Just returned home from a 5 night stay here. I booked this based on two things, the location and the reviews on Trip Advisor. I wanted to experience life in the heart of the Medina to soak up the atmosphere. I did not want a 40 minute taxi ride from a 5 star modern hotel on the outskirts. From here you could easily walk to the square, souks and restaurants. You cannot get cars into the middle but we easily arranged a meeting point to catch tourist buses for trips. The Riad has a fascinating history and charm. The staff were very welcoming, nothing too much trouble. It is so quiet there. You can’t hear the hustle and bustle in the nearby streets at all. It is very clean, towels replaced, room cleaned unless you didn’t want it to be. There was a plentiful breakfast to set you up for the day. Of course this review would not be complete without mentioning the manager, Ousamma. He really is nice guy who will help you with anything. It was nice to put a face to the name I had read so much about. So if you want a more authentic experience I would highly recommend this hotel.

I have just returned from a fantastic trip with my wife and son from Marrakesh. What made it special was staying at Riad Dar Banour. We had the pleasure of meeting the English speaking manager Osama. From the minute we walked in everything we asked for was immediately sorted. Osama is the star of the show and probably the nicest man in Morocco. Through Osama we were introduced to Mohammed Kiwi( Kiwi tours) who arranged the most amazing excursions which included a hot air balloon ride and trip to Ourlika valley! Can’t wait to return in the new year! Thank you Osama and Mohammed Kiwi for making our holiday perfect.

Just returned from a wonderful holiday here with friends. I contacted the rhiad in advance and Osama made sure our airport transfer went smoothly as it would have been tricky to find otherwise. Great location and a wonderful authentic experience. Osama went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, including making sure we had what we needed when I took ill on our last night, very grateful to him. The rhiad is a calm oasis after the hustle and bustle of daily life in the medina. Would highly recommend staying here.

Had a wonderful holiday in Morocco and we could not have had such a wonderful experience without the help of Osama. He organised everything for us from Airport pickup and helped us with our trips to Aqadir, Casablanca, Altas mountains, the desert and local tours. Thanks also to Mohamed who took care of meeting us at the taxi drop off point in the Medina. This hotel is very lucky to have such helpful and loyal employees who really know customer service. Thanks again Osama, Mohamed and our taxi man for all to help and kindness to ensure we had a wonderful time in your beautiful country Your Irish friends Marian & gang🙏

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Dar Bounouar and were so glad that we chose this riad. Christian (French speaking owner) was incredibly welcoming to us and my children, it felt like we were staying with family. Oussama (English and Arabic speaking manager) was so helpful too and kindly coordinated anything we required in the riad or outside. Our room was very kindly upgraded to a suite, and we loved the authentic decor with modern bathroom facilities (although the room did not have a tv, fridge, kettle or safe). In the late August heat, it was a little too hot to sleep on the upper level so after the first night we all relocated to the lower floor and could feel the benefit of the air conditioning better too. Everyday we were spoilt by a lovely lady that kindly provided the most plentiful breakfast. This was best way to start the day, in the calm of the riad and in the shade of a banana tree, before starting a busy day of sightseeing or shopping! One of the highlights of our trip recommended by Christian and organised by Oussama was a day trip to a Berber village and Ourika waterfalls with Muhammad. The guide we had for the waterfall was particularly amazing to help us navigate the rocky parts and lead the way with my daughter. Although lunch in Ourika was included, in hindsight we should have saved our appetite for the restaurants near the riad instead. We look forward to coming back to your riad to explore more of the wonders of Marrakesh, as we unfortunately out of time! Thanks again for having us!

An amazing stay with friendly and helpful staff! The hotel itself is a little hard to find but the hotel offer many helping hands the days before arrival making it easier to navigate. We had a problem with our air con which the hotel owner made sure was sorted asap which was very helpful due to the heat in September. If you are ever too hot the pool solves all problems and is extremely refreshing. Had the bestest time here thank you to everyone at the Riad Dar Bounouar!

Oussama and his team were excellent and made us feel at home. They also helped with taxis when EasyJet let us down with transfer back to the airport - which was invaluable. Beds were comfortable and room had air con. Breakfast was tasty. Whole place was relaxed and peaceful. Pool was cold, but required in 40 degrees! Although a little hard to find first time, once you’re there, location is great and perfect to explore the Medina on foot. Altogether a lovely experience.

A very friendly Riad with staff always available to help and answer questions. The swimming pool is refreshing and provides much-needed relief after walking on hot days. Breakfast is plentiful and amazing, offering a wide variety of breads, fruits, jams, juices, and more. Whenever we had any issues, the staff were quick to attend to them. For example, when we had problems with our airport transfer, they went out of their way to help us. The markets and souks are only a few minutes’ walk away, and the Riad is also very close to many attractions and restaurants.

We have just come back from a stay at the Riad Dar Bounouar. This guesthouse is defintely 5 stars. The staff are amazing - there is nothing that is too much trouble. Mohammed always got us to our detination, brought drinks without asking Osama (sorry if I have spelt it wrong) the manager was absoutley fantastic - met us with a morrocan mint tea and we were upgraded to a suite on our arrival, and the room was ready as soon as we arrived. It was amazing - very clean and spacious. Osama gave us his number in case we needed him whilst expolring Marrakesh. Honestly you are treated like royalty. We fell in love with Marrakesh because of the Riad Dar Bounouar, and the staff (Christian - this is a credit to you) I highly reccomend a stay here. Riad Dar Bounoubar we will be back. Riad Dar Bounouar was an incredible place to stay. I took a large group of students on a school trip to Marrakech and we stayed the whole time at this Riad. It was spacious, comfortable and accommodated all of our various activities. The food every morning was delectable, and we had one of our best dinners here as well. Oussama was our main point of contact on the ground and he was welcoming, kind and incredibly helpful. He supported us in so many ways during this trip and I am so grateful that we were able to stay here and connect with this team. Thank you!

I had a pleasant stay at Riad Dar Bounouar. The place was clean and well-maintained, and the staff, especially the maid, was friendly and efficient. However, one major issue affected my experience: noise. In the mornings, the sound from the kitchen, which was close to my room, was quite disruptive. Additionally, on the day of my arrival, there was a birthday celebration for one of the employees, with loud music and voices that made it difficult to rest. After a long journey, I was hoping for a quiet night, but unfortunately, the noise prevented me from sleeping early. Overall, the riad has good service and cleanliness, but noise management could be improved for a more relaxing stay.

Location- was great, as you experienced the old medina while going to the main square. But make sure you make a note of your orientation as one can get lost. Service- was impeccable. The staff were soooo kind and sweet. They tried to support you with every need. The hamam and massage was lush. Atmosphere- was very peaceful. Surprising as we were in such a busy city, it was quiet and fresh. I loved the pool, and the roof terrace was good. Very spacious riad. Cleanliness- was excellent. My room was cleaned to a top standard daily. Amenities- the pool was clean and fresh. The Wi-Fi worked better downstairs than the roof-top. If you wanted an evening meal you had to pre-book in the morning. Breakfast was standard fresh omelets, juice and tea. I loved the riad!

This is a lovely Riad in a great location. There is a pretty terrace and courtyards. The staff are courteous and helpful. We recommend asking them to book airport transfers. Lovely resteraunts nearby are Le Foundouk and La Slimana. We thought the place needed some updating, the cushions on the sun terrace need replacing and we only had one socket in our room that worked. Even though it's in the old city, it was very peaceful and we slept well.

We loved our stay in this character- full Riad. It was just beautiful to open our door onto one of the enclosed courtyards, green with plants and full of the sounds of birds singing. We wanted to have breakfast in the Road and were so glad we did. The unleavened breads and jam were gorgeous. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a very friendly tortoise which came to say hello. It’s so worth getting Osama at the Riad to arrange the transfers. There was no stress. We will be back. Hopefully very soon.

We were reallocated to this Riad by our holiday provider due to issues with our initial accommodation, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The manager was an outstanding host, incredibly helpful, and dedicated to ensuring we were happy throughout our stay. The Riad is clean and well-maintained, with a fantastic location. We highly recommend it! Thank you once again for making our trip so enjoyable!

We had such a great stay here. The riad was lovely, particularly the sunny roof terrace. But the best part was the amazing staff who work there, they couldn’t do enough for us. Everything we asked, they did their best to help. On the first night we got lost coming back and Osama even walked to meet us and show us back. We booked the transfers through the riad and that is definitely worth doing, Ismail met us from the taxi and showed us to the riad. My friend has a severe nut allergy and they were so accommodating, helping her to prepare food she could eat. They would give us bottles of water whenever we asked. We couldn’t fault their service and attentiveness, they really did go out of their way on many occasions throughout our stay.

Oussama is the most awesome person in town! He’s very friendly and made our whole experience in Marrakech, he was able to provide us tips and make sure that my little family was having our best! The room was super specious and beautiful, the place is close to walking distance from everything. The breakfast was nice, in this place you had the feeling that you are visiting some family, it really give you that vibe.

Ossamma and the other staff were excellent. Place is quiet ( not noisy) since it is not a main street so it is good for sleeping. A little hard to find but organized transportation with the hotel ahead of time. To be clear, not all rooms have AC which was fine when i was there because it was cool at night. Note that the place is not a 4 star hotel by north american or european standards even some of the ratings show it as a 4 star. However, beautiful place with great courtyards and a rooftop patio. Good value for the price.

The riad is located in the Medina, close to some of the best restaurants in the area. The place is really pleasant and clean, the room is spacious and the breakfast is good. Above all, what most marked our stay was the relationship with the staff, for their cordiality, friendliness and professionalism. In this sense, I would like to highlight the work of Oussama, who was always willing to help demonstrating a good will beyond what was expected to carry out his duties. He is involved with everything, and we had a remarkable experience thanks to him. As mentioned in the previous statement, he is the Riad and the Riad is him! We hope to return soon!

A little hard to get to, but this is true of most Riads in the Medina. Very good accommodations, quiet, clean, and great service. A special thank you to Oussamma. He IS the Riad and the Riad is he. There was nothing he could not arrange for us - tours, pick-ups, transfers, etc.

Airport transfer went pretty well. Loved Osama (sp?) who was our contact - seems like he's a manager. Online pictures are way nicer than the reality. Our room was dark, dreary, worn, dusty and not super clean. When taking a shower water splashed all over the floor - needed a shower door/curtain. Small uncomfortable (hard) bed. Floors, rugs, blankets, decorative pillows, etc. felt/looked/smelled dirty. Riad was an interesting building but felt very worn - stained cushions on chairs, weeds, stained blankets covering sofas, etc. Upstairs rooftop area is dusty and vacant, checked it out and never went back up there. Breakfast was nothing like the pictures, very limited. But it was Ramadan and the price was only 500 MAD, so maybe that's the reason?

Othman who worked there was great as Marrakech is an extremely difficult place to navigate. Book this place if you're ok with an adventure and potentially getting lost. The place itself is very nice and if Othman is still working there when you stay it is worth it as he is so helpful. Research lots before you head to Marrakech it can be quite daunting at times but we really enjoyed it.

The room was smaller and with no city views than it said in the booking confirmation. The check in time was very slow. The most unbelievable thing is that they said they would accept CASH payment only because they do not have a credit card machine. But this ‘cash’ only thing was neither mentioned in the website nor in booking confirmation. Would definitely not recommend this riad to others.

This Riad surprisingly quiet once you step inside, and there is a very nice terrace. The hotel managers went above and beyond to be helpful. it is extremely difficult to find the first couple times so I would recommend arranging a pick up the first time or late at night. My only criticism is that you're required to pay in cash, which I found inconvenient when there are many other options that allow you to pay online.
