Worst Hotel ever. Hours of delayed check in. No cleanliness. Staff that completely ignore you. No towels provided and had to ask every single day at least 6 times to get a towel. Would normally arrive at least a few hours after request but would disappear again the next day. It is a very outdated and horrible hotel. Dirty swimming pool. Lack of deck chairs. Awful breakfast with hardly any selection or choice.

The only good thing over there the pool , beside that it’s terrible in terms of the cleanliness and service. The ac was making noise I couldn’t sleep not working efficiently. The mattress box was broken , pillows uncomfortable. Breakfast has only one kind of cheese and beef salami and even not enough , fruit& vegetables wasn’t fresh. Service in general was so bad . I don’t recommend this place to anybody.

The rooms need a little TLC and some redecoration but overall I was very happy with my stay at this hotel. All the staff from cleaners to front of house were very friendly and welcoming and there is a typically Moroccan feel to the decor. The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable. The wifi worked well this time and there was always plenty of hot water. Overall great value for money.

The hotel was clearly a very traditional beautiful Moroccan hotel with authentic interior and exterior in public spaces... once upon a time. Check in was a slow process although the hotel was not fully booked. This is strange as we arrived in the evening (approx 6pm) so would have thought they’d have plenty of time to prep the room. The whole check in process was stalled for over an hour and a half before we were taken to a room a long way from everyone else. Issues with the room were plenty: Extremely lumpy pillows that could not be slept on No balcony furniture (an office chair had been put there) Lamps not working Rail in wardrobe not attached so nothing could be hung up Telephone not working Tv not working Fridge not working Safe not working Toilet water ran for 2 days straight without being fixed No WiFi in room although this was stated when booked Towels for the pool are extremely poor, looks like large towels torn into two or three Sun beds falling apart and plenty of holes Nothing at breakfast worked - you were lucky if you got the coffee you ordered from the machine Staff were rude and slow service - only one or two members of staff were lovely and remembered to do things you asked Before anyone comments, yes we spoke to reception about our issues. Only the WiFi in the room was fixed. We were left with nothing else working for the full week.

This is a very straightforward hotel that gets the job done. The room was clean and the staff friendly and helpful (not all of them were fluent in English and it wasn't a huge barrier). The location is also fairly lucrative since it's only ~45m walk from the Medina but far enough away that close-by restaurants will have local prices (and not the 3x bloated Medina prices). You're also only ~15m walk from Gueliz and it's shopping center. Everything's even closer if you decide to take a cab. The hotel, however, is quite old and in need of renovation. The carpet is quite worn and stained from use (but not dirty), the AC units vibrate and generate additional noise and the doors to the balcony don't close tightly anymore. Nothing that's a deal breaker (unless you're looking for a resort) but definitely noticeable. I recommend staying here if you don't need anything fancy and want to save some cash.

There was nothing to like about. I paid a decent amount for my stay but not worth a single penny. They scam you and mislead customers when advertising. More then half of their services don’t even exist or are in no use. Carpets are filthy and old, stains on walls, no kettle in the rooms, hardly any lights work or exist so be prepared to walk in the dark and breakfast is below standard.

I was offered twin rooms with single beds when I had booked and paid for double rooms with queen size beds. Staff told me they had the correct reservation but changed the correct rooms when argued my case when I showed them print out of my reservation. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Breakfast facilities were poor, not enough choices available. Rooms were filthy.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Le Tichka, hotel was perfect for what we were looking for, a relaxing sunshine holiday at the back end of the year. We found a lot of restaurants within a short walk which varied in price and type of food from local to international. The hotel is also within a short, cheap taxi ride from all local attractions and there is a taxi rank right outside. The hotel is on the lower end of the price scale so don't expect a five star experience but the staff were friendly and helpful especially at check in and the hotel is clean and tidy. Definitely one we will return too the next time we are looking for some sunshine without costing the earth.

Facts: 1. As soon as we entered the hotel and went on counter - small cockroach on the desk! 2. After waiting near reception for 20 mins for room to get ready for us, while walking towards the room, a repair went inside to repair something so had to wait outside the room for 10 mins. 3. Dirty floor carpet. 4. We joined two single beds so had two blankets, next day after cleaning, one was missing for 2 days (even requested - they said our hotel is full that's why). Few days later, then from two towels in bathroom, one was missing for 2 days as well. Requested extra pillow, never came. 5. Broken drawer. 6. Wifi was hardly working and if it did then was slow. 7. TV hardly had good connection so none of the channels were clear. 8. In bathroom, the shower spray was like pointing in every directions (if I m showering my head, some water will splash over the head, on each side of the shoulders. 9. Breakfast... same everyday for 7 days!!!

This was my 5th stay at this hotel in the past couple of years. As usual the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a lot of character - I really like the design and the decor, even thought the paint needs touching up and the carpet replacing here and there. The breakfasts were typically Moroccan - not too much choice but plenty to eat. The useful Nbr 1 bus provides cheap and reliable transport to the Medina every 10 minutes or so. I look forward to my next stay at the Tichka..

No indervidual towels on arrival. Had to ask for replenishment of new towels. Sink would jam which caused a build up of water that would not flow down the drain, very annoying. The hotel directed us to the hotel across the road for spa facilities because the was an issue with the availability of their own spa facilities. Hotel tax not explained on arrival so was demanded on departure. Mini bar was empty. AC was noisey and now as effective as would be accepted, however made the heat bearable, but not cool. Water once came out the taps brown. The hotel I would say is a 2/3 star, not a 4 star.

The hotel decor was absolutely beautiful; traditional Morrocan, just what we were looking for! There were however, both pros and cons to our stay. Firstly, hotel staff did not speak much English, so communicating was a little hard as we didnt speak french or arabic. However you could tell that staff were trying their best to give us great service despite the language barrier which was lovely. Decor in rooms were stunning, however it was a little dirty in places. Eg fridge was dirty, bath tub tiles cracked etc. This didnt effect our stay so much, but wouldve been nice to see mended. Also, the swimming pool had cold water so we couldnt swim during our stay. Breakfast was delicious, but it would have been nice to have a variety of hot food too. Lastly, there was no ironing facilities, only drycleaning, so i ended up having to buy an iron! Despite the cons, the scenary was beautiful, and very well maintained. The hotel was situated in a great location, not far from local eateries and shops which was great. I would definitely stay there again, but will prepare a little better beforehand eg taking an iron, plug adaptor etc. On the whole, 4/5 👍

Generally good. Only a couple disadvantages are abit far from square ( walking about 45mins - if free shuttle or bus provided will be great - would love to go back to stay ), and also if more hot food supplied for breakfast options eg cooked tomatos, fried egg etc We appreciated the hotel is very willing to help with leaving luggage as we leave flight late on the day and they didn't charge us. Good rate for last minute money exchange is very impressed. Overall impression is good and people are pretty friendly especially one of the breakfast waiter always put on a smile to my son and he even wrote in Arabic of his name and he took home with some fond memory thank you for being so kind and considerate.

Read a lot of reviews which turned out to be mostly true. Staff were helpful and friendly , room was tidied every day , towels , soaps etc topped up daily. However the room safe was broken along with the door chain and the fridge needed to be cleaned. Overall the room and the hotel needs a major refurbishment top to bottom eg flaking and dirty paint on walls, threadbare carpets , botched grouting in bathroom and toilet. The hotels location was good if you don't want the noise and pollution of Guilez or the medina. It is possible to walk to Guilez around 20min or catch the number one bus outside the hotel for 4D which was handy. For the more adventurous a walk to the Jamal el Fna is possible at around 45min. For the money paid for the room which had a queen size bed , balcony etc it was great value for money. I would certainly stay here again next time Im in Marrakesh. If you don't have high expectations you wont be disappointed.

The hotel is nearby the popular places to visit and theres was always taxis on standby. However, staff was a bit slow, checking in. Some did not speak English which made it harder to communicate. The cleaners didnt always clean out the rubbish bin in our room or replace the toilet roll. Room is quite warm because of the heat, aircon is not that strong either, but opening the window doors made it cooler. You have to pay a daily tax when you check out. Hotel breakfast buffet is good. Dinner is just ok but expensive compared to the local cafe/ restaurant which the food was really nice. There was a leak of water in our room but we was able to change rooms. You can book excursions there for a discount price. Overall good trip, worth staying at hotel for cheap price.

I have stayed at this property many times and was happy. until now. The place needs a major spruce up. Paint is chipped, the fridge wasn't clean, carpets have seen better days. The bench at the desk weighed about 75 lbs was hard to move it. Pool could have been cleaner. Dinner was terrible. Breakfast all canned, including a coffee machine "push button for cappuccino." UGH.

Issues began as soon as we checked in. We payed extra money for the pool view room with the large patio, and upon entry into our room we were highly disappionted. The room was dirty and extremely hot. The carpets had stains all over and the walls had spills and dirt. Our "pool-view" was a view of a dirty pool. The balcony had chipping paint all over and was in need of repair. The cable never worked during our vacation. I brought the issue to the attention of the hotel staff and I was told "we are working on it, give the cable two hours to be fixed" ... Five days later... NOTHING. The wifi only worked the last two days of our vacation. The overall experience was TERRIBLE. BAD SERVICE. RUDE STAFF. Each issue we encountered we told the staff, and we were given the same response "we will fix it" and they never fixed any issue. At check-in, we asked for change for a 100 dirham bill and were given change of two 50 dirham bills. We were forced to tip the concierge 50 dirhams for doing nothing. He waited for his tip and made the experience very awkward. The hotel has posted outside a picture of no food and drinks, but they keep the mini-fridge in the room complete empty. They expect their guest to not bring food and drinks but do not offer anything.

They saying that this is a 4 stars hotel. They cannot be more wrong. The AC is old and the cooling capacity is almost cero. They transfered me to three different rooms all same result. All three bathroom showed 25% or more mold on the walls. There was dust every where also. I can keep talking about how unclean this hotel is but I am sure if you are an American you have realized that this is an 1.5 to 2 star hotel. Weather was unfortunately bad which did not help. No choice with the food as you had to have a set menu, so we ate in the hotel opposite. Breakfast was nice. Bathroom was grim but the room was nice. I've just returned from 3 nights at this hotel with my boyfriend. The hotel staff were so so lovely and helpful- was very impressed! The hotel itself was really unique in it's design- very lovely architecture. The bed was huge and we had a lovely view from the balcony! Although too cold for us to use the pool it was kept in inpeccable condition. The hotel was only around £3 taxi ride from the main square and we walked to the Yves St Laurent Garden in around 20 -30 mins- very nice location. Building work going on next door but barely noticed it at all!

A pleasant and relaxed stay. Several long trips out by taxi, which required some financial negotiations. Day trip to Atlas mountains included an unknown non-optional expensive midday meal. Trips also included unnecessary stops at carpet shops, etc. Quite often had to deal with traders who would appear from nowhere. Marakech "old Town" is so huge we got lost there and had to use a taxi to find our way out back out to the hotel. Huge thunderstorm on arrival had shut the airport for about 30 minutes. After that weather was fine, sunny and very pleasant for the rest of the stay. Although the April temperature was about 30degrees, the humidity was so low that this temperature was very pleasant.

Let's start at the beginning, it isn't a bad hotel, but it started badly. Upon arrival you're greeted by some doormen who will take care of your bags, but insist on you paying them before they leave your room. At check-in we weren't welcomed and weren't told about mealtimes, we also weren't told where everything was in the hotel. There is some noise from the other hotels. The food was good quality, but there wasn't much choice (reduced from last year). There's the typical pasta, potatoes, rice, meat etc as well as salad, soup and a choice of two small desserts. Breakfast is good and pancakes are made freshly in front of you. The drinks system seemed odd, they take down notes, and you sign at the desk in the restaurant and pay at the end of your stay. Don't forget you have to pay at the end, and also the tourist taxes (more expensive than is advertised on this site). We booked a double room and were given a twin, and asked to move rooms, which we did the next day. There are satellite channels but there is poor reception on both sides of the hotel, French and Arabic aplenty. On Friday we were treated to a Moroccan night with traditional music and dancing. Most nights there is someone singing, which is nice for the ambience. The hotel is about a 30 min walk (5 mins taxi) from the train station. Taxis wait outside the hotel during the day. You get the fare cheaper if you walk out to the main road. The hotel overall is very good, just a bit lacking for a 4 star.

Good except aircon is deficient. Would avoid hotel in hot weather. Had to open balcony door to cool off over nite.

Staff at hotel are very mixed, with some incredibly helpful and some not so. English speakers are very limited in this hotel so it is difficult to communicate requests especially at night. Worst part of my experience was the air conditioner not working for 3 nights in a row and upon departure the hotel manager telling us nothing we can do. Not even a compensation, I paid the full amount without any sort of compensation. The hotel itself is not very clean, it is very dated and does not have basic facilities. Towels are a huge problem, the hotel staff simply do not have enough towels. Not to mention breakfast was an absolutely disappointment - no real variety with boiled and scrambled eggs on offer daily which frankly smelled funny. I would definitely not stay here at this hotel again, but would love to go back to morocco as the country is amazing!

I read reviews of over 30 different hotels in Marrakech before deciding to pick this one. All in all, I have no regrets! Location wise: The Hotel is a 5 minute cab ride away from the old Medina. The Hotel itself, it is very nicely designed and the pool is more than alright. We got half-board (a la carte), the food was great- menu choice ranged from Raspberry chicken to traditional Moroccan Tagines, breakfast got a bit repetitive though. About the service, we went to Marrakech during Ramadan so staff attitude was a bit bi-polar. Some staff members were very rude and careless of what we asked, while other went out of their way to help us out. The cleanliness of the hotel was not the best- the carpets were not steam cleaned for a long time and there was the casual cockroach in the bathroom every other day. For a get-a-way in Morocco, I would definitely recommend this hotel. If you do choose this hotel- remember to try the mint tea! (Tip for Marrakech: Bargain for EVERYTHING, especially taxis. Ex: Airport to hotel, Taxi drivers will say outrageous prices such as 20 euro per person, while the standard rate for Moroccans is about 7 euros per way.)

We chose Hotel Tichka because we wanted somewhere relaxing for the end of our stay in Morocco, and this hotel gave us that. The pool was lovely, it was clean and had a nice garden area around it. Our room was brilliant it had a massive bed and plush furnishings, along with a great bathroom, the only problem was the lack of furniture for the balcony. On one night we stayed in to eat at the hotel, this is the biggest thing that lets the hotel down, the food was awful and the service seemed chaotic. However overall I had a lovely stay and the staff were all pleasant. The hotel isn't too far from the main part of Marrakech and the cab into the medina is about a 5 minute journey. To conclude if you want somewhere to stay that feels secluded form Marrakech yet at the same time close enough to get their easily then this is the perfect hotel.

There was an immediate sense of I wiash I had booked this on my previous trip to Marrakech- Understated but beautiful. Full of the essential rustic, with modern comforts. The pool is surrounded by lovely gardens. The staff were exceptionally helpful

This place was probably once very nice when it was first built; now it is just becoming run down and requires some serious investment, rooms are appalling, staff are rude and I would avoid the place at all costs. Its only redeeming feature is the pleasant 'courtyard' style garden/pool area.

Everything had stains. Bedding, floors, seats, table clothes. There were piles of dirt in the corners of the rooms and halls. It was filthy. I slept with my clothes on and a towel covering the pillow. The staff argued horribly about everything. We booked a triple room, we had two guys following us around with beds on rollers trying to squeeze beds into a room they would not fit in, because they "overbooked" the real triple room. The only way to settle the problem was book an additional room. Language doesn't matter, french or english, they do not understand anything you say until it comes down to money. Its more like the words hotel you could ever book, its not a 4 star hotel, whichever rating agency gave them anything above a 2 probably got a bribe.

A good hotel for the price. Excellent massage and sauna facilities. Not very much for vegetarians in the food department. Took me ages to get room service had to keep going down to things myself apart from that it a good short stay hotel.

Some staff do speak English and are quite friendly though a lot won't go out of their way. Did not have a duvet cover for the first night as by the time we saw it and brought it up to the front desk the maids had gone home for the day and no one had a key. The rooms were somewhat clean though a bit old and in need of a redo. They had organised an airport pick p for me which was great and we found it was not too far away from everything, about 10 mins away from the centre with taxis charging between 50 to 100 dirham depending on time a day. Did ask the front desk to help me booking tables for dinner which they happily did, just be aware they charge 25 dirhams for it. For the price we paid I guess it was ok though would choose to stay elsewhere next time.

Good experience, welcoming arrival. Very pleased with room on arrival which was tastefully decorated and modern. Nice little touches with petals on bed and swans made out of flannels!!! Staff friendly and accommodating. Continental breakfast - good selection and fresh.
