Cons: Location very dangerous had on attempt to pick pocket and witness one physical altercation on street with 5 men right by hotel. Hotel in ghetto and cops don't respond or car but same all over Italy! In first response and hospitality- villadedream.com would be at city hall complaining if I owned and played taxes there?? Manager/Owner needs to take some concern about his neighborhood, not good for business!

Cons: L’unico albergo in Italia, che alla presentazione del conto ti chiedo un 5% come contributo “volontario” sul totale fatturato……dopo che ti prendi 600 euro per 2 notti ad uso singolo, mi chiedi anche un contributo? Per fidelizzare il cliente dovresti fare uno sconto del 5%…….ma la cosa più assurda è la risposta del concierge di turno quando contestando questa richiesta mi viene risposto…..”è una cosa carina” 😱

The hotel’s location is perfect—right across from Bologna Centrale and within walking distance of the city center. The rooms are extremely well soundproofed, super clean, and very comfortable, which made our stay truly relaxing. I also want to send a huge thank you to the staff for helping me organize a surprise for my father’s birthday. They arranged a cake and a beautiful balloon decoration in the room, and it was absolutely wow — such a special and emotional moment for us. Nice breakfast. Wonderful service, great atmosphere, and an incredible team. Highly recommended!

The reception staff were lovely and very professional. The room was good and I liked that both windows opened so fresh air was available. The complimentary robe and slippers were a nice surprise and the shower had excellent pressure. The gym was small but a good workout is still possible with the weights/benches and machines available. Location is great if you have transport via train and don’t mind walking ~30-40 to the other side of the central area (flat and easy).
Cons: I had to ask the housekeeping staff to stop allowing the doors to slam closed with the deadbolt thrown of a morning because the impact reverberated through the walls and literally shook my bed. Not pleasant to wake up to and keep experiencing.

Cons: Stuff- in reception gave me card to door but numer room was wrong… thay didn’t inform customers about big problems with transport because city center was close (marathon). They didn’t inform that I need cc (not on phone) to deposit- I wanted to pay on first day to not use card and I coudn’t do this. It’s XXI century and I don’t use plastic card (only On phone). Dryer was very very weak.

Accoglienza staff top, posizione centralissima e colazione ricca e varia. Stanze grandi, pulite e ben tenute. Siamo stati anche fortunati nel ricevere un upgrade gratuito che sicuramente ha migliorato ancora di più l'esperienza.
Cons: Al checkout ci è stato chiesto se volessimo donare un contributo per lo staff dell'hotel ad alta voce. Sarebbe stato più opportuno invece inserirla nel POS al momento del pagamento dove uno può decidere o meno con il massimo della privacy. Il contributo l'ho dato volentieri visto come è andato il soggiorno ma la modalità con cui si chiede secondo me potrebbe essere diversa. In poche parole quando ti viene chiesto ad alta voce ti senti in soggezione e magari ti senti obbligato a dire di si e non lo trovo giusto.

The room was lovely, the bed incredibly comfortable, the water pressure in the shower was perfect, the staff was very helpful and the location, directly across from the train station, was very convenient. I particularly appreciated the fact that if you didn't request housekeeping, many items in the minibar were provided free. A nice touch.

The location is just superior, right across the Bologna Main Station where you can catch a lot of bus connections and there are many things to do in the general area too. Room was very comfortable and quite spacious with all the necessities including a capsule coffee machine. Andrea at the front desk was magnificent! He helped us with checking in and ensured that our room was perfectly prepared as we added an extra bed. Would recommend to others :)

Το πρωινο παλαιοτερα ηταν καλυτερο ,πιο πλουσιο. Οσον αφορα την τοποθεσια αυτη ειναι ο κυριος λογος που επιλεγουμε για τη διαμονη μας το συγκεκριμενο ξενοδοχειο.
Cons: Εγινε αποπειρα κλοπης του πορτοφολιου μου και του κινητου μου στο lobby του ξενοδοχειου απο καποιον που καθονταν στο διπλανο τραπεζι . Οταν το ανεφερα στη reception διαπιστωσα οτι δεν γινεται κανενας ελεγχος για αυτους που μπαινουν στο lobby και μαλιστα δεν υπαρχει ουτε μια καμερα για επιτηρηση και αποτροπη.

Według mnie największe atuty tego hotelu to lokalizacja i dobre śniadania. Z hotelu jest blisko do największych zabytkowych atrakcji Bolonii i klimatycznych kafejek i restauracji. Jeżeli planujesz zwiedzanie innych miast to trafiłeś idealnie. Bliskość dworca i świetne połączenia kolejowe sprawiają, że nie musisz w czasie urlopu skupiać się na prowadzeniu auta a Starhotel Excelsior jest świetną bazą wypadową.

Soluzione davvero invidiabile, per essere di fronte alla Stazione Centrale di Bologna ed a pochi passi dal centro del capoluogo di regione. Oltre a ciò, quello che mi preme evidenziare è l'alta professionalità del personale, davvero straordinario, gentile e molto attento alle esigenze del cliente. Nello specifico, ringrazio chi mi ha accolto in reception, perchè ha fatto un upgrade della stanza, segno di grande cura del cliente, ed al check in Francesco molto attento e preoccupato a rendersi utile. In camera anche caffè per il mattino, molto gradito! Grande accoglienza, grande camera, insonorizzazione perfetta e tutto molto comodo. Super raccomandato!

Torno sempre con grande piacere in quest’hotel che sa fornire servizi degni delle stelle che porta. La posizione è molto comoda visto che si trova di fronte alla stazione ferroviaria e praticamente subito dietro via dell’Indipendenza. Le camere sono arredate in modo classico e seppur non risultano particolarmente in linea con le nuove tendenze, sono assolutamente confortevoli, insonorizzate, grandi. Bagno in marmo ugualmente comodo, seppur a volte viene offerta la doccia ricavata nella vasca. Pulizia ai massimi livelli, personale cortese, ascensori velocissimi, colazione eccellente per scelta e qualità, dai salati ai dolci. Un soggiorno praticamente perfetto.

The location was excellent, across from the main railway station but quiet. There was a very good selection to suit all tastes at breakfast. The rooms were very comfortable with a high standatd of cleanliness.

Cons: 15€ pro Person für das Frühstück lohnt sich meiner Meinung nach nicht. Ein grosses Hotel, eher Massenware als mit Liebe gekocht. Da hatten wir in Italien weitaus bessere Angebote. Besser eines des zahlreichen Cafés in der Stadt aussuchen.

Gentilezza e disponibilità fuori dal comune Durante il mio soggiorno all’Hotel Excelsior Bologna ho avuto un imprevisto molto spiacevole: mi hanno rotto il vetro dell’auto mentre ero in giro per Bologna. Lo staff del parcheggio dell’hotel è stato semplicemente straordinario: hanno aspirato tutti i vetri, coperto con cura il finestrino rotto e mi hanno permesso di ripartire e viaggiare in sicurezza. Un gesto che va ben oltre il normale servizio alberghiero. Personale super disponibile, umano e professionale. In momenti così capisci davvero il valore di un hotel e delle persone che ci lavorano. Grazie di cuore, tornerò sicuramente e lo consiglio senza esitazioni.

I am always a bit suspicious about hotels near train stations, and Excellsior is litteraly just across Bologna train station. However, Hotel Excellsior proved that stereotype wrong. It is a wonderful hotel, a big, 4 star hotel. Obviously, it was built in the late 70's or early 80's when the building standards were made for real people - spacious rooms, big bathrooms, large beds, wonderful foyer, fast elevators. Rooms are really confortable with lots amenities, including great selcetion of coffee/tea, drinks and snacks in the room. Breakfast room is always busy, but with a great selection of food. One night we spent in a hotel bar and enjyed its realxing and cosy atmosphere sipping execellent Italian wine for very moderate price. I will definitely stay Excelsior again!
Cons: Everything was great. There is a short waiting in line to be seatted for the breakfast, but that gives the hotel a special charm. The lady who is managing places is very professional, so that she makes you feel like a speacial guest of the hotel. So, charming.

The room was overall clean and very quiet. Location is very good for visiting the city, as the hotel is just 3 minutes walking to the train station (making it easy to visit nearby cities and to reach the airport) and 20 minutes from the city centre square. There is a nice (touristic) place very close where you can eat good food, a souvenir shop for last-minute gifts, a mini-market next to the train station, and a smaller one open until very late just 5 minutes walking. Staff was very friendly.
Cons: The room was a Superior Double Room with one bed. The bed was a bit too small for two and not very firm (maybe it's just me, though). Bed sheets were definitely too small for two people. The shower drain wasn't working properly and water was being drained very slowly. This means that when you shower you will do it with water quickly rising in the bathub (it will be drained later). Shower glass was also very small and it was easy to wet the floor. All walls would need a bit of plastering and painting. The curtain was also not super clean, and dust was accumulating very quickly on the furniture (unlike other hotels I have stayed at). Overall it's not that bad, but for the high price I was expecting something better. The location is good for moving around but not the safest in the city. Like any Italian city, at the train station there are homeless and addicts. Nothing too bad (compared to other cities) but could still be unpleasant for some, who may also feel unsafe (there are lots of tourists, though, and I never felt unsafe).

La disponibilità del personale dell' albergo, i comodi servizi delle camere e la bella città con la sua Torre dell' orologio nel Palazzo Comunale su Piazza Grande .. la tranquillità della chiesa dei Celestini dove è stato battezzato Lucio Dalla. Tanto altro da vedere e da scoprire comunque bella esperienza.
Cons: Il degrado nella zona che non è costantemente controllata soprattutto la sera. In serata infatti soprattutto camminare è rischioso per la propria incolumità. Nella stazione entra chiunque senza un barriera che filtra solo chi ha pagato il biglietto come avviene alla stazione di Termini dove c'è anche più controllo.

Cons: Très déçu. Certes, la haute saison n'aide pas, mais la relation qualité-prix n'est pas équilibrée. Hôtel obscur et chambre sombre. Literie correcte, coussin horriblement mou. Salle de bains qui manque cruellement d'une bonne rénovation, sol de la chambre dénivelé..... Beaucoup de services, mais des choses simples manquent, comme une simple bouteille d'eau de bienvenue. Zone de gare, comme toutes les zones de gare. Bien situé pour le bus et le train. La haute saison n'aide pas, mais les queues qui ont lieu pendant le petit-déjeuner dénote un terrible problème d'organisation. Le centre est à 25 minutes à pied.

Hotel in posizione perfetta difronte alla stazione Bologna Centrale. Camere arredate in stile “old fashioned” ma perfettamente accessoriate, pulite ed equipaggiate di tutto il necessario (menù cuscini, bollitore, asciugamani set completo morbidi). Colazione ottima!
Cons: Ho chiesto alla reception di portarmi un cuscino rigido per la notte, visto nel menu… Non è mai arrivato.

The staff was really helpful when we arrived in our room and the noise of the extractor fans on the roof was very loud, they changed our room straightaway, upgrading it to a better, quieter, bigger and more comfortable room. They even gave us a voucher for free cocktails to apologise that we needed to change rooms. The bed is one the best I ever slept in, and everything was spotless. Also the breakfast was really good. The location is also really good, in front of the station, but also just a walk away from Piazza Maggiore.
Cons: On Sunday morning, there was a bit of a queue for breakfast.

Cons: レセプションスタッフの男性の態度が最悪でした。つたない英語力の私に対して、笑顔もなく馬鹿にしているような言い方でした。聞き返すと面倒くさそうに、話を終わらせようとしていました。部屋に入ってからレセプションに用事があり電話をしたところ、同じ男性スタッフで、私がまだ話しているのに「ハイハイ」という感じで電話を切られました。他はとても良かったのに、とても残念です。

Reggeli jó, szállás igényes, bár nem ma készült és ez néhol látszik, elhelyezkedése jó.
Cons: 1 nap kellet sorba állnunk, hogy bejussunk a reggelihez. Fürdőszoba küszöb és ajtó felázott egy részen, kád dugó működése hibás, borítás leesett. Pipere kiegészítés nem minden nap volt. Szoba padló télen hideg volt, fűtés lassan melegítette be a szobát. Van parkolási lehetőség, de az külön 25 euro volt / nap. Külön city tax és plusz 5-10% beépített borravaló, amit előre jeleztek, de nem kérdezték meg, hogy mit gondolunk erről, csupán annyit, hogy minden rendben volt-e. Az anyagi trükközés az árak felbontásával nem elegáns.

The room was very comfortable, bathroom also, everything was very clean. Breakfast was excellent, lots to choose from. The hotel is located in the centre of the city, next to the train and bus station, but is very soundproof, so we did not hear any of the noise.
Cons: Bathrooms seemed a bit oldish, but super clean. The mattress was super hard and was a bit problematic for all of us.

mi e' piaciuto l'arredamento e la pulizia non solo della stanza ma anche della hall dell'albergo, personale gentilissimo. lo abbiamo scelto per un viaggio di lavoro perché era in una posizione strategica per noi, vicinissima alla stazione centrale. . colazione continentale la mattina molto ricca dal dolce al salato e tutto buono unico piccolo neo: sulla scrivania della camera avevano degli snack col marchio dell'hotel pensavamo fossero omaggi ma il giorno dopo alla reception ci hanno spiegato che erano a pagamento. non li avevamo mangiati anche perché avevamo fatto cena fuori ma credo dovrebbe essere meno ambigua per il cliente, come ho trovato in altri hotel, l'identificazione di piccoli omaggi o meno

Vieta gera, viskas pasiekiama pėstute, patogi lova, šilta, švaru. Puikūs pusryčiai su puikia esspreso.
Cons: Parkingas- nežinojome, jog turėsime palikti ir automobilio raktelį, nes parkingas nedidelis, gali tekti pervaryti jūsų mašiną. Tačiau labiausiai trigerino tai, kad ryte, radus perparkuotą automobilį, jame buvo perreguliuoti ne tik veidrodėliai (kas būtų suprantama), bet ir sėdynė, bei klausyta savos muzikos....dėl perparkavimo 2-3 metrus į kitą vietą??? Manome, jog viešbutis turi kontaktuoti su aikštelės apsauga ir spręsti šią problemą. Tai stebina ir nemalonu, juk tai 4 žvaigždučių viešbutis. Ar ne?

impeccable hotel. Arriving here and entering the hotel, from the service, the courtesy of the staff and the space of the hotel, I thought it could be 5 stars. The room was impeccably clean and we warmly thank the maid who cleaned and changed the sheets every morning for the days we stayed. I have nothing else to say. We thank the hotel staff very much, from the reception to the entire hotel staff, and even the security at the entrance to the parking lot for storing our motorcycles.
