Reataurant in hotel only place easy enough to get to especially at night (going out, since no tuk tuks or taxis could come in all the way), and food average. I think the complication getting taxis is enough to not stay there again. Room looks authentic which i wanted, but felt a little worn and didnt feel the cleanest (hair in bathroom and rug?). Bed nice. Door has huge opening so all talking and noise is right there and kept me up. But door looked cool and authentic, which was good at least. Air con had hard time keeping cool with summer heat. Staff were nice and helpful. Overall good experience. Sometimes walking back to place alone i was harassed and that wasnt nice. Maybe normal i dont know. Maybe same in all areas. Close to market and shopping. Massage was good.

The Riad Karmela property immerses you in the enchanting atmosphere of old Morocco. However, I found its location to be somewhat inconvenient. It is situated in the heart of the Medina market, which can be overwhelming when trying to find transportation, as no cars can enter the area. The service and the hotel workers at the Riad were outstanding.

The staff were very hospitable and welcoming. The location was very convenient - walkable to most hot spots. Could’ve done with cleaner rooms, especially the bathroom inc towels, otherwise all good.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was so hospitable and lovely. Everyone was kind, helpful and competent. We had an issue with ants or some tiny bugs in our bathroom (also almost 40° C weather) and they made sure to take care of it and make sure we were comfortable. It is a beautiful, centrally located, very Instagram worthy Riad.

Amazing Riad in the heart of the Medina. Easy to find with Google Maps and no need for taxi or tuk tuk for the most part. The Riad makes you feel like you've escaped into your own private estate in Morocco.

We love this place. The service is amazing. Anything you ask is no problem. The food is great and this time as a treat we took the mini princesse the private apartment with its own roof terrace and three en-suite bedrooms and downstairs living area. We had a lovely stay at Riad Karmela. It is a beautiful Riad hidden away in the medina. The downstairs courtyards and roof terrace are excellent and so quiet compared to the street level chaos. The location was ideal for exploring the centre of Marrakech, with all key sites in walking distance. The breakfast was good, with plenty of choice and we had 2 evening meals, which were excellent. We used the hammam, which is small but good, the massage was very good. We booked the airport transport and we were glad we did, as we're not sure we would have found the Riad without doing so.

All good except taxi cannot go to Riad Karmela directly due to narrow roads in Medina. Meet a porter from the hotel at the meeting place to go to the hotel. He carried luggages in the cart to the hotel and asked us more tip. He followed us until he got more. Kept saying, " this is nothing." I used to give tips during 10 days of Morocco trip. Never happened. I was very annoyed and disappointed.

My wife and I booked a superior room in Riad Karmela through hotels.com. There are a number of riads, all next to each other, under the same ownership and where guests can move freely between them all. We received an upgrade to stay in room Bahia in Riad Petit Karmela. It was very serene and calm on the ground floor overlooking a beautiful sitting area which was heated during the evening. It transpires that, if you book directly with the riad, you receive a room upgrade and a one way free transfer from the airport. We reserved and benefited from the transfer and were met at the airport. The riad was ideal. Lovely room and facilities (including room safe) good hot shower, comfortable bed and plenty of space. One litre of free bottled water daily. Breakfasts were more than ample and served as continental style and we had 2 evening meals (pre-reseved). Cocktails were superb and both beer and wine were available at table. Joel (owner) has a superb team of staff and we were looked after well by Muhammed, Amine, Said & Fatima and others whose names are in my dimming recollection. Highly recommended and would be our choice of accommodation again. Thankyou.

What an Amazing Riad with Amazing Staff. We stayed here for 7 nights and all the staff were very friendly, genuine and helpful. Airport transfers were arranged through Riad Karmela and we could not believe the effort of both of our drivers...on arrival he had waited over 2 hours for us! The second driver to the airport manouvered through almost impossible alleyways for us. Thank You to you both. The rooms were so spacious and clean. Breakfast was a delight each day and the staff were always attentive. The relaxation areas including the terrace were decorated to traditional standards, with beautiful furniture, paintings, photographs and Moroccan artefacts. The restaurant was almost full each night we stayed and highly recommended. The guitarist was also a pleasure to listen to on evenings. Thank You to all at Riad Karmela!

A collection of 3 Riads hidden down an alley just seconds from the madness of the medina. Lots places to relax inside on the patios and different areas on the roof terraces. Friendly helpful staff, who speak English, French as well as Arabic. Arranged airport transfers with Riad, though they forgot to collect us on arrival, so we had to ask a local to ring the Riad for us (so either double, double check or take the phone number and use data roaming!). Could arrange your own transfers, but difficult to find first time in the dark on your own, even with google (and if you can get internet). Very good breakfast, and dinner (we ate there twice in the evening, delicious spring chicken with vermicelli). Take some Euros, Riad will change and take back any unused dirhams- until you can access a bank. It was our first time in Marrakech and we thoroughly enjoyed the different culture. The only downside? the horrendous queues at the airport, both in and out (we got there 3 hours before our flight back home to be safe),shame really as I would like to explore more of the country.

We stayed at the Riad for three nights with my two year old. The staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us- we were made to feel very welcome and felt at home. The transfer from the airport was easy and quick and the driver munir was very friendly and helpful. All reception staff were great and always happy to help, my son was made to feel welcome and staff were great with him! The breakfast was nice and varied. We stayed in the suite with private terrace and enjoyed our stay throughly and would book again without a doubt. The Riad is nestled in the old town so taxis are hard to get you may need to walk a little to get one however tuk tuks are readily available and can be arranged via reception. Good value for money and the riad it self is decorated nicely and very spacious.

Service/Facilities were not on par with the daily room rate charged - low in terms of value. Staff were available for help, but were cold and at times rude. My family and I did not feel comfortable with the interactions (and we visited 8 cities and hotels- mostly Riads/Dars during our 2 week trip to Morocco) Breakfast was a disappointment. Slim pickings and did not feel they were freshly prepared. Omlettes ordered took 20 mins. to deliver. No smile on faces of staff. AC was barely able to keep up with the Marrakesh Aug heat, was comfortable at nights but was uncomfortable to stay in the room during afternoons, even with AC on. Location is deep inside the old city, and a minimum walk time of 15 mins needed to access cars. The property charges for handcarts to bring/dispatch bags to locations accessible by cars. On the other hand, the location is walkable from/to places of interest in the medina. Property may not be right nor families, as staff was intolerant to noises created by/due to children in just the one instance it happened (compared to experience in 7 others Roads/Dars/hotels)

We only stayed for one night and besides the harassment we encountered by some young men not related to the riad as we walked from the parking lot, the riad offered some peace and tranquility. If you come with a car be aware of the fact that there is no parking on site, you will have to park your car and walk inside the medina to get to the riad. The parking attendants are a bunch of young men who will tell you that GPS does not work in the medina, they will start walking to escort you to the riad even if you don't request this, only to demand you tip them at the end. They are very aggressive and it's almost impossible to shake them off. Needless to say if you don't tip them the amount that they think is reasonable they will harass you and cause undue stress. Once you enter the riad though it's pretty serene and our room was very quiet despite being on the ground floor. The riad has a restaurant on the rooftop where you could have lunch/dinner and it's the same place where breakfast is served. Don't waste your time eating here for lunch/dinner, the food was mediocre at best. Breakfast was ok, buffet style, nothing special.

The space is charming as a collection of homes turned into two neighboring properties, hidden way in the middle of the busy market of old town. It’s great as you can walk a few minutes to many of the tourist sites (Madrassa Ben Youseff, Secret Garden, etc). The staff will also arrange any trips, taxis or other outings you might want. But the real highlight is the hospitality—I arrived with two sprained ankles after tripping in Tangier. After the welcome tea and cookies shared with all guests, Amine additionally brought me a bag of ice and two ointments for my legs. He also got us set for dinner on the premises so I didn’t need to go out (something we had originally declined). This was just day one—from there Amine and Omar did everything they could to help us enjoy our stay despite my injury. I can’t thank them all enough! I will absolutely recommend to anyone traveling to Marrakech—it is invaluable to stay with kind, caring people when traveling abroad and running into difficult challenges

This traditional Morrocan hotel was extremely comfortable and the staff was welcoming and helpful at every turn…once one gets there. The Riad well positioned in the Medina and is beautifully decorated in the traditional Moroccan style. The bedroom, the buffet breakfast and lunch/dinner dining options were very good. Los tranfer con ellos y las excursiones tienen muchas. Los choferes te recojen personalmente en la entrada . Claro hay que caminar un poco yaque los autos no pueden llegar posus calles muy estrechas. I would consider it a nice 3 star Riad (not 4 star). The Riad itself is very nice and the staff is kind (tip them well). The dinners are pretty reasonable and wifi works well. The Rias is also quite peqceful. The major issue with the Riad is location. Property is close to some mosques so morning prayers are very loud and a good night's sleep was difficult even with earplugs. The property is north of the square but we ended up walking south of the square most days. Taxis are a 10 minute hike through the Medina (dodging motorbikes and tuk tuks and touts and people). We've had a taxi refuse to take us to the drop off square and another who couldn't find it. We finally discovered that having the Riad schedule a tuk tuk was the way to make things more convenient.

Excellent hotel with very professional staff. Contact them for transportation and tours. They have excursions and hammam spa services on property. We were greeted with tea and a complete run down of the medina by Amin who was incredibly professional. They provided a map and were always available for questions. It is recommended not to walk around too late in the area as there are young kids that stay out after hours. Our tour around the medina was excellent and the breakfast was the best we had in all of Morocco. We will be back!

The hotel sent a driver to pick us up at the airport. This is not free but the service was good and the driver was friendly. He drove us to a parking area about 300 meters from the hotel and then walked us the rest of the way. Upon arrival the staff greeted us and gave us some tea and helped us with a map of the area. The room itself was nice. One double bed and two single beds. There was an air conditioning unit in each room that worked well. Beds were good The breakfast consists of coffee, juice, cheese, fruit, meat, cheese, breads and you can request eggs. Dinner needs to be requested in the morning but was pretty good. We had a chicken dish one evening and beef another evening. The staff was helpful in terms of communication with our tour services. There are two watch outs with this hotel. First, the hot water is inconsistent both in temperature and pressure. Second, the location is tricky to find through the maze of the old city. It’s important to have a phone with GPS to find your way back.

Kind owners, amazing staff, clean property. Comfortable rooms, tasty food and they do organize group tours with an outside company.if you would like to join one. If you are coming from the airport they will send someone to pick you up or if you are coming by taxi you will need to have the driver to get directions as it is hard and difficult to get to. It it’s in the middle of the old city. I would recommend it again. I am sure I will be back again. Thank you for making my trip amazing!

I had a terrific 3 day stay in this beautiful, unique Riad in the heart of iconic Marrakech. The staff are terrific and the service is outstanding. They searched for a Lab to do my COVID test 24 hours before I flew back to the US. It was a public holiday and most lans were closed, they found me one that opened for 2 hours, made my reservation, got me a cab and even paid for the cab, you can't ask for more. The rooms are great, the breakfast is terrific, and the dinning is home made. Lovely place to soak the Marrakesh true atmosphere, right in the heart of the old town (Medena). I highly recommend it.

The staff at Riad Karmela made our stay very special, comfortable abs so much fun. We had the best of times in Marrakesh and that’s largely because of our stay there. We were looked after, excursions, drivers, delicious meals, hammam all arranged by the team. We could not recommend it more highly and will return there with the first opportunity. Clean, beautiful, homely, magical and in a great location close to all major attractions. For a true feel of Marrakesh this is the best Riad. Ioannis and Kevin

A wonderful Riad with beautiful decoration with plenty of privacy and places to relax in comfort. The staff were amazing and could not do enough to make our stay one to remember. Food in the restaurant was first class at very reasonable cost. All in all we would not hesitate to return again.

Riad Karmela is in a great location, only 10 mins walk to the Spice Market & souks & about 15 mins to the main square. We only booked a standard room but this was spacious, clean & quiet. The Riad itself is a haven of calm after the madness of the souks & the roof terrace is a lovely place to chill out after a day exploring the city.

The Road Karmela was quite, quaint and pleasant. The staff was amazing, food lovely and location perfect for our Old City needs. The bed was a bit old and uncomfortable and the floor rug quite dirty. As a result, our room wasn't great.

The staff at the Riad is fantastic. We could not have a better experience or stay. The staff is kind, knowledgeable, hospitable, and always willing to help. Breakfast was delicious and included in the price. The restaurant was really good as well and a perfect option for Morrocan food if you do not want to go out. Delicious!!!

Excellent hotel, and the atmosphere was really quiet and romantic, staff were really helpful location is really nice, and close to the market and in the heart of the city. Only negatives about the location is that no parking close by, and the city is full of motorcycles and air is very polluted by exhaust smoke

I am so glad we stayed at Riad Karmela. Everything was so fantastic for my wife and I and our 18 year old son. From the time we arrived, one of the friendly staff fluent in 3 languages poured us the traditional mint tea with a few biscuits and ran through the Riads amenities and went through a folder with various tours we can go on and gave us a map outlining the main attractions of Marrakech. We ate at the riad every night Of our 4 night stay as we have read a few bad reviews from buying from the souks as meat is left out, non refrigerated all day ect. The meals were all delicious and the deserts to die for. If you don’t eat there see if you can try the ice cream. Mouthwatering!! The terraces on top of the riad are quiet and relaxing. After a days sightseeing and after dinner we would sit on the terrace and relax. The sunsets can’t be put into words. The bar is very reasonably priced. 3or 4€ a can. The tables for dinner and breakfast are spread out on the ground floor around a large water feature and you sit amongst 4 large orange trees full of fruit this time of year(dec) The breakfasts are smorgasbord and are my sons favourite part of day. The staff remember if you have tea or brewed coffee after first morning and automatically appears the next morning. I know it sounds a bit “corny” but we have since stayed in a riad in Fez and really wish we could take riad Karmela and it’s staff with us.

Riad Karmela was beautiful and a great place to stay in Marrakesh. It is a luxury Riad - very spacious with several adjacent locations for room selection. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful providing us information on how to navigate around the Medina including a map and suggested site to visit. Breakfast buffet was very good with many options. They arranged our transport to the airport at 3:30 am with no problem! It was a lovely way to end our travels in Morocco. I would highly recommend Riad Karmela and would choose to stay there again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful and my room was quite large. There are a number of quiet, lovely lounge spaces to relax in after venturing out into the city. It is in the middle of the Medina, so not easy to find initially. I recommend using the taxi service arranged by the Riad Karmela for your arrival.

Fantastic location right in the middle of the old medina. An oasis in the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. The staff are so helpful and kind. Our room was really funky. We actually stayed in Riad Karmela Princess which is owned by Riad Karmela. It is very difficult to find so worth getting the Riad to organise taxi transport from the airport.

We stayed at riad karmela from the 19th August to the 24th August 2019. Our stay was absolutely amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful and caring. We had dinner on the first night at the riad and our waiter amin was very welcoming. Every time he would see us thereafter he would ask if we were alright and if we needed anything. We also booked the ourika valley excursion and quad biking excursion through the riad and they were both amazing. Highly recommend the ourika valley excursion, it’s a must see. The rooms were wonderful and spacious, the air conditioning worker perfectly. The little garden at the bottom is so beautiful and a lovely place to wind down when coming back from the hustle and bustle of the souks. The riad is situated about 5 mins from the souks and about 10 mins away from Jema El Fena. Also, when getting a cab back from the riad, ask them to take you to Ben salah which is the square nearer to the riad and only takes 6 mins walking to get back to the riad. Overall it was an amazing stay and will definitely be coming back to stay at riad karmela.

This Riad is a little oasis of tranquility and calm in the middle of the craziness of the city. The traditional decor and layout was a real treat to experience. It is in an excellent position for exploring the Médina and all it has to offer as well as serving some delicious traditional Moroccan food. The staff were extremely helpful and polite at all times from bringing drinks and nibbles on the roof terrace to organising day trips out for the family. Thoroughly recommend and hope to return in the future.

Riad Karmela is a wonderful place. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with a traveler needs. The rooms are air condition and bathrooms have sufficient hot water. They also provide an affordable laundry service. The staff is professional and willing to help at any minutes of the day. The Wi-Fi is strong. They have dinner services at a reasonable price and good quality food. The Riad is located in the heart of the Old Medina. If they have an available spot on Princess Karmela (an upscale facility) they would upgrade you without an additional charge. Which they did for my friend, who was traveling at the same time I was travelling in Morocco. I appreciated Khalid who works as a waiter. I lost my cellphone in Casablanca and someone found it and hand it to their hotel in Casablanca. Khalid helped me to contact my friends who were contacted about my cel. He also contacted the hotel and told them to hold my phone till I come to get it. Overall all this chain of Riads is well managed and the staff members are professional and organized. They would help anyway they can. I would highly recommend this facility for any traveler.

property is pretty and clean. Room very spacious. Service is great. We stayed at Riad Karmela Princesa for the first two nights and booked Riad Karmela (sister property) for the third night. Staff was very generous with letting us stay in the two rooms at Karmela Princesa (these rooms are more expensive by quite a bit than the ones in Karmela) for free.
