in the summer as they’re like fire, so take some of your own as you only get 1 RIU towel per person. Grounds: immaculate and so pretty. There are some lovely long settees outside reception which are perfect for a chill, although quite stained in places (again would you expect this at 4 star?) Food: decent selection for all meals, there’s a bit of everything. I don’t have a varied palate but the other 3 do and ate plenty. One downside is it’s one long queue for the hot food which was frustrating when you knew what you wanted but couldn’t “cut in”. My biggest gripe here is the lack of labels - I’m not one of these “just try it” people as I don’t like waste. Especially on the cold food selection, no labels at all, although at the end of the holiday more started appearing gradually. We tried the Italian which was basically the same food as the evening meal but still nice. We didn’t bother with the Moroccan as only my husband wanted to try it. The bread isn’t great but when it’s so hot I can’t see how they could change that. The “English” part of the breakfast isn’t great but you’re not going to get exactly what you have at home when you’re in Morocco. The consensus of everyone was that lunch was the best meal. Although the wrap station on the Friday night at dinner was out of this world. Drinks: this is my biggest gripe. I read about the spirits being watered down and thought people were exaggerating. Unfortunately, these reviews are correct, plus the actual measures are small. Yes if you asked for more you got it (more watered down stuff though) but you should not have to ask every single time. I spent the entire first day drinking cocktails and didn’t even feel remotely tipsy. We ended up taking a hot walk to the local supermarket for some alcohol for in the room, just so we felt like we had had an actual drink, not what you expect or should happen at a 4 star AI hotel. (To note, the supermarket only sells alcohol after 11am and not on a Friday). Yes we are in Morocco and that may explain the weakness of spirits but it’s a tourist hotel so the tourists need catering for, and I do genuinely believe they are watered down and not just poor quality. The wine is ok, good selection of soft drinks, we didn’t try the lager. Top tip, take an insulated cup with a lid (wasps) but be aware the temperatures made the outside of it very hot! And get some spirits in Duty Free/on the plane if you’ll be wanting a proper drink. Gym: son visited it regularly and said it was good. Tennis court: easy to book with reception but son and husband wish they hadn’t bothered as the court was impossible to play on. Cockroaches: unfortunately not an exaggeration on reviews. We specifically requested a high floor to try lessen the chances of getting them but we had several visits in 2 of the 3 rooms. I reported it to the TUI rep, we went to reception, and the maids gave the rooms a deep clean and left some spray. Sadly that spray was needed just 2 days later and a few times throughout our stay. I then found one in my suitcase when I started to pack so they were present in all 3 rooms. It’s not that the staff don’t care, they just need a little more understanding and empathy that to them it’s normal (a bit like in the UK we get spiders in our houses), but to most guests it isn’t. And they’re not small either! Quite a few in the reception toilets as well. You just have to get used to looking around and on the floor first before entering a cubicle. Check out: easy to do but late check out is ridiculously expensive and if you have a double room you are automatically charged for 2 people as it’s per person per hour. Just to note there are no scales in the baggage room (not a gripe, just an FYI). I didn’t purposely go looking for bad things whilst I was there, despite the reviews, and I went with a completely open mind so this review follows that. You might be feeling how I was before we went; panicking about going after reading some reviews, but the great stuff really is great and you won’t have an appalling holiday (just a sober one!) The hotel could just really do with some TLC and unless it happens then I cannot see how this can maintain 4 star standards. They also really need to sort the alcohol situation out as it just gives the impression of being money saving focused and not good customer service. It’s definitely not up to typical RIU standards compared to others we have stayed in. Are we happy we went - yes. Would we recommend - sadly not at this time.

On arriving late in the evening there was an area for us to grab some food and we eventually found the bar for a drink before it shut at midnight. Our first day meeting the Tui rep at 10.00 was a waste of time for us especially as we struggled to get a bed after and the ones we did find were damage and not very comfortable. After that first day I got up early to find better quality beds and umbrellas in the location we preferred. Every day cost me tips to the pool boy and getting up earlier and earlier to get a sun bed. It got so bad that some people had their sun beds stollen with their belongings moved when they went for lunch. The tiles around the pool were very poor and the drinks very weak as others have said you can drink all day and night and not feel affected at all. The food was good with no complaints. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. We did managed to book our room for late checkout but cost us £35 each for the luxury of a more relaxed last day. We had a number of issues with the room which were all dealt with quickly except the air conditioner as it was constantly on low and no matter what we did it didn’t change. It sounds like all the rooms are set the same which is frustrating when temperatures are in the 40’s Overall, a very relaxing holiday, but probably wouldn’t choose to visit again due to the issues mentioned above

We had a really fun stay at the hotel. It’s very clean. The staff are excellent and it has pretty much all the facilities you would like. It’s excellent value for money, probably one of the cheapest all inclusive you can find. Some previous reviews have mentioned broken sun lounges and some damage to the flooring areas around the pool, this was still the case although the flooring areas were being repaired while we were there. As previous reviews have noted is probably just about enough sun lounges around the pool but there seems a general culture of having to get up at 6:30 in the morning to reserve them. I’m an early riser so this wasn’t too much of a problem for me, but it’s probably not the relaxing holiday experience some people would like. The food is pretty good. A general buffet has lots of choice and the breakfast were excellent. The Moroccan restaurant is really great and in general the Moroccan foods tend to be better than the western foods local beers and wines are perfectly fine. Spirit measures are definitely on the short side. It’s hard to see you ever getting drunk here! Overall, we had a great day would definitely recommend

Had a lovely relaxing week in this hotel. The hotel was clean , food was nice, staff were some of the nicest we've met. What stops me from offering a 5 star review? Sunbeds; even getting up at 7am it was a struggle to get a sunbed and often noone came to the bed that were reserved all day. Secondly, the hotel was a little dated and lots of minor repairs that are required. If we can see them as guests the surely the management can.

Reception, bar area and restaurant were beautiful. Food and staff fantastic. However the further in you go the less appealing this hotel becomes. 1st room no air-conditioning. Bathroom mirror hanging on by a thread. Requested 3 times to be fixed. Rep had us moved into another room. Better but not great. Shower leaked over bathroom floor. Don't think our maid knew how to make a bed. Bottom sheet always looked like we'd just got up but it was clean. Now to the pool.....I'm disabled and use a wheelchair..pool was very accessible for me, however getting up early hours to rabbit a decent sunbed is not good and when I say decent I mean one that isn't broken...very poor state of affairs...apparently the hotel holds 950 people...I certainly wouldn't want to stay here height of the season..you just wouldn't get a bed...we struggled in june...certainly bedrooms need a refurbishment, new sunbeds required and definitely at least another pool

We have been regular visitors since 2012 to this hotel and have always been staunchly protective of it but we feel we must give an honest review this time around. First the C word (cockroaches) - We have seen very few in all our visits. There were definitely more this time but probably due to the time of year. They are mainly in the lobby toilets although we did have one in our room. A lot of people said they had them in their room and they all appeared to be in block 5. If you speak to reception straight away they will give the room a full clean and also leave spray. If you are not happy then ask reception if it’s possible to change rooms. They will always help if they can. To add to this I always take a walk around the grounds in the morning and block 5 looks to be very run down now and could do with some maintenance. I have read the managements replies to previous reviews suggesting that this is because that block is close to vegetation but it is no excuse. People are paying good money to stay here and if you are staying in block 5 you should still expect the same standards as those staying in block 4,3 2 and 1. Drinks at the bars can be very weak. We’ve always said this but on this visit it has been more noticeable. This is mainly in regards to spirits and cocktails. I witnessed myself one of the bar staff basically just dribble a shot if you can call it that over ice. Some bar staff look embarrassed to be doing this but some of the staff who you know from previous visits will usually put a bit more in. Has this come down from the management to save costs? A polite request for a bit extra and a smile normally works to get something that resembles an alcoholic drink. Sunbeds are reserved early (that's just the way it is). Some by guest and some by staff on behalf of guests. There are however plenty of places to sit although it might not be your favourite spot every day. The pool boys work very hard to try and find beds for everyone that wants them. The pool boys are thankful for a tip but I have never seen them asking for 100MAD to reserve a sun bed. There is definitely a shortage of good quality sun beds and parasols and there needs to be some investment from the powers that be to improve this. It is also worth pointing out to the management that the tiles around the pool are are in such a poor condition now. It is all very well doing a short term fix but this area needs a complete refurb. A new thing we noticed that is new is that plastic cups and flip flops are not allowed in or close to the pool. We’ve never known this before and were quite shocked to have a whistle blown and a stern telling off for sitting on the edge of the pool with a beer. This came from just one member of the lifeguard team. He was very happy with his whistle and looked to be on a power trip. I appreciate he was probably doing his job but pointing his finger and waving it at folk is not nice. There are more polite way of doing this. He may do his finger gesture to the wrong person one day! If drinks are not allowed then update the signage. The food is always top class. there is something for everyone. We have been to many all-inclusive's and we can never complain about the food here. The staff are amazing. They are the reason so many people come back here. There are so many for us to name personally but they do a fantastic job. They remember you from previous visits and they are genuine and friendly. Late check out. We do feel the management have become very greedy on this now. 110MAD per person per hour which is very expensive. In the old days they put aside a room for people leaving late to have a shower and change. This time around you are told to use the indoor pool where the showers are dirty and not very private, the changing rooms are like a sauna and no towels are provided. I did tell the chap at reception afterwards that I was not happy with this but he didn't care and just shrugged it off. Overall it could definitely do with some investment or a refurb but that’s only because we’ve seen how it was in the past. If it’s your first time, it still has the same charm and atmosphere we’ve known and loved for all these years.

I booked this hotel based on previous reviews, 4 star Rui Group & celebrating mine, my daughter 16th birthday and her GCSEs. Arrived late night, beautiful reception decor, staff attentive, lovely room space, clean, best pillows ever. Bit disappointed as told TUI rep when booked in store about our celebrations, nothing in room, no cake, wine, fruit... esp as I flew on my birthday. Cons: of hotel: beautiful well kept gardens, good gym, reception area and bar perfect. Staff pleasant, always helpful and smiling. Spacious room, great shower, separate toilet. This is my honest review based on a week and returned 1st July. Drinks are atrocious, weak, you can drink all day night not feel the slightest tipsy! Staff in pool bars esp 1 bar tender, rude, as we kept asking for soft drinks, its 45 degrees, hot, sweaty and they don't even fill ur glasses up! He Kept saying again, again, again! Abso made me angry. Wine warm, small tiny plastic glass filled half way. The shot measure is not even a 25ml. Watered down cocktails, terrible drinks overall. Sunbeds. Broken, lack of any... saw guests giving money to Staff for the towels to be put early morning! Not acceptable. 3 days i didn't have a bed, complained in reception not that they did anything! I just got 2 chairs together... Entertainment Team. Pleasant enough, not engaging with guests throught day, lack of activities and evenings... well what can I say.. not good at all. Please Hotel Manager, employ some external acts, put on good shows, the poor Entertainment staff are working all day, afternoon and then have to perform in the evening too! That's just not fair. Invest on evening entertainment for your guests! Pool area. Needs a FULL refurbishment, dirty, broken tiles, slippery surfaces, pool water sorry its not clean, pool attendant said too many people in it, when I said in evening its disgusting hope your cleaning overnight. He laughed & agreed with me. Food restaurants. Clean, nice staff. Food repetitive everyday! Not much choice, my daughter ate chips rice pizza all week! However she is 16. 3 times we went out to eat, 2 times got KFC & McDonald's as both time Al a Carte were terrible, they are just the same buffet food from the day. STOP misleading guests thinking they having fine dining! Its a buffet. On the plus side the Italian restaurant realised its our birthdays and we had a bottle of Processco and a Chocolate ice cream cake and sang to us which was lovely. Outside seating area no pads on the chairs, its boiling! Evening buffet okayish! Would i stay again NO, would i recommend NO. Sorry. Change to 3 star, definitely not a 4 star. If you want to retain guests and get good reviews, I suggest at your less busiest time, refurb all your pool area, new sunbeds, pads on chairs, replace the floor around pool area, train staff to make better drinks, use proper alcohol spirits as the ones you use are just water! No way your gin or vodka is 37%... Overall stay, ok. If it wasn' for the beautiful weather i would of have been miserable.

The staff truly make this place special. They're incredibly kind and welcoming, to adults and children as well-especially Aya/Ayra, who left a lasting impression. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the food was amazing, the maids were constantly cleaning, the swimming pool areas were very clean, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It's the perfect setting for a simple, restful holiday.

Cons: My experience was marred by a constant cockroach problem in my ground-floor bedroom. They were in my bed, my belongings my clothes. It became so unbearable that I had no choice but to check into a different accommodation for 1 night after this happened multiple nights in a row. Unfortunately, the hotel has been extremely difficult about refunding me for the night we had to leave. Aside from this serious issue, the hotel felt like a low 4-star experience overall. The lack of entertainment and activities for children made it a bit boring for families, and the evening entertainment was disappointing and, frankly, embarrassing.

It was my first time travelling on a proper holiday with my partner. We had a 7 night all inclusive stay at this resort and the whole experience was amazing. We had a ground floor, air-conditioned room with a terrace which faced some beautiful gardens and the pool not too far a walk. 3 different restaurants and several bars including 2 poolside bars with staff there ready to help you in any way possible. There were daily activities including water aerobics as well as a gym and a spa if you wished to use these. We made the most of the pool with ample sun beds and parasols, with some amazing members of staff. The room we had was clean, had everything wrong needed and the housekeeping service was exemplary. We aren't sure when we will be returning to Marrakech, but when we do, we will be using this hotel.

For an all inclusive I was not impressed at all. We needed an iron and was told we needed to provide a $20usd deposit to use it and we would have to walk to the reception area to collect it as they would not be able to have it delivered to the room. That was my first red flag! Also, for an all inclusive the food options are not much and what they do have is average. Staff were pleasant for the most part. The location is a bit out of the way. Opt for a Riad or a luxury hotel instead.

Cons: Manque de propretĂ© de la chambre et de la salle de bain. Nourriture vraiment bas de gamme. Rapport qualitĂ©/prix (la nuit est facturĂ©e Ă  plus de € 200) trĂšs faible.
