The property has charm but can seem a bit tired. However the staff were friendly, helpful and the food was good. The location was spectacular.
Cons: The interior design of the communal spaces felt like an after thought. I understand the property is old and has history but the decor should tell that story in an authentic and preserved way. At the moment, it feels a little on the tired side and could do with some love.

The interior of the hotel was lovely. My bedroom was well insulated and I was never aware of noise.i had a lovely view of the sea. The staff were all so helpful and polite. If I needed anything it was brought to my room within minutes.
Cons: The bathroom was very small and badly designed. The width of the basin unit was excellent plenty of room for toiletries, but it was a metre deep and the basin set so well back there was about 12 inches of marble in front of it which made it difficult to access the shower. The first time I caught my toe on the corner of the marble which took a slice of skin off, the shower base was slippery when showering and the edge of the marble step when getting out was very rough. So unnecessary, if whoever designed the bathroom had taken the excess off the marble vanity there would have been plenty of room to access the shower. A rubber mat inside of the shower would have been a good idea too

Il sagissait de notre 2e séjour. Avec mon fils de 11 ans, nous avons adoré! Personnel disponible, très sympathique et très serviable. Toujours un mot gentil. Que ce soit à l'accueil, au restaurant, aux étages et à la piscine. En pleine coupe du monde, l'animation était top! Les chambres sont spacieuses, propres et calmes. On se sent très bien à la piscine. Hotel très bien situé, près du Socco et de la medina. Vraiment je recommande !!! Nous reviendrons forcément

Cons: The restaurant staff was also friendly, however the efficiency at both breakfast and lunch (organisation, awareness of guests having needs, time from arriving to being attended and timing of taking orders) could definitely be very much improved. We loved the balcony and view from our room. We enjoyed both terraces and the pool very much. Breakfast had a large selection of pastries, eggs, meat and cheeses, and loads of delicious fresh fruit. Coffee varieties, mint tea, and juices. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again.

Cons: La qualité du self service au petit déjeuner qui n’est pas au niveau d’un 5 étoiles contrairement à l’infrastructure de l’établissement. L’impression d’un service 2 étoiles dans un 5 étoiles. Omelette sans goût, plusieurs plats sans ustensiles, vitres du restaurant à nettoyer bref s’il y a plusieurs points d’améliorations au niveau du restaurant. Idem j’ai consommé un mojito sans alcool sans goût du mojito. J’ai vu le serveur mettre 20 cl de sprite, mélangé avec peut être 5cl de jus de citron avec de la glace et de la menthe pour 80 dh je trouve ça juste scandaleux car pour un prix inférieur j’ai l’habitude de prendre un mojito dans de grand bistro parisien et au moins j’en ai pour mon argent. Je suis arrivé et pas de possibilité de trouver une place dans le parking. L’agent de sécurité ou voiturier m’a dit que c’était complet et que je devais me débrouiller pour trouver un place. Étonnant pour un 5 étoiles. J’ai garé ma voiture plus loin et j’ai du tirer mes valises ainsi que celles de ma femme dans une belle pente. Heureusement qu’à côté de l’hôtel un autre agent de sécurité m’a aidé et a récupéré ma clé de voiture pour la garer dans le parking une fois qu’il y avait de la place. Je ne vais retenir de mon séjour tous les aspects négatifs car nous avons passé avec mon épouse un bon séjour, le but de mon retour est que vous puissiez vous améliorer car vraiment il y’a une vraie différence entre le restaurant et la beauté du lieu.

Parfaitement situé pour les ballades et excursions et à proximité de nombreux restaurants, cafés et boutiques. Pourtant chargé d’histoire et lieu dans lequel ont séjourné de nombreuses personnalités, cet établissement ne présente aucun luxe tapageur. Chacun s’y sent juste bien dans ses chambres spacieuses , décorées à l’orientale et confortables, dans ses longs couloirs avec ses tapis rouges et ses portes cloutées, dans la cour intérieure ou au bord de la piscine. Les chambres orientées vers l’océan offrent une vue spectaculaire sur le port et la vieille ville. Le personnel est accueillant, souriant, discret et naturel. J’ai passé un magnifique séjour et ne peut que recommander cet établissement.

It was a great location, spacious rooms with lovely view (well ours did)and really liked the pool area and spa area well managed (only had time to use the jacuzzi and check out gym). I will definitely look to stay longer next time to make the most of the facilities and relax for longer. Highly recommend from our experience.

Ich wurde noch in keinem Hotel dieser Welt gastfreundlicher behandelt. Da mein Rückflug seitens der Fluggesellschaft von Dienstag auf Mittwoch umgebucht wurde, hat das El Minzah mir eine weitere Nacht einfach geschenkt. Von dieser Großzügigkeit mal abgesehen: Das Personal ist höchst professionell ubd zuvorkommend, die Zimmer sind wunderschön, die Bar wartet mit Live-Musik auf, der Pool ist zum Niederknien. Und die Lage zwischen dem Gran Cafe de Paris und dem Gran Socco - zentraler geht nicht. Wenn ich wieder nach Tanger komme, werde ich wieder ins El Minzah gehen.

長い間宿泊してみたいと思っていたホテルでした。バルコニーつきの部屋を予約していました。レセプションの方が「それはそれは素敵なお部屋ですよ」とおっしゃられていた通り、タンジェの港を見渡すことが出来る、本当に素敵なお部屋でした。館内には絵画や写真が飾られており、歴史のあるホテルであることを感じることが出来ました。朝食ビュッフェも2日間頂きましたが、モロッコ風のパンケーキがおいしくて、トッピングが沢山あり、フルーツも不思議な香りがついていて、本当に楽しむことが出来ました。またジャグジープールも利用しましたが、楽しい時間を過ごすことが出来ました。タンジェの新市街に位置していますが、旧市街も近く、色々なところに足を運ぶのに便利でした。スタッフのひとりひとりがとても丁寧で親切で優しかったです。またタンジェを訪れることがあればぜひ宿泊したいと思っています。ありがとうございました。

A parte che la struttura è romantica e piena di storia, vicina a tutto e con un parcheggio privato comodissimo, ho apprezzato tantissimo che la camera ci sia stata consegnata due ore prima del check-in e, a differenza di come succede sempre in questi casi, fosse una delle camere più belle, con una vista sul Mediterraneo e su Gibilterra che è a dir poco commovente. Bagno fornito di tutto, prese, luci, tutto perfetto. C’è anche un bel bar con piscina (pare che abbia ispirato quello del film Casablanca). Le signore delle pulizie sono bravissime ed efficientissime.

Heel mooi, charmant en typisch Marokkaans hotel. Prima ligging in een drukke straat maar geen lawaaihinder op de kamer. Het Marokkaans restaurant ter plaatse was een verrassende meevaller. Erg propere kamer met balkon en zeezicht. Heel aangenaam. Mooi aanbod bij het ontbijt en zeer lekker. Meeste personeel was vriendelijk.
Cons: De internetconnectie was de hele tijd heel slecht. Idem voor de airco, wat in de echt warme maanden een ramp moet zijn… De organisatie is er ook een grote tegenvaller: heel veel personeel dat elkaar vooral voor de voeten loopt en zeer inefficiënt werkt. De zaalverantwoordelijken moeten echt hun personeel véél beter opleiden en begeleiden. Dit was vooral pijnlijk duidelijk bij het ontbijt en een ramp. Tafels afruimen en proper maken, buffet en drankaanbod aanvullen, koffiemachine herstellen,… En 35 min moeten wachten op een omelet is echt niet oké. Jammer!

Excellent séjour, Quatre jours d'exception passés dans ce magnifique hôtel hors du temps. Une chambre et une literie très confortables. Silence et propreté sont alors les meilleurs qualificatifs de l'établissement. Le petit déjeuner, complet, varié est superbe. La proximité de la médina et des centres d'intérêt de la ville sont un atout majeur. Les restaurants de l'hôtel offrent des mets variés, de qualité avec un service irréprochable. La piscine et le spa sont au top. Mais par dessus tout ça, car la qualité d'un hôtel reste son personnel: tout le monde est serviable, souriant et ponctuel. Un grand merci à Mohamed de la réception qui nous a accueilli, orienté et aidé durant notre séjour.

L'hôtel en lui-même (architecture, décoration intérieure, chambre, etc...) est très beau. L'accès au spa et à la piscine a été très appréciable. Et surtout, dans le cadre d'un séjour touristique, l'emplacement de l'établissement est parfait.
Cons: Le petit déjeuner ne nous a pas semblé à la hauteur du standing de l'hôtel. Les viennoiseries étaient souvent trop cuites, il n'y avait de choix de thés, bref, il manque certaines choses au petit déjeuner pour qu'il soit de classe 5 étoiles. Enfin, le taxi réservé via l'hôtel pour notre arrivée à l'aéroport de Tanger est une arnaque. L'hôtel ne propose pas de service de navette contrairement à ce qui était écrit sur le site booking, simplement une réservation de taxi. Le prix est prohibitif et a dû être réglé en liquide tout de suite une fois à l'hôtel. Je m'attendais que ce soit mis sur ma note d'hôtel.

Les Petits déjeuners étaient bons et le personnel était accueillant. Le parking était très pratique et le personnel là aussi était agréable.
Cons: Lors de mon arrivé le lit était mouillé. La pluie avait causé une infiltration d'eau dans la chambre. J'ai avisé le personnel de la situation et la chambre a été changée. Cependant, le processus était ardu et les sourires étaient absent. Le processus aurait été plus agréable si les sourires avaient accompagné le processus. Le lendemain, la clé de la chambre ne fonctionnait pas. Il semble que le changement de chambre de la veille n'avait pas tenu compte de la durée du séjour. Il a fallu descendre faire le changement de clé. Là aussi, pas de sourires ni excuses. C'était comme si c'était de "ma faute". J'entre dans ma chambre après avoir récupéré les nouvelles clés et nous avons remarqué qu'il manquait de serviettes et que la salle de bain n'avait pas été nettoyée. Je me suis rendu à la réception pour rapporter la situation. Pas de sourires, et seulement un reproche m'indiquant qu'il aurait été plus facile pour moi "d'appeler à la réception" pour rapporter le problème. Encore une fois, c'était de ma faute. Pas d'excuses. Les matelas étaient usés. Les oreillers n'étaient pas comfortables (trop gros, trop volumineux). Cet hôtel est très bien situé. Beaucoup d'employés ont le coeur à la tâche et sont très accueillants, mais d'autres (à la réception plus particulièrement) ont le sourire difficile. Le restaurant principal (El Korsan) servait de bons repas. Le menu Marocaine était très bon. Le spectacle (musiciens et danseuses) nous a permis de vivre l'expérience Marocaine pleinement.

Beautiful, traditional hotel in a good location. Very comfortable beds, and a lovely dining/breakfast room. The attractive court yard and terrace provided protection from the wind and the sun and a delightful place to unwind with a drink.
Cons: So disappointed the outdoor pool was not open! The weather was glorious and it felt wrong swimming indoors in a heated pool. Plus there was major noisy work around the outdoor pool yet really the only area to enjoy the delightful weather.

I can't imagine a better place to stay in Tangier. The location is perfect - right off the Grand Socco and in very easy walking distance to the medina, kasbah, and new town. The views from the breakfast area, pool, restaurant, and bar are top notch. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel has tons of history - everyone from Winston Churchill to Jacqueline Kennedy has stayed here. The room was comfortable and very very quiet. We are so happy that we were able to stay in such beauty and history.
Cons: The bathroom was a bit dated and the shower was slightly difficult to manage, but that is a minor issue compared to the magic of the hotel.

Good hotel in great location giving easy access to the main attractions. Secure parking. The staff were very friendly. welcoming and helpful. The young lady on reception actually escorted us to our room on arrival and showed us where all the facilities were in the hotel. We had a very good size, clean, comfortable and quiet room at the rear of the hotel with a good view. Breakfast buffet was very good and we had dinner two evenings which was also very good. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable. If we return to Tangier we will definitely stay at the El Minzah Hotel again.

Cons: Rien en particulier. Il faut cependant réaliser qu'il s'agit d'un hôtel historique qui respecte son histoire. La décoration n'est pas de la dernière tendance mais pour nous cela est un charme que l'hôtel garde son côté historique qui ne gâche rien au confort.

Mi estancia en este hotel ha sido sencillamente maravillosa. Destacaría en primer lugar su excelente ubicación, que permite disfrutar del entorno con total comodidad. Pero si algo marca la diferencia es, sin duda, el equipo humano. Desde recepción hasta el personal del desayuno, el bar y las camareras de piso, todos absolutamente encantadores. Siempre con una sonrisa, atentos, cercanos y dispuestos a ayudar en cualquier momento. Esa actitud se percibe constantemente y hace que la experiencia sea aún más especial. La habitación estaba siempre impecable, limpia, ordenada y cuidada al detalle, lo cual es algo que valoro muchísimo. Además, facilitaron todos nuestros desplazamientos gestionando taxis con gran amabilidad y eficacia, lo que nos hizo todo aún más cómodo. Sinceramente, no tengo nada negativo que señalar. Ha sido una estancia perfecta y sin duda volvería

Die Zimmer sind großzügig und hatten einen Blick auf das Meer. Das dazugehörige Fitnessstudio hat eine große Auswahl an Geräten. Das Personal im Hotel insbesondere an Rezeption und beim Zimmerservice sind sehr freundlich.
Cons: Das Frühstücksbuffet war insbesondere in der ersten Stunde nicht vollständig und die Tische waren oft nicht sauber. Die Lärmbelästigung durch die Bauarbeiten am Pool war sehr störend und wurde nur durch einen Zettel im Aufzug angekündigt.

Cons: It claims a 5 star status, but in reality it is a 3 star. The property is fairly worn out, the swimming pool was not functioning, etc. It was quite disappointing to be set up and targeted from the moment we arrived and misled by the reception manager. At the time of check-in, he pointed us to an individual that he said we could fully trust for our tours. Unfortunately that was not the case. We were pressured into doing a city walking tour as soon as we checked into our rooms. We clearly stated that we wanted to visit a medina. We were told that we had to do it that day as the Medinas are all closed through the week due to Ramadan. We found out that was not the case, they were fully open later on. We were rushed around through city streets to the medina. Once there, there was no time for looking around and then taken to a pre-determined spot for lunch. We were not able to decide for ourselves where to eat. We were lied to about events, timing and payment format. We believe that even one of the 'local' tour guides was not even paid, because he complained to us while our 'general guide' told us not to pay him. All of these things when, added together, made for a very uncomfortable experience.

La mattina dell'ultimo giorno, dalla reception ci comunicano che se volevamo rimanere un altra notte, dovevamo pagare con carta di credito perché il pagamento da booking non gli era arrivato. Rientrati in Italia, dopo qualche giorno, ci arriva l'addebito da parte di booking su carta di credito della notte da noi pagata direttamente in hotel. Noi chiediamo il rimborso a booking e booking ci dice di richiederlo direttamente alla struttura. Chiesto più e più volte non ci hanno mai risposto né per mail né al telefono. conclusione. non sono mai stati restituiti i soldi in più da noi pagati né ci hanno mai risposto alle nostre innumerevoli mail e telefonate. pessimi!

Le palace -idéalement situé- et ses divers espaces sont d'une grande beauté et parfaitement entretenus. Nous avons été généreusement surclassés grâce à la très prévenante et efficace Sukheina et la suite avec terrasses était fort agréable. Le buffet du petit-déjeuner offrait un grand choix, dont des msemens cuits à la minute exceptionnels (la dame qui les préparait a aussi fait de succulents petits pains de maïs). Les dîners au magnifique restaurant El Korsan furent excellents, l'orchestre et les danseuses sublimes. Tout le personnel (portier, voiturier, accueil, service de table et de chambre) était très attentionné et chaleureux (mention spéciale pour Zacharias qui nous a servis avec beaucoup de zèle et de gentillesse aux petits-déjeuners et aux dîners). Cons: Buffet déjeuner : bcp de choses manquent, le personnel ne fait pas assez attention pour recharger le pain, la harira, le Nutella etc…, les tables restent sales après le départ des gens, il faut demander de nettoyer une table pour y manger, buffet en journée à 400 dh par personne c’est très très cher pour ce qui est proposé, je vous conseille de manger dehors , pas de fer à repasser dans les chambres , la piscine très petite, vu le nombre de gens ne donne pas envie d’y aller

Ein absolut fantastisches stilvolles geschichtsträchtiges Hotel - ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, Frühstück köstlich, die Räume sind so traumschön und der Innenhof mit seinem Wasserspiel lässt einen von 1001 Nacht träumen. Immer wieder gerne, wenn ich in Tanger bin. DANKESCHÖN El Minzah!

Petit déjeuner parfait. Repas du soir: nous avons essayé les 3 restaurants. Le gastro est très bien. Le dine bar est lui aussi très agréable, mais la saison n’était pas la bonne car trop froide (absence de chauffage) nous avons terminé le séjour au bar. Le service est très très bien partout, la cuisine commune aux trois restaurants permet de choisir les mêmes plats quelque soit le lieu . C’est parfait.
Cons: Le service n’a pas besoin d’être amélioré, il est parfait. Par contre, il faut remonter le niveau des équipements par un entretien plus suivi. ( contrôle des portes fenêtre, des fermetures de baies vitrées, améliorer l’éclairage salle de bain ( rasage), faire attention aux détails.

Cons: A la réception qualité de l'accueil variable d'un jour à l'autre. Mauvaise insonorisation de notre chambre. Nous avions demandé un petit déjeuner en chambre pour 5h30 il a été déposé a 5h45 nous devions partir tôt à l'aéroport et donc n'avons pas pu en profiter. Spa un peu vétuste.

The staff were very helpful and arranged a private tour for us the morning after our stay. We only had a couple of hours and managed to see lots of Tangier in that time, which we were pleased about.

Expensive for what it is which I would rate as 3 star by international standards in what is a modern port city (not the self rated 5). Yes had hot water but ineffective noisy plumbing, old chipped decor, thin walls and tv reception didn’t work. Checked in 5 pm tried to get news and no tv reception, reported and no action or feedback by reception. Went to use indoor pool and sauna as a married couple -no signs as to whether mixed male and female access possible in any room instructions ( there was no guide as to the hotel facilities advertised when you book and how to access them) or instructions at pool/sauna when we found it. Had to walk up and down stairs through multiple add on buildings to get to what was a cramped sauna. A local man who uses gym/sauna opened door and apologised when he found me as a (clothed) woman and her husband sat in the sauna but when he later came back as no other options he was a nice chap to talk to. Long convoluted and poorly signed walk back to room. Food in hotel seemed ok but nothing special. Loud music from bar made it impossible to get to sleep. Reported music to Ahmed at reception at 2200 (when he eventually answered the operator not reception telephone line) who said this was normal until 2300 -this was a Friday night. The next morning we reported disappointment in noise levels to Saturday morning manager as we checked out who told us the music ceased at 2230 ( it did not!), he also told us this is normal and he had upgraded us (omg if that was an upgrade… ) and basically was dismissive and didn’t care to have any guest feedback. Photos of the old hotel and guests paraded on walls from a time when there was no competition-this hotel appears to live off past glories. Expensive for what it is and relative to other hotels and Riads in the week we have travelled in Morocco as a family.

The food is good quality.
Cons: The wellness centre has plenty of poorly maintained facilities and old fitness equipment. The TV didn’t work in the room. Very very noisy in the room (local music from the social area below) until 11pm. Room smelled of smoke. Manager showed no concern about the noise or the TV not working. We paid a lot of money for a hotel most definitely not 5 star anymore!

Cons: Old glory hotel, corridors need refurbishment and better lighting (rooms need better lights too). No lobby seats and you must stand while waiting, a few more sofas would be nice.

Nuestra experiencia en el Hotel Minzah ha sido en general positiva. Destacamos especialmente la amabilidad del personal, siempre dispuesto a ayudar y a hacer la estancia más agradable. El hotel tiene el atractivo de ser antiguo, con mucho encanto, aunque esto también hace que algunas instalaciones resulten algo incómodas. En invierno, además, los pasillos son bastante fríos, lo que resta confort. El desayuno es muy bueno, con variedad y calidad, y los camareros son especialmente atentos y profesionales. En una ocasión tuvimos que coger un taxi y el personal fue muy amable aconsejándonos y ayudándonos a localizarlo, lo cual agradecimos mucho. En resumen, un hotel con historia y encanto, ideal si se valora el trato cercano y el ambiente clásico, aunque con algunos detalles mejorables en comodidad.

Veldig stilig hotell, som ligger midt i byen. Ut døren er du rett i overkant av markedet, som vi besøkte flere ganger. Hotellet er fint med gode senger, og god mat. Vi spiste i restauranten en kveld, og det var bra med live underholdning. Vi brukte også spaet med massasje. Uteområdet med bassenget var herlig - og med god service. Hotellet er trolig noen tiår gammelt, så det er ikke det mest moderne hotellet du kommer til å bo på, men jeg syntes det var uvesentlig. Veldig sjarmerende hotell!

Cons: Vi fikk et "connected " rom- det var en tynn dør inn til siderommet. Det var veldig lytt mellom rommene - vi kunne høre alt hva de sa og gjorde på det andre rommet (vi var ikke i samme reisefølge), det var ubehagelig.

L hôtel très propre est accueillant ,le personnel est au top 👌,petit déjeuner très varié. Nous avons pu profiter de la vue sur la baie .

Historical hotel with certain charm. The suites are nice. Other rooms are nicely decorated. New windows and remodelled bathrooms.
Cons: The hotel is positioned as a high-end 5 star property. The service definitely is not up to the level. Nobody helped with the luggage at the entrance. The regular rooms are very small by the modern standard and very dark. It was very depressing and inconvenient. The mattress was very hard and not comfortable. The shower stall doesn't have a door and the bathroom is always wet. There is only instant coffee provided in the room. The breakfast was disappointing. Great at the first look but everything was cold. Try to eat a cold omelette and drink cold tea. Called a manager to complain. The next day is the same problem. The lady making Moroccan crepes arrived only at 9 when we were on the way out. I wanted to have a haircut. The receptionist told us that they have one on site at the spa. We went there only to find that they don't. Overall impression is a lot of staff in fancy clothes but very little help. They prefer to talk between themselves rather than provide services.

Das Hotel mit Terrasse mit Blick aufs Meer ist war fabelhaft. Man ist in diesem Hotel in eine andere vergangene Zeit versetzt. Eine Oase mitten im Zentrum.
